Unfortunately food took over an hour to arrive, when it did it the sea bass, mash and runner beans were luke warm. The ceasar salad consisted of wilted brown lettuce, croutons and chicken, not impressed at all and will not return. The Manager was quite indifferent to our complaints, just did not seem to care. AVOID!!!!!! AT ALL COSTS.

It has changed a lot over the years, but not for the better. This used to be lovely spot with all the old decorations hanging from the ceiling and would have gotten 5 stars. Now it's bland and the service is worse. Wait staff didn't seem to want to be there, poor attitude, and talking to each other by the door about how close they are to the end of shift, never approached the table after being served. Options for steak were 'pink or well done' asked for 'pink', and it came out well done... had an issue with one meal that the manager swiftly resolved (the saving grace). But it's no longer worth the hour and a half drive my family used to take just to visit this place.

Visited 02/01/2024 whilst visiting the Glenariff Forest park and waterfalls and found this lovely restaurant half way around the bottom of the waterfall (red) trail. We arrived and were seated quickly with menus by lovely staff member. It was quite busy with other people and another member of staff arrived shortly after to first take drinks orders and then food orders. The hot chocolate with marshmallows was well received. The chickpea and spinach curry with rice and roti was a 7 out of 10. The seabass with champ and veg was also a 7 out of 10, and appreciated that the chef was able to do it without the wine sauce and provide a tartar sauce condiment replacement. The skinny fries were good and enjoyed by the young member of our party. A good rest stop to refuel if your in the area. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There was plenty of everything and we were well looked after by Pauline.Hadn’t been here for a while but will certainly not leave it so long until we are back again. One big plus..nice and quiet so you can have a conversation. No loud music playing thank goodness. I can’t stand loud music playing through speakers in other restaurants so well done to Gary for not doing that here.Beautiful setting of course as well.

Food was very poor, but views are great. We've just left. My partner had beef roast. The beef was like leather, overcooked to the point that it was beyond well done, and the mash was hard without butter or seasoning. 'Roast potatoes' must have been out of a packet, and there was hardly any gravy or vegetables. I had steak and fries. Fries were floppy they were so underdone. Peppercorn sauce clearly out of a packet, as bland and watery. Steak was the only thing served to either of us that was cooked competently. From minute one, you could tell it wasn't a place for food and drink lovers. One lackluster ale to choose from, and an average glass of wine came in a mini bottle unopened on the table. Condiments came in tiny packets like a fast food place. Decor is pretty tired and dated, but it wouldn't matter if there was a real chef making a menu. There was hardly anyone there, and I'm not surprised. Maybe they are better in season or at lunch. Views out the window are fantastic. Maybe get a drink after a walk. Don't get dinner.

I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. I have read some of the reviews that aren't very nice and I don't feel they give the correct feedback. The food is plentiful and delicious, it is great hearty food and the desserts are to die for, not to mention the stunning scenery it is definitely out of this world. Over the years it just gets better and now with covid they have adapted with takeaway and I understand they are closed for some refurnishments but can imagine it will just be as good as before if not better. Staff are always lovely and stop for a chat which i personally love might not be to everyone's taste but this is the Irish way and I think it just adds to the overall delight of the laragh lodge

I have eaten in here a few times in last 6 months, once last Sept and once in December and I absolutely love it. It has a lovely atmosphere and staff are friendly and helpful and they have done everything possible to make it covid secure. Both times I have combined my visit with a walk up Glenarriff via the waterfalls which is just stunning. The food is excellent, I would highly recommend the cauliflower starter and the apple crumble dessert. The salmon and chicken dishes were excellent and the portions are good old fashioned farmer's style (plentiful). I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Unfortunately I don't live close enough to get a take away but am looking forward to another visit when things open up again.

Arrived at 12 noon for Sunday lunch thinking we’ll get lovely fresh lunch...boy were we wrong. Soup to start...meant to be potato and leek. Think it may have just been watery potatoes. So bland. Ordered turkey and ham. Meat was dried out, the gravy couldn’t save it. Nearly needed to wash each mouthful down with water. Wife ordered chicken goujons...they came overcooked, with a handful of chips and a dip in a paper pot like McDonalds. Not even a salad garnish. Do not be fooled by the mouth watering pics online. One toilet in use for the whole restaurant...so there was a queue each time. Men, woman, kids, elderly all waiting on one toilet, having to dodge out of the way of waiters...hard to keep a social distance. We’ve eaten here before and I was in shock at how bad the food was. Hopefully this was just a bad day...

Very limited vegetarian options. Only main was the chilli. Very bland and tasteless. The more I think about it it was probably from a tin, the pita bread was certainly Tesco bought and not even warm, couldn’t manage more than two bites of it. Considering it was £14 it was a let down. Staff member completely uninterested in my feedback, didn’t bother to try to respond. Will not be back and would not recommend.

It was a horrible wet day so we ordered drinks and sat in the outside covered area to eat our own sandwiches which we where told was totally fine by a young member of staff. It was clear from the dirty looks we later received from a manager looking figure that this wasn't OK. He stood the entire time staring and smoking on the restaurant door step (note this is so unprofessional and looks awhfful)! Two other members of staff came and sat literally beside us and lit up a cigarette each. It was obvious this was blowing in our faces and they clearly didn't care. We had a very small baby with us and a toddler. In 2020 this is totally unacceptable behaviour! Also £2.00 for a small plastic tumbler of coke is a joke. I would bring your own flask of tea and sit under a tea. There's too many nice establishments out there now to give places like this money.

Laragh Lodge for an early tea at the recommendation of others. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. I am sad to say that the food was not good. I ordered Portavogie prawns in batter. The first six pieces of batter contained little to no prawns and what was there appeared to be a processed version of fish. The manager's explanation that it was a bad batch and that he had sold plenty that day without complaint was simply not good enough. What really saddens me is that this restaurant sits in one of the most beautiful scenic glens in the world and has the potential to do well. However, as with many restaurants this one has changed hands over the years with food standards beginning well and then standards falling: what a shame - I hope this time the same mistakes are not made. Guys get your act together- simple well made food is all this place needs.

Absolute rip off merchants. They have a notice saying non diners must pay a small charge to use the toilet. Not great but if you are desperate you pay up. But 50p!!! Each!!! I said I had to go so paid. But the really horrible woman then said to my husband "surely you should go to". He thought she meant for the same price but no, she then took another 50p out of his change!!!! At that point we thought we may as well have a coffee but it was expensive and dreadful. Delighted to find this place as we had walked a couple of miles with very small children. Both needed the bathroom and they ran quickly to the toilets with their dad. At this point the man on reception asked me for 50p for the children to use the bathroom. I told him I didn't have 50p and why did I need to pay for cgildrnyo go to the toilet? He then asked where I lived. I asked why this mattered and he replied with 'would you like me to come and pi*s in your house? I was absolutely appalled to be spoken to in this manner. I told him I would be leaving a review on facebook later. He then took out his camera and began to video me!!!! He repeated that there was a charge to use the toilets unless you were a customer- we may well have stopped to buy something, but our initial priority was to get two little boys to the bathroom!! The food here was delicious. Lovely scenery. A hidden gem at the foot of Glenariff Forest Park. Would definitely recommend and will be going back to try something else delicious from the menu.

Laragh Lodge is part of every visit I make to the beautiful Glens of Antrim. Always a warm and friendly welcome from Gary and his team. Excellent food and wine. We had a wonderful malbec last visit. The food is top class fresh food cooked to perfection. If you have three courses and a bottle wine I would reccommend walking to the waterfall before your meal. Looking forward to my next visit..

Only in the restaurant a few minutes and welcomed by very friendly staff, served very quickly Roast of the Day was Turkey and Ham with creamed potatoes, mash carrot and parsnip, Roast potatoes and cocktail saugsages. The meal was cooked to perfection and very nicely presented with fresh young pea shoots as garnish lovely touch well done to the chefs. Thought I would try a different desert chocolate brownie Sundae with butterscotch sauce, went down a real treat and not too sweet just the right balance.

We found this gorgeous place by chance after a walk from the caravan park at Glenariff down past the waterfalls. The place was amazing, didn’t expect to find anything here never mind a bar/restaurant. The sun was out for a change in June and we sat outside with our large, hairy puppy who had to run up and say hello to everyone he met. Early afternoon and we had a few Rockshore Beers, the atmosphere was lovely and we had a few more beers, some chips etc we had plenty of craic with the lovely lady who looked after us and we only left so that we could walk back up to the caravan site. The place should be promoted more by Forest Sevice at the campsite.

We finished up a rainy walk in the Glenariffe forest with a cup of tea and something sweet, and I can recommend it to anyone––without any reservation. Though we were soaking wet, the owners and staff welcomed us warmly.

Really nice establishment in a very scenic setting. Just stopped off for a quick lunch and found it a very pleasant experience. Very tasty food from a menu ranging from soups and sandwiches to full 3 or 4 course lunch. Food was served fresh and hot was of a very good quality which was equalled by great service from the waiting staff. Prices were reasonable as well and looking forward to a return visit.

Called for lunch whilst visiting the nearby waterfalls. Had a sandwich and a drink. Waitress taking the order was rude. I asked for brown bread and she said they only had WHITE, she was very curt. £4.99 for a Sandwich and few crisps. Bread was like tesco value bread. We any realised when we had left that we had been overcharged. Very disappointed, they could improve so much as the location is fantastic. Plus side, toilets were clean and fresh!

Keep coming back to the delightful Laragh Lodge near the Waterfoot and Glenariff. This time it was a lovely Cod lunch with my partner having a sirloin steak. After dinner a walk around the Glenariff Waterfall. A great Sunday day.

Our hosts at the B&B; we were staying in pointed us to the Laragh Lodge and we had also seen it prior to visiting N. Ireland. We were not disappointed. The location is wonderful and we ended up visiting twice, on both occasions we had a table with great views of the waterfalls which were illuminated after dark. The food and drink we had was all very good for the price we paid. It was considerably quieter than we had expected, in fact for much of the time we were the only people eating, however, this was probably more due to the time of year and certainly we would not hesitate to recommend this location for well priced food and friendly staff.
