Langleys Restaurant & Wine Bar in Kingston upon Thames

Enjoyed an office Christmas party here on Friday lunch time. The food was beautiful , good choice of food to cater to varied tastes. Service was quick for a party of 40 the staff were attentive. Super venue and atmosphere, also great value. Glad to we chose Langley’s for our celebration.

We were the only table in the restaurant and we had to send back the risotto as it was cold. A very limited menu and a few dishes were not available (including burgers). Staff were very friendly but I wouldn’t return.

The restaurant was a bit quiet for the lady night. The food was good. Starter: house bread and scallops were a bit overpriced. Main course: the twice cook pork belly was good. I ordered my steak medium rare but came out well done, a bit disappointed. The 12.5% discretionary service charge was based on before 50% to calculate, which is unfair.

So, the food was better than we thought it would be when we walked in. The place always looks good from the outside when we pass by. We walked in on a Friday night, and only one other table was occupied. The restaurant smelled musty, the service was weird, the wine cheap to taste but expensive to pay for. We left a buzzing pub where we could have probably eaten almost as well and with better drinks and atmosphere. Maybe it was just a bad night, but as I said, the food was actuality nice.

We wanted to go out on a Thursday night for a nice meal, in great surroundings for a pre birthday day (and to be able to use a Tastecard) so we chose Langleys - as we enjoyed it so much before. Pre-booking on the phone was easy and the staff were helpful. On arriving we were welcomed and allowed to choose our preferred table. We chose our food and drinks and the staff were very good in answering all our questions. The food was great, the service was friendly and attentive. The venue is classy but welcoming - nothing like going for a meal at a bulk standard restaurant chain. We really enjoyed ourselves and the relaxed evening, we even met the owner too! We will definitely be going back

Went to Langley's last night as a party of 6 girls for my retirement dinner. We have been to Langley's many times and actually have a WhatsApp group titled Langley's so I am not writing this lightly. We had a lovely "While you ponder" of Cocktail sausages and bread with a lovely garlic butter and then ordered our mains. I just fancied a starter of tempura prawns and some chips so ordered that. The prawns came with the other mains but no chips which I had to ask for and arrived after I had eaten the prawns. We then ordered dessert and I ordered some cheese. The desserts arrived but no cheese. When my friends were almost finished I asked where my cheese was, to be told that it was on it's way. After another 10 minutes still nothing arrived and when I enquired I was told the kitchen had forgotten about it. The restaurant was not busy so I was very disappointed. We then asked for the bill and requested that the cheese be removed. The bill arrived and we requested that the service charge be amended to about half which did not go down well with the server! Such a shame as Langley's is such a lovely restaurant with great ambience and food, and usually great service, but not this time.

Bevan and his team are simply the best. We arranged our company Christmas night out in December and although we had to cancel our original date at the last minute due to train strikes, Bevan quickly sorted us with a new date in January. Everyone had a fantastic evening, they had a wide selection of canapes on the menu, that were substantial in size and tasted amazing. His staff were polite and attentive to all the guests, ensuring everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a function space, very much looking forward to trying the restaurant soon.

I visited on a friday evening with my partner, the atmosphere was amazing! Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, the food was still absolutely amazing! The extra touch of a musician in the background complimented the evening. We will definitely be returning soon!

absolutely sh!t!! Do not go there until it improves. Really bad. starter was poop, croquettes were cheap sausage meat, all style over substance. The main was a £25 beef rib that was 80% fat and uneditable. Service “used” to be up there with Michelin contenders, but that has drastically gone down hill. There was one person covering the bar, the welcoming and all tables, a faulty towers vibe.

We dropped into Langleys for dinner, as we hadn't been since pre Covid. We were seated, and overall the service was ok. However the food, wine and ambiance were bad with food elements that were inedible. The menu is ambitious, and as a result expensive in comparison to adjacent restaurants, which doesn't work if the quality of food isn't up to par. It is clear that the owners want to market this restaurant above the average on Ewell Road which all local residents would greatly support, but in order to do this, the food and wine has to improve significantly.

We are big fans of this lovely restaurant and are delighted with the new happy hour and bar snacks menu. You can book the bar area too for a group of you. Food never disappoints. Service is always great. Fantastic wine list too.

Booked a table here tonight as they were offering the Taste Card offer on the website only to be told when we turned up that they weren't offering it and there was nothing they could do about it. Appreciate restaurants are opening up but Pizza Express have come off the website so don't advertise it if you don't want to do it. Tried to reason with them but no excuse offered and so decided to leave on principal. Plenty of other restaurants we could have booked tonight so annoying that out night was ruined. Gone home to get a takeaway

I have been to this restaurant on many occasions in the past therefore feel like I should write a review as every time I go the service is amazing! We went for a bottomless brunch on Saturday and our glasses were never not full. Andrei and Archie were so warming and attentive whilst kindly making sure all the diners were complying with the new safety measures. The food was delicious and we will definitely be returning soon. Just visited for the first time with our two daughters, their husbands and our 3 granddaughters. We had a mix of roast dinners and steak, chips and egg between us and all the meals came up hot and were all delicious. Would thoroughly recommend Our waitress was also very pleasant and the staff did not hurry us even though we didn’t finish our meals until 4 45 and they were closing at 5.

Food was excellent and staff very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately at the end of the evening it was very obvious a staff member wanted to hurry us to pay the bill and to leave as we were the last group in the restaurant - such as shame it as put a downer on the evening. If you’re made to feel you should leave why would you go back? Will think twice about returning to this establishment.

Love this restaurant. Great food however a little baffled as to why we could not book a table for 7pm. We had to have 6:30pm. A tad early! And the restaurant was empty bar one other table up to when we left at about 9:30pm. On line reviews mention a varied vegan menu but this is not the case. What my daughter had was delicious but there was only one option.

I've walked and driven by this place for years but never actually went in. We finally went the other day. I should have kept walking. It was really empty, and that was despite it being ladies night, yet we had to wait a long time for most things and when it did arrive it wasn't worth the wait. After being seated we ordered a bottle of wine and some bread whilst we looked over the menu. The bread took 25 minutes before it was delivered and instead of the 3 dips it only had 2. The wine was poured straight full even though I asked to taste it. The waitress actually seemed confused by my request. We both ordered from the set menu and had a main and dessert each. The steak, even though we asked for it cooked in different ways, was well done for both of us. Neither of us asked for well done. The chips were greasy. My boyfriend asked for vinegar which took 15 minutes to be delivered. We asked if it came with vegetables/ salad - we were told yes. Ok yes it was green but a few sprigs of greens which was a garnish doesn't equate vegetables / salad. I had the cheese board for dessert- the cheese was sweaty and the crackers stale. Not worth the visit, will keep walking next time.

Birthday supper for my wife and her elderly parents (including two coeliacs) and I wanted to get it right. Chose to try Langleys for the first time and it fully met expectations. We enjoyed a friendly welcome, excellent service, relaxed atmosphere in an interesting building and tasty, beautifully presented food from the varied a la carte menu. When we asked the attentive proprietor to pass our compliments to the chef, he said his "new head chef" would be pleased. The place deserved to be fuller but it was a freezing Wednesday evening a week before payday! Our bill for three courses a la carte for four people including a decent bottle of wine and service included was £175. Fair value for money, wife happy and the in-laws duly impressed.

After it was recommended by a friend, I decided to treat my Mum to a meal here last Friday. It turned out to be the launch of their new menu and we most definitely wasn’t disappointed.. We were spoilt for choice!

Shame it was a bit quiet and lacking in customers but expected during holidays. Ordered two roast lunches and they were fabulous. Very well cooked and very well presented. Service was excellent and friendly. Will definitely go again

We have always eaten at home for Christmas but my better half decided that we should have a meal out this year. A good decision as it turned out! There was a very calm, relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant with people quietly enjoying themselves. The staff were very pleasant and most attentive.The food, as usual, was excellent; I didn't realise how hungry I was having been at work for the early part of the morning. We will be doing this again next year!

Service good but Christmas lunch very disappointing. Turkey tasteless and came in a round shape like a burger. Roast potatoes were not roasted and hard, half the plate was take up by brussel sprouts, YUK! Will never be eating at Langleys again until they learn to cook!

5 of us went for dinner, and although the restaurant wasn’t busy we waited over an hour for our food. Apparently it was because we’d chosen things that ‘take a long time to cook’ (3 chicken burgers and 2 squash Wellington’s). Had to ask for menus and drinks, it all felt a bit haphazard.

I had been meaning to try the bottomless brunch at Langleys for a while and I was not disappointed. 12 of us went for the 11-1 slot. The service was fantastic and effortless. Our glasses were refilled regularly and they didn’t mind us switching beverages. The food was great and we enjoyed a lively celebration

A great local restaurant, a great place to pop out to or for family birthdays. the young girl who manages the place is very helpful and smiley. They also do some comedy shows which I haven't been to but it's a great place to have on my doorstep.

Another fab meal at Langley’s. Lots of new dishes on the menu, like salt crust baked beetroot carpaccio as well as old favourites such as pear and goat’s cheese salad with walnuts - both yummy and get your juices going. The star of the show for me was the salmon from the set menu - perfectly cooked (pink and succulent) and served with coconut rice, Bol Choi and an amazing lemongrass veloute. Great flavour and great value. Service as always was friendly, attentive and professional. You really cannot go wrong here.

Visited last night for my birthday. Loved the decor and ambience. Out of four meals, the steak was great and the rest nice. However it was sat night and the food took ages to arrive. We had to give up on dessert which spoilt our night. We wouldn't go again.

Had a great night out for my mother-in-laws birthday. A card signed from the team was waiting on her table, wishing her a happy birthday. I would highly recommend for a special dinner. Prices are very reasonable. Yes there were a few service issues but great value for money.

Langleys has perfected the formula for a successful restaurant: nice decor, very good service, happy-looking staff, fair prices and a short-ish menu where every dish has been carefully thought out and well cooked. We had the antipasto, which was very high quality and substantial; the sea bream (ditto) and the seafood linguine (my husband said the sauce was overpowering and didn't like the sundried tomatoes, but I disagreed). All the food we saw going past looked delicious and we heard happy comments from other diners. It's nice to have this style of restaurant in the local area.

Poor food, arrogant service, drove past it again yesterday & we both commented, "never again, no matter how hungry"!

My husband and I treated my parents to a meal at Langely's and what a treat it was! We were running slightly late and when I telephoned the restaurant the staff were polite and relaxed and said it was no problem to hold the table. We were greeted with a smile and the friendly service continued throughout the evening. We enjoyed 3 courses and drinks and everything was served in a timely manner. The food was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious! I have visited on a number of occasions and the food and service has always been exceptional. I would highly recommend a visit to Langley's restaurant, for us it was the perfect way to thank my parents for the amazing help and support they have given us recently. I wish I had asked our waitress for her name as she deserves a special mention, especially for the extra crackers to keep my dad happy!

We've been here several times over the years, and always had exceptionally nice food; so when it came to choosing a local venue for our wedding reception, Langley's was top of the list. Leading up to the big day, Bevan and Max could not have been more helpful, putting up with all our questions and changing plans with huge amounts of patience -and we needn't have worried at all, because on the day itself everything went absolutely perfectly.

Excellent food and service. We had fish of the day which was sea bass, duck, gnocchi and the vegan dish. All meals were well presented, delicious and plentiful. Definitely would return and recommend. And they delivered a small birthday pudding plate free of charge for our 91 year old!

It's rare that I call a starter magnificent but the salmon ballotine really was. My husband's scallops were a marvel. This is the reason why we always come here for our anniversary - lovely, friendly service; cocktails perfectly mixed and deceptively smooth; plus food that surprises in its quality being really just a few minutes from the A3!

As always the food and service was fantastic. I had the Sea Trout which was cooked to perfection. my wife had the Sea Bream and my friends had the Duck and the Pork Belly. All 4 of the dishes were made to a very high standard! Not only was the service friendly, but it was prompt also. We will continue to come back!

Hi we went for dinner last Friday night with close friends and I had never been there before. Langley’s has a good diverse menu and I could have selected several things but settled on the scallops followed by Lamb. Good quality food and nice portion size.

We meet friends for dinner and were impressed with the staff and the food, a really nice friendly atmosphere. The only drawback which is so common in many restaurants is that, due to a lack of soft furnishing; lots of hard flat surfaces, the acoustics aren't good if you want a conversation across a table.

The food was exquisite, much better than I thought it would be, including starters, mains and dessert. There was a wide variety of drinks and a popular children's menu too. The service was excellent and professional.

We have only started using this excellent restaurant / wine bar recently. After three trips in as many weeks we can recommend this venue for any size celebration or intimate evening. The food is very, very good and reasonably priced. The staff are some of the best ever encountered and very knowledgeable and helpful. It is a very comfortable place with the music / lighting a little subdued.

We visited Langleys for the first time this week and very much enjoyed all three courses, which were perfectly cooked and presented. The restaurant is in a good location for Surbiton Station. Very attentive friendly staff. The only downside, was Internet Music being played. Our pet hate.

Couldn’t quite understand why they sat us by the door when there were lots of other tables available the whole time we were there but it wasn’t too bad except for when the door opened to accommodate the comings and goings of the smokers. Food was very good, some very nice fish, a good steak and some good vegetarian options. Reasonably priced wine, efficient service, just a little quiet on a Tuesday but a colleague reported going for the weekly ladies night when apparently its buzzing.

My hubby brought me here for Valentine’s Day dinner and we had a wonderful time! The food was gorgeous, as were the cocktails. The wait staff Telma and Chrissy were so lovely and attentive. They, along with the perfectly cooked food, made for a wonderful evening out.

I’ve always heard good things about Langleys so thought it was worth a try. On walking in we found the noise level really high and were not too happy to be placed by the bar and draughty door. The waitress said there were no other big enough tables and said she would shut the outer door but didn’t. Menu is ok, sort of Mediterranean contemporary trying to be a bit different eg lamb shank with a curry sauce put on after cooking. It’s quite heavy on the meat but there is a small vegan menu. The staff we e plant but service was slow which is annoying when you have a standard charge whacked on. Cocktails were good. Wouldn’t rush back.

Fantastic food and service every time! Have been going here for years and Enjoy it every time. Their set menu is great value for money and the wine list has fantastic variety. Can’t wait until my next visit.

Good modern british menu, nice environment , even if off the beraten track a bit in terms of central Surbiton

I absolutely love coming to Langleys. It’s the sort of restaurant that you can confidently bring new people to in the sure knowledge that the food and service will be amazing. The menu changes all the time so you never get bored with what is on offer.

The service was very good. I was there as part of a large party with a pre-choice of menu. Dishes arrived of different plates very swiftly. Food was delicious and well presented on the plates. We were upstairs and the decor and architecture is very attractive with very tasteful Christmas decorations added. Would visit again. Parking can be tricky due to permit holders only parking in the nearby streets. But we did eventually find a space which was free after 6.00pm.

Always driving past here and often wondered what the food is like so we looked it up on here.

I live a few doors away so I have a soft spot for Langleys but they are also the best restaurant in Surbiton. The food is always perfectly cooked, modern and tasty and the customer service is always excellent.

This restaurant and wine bar has a great atmosphere and the food I must say is the best I have tasted for a long time excellent make sure you book as we were very lucky to get a table and only had a limited time to occupy the table as it was booked. We will definitely be returning here but will book in advance.

We came as a family last Saturday night and had the most amazing meal and service. We loved it. I'm not a vegetarian but I ordered the Portobello mushroom Wellington and it was incredible.

Recently visited the restaurant with my wife. The menu was simple and clear and the quality of the food was excellent. Big portions, the lamb shank was a great eat with a twist of Asian influence. The pork belly cooked to perfection. Slightly on the more expensive side considering it was not in the West End, however would highly recommend. It is not the quietest of places , so if you are looking for a romantic quiet dinner this is not the place.

Came here for dinner and had a really nice time. For us, the service was the highlight - every member of staff was exceptionally friendly and lovely and that really made the experience special. The cocktails were great - don pedro for dessert was amazing. We found the food slightly disappointing for the price tag which was a real shame as everything else about this place was bang on.

My wife and I visited after reading the reviews for Langleys and we weren’t disappointed. Friendly and attentive service, great looking room and excellent food made for an enjoyable lunch. The food was flavoursome, well presented and portions were just right, we managed 3 courses each which doesn’t happen very often. My wife loved her roast hake and my pork belly was cooked superbly and alot bigger than I was expecting. As for the price, it’s a steal, at £17.50 for 3 courses.

We visited this restaurant because a number of our friends said that the food was excellent. When a restaurant comes highly recommended you always wonder whether the night you are going is thee night the main chef has the night off. On this occasion he was cooking. We started off with a tomato soup, Marinated Norfolkcoast prawns,Sautéed asparagus,and slow cooked on cheeks. These were followed by Slow cooked belly of pork,Oven roasted hake and a Gressingham duck breast. We also had a side portion o Broccoli. This is a wide variety and everyone thought there dishes were very good. This is a modern restaurant where there are no curtains or carpets and so the noise level is very height. The restaurant has a good ambience. We will certainly be going back. Extremely good staff and .the owner came into the restaurant and asked our opinions. Very few owners and chefs do this now.

Overall excellent food, service and drinks at a reasonable cost. Good selection of gins. And walking distance from Surbiton station.
