L,angelo Cafe in Islington

Just a few minutes turning left out of Angel Station is this lovely London gem of a cafe, and easy to miss if you don't know it's here. I was looking for a vegan or vegetarian breakfast and had a perfect one here early Friday. Breakfast, toast & a drink (fresh squeeze orange!!) made this a bargain purchase. I had a good with the friendly owner and this is now my only morning pit-stop in Islington whenever i return.

Great value little caff. One of the very few of its kind in this area. Friendly service and great value.

Two friends and I were making our way from Islington to Kings Cross on a very hot day when we came across this little cafe. I would describe it as a good, old, fashioned, unpretentious, Italian cafe. A bit of a gem in these days. We chose sandwiches and drinks but they came freshly prepared and really reasonably priced. My friend felt faint and the cafe owner brought ice to cool her and was helpful without fussing. We loved that we found a traditional cafe that is obviously run by a caring couple.

This cafe does my favourite all-day breakfast in London, with wonderful service and friendly owners.

Visited twice during our break. Great coffee. Lots of choice for food. Very tasty. Great value and friendly staff. Would recommend.

Stumbled upon this place whilst staying at the Doubletree a few doors down. It's a gem of a place with a wide range of breakfast dishes and bagels/ sanwiches/wraps etc and really reasonably priced! The best coffee that we tasted in London by far! The owner was absolutely lovely, so friendly and accommodating! highly recommend.

My favourite cafe in Angel. Always a warm welcome from the friendly owners. Great selection of food and drinks; tasty and at a good price. Everything you could want from a local cafe.

Strolling out of our hotel, we come across this great little cafe.. Prices were unreal for London £5-6 inc. coffee for a cooked breakfast Bagels Croissants etc Good coffee Great service Very friendly service & owner Look it up 👍🍀

Friendly service, amazing variety, sandwiches, bagels and toasts are freshly prepared on the spot, in front of you. Great value for money. Quick service. Highly recommended.

A lovely, unpretentious little café swimming in a morass of overpriced, trendy eateries. You can get an excellent lunch, with a drink for around a fiver and whilst the food is simple, it's excellent quality and cooked to perfection. The patron is friendly and hospitable. I would recommend L'Angelo, without hesitation.

We were staying almost next door at a hotel and saw this place as an alternative to a really expensive hotel breakfast. This is a small place, with a few tables with a giant menu on the wall, but it's easy to order something simple, a couple of eggs, bacon and toast. The staff is friendly and efficient and you can get either breakfast or lunch. There were office workers stopping in here, on their way to work, getting a sandwich for takeaway. Not the fanciest place you'll ever see, but it's inexpensive and quick.

I enjoyed my breakfast here at Café L'Angelo, there are a range of set breakfasts served all day and the option to create your own - with very patient and lovely staff. The breakfast was well cooked and not at all greasy and with a generous portion of beans. I can't wait for a chance to return!

Have stopped here before morning meetings each of the past three years when I visit. Excellent, reasonably priced, lot of variety. Always been pleased.

A super hideaway for coffee. Great very strong coffee that set me up for the day. Top that with a perfect muffin and it’s a great start to the day.

I eat here a few mornings a week. Angelo is lovely and all his sandwiches are great value. This place is justifiably packed at lunch with office workers, but the queue goes quickly as he always has a helper in. Eat here. Save local businesses.

The food's not amazing, but this proper old-style cafe/greasy spoon is great value. Particularly when compared to the other overpriced eateries of Angel. Friendly staff and a warm cup of tea make it a welcome break. Usual sandwich fare. 1 min from the tube.

This place is ideal for a quick lunch on the go or to eat in. The range of fillings for sandwiches, hot ciabatta or jacket potato is staggering and along with the salad is all fresh daily

I love this place for breakfast/lunches. The owners are always so wonderfully warm and welcoming, the prices are great and there's so much to choose from. A perfect little homely cafe for a quick bite. I always eat here whenever I'm in the area.

Visited here numerous times during the week just gone for breakfast. Staying three or four doors up at the Hilton Doubletree. For £5-£6.50 you can get numerous combination breakfasts including the delicious special one. Reasonably prices and excellent service

Tasty food freshly made, English breakfasts, sandwiches, toasted ciabatta, omelletes and jacket potatoes are all available. I was staying nearby in Angel and have come here for breakfast twice now. They were cold mornings and I fancied something warm for breakfast, and as my tummy began to rumble I happened upon this place.The decor is basic, homely and authentic. When I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly Spanish man with a big "Hola señor!". The menu is overwhelming, with way too much to choose from, but if you spend a little time you are bound to find something that fits you perfectly.My first breakfast was the bratwurst melt, which had German sausages, with cheese and a curry sauce. Toasted perfectly and was delicious, but was a little difficult to eat.My second breakfast was the schnitzel cordon bleu melt, which was super tasty and the Swiss cheese was delightfully stringy.Usual coffee and teas are available, I don't drink much coffee but my friends tell me that it's decent coffee, but not the best.
