Lamphey Hall Hotel Restaurant in Pembrokeshire

We live near and occasionally visit the bar and lounge area for a drink. Great selection of drinks and always greeted with polite and friendly staff. We decided to eat here today, it was quite quiet but we ordered three different dishes and were impressed with how tasty, great presentation and how well everything was cooked. The salad bowl offerings certainly had some interesting and lovely tasting options. Three empty plates and three very happy customers.. we haven’t stayed overnight so cannot comment on the rooms

Had a lovely Sunday lunch yesterday. I had one of the two vegan options, a leek and potato terrine, and it was delicious. It was served with a lovely platter of different veg and an individual pot of vegan cauliflower cheese. I also had the apple strudel with vegan custard, which also came with mango sorbet, if you preferred. I will definitely go back to try more of their new vegan lunch menu.

We visited the hotel for dinner with our family. The staff were great, friendly atmosphere, good food. The children loved our meal here.

Stayed here Sat-Mon. Had 2 main meals and 2 breakfasts. All excellent. Their Sunday carvery is fantastic. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Happily stay here again.

Just arrived home from a lovely two night stay at Lamphey Hall. The new manager and his team are a very friendly helpful team. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is really good freshly prepared and good quality local ingredients. I wish them lots of luck we will be back x

We had an excellent meal served by a friendly and attentive host, Josh. The steak was melt in the mouth and the ribs very tasty. The chef kindly accommodated my request for a blue cheese sauce, and I could actually taste the blue cheese! Looking forward to returning when next in the area.

Wow. Had the 2 course Sunday carvery, with my wife. The main course was really delicious, and the veg was delectable. We both had the apple crumble with custard, that was to die for. The crumble topping was a proper crumble. So full, I feel like seeing if I could book a room just to sleep it off will be back again with friends and family. Great food, in amazing surroundings. If I could, I would mark it more than 5.

Came for Sunday Lunch and was not disappointed! Went for pork, which was super tender and tasty! Great portion sizes and super friendly service! Will certainly be back

We have ate Sunday lunch here for many years with no complaints always Fabulous food and service but when we went today the place was practically empty at 2 pm on a Sunday which is unusual we didn’t order a starter just went for the main meal they only had rare beef and half a chicken as meat the vegetable selection was very poor to what we expect from the lamphey when we sat down to eat our food we all tasted it and it was stone cold the meat was so tough you couldn’t cut it and it was tasteless I complained to a waitress and she informed me they had been taken over in April but she would inform the chef we had no feedback from the chef so I went to the bar and spoke to a Josh who was the manager he apologised for the meal and informed us others had complained to we only paid for our drinks and not the food as it was left this is a shame as we loved it here but we will never return complete shambles of a place with tasteless horrible expensive food staff couldn’t care either was never asked if our meal was ok I think they knew what the answer would be avoid at all costs terrible terrible place

Went here for sunday lunch , was left very disappointed, the beef was a tough as old boots. The other choice was half a chicken which isnt the best when you are taking childen out with you ,should have been a breast of chicken. The yorkshire puddings were as hard as rocks. The veg was cold and tastless. When it came to the pudding we had apple crumble with custard, the custard was stone cold and had to be sent back, one of us wanted ice cream instead of custard but that was not possible. Will not be going back here in a hurry. Total waste of money for food that we could not eat.

We had my dad's wake here brilliant service couldn't do enough for us. The buffet was second to none plenty of everything,one of the best I have had. Booked for a family of 16 Sunday lunch. Again the food was excellent service was good. Will definitely go back again. Well done to you all.

We’ve not been to Lamphey Hall for a few years and it will be a good few years before returning. Absolutely dreadful meal. The steak which is supposed to be a ribeye was more like a rump from a very old cow and not served with any veg just frozen fries and a dubious peppercorn sauce. One of our party ordered a baked Alaska for dessert and it’s fair to say it certainly didn’t originate in Alaska! It was a very dry sponge with a dollop of jam in the centre. Another had a brownie which was frozen in the middle and impossible to cut with a spoon. I can honestly say that this was the worst meal any of us has had and for the privilege we paid well over £100 for 4

Great tasting food. We are vegetarians. Visited on the evening of the 12th of Sept with my Husband. Excellent Vegetarian / Vegan Options. Just great! Plenty to choose from. Thanks to the Head Chef who explained all the vegetarian/ vegan options and to the other staff who served. Wish we had discovered the Lamphey Hall Hotel & Restaurant earlier on in our stay!

Great for drinks casual dining or special occasion. We went down for a casual drink and stayed most of the night great time.

On Monday 28th August 2023 we had the privilege of a most varied and delicious `Taster Menu 'of Michelin Star quality cooked and served to us by Josh Vaughan. There was a very varied range of wine on offer and the food, particularly the beef starter and the duck breast main course were superb. It was all superb! We highly recommend a visit for Dinner to the Lamphey Hall Hotel.

The restaurant was excellent. 'The Taste of the Sea' menu was ideal for us (there is another menu offering a range of other dishes). The fish menu offered a range of four / five dishes with a choice of sauces. I was served a sizeable chunk of hake with a prawn and white wine sauce which was beautifully cooked, delicious and reasonably priced; as such, it was certainly the most enjoyable meal I have eaten for a long time. Other members of the family including children aged from 2 to 13 ate a variety of dishes from the menu. The staff were very friendly and helpful while the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed.

Swrvice was terrible! We were there for nearly 2 hours and only had one course. From being seated it took 15inutes just to get the menu. I would understand if they were busy however there were only our table and 1 other in the restaurant. We ordered 2 childrens meals which came on red hot plates but with no veg. We kept having to remind the waitress of items we had ordered which had been forgotten. Non of the meats were cooked to what we had ordered. We had 2 lots of mussels which were very over cooked and clearly not fresh. When we asked for the bill we were told to go the bar as it would be quicker. We wanted to split the bill, however the waitress couldn't work out how much we each needed to pay. Overall it was a very average and disappointing meal. Not once were we asked if everything was OK with the meal. Won't be visiting again

I’m not sure what’s happened to this place but we used to love it and visit for all of our special family occasions , sadly we will not be returning. The menu is somewhat misleading as it is all over priced bought in processed rubbish...

We were not guests at the hotel so can't comment on the rooms. Had a great dinner here recently. Both had mussels but great seafood menu available. Very reasonable and excellent service. Would recommend

Fast and friendly service. I had hake and it was the best meal I had during my time in the area. We felt well looked after.

This was a really good find, the staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic. I was a little indecisive about what to choose off the menu and Josh - chap behind the bar - mentioned an off menu surf and turf, I went for this and my wife went for the chunky brisket burger both did not disappoint these were gorgeous. Apologies for the half eaten dishes on the pictures but we had just finished a 6hr drive and was ravenous! 😃 For breakfast I had the kippers, and my wife had the full Welsh breakfast, again both was fantastic. If I was to nitpick it would be that the room we stayed in was a little dated, and the bathroom light was on sensors which turned off when you are in the shower, had to wave hand outside the cubical to reactivate, but little things like this just made me smile. Would definitely stay here again 👍

Such a shame - this place used to be great for food, but now serves processed rubbish at ridiculous prices. We couldn't wait to leave and left half our food.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, the breakfast was very tasty and the surroundings of the hotel were very pleasant. The decor inside the hotel however, is very dated and could do with modernising. The mattress on my bed was so soft that it offered no support and was very uncomfortable (The three family members who were also staying in the hotel, also felt the same way with their mattresses). I could feel the springs underneath, so that was quite unpleasant and it didn't make for a comfortable nights sleep. It wasn't an awful stay by any means and this review is based purely on my personal experience.

Excellent carvery, friendly professional service 👍

Held my sisters baby shower at this venue, we was told that we had sole use of the room which you would expect when paying over £300 to do so, when we arrived we gound the room to have been double booked so we had to share the room with another party, and end up being 37 of us crammed in to a very small space we was unable to do all things intend at the baby shower due to lack of space, we did speak to staff about this situation and was basically told there is nothing they could do one member of staff tried her up most to help us separate our party from the other as guest from other party where originally walking through ours to get to the bar managed wasnt very helpful, we also had to wait 15 minuets in arrival for who im assuming was the chef to finish making her vlog in the room we was using, before we could set up , , the one good point was the the buffet was lovely

I wanted to get away for a couple of days and relax.. My room was nice and the service was really friendly and welcoming, breakfast was tasty and I was looked after for everything I needed! I also had a meal in the restaurant which was very nice too! If your looking for a quiet break on your own, or a quiet romantic place as a couple, where they make you feel at home, this is a good place! The surrounding area was nice too, but it was very wet weather so I never got chance to explore! I enjoyed my stay.

Nice place, decor very appealing. Starters very nice and very good apple pie for dessert. Carvery was disappointing. Lamb was pulled and put in gravy, would have been nicer to have carved slices for a carvery meal. Vegetables nothing special. Too much gravy put on meal, would prefer to add my own, so I can have the amount I would like on my meat not over the whole meal.

Went for lunch between Christmas and New Year. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good sized portions of tasty food.

An excellent, comfortable, welcoming, quiet weekend despite a busy Sunday lunch trade. A slight hitch over the evening meal was quickly overcome and I was well looked after by excellent, caring staff.

Good size twin room with a shower as requested, Good breakfast with plenty of choice, Evening Menu maybe a bit pricey but food was good, Free parking on site, the hotel was in the countryside but less the a mile from the main road and easy to get to. All in all a Good 5 day break.

Festive tea was delicious but the experience as a whole was all over the place. We were booked for 12 but staff thought we were only booked for 11. The issue was quickly resolved but it was a bit of a downer to begin with....

Smashing stay with great accommodation, lovely food and homely welcome!

Arrived 2235 and the doors were closed and lights turned off. No call from reception to advise where keys would be. Had to get let in by a guest and found a key behind the front desk. Topped it off with leaving a tub of expensive face cream on the bathroom mirror shelf and when I rang back to ask if it was handed in our found it in the room, the answer was no, its not there. Very frustrating. Stayed a few times now over the last year or so but wont stay again. Shame, could be a nice place this.

A little investment in customer service might help improve the Lamphey Hall. I was not overly impressed with intermittently functioning old school door locks that required assistance on multiple occasions, definitely a safety concern (on checkout I was assured that the locks were in the process of being replaced that week) but I felt that merely by asking for assistance I was being difficult and I did not feel welcome at this establishment, so much so that I changed my dinner plans and went elsewhere for the evening. The area the hotel is in has many amazing places to visit, so perhaps it was merely my misfortunate to get a poor read on this visit and others will find a perfectly charming establishment. Try for yourself and see what you think.

Worst Carvery in the world!! Went here for a Carvery on the 16th Oct 2022. I have always loved a Carvery and was looking forward to having one. Unfortunately this was a massive disappointment and the worst carvery I have ever experienced. The staff were curt and grumpy - very unwelcoming. The meat was dry, poor cuts and very meagre portions. Roasties were the least crispy roast potatoes I've every had. Veg over cooked and to top it off the gravy was added in such a way that everything was swimming in it (& it was poor gravy). All in it was absolutely awful. The staff must realise how terrible it is as not a single one asked us how our meal was. Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs

Had a lovely stay recently at Lamphey Hall Hotel. Rooms nice, the staff were lovely and accommodating. Stayed for food and it was excellent. One suggestion, portions were very big, wish I could of ate it all. Highly recommend.

Room was ok as expected. Cleaning wasn't. Breakfast (off a menu) was disappointingly cooked, everything covered in grease. Cold buffet consists of milk, cereal and carton of brand juice. Overpriced for the 2 night stay taking in consideration the above.

Popped in for a lunchtime coffee on Father's Day when it was very busy with restaurant service, which was not a problem at all if we were happy to use the outdoor seating.

Lovely dog friendly hotel. The room was a good size and bathroom had a lovely big bath tub. Staff were very welcoming and the food was great. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend

Had a very nice meal in a nice setting.

Lovely place and in a great position to visit tourist attractions. Very polite and helpful staff in both reception area on arrival and serving breakfast. Room was comfortable (quadruple room, 2 singles and a large double). Breakfast was good, lovely fresh cooked breakfast with juices and cereals to choose from. (No fresh fruit though). We had a meal in the restaurant as it was quite far to walk to the nearest town. The food was really good with adequate portions in both the adult and children's meals. Arrived quickly and very tasty. We booked this place as it was close to the Manor wildlife park, it was only a ten minute drive and extremely convenient as we went back to the same area the day after to the dinosaur park. Would definitely return if visiting this are area.

We had an amazing weekend stay at Lamphey Hall Hotel this weekend. We had our main evening meal there on Friday which was delicious!! A really good start. The bar is awesome and the photos don't do it justice. It's comfy, the drinks are top quality. All the beers on draught were perfect. We relaxed every morning and late afternoon in the bar whilst planning our time in Tenby. Breakfasts are made to order and taste great - I ate the Full Welsh Breakfast and you can tell all the food is really good quality. The rooms and beds are really commutable. I don't usually sleep to well in hotels but we felt right at home here and we all slept really well. The rooms are clean, well maintained and roomy. We really enjoyed our time here and all the staff including the owner made us feel really welcome. We will be visiting Tenby again and we will be staying here again as it was such a good Hotel. Thank you so much from me and my family :)
