Very nice Pub,great atmosphere, good food and drinks! The staff are friendly enough. We visit London quite frequently so this is a good pub to remember.

AVOID this place if you have kids. Very poor experience Visited the pub at 5.30pm on a Friday afternoon with my wife and 10-year old daughter during the Easter holidays. After purchasing a round of drinks and taking a seat in the back room downstairs, the barmaid informed us we would have to stand in the courtyard outside because children are not allowed in the pub! There's no signage in the pub to inform customers of this before they order and ironically the website claims the pub is 'family friendly'...!!! Top tip if you're visiting Covent Garden with the kids and fancy a pint. Give this place a miss and visit the Salisbury round the corner instead where you'll be made welcome.

A very old historic pub with lots of people. The atmosphere was very good and the food exactly as I expected.

The most awful food. Not at all good value. We had whitebait which was such a small portion it was embarrassing. The leek tart was just like a piece of flat bread sitting underneath dry topping, it was accompanied with a miserable scattering of lettuce, not the promise on the menu. The burger and chips were also very poor quality and the onion rings were, although impressive to look at were greasy and pretty tasteless. The staff were nice. Won’t be going back. Way overpriced for the quality.

I just went to this pub and had a fantastic experience. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, the service was top-notch, and the food and drinks were absolutely delicious. I would definitely suggest this pub to anyone in need of a chill spot to kick back and de-stress.

Decent pub. Fits into my historic ideal of an English pub. Slightly musty smell as others have said but it's an old building and an old pub as others have mentioned so to be expected. Fuller's pub so a good range of beer and some great bottled stuff too. Didn't try the food so can't comment. Interesting mix of Londoners and tourists which is good.

I have fond memories of going here, so I am leaving a review of my own accord. I made a reservation, was directed to the second floor, and ordered fish and chips, meat pie seasoned with London Pride beer, pickled onions, and a drink. Fish and chips are delicious. The staff asked if I needed sauce, so I asked for ketchup and malt vinegar. It's a delicacy when sprinkled with malt vinegar. The meat pie was delicious, but the creamy mashed potatoes and gravy that came with it were so delicious. The staff were friendly and took good pictures.

Very busy pub in Covent Garden London, nice lit fire on the saloon bar adding that cosy pub feel. However the toilets leave a lot to be desired, the gents was proper rank, I’ve seen cleaner at football grounds. As you go up the stairs to the dining area I’m guessing that’s the ladies…words fail me, door left wide open tissue over the floor. Very off putting if you are dining upstairs looking at that as you walk down.

We went to have wine and didn't eat. The pub is beautiful. The typical English style from many years ago. The great atmosphere. It was full of people.

Another lovely Pub. A bit hidden, but not a secret. Sometimes it’s really busy, which makes the flair. Enjoy good food upstairs in a quieter floor. Great place.

Our last night in London on a first time visit. It was Sunday cold, wet, hungry, thirsty, and loving our time wondering all over London! We happened upon this wonderful pub from a narrow corridor off the alley... it was the perfect place to warm up and have dinner! The staff and patrons were very friendly, the bartenders talked through a few gins and beers, made recommendations...we enjoyed the roast meat plate and Yorkshire pudding. Local or not, I hope you love it as much as we did. We plan to make it back!

Staff are very rude! I could not suggest anyone to go this place!

We dropped by for lunch at 2.30 today. Upstairs. Both staff looked unhappy and the greeting was “ do you have a reservation “! The girl behind the bar “ coldly “pointed that we could have the small table in the corner. After some time, the waiter came by to take the order. We asked for a beer… he replied…” we don’t have that!” A pub … no beer???? He was not listening! Anyway… we ordered. Fish and chips plus pie. Food arrived. Looks and taste good. Waitress asked if we required sauces. We said everything… she literally rolled her eyes! Anyway , a customer came in. Sat by the window. He wanted to open the window as it was stuffy. Waitress immediately said nobody wants the window open. I had to interrupt her as she had a slight attitude… I said we could have the window open since it’s stuffy. She shouted from behind the bar…” I’m going to close it if I feel cold!!!!” She is wearing a belly bearing sleepless top! I said… of course you can. It’s your room. She answered… Yes! The solo customer decided not to dine and told her she was rude In short… these two staff are totally disinterested in what they are doing. No smiles. No greeting. No nothing. A real shame since the food is good. Management should correct this as front liners represent the values of any establishment. And this is not the experience we want. And we will cancel our Sunday Roast lunch too!!!!

A typical English tavern, great to stop and have a beer. It has live music depending on the day and time upstairs.

A great fish and chips restaurant! Plus, a beer restaurant! The atmosphere on the second floor was nice, the staff was very friendly, and the fish and chips were moist, crispy, and delicious, and I thought I was going to be full. Also, the staff was kind and sensible, and since I was not good at English, they made a lot of effort to explain things accurately. The bathroom was also clean.

Brilliant little historic pub just off Covent Garden - well worth a visit

A very old pub, in 2023 it celebrated its 400 yr anniversary, in a hard to find special place. Quite close to Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. The ambiance was super, you feel the ages/centuries this pub has been there. Very, very nice place to be. We enjoyed a couple of beers, and sat and talked. The music was not loud, so you have no trouble talking to eachother. The picture shows name plates, tagged along the bar. Don't miss this one, when visiting London.

A London holiday without the pub is not an option. The drink selection was great. The skotch egg was absolutely amazing. If you want to eat you should definitely make a reservation.

I took someone here for their first Sunday lunch and they loved it! I had the chicken and stuffing roast, they had the beef roast and we shared some Marmite roast potatoes. The staff were very friendly, and even though the dining room upstairs is quite small it wasn't too noisy nor too dark, and had a good atmosphere.

Nice cozy pub in Convent Garden. They had an amazing Tiny Rebel British IPA called Yippee Try-yay. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We didn't have anything to eat but they do serve food if you fancy something to eat

A really historical pub with a real classic British pub vibe! Unfortunately when we went it had a slightly damp smell; may have put my other party members off a bit but for me it made the whole experience more authentic!

Atmospheric pub, just as one imagines an English pub should be. Very good food, everything we tried was very tasty and especially the double pie, which was not a pie but meat with mash, wonderfully baked. The guys who served us politely and with a smile.

I booked this place because they offer scotch eggs. Every food was very delicious, they have many kinds of local ales. The ground floor (pub area) was packed with locals, but first floor(dining area) was quiet and had friendly atmosphere.

Came to London to meet a friend and decided to meet here for convenience and the history. It is a short walk from Covent Garden and tucked away. The effort was worth it - everything about this pub was excellent. It truly represents the great British pub with history, and great food - we had the Scotch Eggs which were delicious. The beer is well kept with a good choice of ales, and the bar staff were extremely knowledgeable about the beer, and friendly and helpful. If you’re a CAMRA member show your card to get 20% off the beer!

Quite odd experience. Yes it is the correct place. We were charged £69 for a round of 4 drinks. Asked to see the receipt and they were very cagey. Turns out there was 4 additional drinks we didn’t order on there. The barman was clearly on coke and super aggressive. After quite a faf managed to get a refund on those after him saying ‘we are going to look at the CTV’ we were like do then and you’ll see we had 4 drinks.

My favorite pub in London. I've been coming here for more than 25 years. Only 25% of the London taxi drivers know where it is without giving the street address. This means it is not packed full of tourists, but it is still busy with locals. Wonderful selection of cask beer. Staff is always friendly.

It’s a traditional British pub - which I love - The food was pleasant we had fish & chips. Inside is cosy and warm, classic pub interiors. Something can be done to improve toilet conditions such as automated room spray etc. The staff was very kind and helpful.

We visited this pub as I had looked it up, we liked it a lot, it's very old and has lots of history, please never change it and make it modern, Guinness needs to be better 😀.

Didn't eat there but, the food looked great. Such a calm atmosphere amongst the nearby buzz of tourism and a lot of history [1623] good beers, wines and fun efficient team. Cosy so not heaps of tables but a definite recommend. A Fullers Pub so consistently 👌🏼

A nice pub to stop by and have a pint. I had a a very good Sunday Roast over there. It was quite busy, so it would worth book a table in advance if you want to eat there.

Absolutely stunning experience, best quality of food and service. Especially the scotch egg with a sauce was just amazing. Highly recommend. And also fish and chips, beef pie was just great too.
