Lakeside Bistro in North West Leicestershire

First time visiting and will definitely be going again! Lovely clean environment food all looked amazing! Staff were extremely friendly… cant think if anything negative to say !

I visited Lakeside Bistro as a family party of 10 adults and 2 children today for Mother’s Day lunch. The food and service was excellent. The setting is lovely, overlooking a lake. I highly recommend anyone to visit here. You may need to book as it’s very popular due to the excellent food and service.

Visited today! Lovely little bistro, beautiful setting right by the lake (as the name suggests)! Friendly quick service and gorgeous food! Only had goats cheese ciabatta, chips, salad & rice pudding but came away absolutely stuffed! Food was amazing! Definitely will be going back- soon!

Had the full English breakfast there today. Staff delightful. Price ok. The venue was clean, warm and very welcoming. Unfortunately the food let the staff down whilst the breakfast looked good it was served almost cold, the toast was two pieces of dry hard bread not toasted at all. Sorry Lakeside not good enough.

Visited with friends. A really good setting and atmosphere. The staff were very good and the food was brilliant with plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend the meat pie, delicious. Will certainly visit again when next in the area.

What a little gem. We arrived at 2:25 on Saturday lunchtime to be told the main menu stopped at 2:30, but don’t worry we’ll wait for you, brilliant. We sat outside on decking next to a small lake and had some great food. Steak and Ale pie and Brisket on bubble and squeak. Large portions and reasonably priced. Friendly and attentive staff. Well done, first class.

Genuinely lovely cafe serving an upmarket breaky and didn't mind us being in sports clothing after a nearby parkrun. 100% will be back. Also lovely view and feel to the place

Afternoon tea was lovely. The sandwiches were freshly made and a good choice of fillings also included quiche and pork pie. A choice of different teas. The cakes were Great. One of the best afternoon teas I've had. Service is always very good.

Visited this lovely cafe today . Would recommend making reservations before, though! Quick stop for a coffee and some board games. Peaceful area. Nice view of the lake. It looked like a lot of regulars frequent the place!

Just come back from a fantastic afternoon tea. A friend gave us some vouchers so we decided to go for our wedding anniversary. I booked it late and we had a table with no view, unfortunately. Everything was lovely. The sandwiches, scones and quiche. The fruit was lovely and fresh, but the panna cotta was a bit firm. We had a refill of our lovely tea, but we had to ask for a box to take our scones and cakes home in. The staff here are always friendly and helpful.

Came here for my mum’s 70th birthday for the vintage afternoon tea. Being dairy intolerant means that often afternoon tea is boring however, despite letting them know very last minute, it was the best dairy free afternoon tea I have had. I felt like I was eating what the others were. The staff were friendly and accommodating and we had a lovely time. View was great too.

I took my friend here for afternoon tea to celebrate her 30th birthday. The minute we walked in I knew it would be good as we were surrounded by home made cakes. I was not disappointed. Highly recommend here for afternoon tea. Amazing cakes, great sandwiches and all for a reasonable price. Even my friends dairy free afternoon tea was a delight!

Visited for first time for my father-in-law's 90th birthday. Becky, Ruby and team were extremely helpful, the food was excellent - and good value! - and the 'birthday-boy' really enjoyed it. We'd travelled 200+ miles to be there, and had to arrange a 'secret' celebration, based only on location, and web-reviews, so it was a great relief to find that everything was so perfect. We've rarely encountered a venue where there is such a sense of a staff team all working together, and offering really tasty, reasonably-priced food. Thoroughly recommended!

Such an excellent place to visit. The staff are very warm friendly and obliging. The atmosphere is really inviting. The meals are well presented, very tasty and generously proportioned. The fishing lake immediately adjacent to the Bistro is very well looked after and is a very pleasant environment to be in. My wife and I are on holiday in the area for a week, fortunately we found the Bistro on our first day - we will definitely be eating here more this week

Super busy… as always but the staff are always friendly and try to accommodate you. The people that work here are so lovely! The food was delicious too. We will 100% be returning and would recommend! Though if you want to sit inside, make sure to book.

A lovely place, by the lake. Traditional food, with very personal service.

Can't really rate it properly as we popped in hoping to get an all day breakfast type meal or just a bacon sandwich, but the lunch menu didn't list anything like it, so popped elsewhere. But have eaten breakfast here before in the past, always good but meals are a little pricey from what we saw. Nice view by the little fishing lake though. It's always busy when I've visited here, so the food must be good. Cakes look good.

It's a lovely place, food, staff, atmosphere all lovely. I would definitely recommend to friends and family, if you like fishing there is a lake at the side of the bistro you can have your breakfast, really lovely place especially on a lovely sunny day.

I'm a little dubious of commenting. This place is such a hidden gem it would be nice to keep it a secret but the food is just that fantastic that I have to share , the staff are jovial and the view is picturesque, wish I could give more stars . Well worth a visit .

Lovely restaurant overlooking a lovely little lake with some inter ducks and water fowl. We sat inside and enjoyed coffee and cake . All very nice and well worth a visit.

Lovely food, great service, good choice of quality gluten free food. I ordered a gluten free ciabatta, normally I wouldn't hold much hope of gluten free bread tasting nice, however this tasted so good that I had to double check it was actually gluten free! Can't wait to go back and try something else off the menu. It's a very busy place so I would recommend booking in advance

Amazing little hidden gem placed near Moira. Great food, service and atmosphere for a good price which is hard to come by these days. Dog friendly with clean toilets alongside a fishing lake. Would recommend for a Sunday dinner or light lunch.

We had the great pleasure of working with Jo, Becky and all the team to organise my sister's wedding. From the original "Do you think you can do this?" To the actual day, nothing was too much trouble. They even organised the disco for the evening. Everything was personalised to their needs including individual plates for dietary requirements. The restaurant looked fabulous all organised by the team and the food was amazing as always. The weather was great so the wedding party stayed mainly outside around the beautiful lake, a glorious setting. The staff on the night couldn't do enough to make the evening so special. Wonderful memories made.

Went to the most amazing wedding at the Lakeside Bistro. The food was amazing! The pulled pork cobs and spring rolls were definitely a hit! The staff are the most amazing and welcoming people and truly went above and beyond to give the bride and groom an amazing evening. The evening was filled with laughter, love and brilliant dancing! Couldn’t praise the Lakeside Bistro and its staff enough. X

Love going to Lakeside, such a lovely setting whether you sit indoors or out. The staff are fabulous, so friendly, the food is really nice. We always call in during our walks at least twice a week.

Popped in today the staff were lovely sat outside food very tasty arrived quickly Had previously been once before lockdown when moved into the area and we were shocked we had taken so long to return well done everyone will definitely be back thank you

Arrived just after closing time. The lady was very nice and asked what we wanted. She made us a cup of tea which was very nice sat by the lake. Will return for a breakfast but remember to book as it gets busy.

Lakeside Bistro hosted afternoon tea for my mums 90th birthday. There were 40 plus adults and kids. The event was perfect. The setting, food and staff were marvellous and made it such a memorable afternoon for my mum. Thank you!

I hadn’t booked a table but called on the off chance, as it was about 1.45 and I was on my own I was fortunate enough to be given a table. As always the food did not disappoint- freshly prepared & nicely presented. Service was impeccable as has been my experience in the past. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit when I’m in the area again.

Another very enjoyable Inner Wheel event in the company of Inner Wheel friends.

Mix of seating - inside, and covered/uncovered outside. Reasonably busy but they were coping well. Dogs allowed outside. Roast beef roll was very nice.

Everything about our visit was lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Area was clean and the food is beautifull! Would recommend for a Sunday lunch.

Turned up as dog friendly only to be told, in a sneering fashion, dogs must be outside only. To me this is not dog friendly but dogs if you must!!

Looked nice. But not dog friendly as it claims you cannot take dog into cafe. Too cold to sit outside. So didn't get to try anything. Quite rude and unwelcoming.

Came here for a birthday lunch with my wife. Only to find a group of friends waiting to join us. It was very busy but still the staff could no do enough for us. Menu selection is good. I have not had a good suet pud for ages. If you want something lighter there are sandwiches too. Had a great time. Many thanks. Will be back in the summer..........

What a brilliant café with home-home-made food, in a lovely setting and with friendly staff… what more could you ask for. I had the beef and mushroom suet pudding followed by lemon meringue pie and both were absolutely delicious and as I said, home-made. I only wish we lived nearer and could visit more often….. highly recommended!

Outstanding service and delicious home cooked food. We had Roast Turkey and the trimmings followed by a very tasty cheesecake - would 100% recommend! Parking was easy, nice clean toilets. The atmosphere is so welcoming Looking forward to return in the New Year

What a beautiful meal. The bowls club I play for have now held their pre Christmas get together here for a few years. This place is great for a 3 course meal or a piece of cake and a latte. As the name LAKESIDE suggests it's situated by a small lake and is a beautiful place to sit and pass an hour while you nibble away and sip a refreshing drink. They do have alcoholic beverages as well as usual soft drink options, tea, coffee hot chocolate etc. It has a large car park and several disabled parking spaces right next to the bistro/ cafe. Inside has seating for around 40 people and outside a similar number some under cover. Highly recommend this place to everyone..... Beautiful.!!

Cappuccino wasn't a Cappuccino. It was a ordinary coffee with a bit of flat froth on top. They really need to learn how to make a latte and a Cappuccino. Baked potatoes were that cool the butter wouldn't melt. Shame as a nice location.

Bit disappointed overall starter's where great but mostly deep fried at least the ones I choose but between the server not knowing the food or drink menu at all (she did say she was new ) when ordering and the driest inedible belly pork I've ever had and un cooked bubble and squeak really let the place down .And I at 37 was the probably one of the youngest guest in the room any poor dear wouldn't get their teeth into this dish or if they did they would never get them out again
