Lafibule Moroccan Restaurant in Birmingham

Really nothing to write home about and nothing major to complain about just average. It is warm and has quite a good atmosphere. Service was somewhat slow and the waiting staff not over friendly. I had been waiting to try this restaurant for some months and thought valentines night would be ideal. It was a fixed menu and I think over priced for the 3 courses offered (£45 per person) I just expected more after reading the reviews and I certainly would not rush back in a hurry. I will add it is not licenced and you can take your own drink.

The staff were super friendly & helpful, the food was amazing! I had a lamb tagine it was delicious, with lots of lamb. I would highly recommend & will definitely be going back. Take your own alcohol, & really reasonable prices to have a great

Excellent food, good veggie choice. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Owner/manager has a great sense of humour! If you want good food and a good welcome this is the place to go.

A very pleasant meal here. The food is tastly and hot (where appropriate) and the service charming and prompt. Though we don't get here often (largely because car parking in Moseley id awful!) we've never had a bad meal and always enjoyed ourselves.

My wife and I had a meal this evening. We weren’t sure what to expect, as from outside the restaurant looks quite ordinary and plain. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered into a vibrantly decorated restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The service is excellent, food delicious and very reasonably priced for the large portion sizes. Can’t recommend enough. We will definitely be returning.

A mid-week dinner. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, and we were greeted by the owner. The food – as ever- was delicious, I enjoyed the merguez sausage (but was actually a bit jealous of my partner’s crab starter). I had Poulet Atlas (chicken & Goats cheese) with couscous and she had a lamb and apricot tagine. Everything was good (and, frankly, much better than we’ve eaten in Marrakesh). Very reasonable prices and BYOB.

It's not very often when I look at the menu I could have had 5 different starters, mains and desserts, such was the quality on course. Had s super scallops with spinach in a chilli sauce. Delightful. Then mains of lamb with yoghurt, sage and mint with some couscous. Lovely. Finished with mango and passion fruit cheesecake. Fabulous. Thirty pounds. I will be back.

Another place recommended to me by friends. Easy to book and although early we were greeted by staff and shown to our table. The menu is amazing and I literally wanted to eat everything on there. For starters we had Mussels and calamari which were well cooked and very flavoursome. Houmous, obviously home made and beautiful. Sardines, well cooked but I would have liked a little more spice. Mains We had three different tagines and the vegetarian cous cous. All beautiful. This place is highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our night at La Fibule, it was our third time here and the food is as delicious as I remember. Service was good and the atmosphere very friendly. Food is delicious. I definitely recommend.

I was really looking forward to visiting La Fibule with friends after reading the good reviews it had on Trip Advisor, but our experience was not what I’d hoped for. We had an early reservation, so the restaurant was empty and we were told to just sit where we wanted which was fine. When we sat down, no menus were offered. When I asked for menus, our waiter was rude. The food we ordered came fairly promptly, but the hummus I’d ordered was not seasoned and bland. In fact the Tagine I ordered for my main dish was equally bland. My friends were happier with their selections, so it might have just been bad luck on my part. After we were served our mains, our waiter seemed to disappear. We would have liked to have ordered a coffee after, but just chose to get the bill after waiting so long for our waiter to return. So, bland food and poor service mean I won’t be visiting La Fibule again.

Love the food here. We have tried a varied selection & everything is outstanding. The Manager Mohammad is also very friendly. I have recently returned from Morocco & I think the food is as good here it’s very Authentic. You can also bring your own alcohol.. Try it you will not be disappointed.

We had a terrible experience here last Saturday (02/07) which is a shame as I had heard good things. I rang in advance to make a booking for 3 people for 745pm which they said would be fine. On arriving at the restaurant they gave us a table for 6 people as they didn’t have any smaller tables. 15 mins into the service (our drinks had arrived but the food was yet to come) they told us that a group of 6 had arrived and asked us to move to a table which was for 2 people. We told them we’d be happy to move but to a table for 3 as the 2 person table was tiny. We had refused but they kept forcing us to move to the 2 person table, at points being rude. Eventually they asked us to leave the restaurant if we were not willing to move to the 2 person table. This is appalling behaviour from an established restaurant to be honest - we were left hungry with no reservations on a Saturday evening. This restaurant books above capacity and should be avoided at peak times.

We had a lovely evening (Saturday 9th). The outside belies the beautiful authentic interior and following a warm friendly welcome we had a superb meal for three. All courses were exemplary and not a fault in any of them. My wife is allergic to wheat and barley gluten and this was not a problem as most of the menu was gluten free anyway with lots of dishes available to her, which was great. When back anywhere near Moseley, this will be our ‘head to’ place to eat. Thank you to the chef and staff.
