Staff seen mocking customers, appalling food, tried stunting day before, hair in food. No better experience at this venue

Food is not bad, but the owners are a little greedy. Staff cannot even pass between the tables. Draught beer was warm. Pasta sauce way too dry. Fish could have been from Iceland. If you want a good Italian experience maybe not here? Staff never even asked how our food was. Enough said? Also, issue with arithmetic on bill

Eggs Benedict was good but service was so slow and the host was disinterested. Wee guy upstairs was first class though. Too many tables is greed and dampens the experience overall. Less is more.

Terrible experience today staff very unfriendly terrible cramped service unprofessional would not go back have been here a few times this will be the last I was embarrassed because I took a family member .

Been to La Vita loads of times in the past and it’s our go to place when in Glasgow. Great service and even better food. Very reasonably priced too for a city centre restaurant.

We have dined here a few times so we knew if we were seated on the 1st floor it would be very cramped but we went anyway because the food was always good. We both ordered the Italian Roast Porcetta and a bottle of Pino Grigio. At no point did anyone speak or smile at us apart from taking the order when they had to ask what we wanted! I’m posting a picture of what we ordered from the menu. In reality we received 1 Yorkshire pudding, sautéed vegetables which were so salty they were inedible, cubed potato’s the size of a thumbnail which we assumed were the roast potato’s. The rolled pork was actually rolled fat with tiny pieces of pork that you had to dig out of the fat, simply awful and for the pleasure of this we paid £15.95 each. Again, nobody came to ask how we were doing, absolutely shocking service. As we left I reported our experience to the maitre d at the door and he said he’d let the chef know. This is the first time we have left a restaurant without leaving a tip as I believe in paying for good food and good service of which this was neither. We were so so disappointed and probably won’t be back.

Lovely Italian restaurant right at the corner of Queen Street. Ideal location. Service was fast and efficient. Staff pleasant and attentive. Food portions were very generous. Prices were reasonable and competitive. Great window seat watch the world go by. Only negative 1 toilet for the ladies.

My husband and i came here for our anniversary meal the staff were all very polite despite it being quite busy the food was nice only thing i could complain about was the wait time but we werent bothered will be back

Fantastic. Food was flavoursome. Ambiance was perfectly right. Staff were friendly and attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed experience. A range of food options which ech seemed to be equally enjoyable. Flavour to stew was brilliant and pasta sauces were rich with taste but not too heavy. Worth a visit at any time of day whether poping in for coffee and cake or having any meal, service is equally excellent and experience enjoyable.

Been 3 times to this restaurant in the last 3 month's , always having the eggs benedict. First time I went the eggs were lovely, second time they were average, then sorry to say the last time I went the whole plate of food was terrible. Firstly the eggs were overcooked, the bacon was like leather and lastly the hollandaise sauce was too thick and very sharp . I mentioned this to the waiter who did apologise but I did have to leave most of the meal as I wasn't enjoying it. No more was said by the staff,so I paid and left. Sorry but a truthful review

Everything we ordered was delicious and authentic Italian. We are vegetarians and options were limited but 10/10 on taste. Lip smacking pasta, one of the best I have had across the world. The pesto focaccia, the pizza, was all delicious. Service was quick & courteous. The tables of 2 on the top floor very cramped.. next to the stairs.

Service was dreadful, waited 50 minutes between starter and main, tables that sat down after our starter plates taken away had their main before us and all they offered was free soft drinks.

Outstanding service from Stephanie. Chef adjusted Fish and chips to suit my dietary restrictions. Veg mix instead of chips was wonderful. My partner’s roast pork dish was amazing too. Thanks to all. Bravissimo.

Contacted Mario the owner re poor experience at George sq restaurant. Food spilled all over the floor, waitresses crying when trying to eat our dinner.. yet no response. Copied restaurant in too and nothing. Clearly shows how much they think of their customers..

Ottimo ristorante con ottimi piatti. Gli spaghetti alla bolognese erano molto piccanti. Per quanto riguarda il servizio non è per niente cordiale e deve migliorare dall'accoglienza e l'accompagnamento ai tavoli, al servizio e alle rifiniture! Popped in for a meal post a show at the Kings Theatre. Service was quick and staff were pleasant. However the pizza was pretty average and actually quite salty. Would not recommend.

Very rude waitress, younger girl absolutely no manners when my friend wasn’t ready to order her food she basically rolled her eyes and said “I can come back” sarcastically she then advised my husband “it tells you to choose a pasta”…. Sometimes though it’s not...

Mice running up the walls & still serving food. Staff said the know about it & probably coming in through OPEN fire door lect open for toilet access. Unfortunately we had already eaten our meal. I will never eat there again. Place should be closed...

Visited here on Saturday evening, a table of 6. Great authentic Italian feel from you walk in the door, food was top class I had a pizza and 5 different pasta dishes on the table and everyone was really impressed with portion size and taste...

Perfect meal, the food was lovely, the restaurant was very festive and warm feeling, but they do cram people in, 2 tables less would be more comfortable, trying to get to the ladies is like the crystal maze. My issue was when paying for our meal I was asked if I wanted the change, to me that's downright rude. Will definitely go back as the food is terrific, but will be rethinking my tipping policy.

Great atmosphere and the Mia Casa pasta is delicious. However, the menu stated chicken could be substituted for quorn and to ask the waiter which I did. He was very confused and told me the dish comes with all ingredients including chicken. Surely waiting staff...

Steph was excellent couldn't do enough for me, help me with choice from menu due to my diet, then got some staff too sing happy birthday too me. Excellent service food amazing. Will definitely dine there again.

Food/Drink - We were all disappointed with the food. The pate looked like melted ice cream on the plate and did not looking pleasing to the eye. My Manager eats in La Vita in Bishopbriggs so she was looking forward to the Spaghetti Sorrento, however...

" Life is Beautiful " @ La Vita as are the meals and service. They handle the larger demands at this busy time of the year effortlessly. Their traditional italian meals are exceptional but you`ve got to try their traditional scottish breakfast : )

Good food, and the Christmas decorations are top-notch. However, both times I have been there, the experience has been very stressful as the waiters pressure you to order very quickly so they can have the table free for the next customers. I understand there is a time limit, and I promise people can honor it without a waiter coming to the table 4 times in 5 minutes. (Moreover, after ordering whatever to get the waiter off our backs, and eating it quickly, it then took us half an hour to find a waiter to pay so we could leave, and when someone finally came they had an attitude. Where did the urgency go then?) I gave it a second chance, but stress is something I'd like to keep off my dinner menu.

Food inedible and asked to hurry up with our lunch as another booking in 45mins after us! Absolutely dreadful experience

Italian food with lots of options. Got the garlic bread for starter but they’re a bit burnt but still nice, also got calamari, which wasn’t fried enough for our liking, the haggis arancini didn’t have much flavour. The tagliatelle calabrese is very nice lots of sauce and sausage, very flavourful! I really recommend this! My friend had the Quattro stagioni which she found alright. I love how you can get half pasta here, very accommodating. For dessert I had the chocolate covered strawberry tart. The tart is quite dense, is massive portion, I had a lot of whip cream in the middle. My friend got the cheese cake which looking amazing but she found it too sweet. Tried the festive cocktail merry kiss mas, it was very sweet, if you have a sweet tooth it’s be perfect for you. The clausmopolitan is nice. I love the cocktail menu here, you have so many options to choose from. The menu is big with good varieties. There’s plenty of seatings but not much leg room upstairs, the corridors are narrow, the decor is very festive, Craig who served us is great!

We appreciate that December is a busy time of year especially for group bookings but we waited 45 minutes for our starter and 30 minutes for a bottle of wine. When I spoke to the two managers on duty, they said that wasn’t true and...

Ok food but the short haired waitress was incredibly rude and sarcastic which was not appreciated at all.

A few days ago I went to this place as I had heard it was amazing. We go there orders our food and when it arrived the lobster surf and turf wasn’t great the lobster was way overcooked and this wouldn’t have been to much of a problem if we could have got any of the staffs attention but we couldn’t. Not at any point after the food had arrived did we get checked on not until 15 minutes after we all had finished not another drink offered or a quality check or anything this is terrible customer service. Then when a staff member finally come over and we said that the lobster was way overcooked she picked it up didn’t say anything and then left us for 10 minutes when she returned she said she was sorry that it was overcooked and then cleared the table and left. Once I got the bill and could see that the lobster was still full price at £43 when it was not edible I was fuming and when I said to the staff member about it she said there’s nothing she could do as the manager wasn’t in so I payed £43 for a mediocre stake and some mussels. I will not be returning and will be telling others to not go here

Very disappointed. Bad staff, just asked for a taste of the house white wine, declined very rudely. Was asking for some suggestions in vegan, staff did not respond properly. While taking order the staff did not treat properly. Would not come next time.

Have been on numerous occasions for breakfast and meals and has been great . Took our friends today for breakfast , was disappointed, not as good as usual and toast was like hot bread . 😏

Excellent food, Garlic bread with mozzarella is a must I would say. Went for the creamy brocoli chicken pasta which was nice but preferred the Penne arabiatta. Overall had a great time, quite a cozy ambience and service was good.

1. After the manager assigned our seats, the waiter repeatedly insisted on us confirming our places. 2. They slammed the menu onto my table. 3. Sprinkled some black pepper carelessly and left. 4. Handed me a bill that was £15 more than it should be. There's not much to say about a restaurant providing discriminatory service.

Insultingly bad food and service. Waited half an hour on starter plates being collected. Ordered two pizzas and two pastas. The carbonara was passable however the two pizzas and other pasta had to be returned. Pizzas were inedible but removed from bill thankfully. after complaining that my pasta was overpowered by balsamic vinegar, instead of taking off bill and offering apologies instead pointed out that it wasn’t a “drizzle” of balsamic as we’d thought and instead brought the menu to our table to tell us we were wrong instead of acknowledging it was a badly made dish. Staff entirely unhelpful and their behaviour towards us and other members of staff made our entire table deeply uncomfortable.

This is by far my favourite restaurant I’ve ever been to! The theme is so cosy especially with the Christmas decorations now. Staff was very down to earth and lovely. Nice and quiet tables. Amazing food I’ve never had better pasta or pizza in my life😍 Fungi Fussili, chips and Margherita pizza was amazing !

Great pre theatre menu well priced

Visited with friends for dinner. Everything was outstanding, from greeting on arrival,to wine selection,food and service. All 4 of us were full and happy when we left. P.S. try the chocolate cannoli

Always love visiting La Vita It's a favourite for weekday lunch The lunch menu is great value with lots of the favourites from the main menu included I always enjoy the pasta dishes The restaurant is busy but with a nice bustle to it Can sometimes be about warm !

Food was good but the manager’s (I believe that’s what she was since she had on different clothes than rest of the staff) behaviour was impolite. I understand that it was late at about 10.20pm but she could just told us that they weren’t serving if she was just gonna be rude. The restaurant timings show that it’s open till 11 but they had closed the bar by 10.20pm so we couldn’t order any cocktails. My gf wanted to order desserts and coffee but seeing the staff’s behaviour she just wanted to leave after having food. Also there was no check back to see if we wanted anything or if the food was okay or not. Food was good but the service was terrible. Wouldn’t go back.

Excellent as usual, just need a bit more space as the tables are tightly packed.

Come for the first time yesterday and one of the new girls just started her shift, customer service was spot on and overall we really enjoyed the food and experience! would come back again

Food was nice however we were very cramped at the table and the whole of the 2nd floor was cramped to the point people had to move to let other people out. Staff was overstretched. Also ordered potatoes with rosemary & salt and got potatoes with a tomato sauce ages after our mains arrived. In short overly busy.

The food here is okay, the service is okay, but the atmosphere is so jarring. There were so many members of staff gathered at the front of the ground level, they were all so erratic and the place is incredibly noisy. There was constant deliveries coming through the door so it was freezing cold where we were sitting. It was the most chaotic place I've ever eaten, so avoid if you have any kind of sensory issues or if you want a relaxing breakfast/lunch. The staff are nice when you can get their attention but not very attentive, no one approached us after we got our food and we had to flag a waiter to refill our water despite there being at least 8 staff around. The prices are reasonable, they just really need to work on the atmosphere because it's really off putting.

This is such a cute Italian restaurant that looks at authentic as it comes. The food would amazing and for about £13-£14, the size was plenty. Shannon was an amazing waitress, she really looked like she was working the hardest out of anyone there. If we were staying in Glasgow any longer we would come back. They also had gluten free pasta which made my celiac self very happy :)

Visited here yesterday after having being last week and having a good experience. However, I had an issue with the dessert, being that there was an off coloured (green) spot on the Cannoli which appeared to be mold. After complaining, I was informed this was “crystallised fruit” however, there was no other fruit on the Cannoli besides the orange peel. From my knowledge, crystallised fruit does not turn green. The dessert was not deducted from the bill, despite not being returned to me even though they claimed “it was freshly made each day and nothing was wrong with it”. If it had been returned to me I would’ve attached a clear picture but it was disposed of despite “nothing being wrong with it” so in this case, I also should not have been charged for it. The waiter was very friendly regarding the issue and clearly understood my point (so a great service from that person) which the manager was quick to dismiss.

The food was great, however the service was poor, the servers were rude, almost felt uncomfortable.

I went in for the first time with my friends for lunch and the experience was horrible. They charged us for sharing a pizza. It doesn’t matter if you can eat the whole food or share it with your friends and family. What a horrible experience. Coming to the service, it took them 10 mins to give us menus. Didn’t even care to ask if we wanted some water for the table. It was measured and given to some of the people on the table by glass (forget about refilling it). The waiter was the most rude man I’ve ever come across. He was impolite and insensitive. He had a completely different demeanour to a group of white people behind us which makes him a racist as well (our table only had POC). I would never go back to such an environment to dine in. I would not recommend this place for anybody to go.

The espresso martini was terrible

Here with my fiancée for our 2nd anniversary been many times before and always a nice experience but tonight was a shocker. Was seated and ordered drinks 2 minutes later the wait staff took away our menus without us ordering. Starters were fine but my partners main was not pleasant pasta was congealed and chewy very disappointed. It was deducted from the bill but it might be a while before we return which is a shame as it is her fave Italian in the city

Full English breakfast was really good. Eggs Florentine were fine. Cute cafe, the staff was okay.

We are sitting outside just waiting for some friends coming up, and we just order a wine until they will be here, and they made us pay straight away the bill just because we are ordering outside ... It doesn't worth having a glass of wine for £8 ... Sorry, but they made me feel not really welcome 🙃

The food was nice. Service was extremely poor. We received our main courses before we’d received any drinks. They then proceeded to serve us the chocolate cake with whipped cream rather than the advertised ice cream. When queried, they were somewhat shocked that we wanted what was advertised before looking caught out and using whipped cream. The staffing and who was looking after you was extremely confusing, maybe 5/6 different service staff throughout our meal. Food nice but a bit like *organised* chaos.

The service was terrible you spend an hour there just for all the food

Poor quality food, server did not ask if the food was okay despite us not having eaten any of it when we asked for the bill. Even at the end still didn’t ask if everything is okay. Service was slow and uncomfortable considering being 1 of only 3 tables. Ordered a New York pizza with the spicy Italian sausage to which came out with what looked like meatballs (which were also grizzly) and was not even remotely close to a bit of spice! The waiter himself wasn’t even sure it was the correct pizza ! Would not recommend, £40 down the drain.

The Cocktails were very tasty. Unfortunately the food was reheated or something, it was really hot in parts of the dish and cold in others. I asked for Quorn chicken in my dish and it was mixed in with real pieces of chicken. The chefs obviously can’t deal with special dietary requirements.

Italian Restaurant - pizza, pasta. Seemed quite authentic to us ; like it's run by a multi-generation Italian family. There are several floors and steep stairs. I thought the food was very good at lunchtime.

I paid £6.45 for a pint of Peroni and was presented with this!!! I made the staff member taking payment aware of this as we were leaving (obviously whoever's pouring drinks needs educated) and he offered to bring me another half pint!!!

Very busy evening, didn’t have a reservation. Had starters and main, and coffees. Service , speed, food, location was all excellent!

So was really not wanting to write this review but after the poor and very rude experience we had last night it’s only fair to let people know about the service by this restaurant, the main issue we had was the lack of service and how rude the female waitress and male waiter where to us on many different occasions - some of the things we were subjected too was speaking to us very rude and then constantly going upto other members of the staffing team and laughing and pointing at our table - we travelled all the way from the capital Edinburgh and this restaurant was recommended to us by a family member who only lives 5 mins away, firstly our table was situated next to the bar where there was not enough room for the staff to get about so constantly walking past us was very frustrating, secondly the female waitress was just so rude and was acting like she never wanted to be at work on the Sunday - some of the things which came out her mouth while working in hospitality was “how many chips you want 1/5 or 100” one of my younger cousins asked about the location of the toilets and she replied “really!!” Another member of the staff was asked what flavours of cheesecake and he replied “I know know it’s just cheesecake flavour” tbf we have never had such bad service like this and we won’t be ever visiting the restaurant again and in future be letting everyone who wants a Italian in Glasgow to avoid this restaurant - the management did apologise and where very professional and really should take care and an eye out on how the staff who work for them are treating a table or 10 who are paying money to eat some quality food and get some decent service - this place concentrated more on there flower displays then actually caring for customers - none of the 10 eating yesterday will ever visit again !!!! Worst place to eat in Glasgow!
