Food, service and atmosphere were great. I found the opening time was quite confusing though. It is supposed to be open at 11:00 on Sunday, but it isn't open until past 12:00.

I have never left a negative review on trip advisor before, but sadly yesterday's visit to La Tasca was so bad I feel something needs to be done. We booked for a lunchtime meal, having never been to a La Tasca before. Apart from one table for two which left shortly after we arrived the restaurant was completely empty for the whole hour or so we were there. It felt embarrassing and awkward to leave so we ordered the fixed menu despite the rather grubby surroundings. The bread and oil starter was shocking. Two discs of bred each that barely equated to half a thin slice off a white loaf each. The mains were small portions ( we are familiar with Tapas. but hoped that the taste would make up for the quantity. Unfortunately it didn't... Stale tasting congealed tortilla, overcooked ends of chorizo sausage, boiled mushrooms... Nothing was hot and everything lacked flavour. The only condiment available was glass shakers of salt and white pepper and unfortunately they were grubby. We both had a soft drink and the bill was £29 a shocking amount for what we had. We also used the toilets before leaving and both the ladies and gents were filthy... Considering the restaurant was empty that was unacceptable. The stair rail on the way to the toilets was sticky. We left feeling completely ripped off and looking for somewhere to wash our hands! We were shocked to discover this restaurant is part of a chain. Or really needs some serious attention. to the toilets was sti

Came as a group on the pre arranged menu, The seating arrangement was ridiculous, a comment made by several of the group making taking and eating tricky,The whole thing was confusing, regarding getting drinks,And the wait for the cold dry toast start was bad enough, but the mains arrived in a hap, hazzard fashion and was told they didn't have enough dishes so had To put in bigger dishes making service tricky, luckily we were laid back tonite , as tapa is meant to be a leisurely affair , I used to eat regularly in la tasca, Bury st Eds on the specials night, but the whole thing seems to have gone down hill, with non attentive staff,However the food was just about passable for tapas, They knew about the shortage of dishes because it has been mentioned in previous posts, but have done nothing about it, Imwould choose one of the independents next time, as it seems they have built their brand and now are sitting back, someone needs to step up.

The restaurant is well presented, authentic looking and the staff were very polite. We sat, had drinks and scanned the menu. We ended up having about 12 dishes off of the tapas menu after bread and olives.. All was very good. Good enough size portions for the 2 of us to share through and all were cooked well.TIP: Look for discounts and offers to avoid unnecessary over payment. Places like this, as well as Prezzo's, Zizzi's etc run on vouchers! (Get a 'taste card')

Welcomed with an Ola we were seated discreetly in a quiet corner.Wine, olives and almonds ordered we considered the menu which was not extensive but some interesting dishes. Unfortunately when we came to order some were unavailable, ok it was just after Christmas but no Tortilla! To name the positives: the food was fantastic and the staff who served us were friendly and lovely. The downside: we booked on the day and received confirmation email. When we arrived we were told that as we had booked on the day there was no guarantee of a table. This was not made clear in the email confirmation or on the website. This should be specified when booking or the system should not allow you to book on the day. We were informed it could be an hour wait ( we had booked for 9pm) but the staff managed to resolve this quickly - brownie points. If a small business can be updated on table bookings online on the day why does this not happen in a chain as big as yours? When we sat down the staff did not know which tables had ordered what and someone else's starter arrived at out table. They were very apologetic for the mix up and I appreciate some staff may be new and at least they were lovely about it. Overall impressed with food - and the mohitos, unhappy with the system.

I went to la tasca with my family the other day and wasn't too impressed. My family used to go there a lot and from what I remember, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.... However, when I went back the other day, the experience was far from pleasant and enjoyable! It started off with the staff/waitress. When we arrived we were sat down at a nice table in the corner and left alone to order (fairly standard). Then the waitress came over and asked what we would like to order. This would've been fine if it was not for the fact that she was so miserable that i wanted to ask her what was wrong! After our food was ordered, about 25-30 mins later it arrived. Pretty standard. The food was not great... The bread and oil we ordered (we ordered 2) came with two half filled pots of oil and this vinegar which had no taste and eight really thin small bits of bread to accompany it! Our chorizo and other bits of tapas then arrived. The slices of chorizo we ordered were all chewy and over cooked. To accompany this, we only got the ends of the chorizo...The crochets de Apollo were ok but they put half a teaspoon of garlic sauce with them (not nearly enough) the rest of the meal was average but not incredible and I'm not sure I would go back again for another meal and definitely not to meet the staff again.

With so few restaurants arround with alot of choice for my celiac, vegetarian girlfriend, we were very excited about her birthday celebrations at la tasca. The menu has a wide range of Spanish foods suitable for her. When we arrived at 6:30 there were only 2 tables of people which didn't create the atmosphere we were hoping for. None the less we sat down and ordered our drinks with the mundane waiter. Which to be fair, arrived promptly. Everything on the menu is very inexpensive and it wasn't until we got our food that we realised why. My girlfriend had gluten free tortilla and I had homemade mini burgers. Luckily I also had a side order of skinny fries because there was so little on the plate. My tiny burgers were tough to eat and so peppery I couldn't finish one which is a testament to how bad they really were. My girlfriends 'tortilla' was more like a slice of omelet filled with uncooked onion (Smaller than an average slice of cake). After this bitter disappointment we left almost everything, paid the bill and left within half half an hour of sitting down.Following this we were both still very hungry, and in times of need, we went to the very lovely pizza express in the forum. Though 2 deserts and 2 coffees cost about as much as our whole meal at la tasca, it was worth it. Gorgeous food to ease the pain of the horrible birthday meal.

I saw a voucher for 25%off at La Tasca and my husband and I decided to take advantage of it and try out our local branch in Norwich this lunchtime.Unfortunately we were very disappointed by our experience. We felt the food was very overpriced and the portions meagre. We ordered 6 tapas to share as suggested on the menu, fully expecting a filling and satisfying meal. Unfortunately this was not our experience. One of the dishes my husband ordered was the Pollo Marbella which had the smallest amount of chicken possible in it....it would not even have been enough to feed a toddler. We were also shocked by the fact that the Croq Espinasas cost £4.70 and consisted of only 3 croquettes....thus costing over £1 each. Sharing 3 between 2 meant we had only a small taste. During our meal no one came to ask us how our food was. After we had finished a waiter came over to ask if we wanted to see the dessert menu without asking if we had been satisfied by our main course. I explained out thoughts on the meal to him and told him that we were still feeling hungry after the paucity of food and would be going elsewhere for a sweet. He said he would report our views back to the manager and bring our bill. Most managers, upon hearing a complaint against the food being served in their restaurant, would have come over, apologised, opened up a dialogue and possibly offered some form of compensation ...a free coffee or some such to leave the customer feeling somewhat mollified. Not your Norwich manager who studiously ignored us. We left without as much as a goodbye. Needless to say we will not be returning to La Tasca and will be recounting our experience to friends and family in an effort to save them from a similar disappointment.

Further to this it took over an hour for our starters to be brought out, even though it had been pre booked. The main dishes were also late out and by the time the veggie mains were out, the rest of the tables food had been cleared away. We ordered several drinks that never came. There was also not enough dishes for our large party, 1 dish per 4 people? The staff were over whelmed with the amount of bookings and were very apologetic, it was clear the restaurant had been over booked. We did have our bill reduced once we involved management. Because of this we were also late to our next booked table.

When we asked why they'd been so long we were told that the person preparing desserts was new, which didn't seem a good idea for a busy Saturday evening. We had to ask for the desert menu when a waiter came somewhere near (after taking a break from table laying - why are they laying tables at 9.00 pm???). The deserts were not very nice and 3 were served 10 minutes after the first one. Surprisingly the bill arrived quite quickly.... Sorry guys but this is nowhere near our first experience and we won't be back.

Looked at the building; thought, 'beautiful windows and architecture' and walked in... walked straight back out again, What a noise! The music was nothing but heavy, thumping bass and hurtful on the ears. Couldn't eat there for a pension and won't try again. Just in time to see a 'bar person' taking a swig from a bottle behind the bar who looked quite guilty when she saw us watching.Awful: no matter what the food might be like.

I attempted to alter my booking from 8 people to 10 which I was unable to do online, when we arrived the table we had was set for 12 people.
Our food arrived before our drinks (which we didn't even get) and some of the dishes were not sent out to the table at all.
The food was tasty but the service let the experience down.
Will not be rebooking for a group again I'm afraid to say

Have to say this was a disappointing night. The menu is odd, with some really non-Spanish additions. I get you're a chain and need to offer range, but pulled pork on garlic bread in a tapas restaurant?? Odd. We ordered paella and as it says it's cooked fresh and will take 20 minutes we ordered some appetisers. These didn't come, and when they started bringing out tapas for others at our table, they said, oh we are bringing them with the mains... So the appetisers and mains came at the same time as the tapas (suspiciously quickly for something that's supposed to be cooked fresh), the paella was uninspiring to say the least, not horrible, but nothing like a Spanish paella either. More like a ready meal. After eating, three quarters of the table was cleared, and after being left alone for another ten minutes (the restaurant was empty at 9pm on Saturday night), they offered desserts, and finally cleared our dirty plates. Chocolate fondant was cold (don't serve ice cream plonked on top of fondant!) and there was little 'fondant' in the middle, more of a brownie really. Nice, but not a fondant. Service was again, fine, but not exactly enthusiastic, or done with care. They didn't really seem to give a monkeys. The whole place had a gloomy air, offset by sad Christmas displays with mis-spelled signs promising us we would be disappointed if we didn't book early for Christmas. I doubt that very much. A mediocre meal, not expensive, but still deeply overpriced for the level of cooking and service provided. With so many other places in Norwich to choose from, we shan't be back.

Visited Friday night and it was surprisingly quiet. Given a nice table upstairs and staff pleasant. Food was average and could have been served hotter as it was only tepid. Previous Tapas Restaurants we have visited served food in dishes that were piping hot so stayed warm throughout the meal whilst selecting portions from each.

We are regular La Tasca guests, but only the second time at this outlet. Shaky start, as our reservation was not in the diary and a table had to be hastily arranged. Good customer care though and we were soon seated. Food was normal high quality that we've come to expect from the Chain. Special mention of the paella and the octopus & potato.

A gem of a place, tucked away behind the Cathederal, with a large al fresco dining area, or inside on cooler days. The service was very good and attentive, although they were very busy. I was seated quickly and placed my order. I was given an approximate time for service (I ordered the paella) and it came within the timscale. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion and quality of the dish. I would go as far as to say it was of comparable quality as any paella I have had in Spain. I had a glass of San Miguel, to keep the theme, and being a warm evening, enhanced the flavour of the dish! The restaurant had a great atmosphere, with people coming and going all the time - it felt like I was sitting on Las Ramblas, enjoying a balmy evening outside. When the bill came, I was surprised at how reasonable it was, all hings considered. I would certainly reccommend this place for a taste of authentic Spanish cooking, in a great atmosphere, at a reasonable cost - although the weather helped!

Saturday was my third time eating here and i say the same thing every time; food great but service dreadful. The waiter told me they were understaffed as they had 3 large groups in - here's a tip, if you book large groups, put some extra staff on! We waited almost an hour for some drinks we ordered (we chased after 30 minutes and were told that the girl who took our order wasn't allowed to take orders?!) and when our food finally arrived we were missing a dish. Good luck tracking some staff down to tell them! The staff were very friendly, there just aren't enough of them and it really impacted the evening badly. Once I could understand but three times isn't a coincidence, its an issue.

Its the first time we have visited this Tapas restaurant. We booked a table, but there was plenty of tables to sit at, inside or out. At midday the restaurant was quite empty. It may have been the weather as it was overcast and there are ongoing road works near by. However this did not spoil our experience. The selection of Tapas on offer is very good, (see recommendations below). The Sangria we had was very refreshing and had a kick to it| The two servers were helpful and polite. We will use the restaurant again

The service here is very lacking. Miserable and scruffy staff who were quite rude when talking to us. Not a smile in sight. The waitress who took our order hadn't got changed into her uniform yet (despite the restaurant being dead) and was unrecognisable as a member of staff - particularly in her lack of customer service skills. It really didn't fill us with hope for the quality of the food.Meals arrived quickly but, to be honest, were pretty awful. Tasteless paellas and to top it off, my partner found a hair in her food. 30% was taken off our bill, but we definitely won't be back.Staff were leaning against the doors chatting and generally looking useless. All in all, a pretty laughable evening.

Came for dinner Saturday evening. When we first got there the restaurant was empty within 10 mins the restaurant was fall. We understood by talking to the manager there would be a wait for food. We was told 30mins. After 35 our food came out. It was AMAZING, ok abit of a wait but well worth it! The staff was rushed and I believe unaware of that the restaurant would turn so busy so quickly but they still managed to serve with a smile. The lady that served us seemed stressed but nothing was to big of a task for her. We didn't catch her name but would like to thank her. All in all I would return even if it takes awhile Well Done

Illuminous yellow garlic mayonnaise, dry ribs, brown 'white' fish and a manager that looked like he'd been dragged in from the street. These are some of the reasons we did not enjoy our visit here and will never return.

We visited La Tasca on a Monday evening - as we approached we could hear some loud shouting coming from an upstairs room with the window open. When we entered it became apparent this was from some kind of dance lesson taking place on the mezzanine floor of the restaurant! We chose a table that looked as if it might avoid the noise from upstairs, and away from the TV screen (why does a restaurant have a TV on?!?), however discovered after sitting down that the noise wasn't really blocked at all. Repeated shouts from upstairs could be heard over the (fairly loud) music in the restaurant itself. The table was grubby and obviously hadn't been cleaned from the previous occupants, and the furnishings were stained and dirty looking. Not very appealing if you're about to eat some food.Unfortunately we also realised that our table gave us a view directly into the disabled toilet, the door of which was repeatedly left open despite us getting up to close it.After sitting for 10 minutes or so, looking at the menus (which were also filthy) and not being offered any drinks, we decided to leave without ordering and try the Zizzi restaurant next door...

Very good value for money by getting any tapas that would usually cost under a fiver for just £2.50. So we had 6 tapas plus bread and 2 drinks for less than £30. Service was very good but being a Tuesday at 6.30 the place was pretty dead. Absolutely loads of gluten free stuff for the other half too :)

We had a reservation but had to wait at the bar for our table to be ready, which is not a problem. But we were then forgotten about and I had to ask again for a table to be told they were very busy and we should have made a reservation! It wasn’t a busy evening, maybe half the tables full. So over an hours and 10 minutes wait for a starter of garlic bread was a bit much. The main followed quite quickly but was very over cooked, cold and floating in grease. We didn’t stay for afters! So greasy my partner we sick as soon as we got home.Very disappointing and won’t be going again

Not only was the food and service superb on the (busy) evening we went there, but they were so kind: I left a scarf there and they went to so much trouble to post it back to me. I was really grateful - fantastic people as well as fabulous food. Plus, they were open and still serving on a busy Saturday night when we hadn't booked. I really recommend it!
