Lovely mid-week dinner at La Tana, full restaurant, buzzing! Staff absolutely lovely and Food incredible! I asked for a Seafood pizza (not on the menu) was absolutely to die for and a wonderful Negroni! Dough balls with mozzarella were a very nice start of the dinner, bruschetta very flavourful with fresh and crisp tomatoes, wife’s lasagna was saucy and cheesy to the right spot and pizzas very very good! Thank you guys

First time here but certainly not the last. Top marks on all counts so won't spend too much time on that. I would say however that La Tana prepares Italian food in a way we've not experienced before. All recognisable and totally delicious. Just that it was also different to the way other Italian restaurants serve the same dish. Wonderful food, wonderful service and wonderful surroundings.

Great food. Easy to park. Great service. We all have specials, which we're fantastic. The Prawns in white wine is sooooo good.

To be fair this was an Uber Eats order but have eaten at la tana a number of times. Lasagne delivered as clearly reheated and watery. One had no pasta other was mainly burnt with fresh sauce thrown on top not ideal. Steak was OK, spaghetti dish was OK. Pretty weak given the price is restaurant prices. Disappointing and won't order again.

This is a lovely place with friendly people. Food is high quality. They have some wines you won't easily find elsewhere.

My boyfriend and I went to Brighton and especially this restaurant for the first time after a friend recommended us. The service was as usual, literally nothing over the top, very basic. Upon being charged nearly £7 as optional service charge on top of £70 of bill , I requested to exclude that from the bill simply because it was optional and I didn't find the service worth £7 at all, literally after making the payment, I find the managing lady at reception swearing and abusing at both of us as we were walking outside the place. The food and service were okayish but being called out for denying optional service charge is literally so pathetic and cheap. If you expect a handsome service charge, make sure to provide the service that must be worthy of amount. A very basic and obvious service wasn't worth £7. Definitely not visiting again!!! Terrible experience!! Would have rated ZERO if such was an option.

I recently tried La Tana Restaurant and was extremely disappointed with their pricing tactics. They engage in predatory pricing, luring customers with seemingly low menu prices, only to hit them with exorbitant and overpriced bills once seated. Charging £29.95 for pasta with prawns only in a mediocre venue is nothing but an attempt to fool customers (even the receipt was issued under misc food). When I asked the waitress how this was justified, I was told that the pricing was the owner's decision and that she had nothing to do with it. This deceptive practice left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I won't be returning. Eating out should be an enjoyable experience, not a financial trap. Beware of this restaurant's pricing schemes!

This is a fantastic restaurant. We dropped our daighter to Varley Park campus and needed dinner before the long drive home. The service was excellent, and the food was well presented and tasted perfect. Do give this restaurant a try, you will not be disappointed.

Great local restaurant, as good (if not better) than anywhere in town. I took my ‘posh’ friends from Kensington here and they loved it!! Steak on a stone…. Absolute winner!!

Superb Italian food and friendly staff. If you visit Brighton or the area, it’s a must. Even on your way back to London, it’s just 2 min out from the road and you can park in front of the restaurant.

Used this place a lot during covid to order takeaways - always had some of the best pizza. Decided to have an evening out and thought we would go here. Excellent service and very attentive, great menu choice with the flexibility when it came to making a change for dietary reasons. Well priced and washed down with a very nice wine!

What an authentic, wonderful place. Real Italian music. The pasta was cooked to perfection. The sauce had real depth and flavour. On our next trip to Brighton we are definitely stopping here. You should too!

Well what can we say about this place, the food is out of this world. If you have to eat please don't pass this place. If you're visiting or leave nearby you NEED to come here. You'll never go to another Italian again. The staff are brilliant the food is even better. We will most definitely be coming back. The whole ambience is top notch, the decor is very tasteful and not over the top. Unfortunately we didn't get to have a dessert as we were too full but they looked just as good as the starters and mains. Please don't pass an opportunity to come here. You will not be disappointed

Popped in on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was already half full. Lovely, friendly service and delicious food. The steak on a stone was fantastic with the meat being very tender. Will definitely go back.

We wanted to sit in the Igloos outside, but they do get booked up in advance. We had a walk-in and found it easy to get a table and didn't have to wait. As soon as we sat down someone came over to take our order, although we hadn't had a chance to check the menu yet. However, once we were ready to order the restaurant staff are friendly and attentive. They didn't have a lot of the syrups in stock so drinks menu was limited, but they offered to make me a strawberry mojito which isn't on their menu so I really appreciated the service to try and cater for me. We had the Crispy Fried Squid and Seared King Prawns for starter, both of which were really nice and I would recommend. For mains, I had the Devon Crab Linguine which was really nice, you get a good amount of pasta although I couldn't finish it all! My partner ordered the British Flash Steak which he found a bit tough, but the fries it came with were delicious!

Had pre dinner drinks here on a hot Friday afternoon. Lovely setting in the Lanes in Brighton. We sat outside next to the fountain. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks for the location. Recommended.

We had dinner here on a Tuesday night - very nice and quiet setting. Free street car parking available. Waiter and owner were very attentive and kind. Owner is from Naples - Italy. Nice Italian music was playing. Comfortable chairs. A lot of space and tables. Very romantic and family friendly atmosphere.

Brilliant atmophere!! The food is so authentic we were transported back to our holiday in Italy. Service was excellent, an all round enjoyable evening.

First time of visiting this restaurant, after it had been recommended, and it didn't fail in living up to the recommendation. Food was amazing and the service professional, yet friendly and personal. Relaxed atmosphere in a lovely environment. Shall definitely return.

Lovely food and very well presented. Found the prices a little expensive considering the restaurant is not in Brighton. Our total for two was £33.00, two main courses, one desert, one beer and two coffees.

We visited this evening, and found the restaurant pleasant to enter. We were met by less than enthusiastic staff who seemed reluctant to serve us. We ordered drinks and a starter and finished these and then struggled to find staff to serve us again. When we finally managed to order, we found the staff condescending and rude. Our drinks were finished long before my main course arrived and my boyfriend had to wait a further half an hour for his. We were consistently ignored and made to feel like we were unwelcome by the staff for our entire visit. This is not what I expected from an island that prides itself on its hospitable nature! I find this thoroughly disappointing. We will not be returning and strive to advise others to not bother with the trip as you will be treated with appalling distain. There is nothing to offer at this restaurant that would make it worth visiting, so do yourself a favour and choose somewhere else.

On s'attendait à beaucoup mieux d'après les critiques. C'est bon et copieux mais rien d'exceptionnel non plus. Le pourboire est inclus, les prix ne sont pas forcément bon marché des que l'on sort des classiques pâtes et pizza. Pousse un peu à la consommation

Erm, this place seems to be superceded by its reputation.....apparently this is a chicken cesar salad - see image......nah!

My experience here was lovely. The food was nice, the service was really friendly & the atmosphere was also great. I almost felt like I was in a restaurant on holiday. The food at the restaurant is well priced for this sort of food. Between us, my girlfriend & I had 3 starters, 2 mains, 1 side, 1 dessert & 3 drinks (2 prosecco's & 1 pint) & the total came to just over £76. I will be definitely going back. In the pictures (We'd already started eating the starters before taking a pic 🤦🏻‍♂️) : Starters = Soup of the day (Minestrone), Calamari & Bruschetta. (my g/f said it was the best minestrone soup she'd ever eaten) Mains = Carbonara & Spaghetti with Meatballs Side = Garlic Bread with cheese Dessert = Banoffi Pie If you haven't tried this place, I would definitely recommend you try it.

La Tana is a fantastic restaurant, the food is superb and the atmosphere feels like you are on holiday abroad.The staff are so accommodating and welcoming.

In Brighton for a few days with my family and we all wanted to go to an Italian restaurant for a meal. On our last day managed to find this little gem and so lucky that we did. Food, service and atmosphere were fantastic the only downside is that we can't come back tomorrow. But when we are in the area again we will definitely be back.
