La Scala in Dover

Lovely little restaurant, amazing food and friendly staff. Went here on a recommendation and so pleased we did. Delicious olives and the fish for main was perfect. We will certainly be returning very soon.

Having just moved to Dover, this charming little restaurant beckoned one rainy day. I had a delicious peppery polpo & tomato starter with crusty bread to soak up the juices. A creamy veal and mushroom main followed. If this was not rich enough: I asked if they could provide a selection of cheeses. The cheese selection was mind blowing in scale and flavour. All washed down with an excellent chilled white. When the bill arrived: I was very surprised at how reasonable it all was. This will become a weekly fix.

We visited on Saturday 6th November having not been for over two years due to a couple of bad experiences.I think its safe to say they are definitely back on form. The food was delicious and the service was exactly as you would expect, excellent. All our favourites were still on the menu and all in all a very pleasant evening.Keep up the good work guys and we'll be back soon.Thank you

We have recently moved to Dover from London and was looking at this restaurant and a number of others for associates coming down from London to eat on their way to the continent. The starters I had the mussels were exceptional. My husband’s mushrooms were average. I then had the lamb rump , it was sinew and fat. My husband he ad the chicken and it was nice. I did remark that it was fatty and left most of it but told the chef could have cooked it more. I asked for medium, I think if he had cooked it to a cinder it would have made no difference!

We had a very pleasant evening here. The restaurant was fairly quiet but still had a nice atmosphere. We ordered a steak & a lamb dish, both cooked just the way we asked for, both superb. Would certainly recommend going.

I hadn’t visited here for a few years as I’d moved away. I went with a few friends celebrating a birthday. We had a warm welcome and the food was superb. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I will definitely be returning and recommend to my friends and family

3 of my friends ordered the same thing. Mixed meat grill. Presented nicely, but unfortunately that's where it all went wrong. We all had the same issue. I spoke out. I asked if the sausage was ment to be pink? Was assured it was. We was not particularly happy. I cut into my lamb. It was raw. When I passed comment to the chef and owner, he came out and said it was fine, then to prove it he ate the sausage from my plate, and asked if I was 'qualified to eat' I kid you not the chef said and did this! I was a little perplexed by this show, as I had not seen that before..... he said it was pink because it was homemade. Pink pork? I am a little sceptical.....They then hurried us out of the door by presenting the bill a few minutes later. Not a particularly pleasant experience. I would be mindful if anyone dared to pass a negative comment to the chef, as he came across particularly aggressive, and was defended by the Soux chef, who actually 'cooked' it. I only put 1 star, as 0 is not an option....

La Scala was recommended to us so we were really looking forward to going . We were greeted by a very friendly waiter . The meal and atmosphere made for a lovely evening .

We had walked from Folkestone and found this lovely restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and enjoyed a superb meal. Soft, pleasant music. Rest room immaculate. Highly recommended !

When going through the menu straight away was clear that the prices are really high, London level which really surprised me as we’re far from the capital, however I never mind spending on quality. This however was not the case unfortunately. The gamberetti starter was literally 4 small prawns, for 6 pounds. Four. We ordered the Mixed Grill Meat option, which is 18 pounds, I was even concerned if this can be eaten, or will be too much. Well for 18 pounds you can see on the picture what we’ve got. The meat was really fatty, not clean stake loin. The meats stacked up for decoration purpose - which meant the chicken in the bottom soaked in beef juice and tasted like beef. Very blend, no seasoning at all. When asked they said they don’t have any sauces, so the fries had nothing to dip in, saying that nobody ever asked for it. The ‘side salad’ was literally just leafs with no sauce, vinegar or anything to coat. Very good presentation, not good taste and value for money.

Visited with my 13,9,4 year old and catered with an egg allergy extremely well. Amazing quality of food.Really friendly serves can't wait to go back!!

Myself booked this hotel for my partners birthday 27/08/2020 at 18:30 on line last week sometime and a man called me back later to confirm booking so we travel over from Deal for a lovely evening to be dissapointed as they obsivily overbooked then lied to me out right to so I was annoyed is an understatement check your bills every one obsivily these clowns can not count

Took my 3 sons (age 11,14,16) to this restaurant. We were seriously impressed. Half of our extended family is Italian so we spend a lot of time in Italy and because of this I am often loath to go to Italian restaurants in England as they tend to disappoint. But not La Scala. The food was just delicious. Amazing steak, seafood linguine and the desserts were to die for! We went as part of the governments 'eat out to help out' scheme so it was a total bargain - but actually the prices were very reasonable....already trying to think of an excuse to go again!!! It is a very small, intimate restaurant so perfect for a romantic meal. Only half of the tables were booked out due to social distancing.

So, after having been to la scala many times before I decided to take my new lady to la scala expecting good things. Waited an hour for starter , which came out disappointing her prawn in garlic sauce was shrivelled and lacking in sauce. the mains came out, both ordered steak with potatoes and mixed seasonal veg .when it arrived after waiting for over an hour and 20 mins and ordering another bottle of wine, we both ended up with half a new potato each cut in half and mixed veg. The steak was good but not as good as we expected. We asked to speak to the manager but the coward chose to send the chef who tried to explain that one potato was sufficient . We got offered a drink as substitute but after eating two hours for a meal I could of paying 15 pounds for in whetherspoons we had sadly had enough . We later contacted the manager but he was obnoxious and in all words a pathetic cretin . Won’t be going back .

The food was excellent and tasted really well. The pasta was the best part of the meal, and the staff was very good. Will definitely be back!

Food was beautiful. The service excellent and all of the family loved their evening.3 starters, 4 mains, 4 desserts and 9 drinks £102, reduced to £62 on the government eat out scheme. Cannot complain at all.Highlights for me were the king prawn starter and the veal.... the sauce was amazing.My son has a new favourite dessert. The panacota was gorgeous.Highly recommend.

Lovely food on a very rainy quiet eve. It was a very quiet mid week eve so no trouble getting a table. The chef was very friendly and food was cooked fresh. The fish medley was beautiful

Excellent a meal before heading to Europe. Delicious pasta and the most outstanding tiramisu I ever tried. Friendly staff and excellent value. Good choice of meals. The garlic cheese bread was awesome.

My husband and I visited the La Scala in the summer and had a lovely meal with polite waiter I was so impressed with the food and knowledge of the waiter that I booked for a siblings dinner. What A disappointment and embarrassment as I had recommended the la Scala to my brother and sister. Poor Quality food, small portions, over cooked . No offer of more drinks or Desert menu. Felt we were inconvenience and were rushed out. Will not be returning or recommending.

6 adults visited this evening. A Saturday night. Restaurant almost empty. Service awful had to ask for attention at every turn. Not offered more drinks not offered to see a dessert menu. My fish platter was overcooked and dry. My brother in laws meat platter was small, and poor. Fries appeared to be cheap frozen fries. They turned the heating off and as we left at 9:35 turned the lights off behind us. I’m a coeliac and they assured me everything available gluten free and then brought normal bread with my starter.

First time visit to this gem of a restaurant. Friendly service, excellent olives & the langoustine pasta special was a triumph. We'll definitely be visiting again.

Very hungry, we decided to sit at this restaurant even it was quite full. We sat and it took quite some time for the waitress to serve us. Upon taking our order she came back and said we would have to wait 20 minutes as it is a bit busy. In the end it turn out to be 40 minutes just for the appetizer, and another 30 minutes after the appetizer for the main course. For the main course i got the smallest steak I have ever seen in a reastaurant. Side dishes were also late about 7-8 minutes. The steak was not prepared as expected and tottaly tasteless (I guess that is why the steak is soaking in this mushroom sauce). Additionally a quarter of my steak was unchewable as it had these ligaments and fat.Service was really not impressive and totally failed at all aspects. Do not recommend to visit this place. 0 of an Italian food

Visited on a Monday night in October, prebooked, as my wife wanted to try this restaurant again - I previously reviewed it in 2014 and was not impressed. Only 1 other table was occupied in the entire time we were there - a table of 8. It was however a wet Monday night. Waitress was freindly enough and order was taken efficiently. Starters of caprese and a garlic bread. The latter was fine as might be expected. The mozzarella slices on the caprese was of a very ordinary quality, however the basil was fresh - from a planter growing on the pass. Definitely noting special and not really worth the price in my opinion. For my main I chose the meat mixed grill. When it had arrived I wished I had not. The somewhat bizare presentation style of this restaurant has always been for "putting things on top of other things" - Python fans may get the reference and perhaps appreciate that this too is equally pointless. So on my plate I received a tall stack, on the bottom of which was a pork steak - dry and slightly overcooked; above that was a small piece of steak - rather fatty/gristly to one side; above that a piece of chicken - really dry and overcooked; above that a tiny piece of lamb - this was really very small, but was the nicest part of the dish; above that an Italian sausage - the taste of which totally overpowered the taste of anything else, it's juices having run down the stack. All of these were held in place by a small skewer with a tomato on top and some balsamic vinegar scattered randomly around the plate. It was served with a very small portion of chips and a side salad. A very disappointing dish. My wife chose veal in a mushroom sauce. She received what appeared to be some veal with a huge amount of cream sauce covcering it with some mushroom pieces in the sauce. Served with a small bowl of vegetables, it was underseasoned and was not really enjoyed. I sent some photographs to my son, a professional chef currently working in restaurants in Latvia - his comments on the presentation style (or lack of in the case of my wife's dish) were not polite. I ventured to try desert, a Tiramisu. The positive... it was a very big portion. The negative it was creamy but very dry - definite case of skimping on the alcohol in this dish. Again very disappointing. It came time to pay - when I presented my card the waitress told me that the card machine was not working, and that they had telephoned and left a message on my answering machine that afternoon advising me of this. This was not the case, we received no message. The manager was called and after pressure had been applied to get me to use a cash machine nearby and pay cash (I declined as I wished to use my credit not debit card) it was agreed that I could return a few days later and pay when the machine was working again, which I did. Odd thing - had exactly the same problem at La Romana in Dover, which used to be a sister restaurant, not sure if it still is, when we visited there a few years ago. We were both very disappointed in our meal - and we will not eat here again.

We really enjoyed the food at La Scala. Portions are very generous, service is fast and pleasant and the menu is diverse. My octopus starter was delicious and the mixed Fish main was particularly good.

Nun ist es nicht so, dass du nach einer Englandreise in Dover den schillerndsten und schönsten Ort vorfindest. Schade, aber es wird ja zum Glück endlich an einer ansprechenden Waterfront gearbeitet. Was dafür umso überraschender ist, ist dieses kleine feine italienische Restaurant La Scala. Schönes Ambiente, tolle, frische Küche, freundlicher Service. Unbedingt empfehlenswert, wenn du in Dover bist.

The swordfish was delightful - so good we came back a second night! Pasta dishes were delicious as well. One in our party has a gluten allergy and was accomodated without an issue.

This is a good Italian restaurant. The menu is diverse. The service, when we were there, was nice. It is worth returning. You can ask for free tap water. In the cup, they would add a slice of lemon - a nice touch.

The pasta dishes are simple but well cooked and very tasty, the Irish coffee was also very good.

Nice homely atmosphere. A good wide ranging menu of real Italian food at a reasonable price an da good wine menu with wine by the glass available. Very well cooked and served.

We had a table booked for 730pm on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant wasn't full yet when we were seated, it took a further 15 minutes to be asked if we would like a drink. However, when we did get our food, it was very nice. As we were thinking of ordering a dessert, a big group of people came in and we decided to leave, as we had a feeling that ordering a dessert would probably see us waiting until breakfast the next day!!!

We hadn't been to this restaurant for years but decided to give it a try for our anniversary meal. The food was quite nice but we were very disappointed with the serving staff who appeared to be very unprofessional. On the whole it was quite a disappointing experience and we certainly won't be rushing back!!

I never leave bad reviews so to be moved to do should give an indication as to how bad it was. I’m sure a lot of it may have been explainable to just a bad day, short staffed, run out of ingredients maybe. Aside from it taking an hour and a half to have one drink and a main, half of the ingredients were missing and the dinner itself tasted rubbish. So crap, but not worth damaging by writing a bad review.... however, the appalling attitude from the ‘boss’/ chef, is.

If i could rate this expirience beyond zero it would be too much,a catalogue of errors,meals coming out out at different times and one non existent meal,when i complained about the service we was asked to leave the establishment causing embarassment and us having to seak another establishment for a birthday celebration,i would say shame on you but it seems you dont understand basic english let alone shame

We have dined here for many years and brought many friends.The food is good, but a restaurant is more than the quality of the food. We looked forward to coming here. We always had fantastic service. First, the excellent owner Franco left, now the attentive and professional young male waiter has gone. We don't enjoy it anymore! We will not be returning!

We chose this restaurant as it did gluten free which my colleague diet requirements require. It is mall and quient. Situated opposite the The Maison Dieu which is a beautiful building in it's own right and view from the restaurant. There was only one lady serving on the Monday evening and she did a fantastic job of looking after the diners. It is only a small restaurant which gives it a jce cosy feeling. The food produced by the the chef was of high quality given he was the only one cooking from what I could see and given he had over 12 different orders at one from various customers he did an outstanding job. Food is reasonably priced, yes service was slow but given there was only one person serving this is u understandable. Definitely worth a visit if you want a good meal in a relaxing atmosphere.

I’ve been here many times before and have always been impressed by food and service. This was my first visit for 6 months. The food was as good as ever. Unfortunately the service has taken a turn for the worse. No longer attentive, and basic standards of service not met. It really took the edge off the experience. I really hope staff training and standards improve as the food is the best in Dover.

We were blown out by the restaurant a few doors down (very rude service) so we dropped in for lunch today to La Scala.

We came here after having been let down by another restaurant. Order taken and bottle of wine finished still no food. We appreciate the restaurant was busy but after waiting over an hour and still no food totally unacceptable. Waiter did not even know the restaurant was on Trip Advisor! £35 for 2 bottles of wine (one take away!) - unacceptable. AVOID!

Booked last minute and the food didn’t disappoint. Excellent authentic Italian paste and great wine. They were busy which was good so we had to wait a little bit the food was worth it. The waiter was s little confused and told us he was tired which was maybe why he forgot to offer to bring Parmesan on our paste. Desert was delicious too so well worth s visit, reasonable price, lovely atmosphere and will definitely visit again.

Fuimos a dover en visita express y buscando lugar para cenar encontramos en TripAdvisor este restaurante. Nos sorprendió gratamente que al llamar para reservar la persona que nos atendió chapurreara español y nos transmitió muy buena vibra. La comida en relación a calidad precio es buena. Pero lo que más valoramos es la atención que nos dieron, también destacar al dueño del restaurante, es una persona muy agradable en su contacto con el cliente. Nos fuimos muy contentos.

I ate here last night as one of a group of ten. We booked in advance and asked the owner if he could make a set menu for us, to make it easier for him and for us. The staff were more than happy to oblige.

Popped in here on the way home from a day out in Dover,, before heading back to our hotel in Canterbury, I've eaten in very good Italian restaurants all over, we have some fantastic ones in Southampton,, don't get the last two reviews but you get all types, anyway the young lad was excellent, it was early Sunday evening and was packed, I had minestrone soup,, followed by the octopus, then the special veal cutlet,, all excellent,, a nice bottle of wine (not expensive) anyway the young lad said he was helping his dad who is the owner before he goes back to uni,,, as I said don't understand those last reviews, I can assure you all it's lovely!! So don't swerve GO!!

Went last night to celebrate some good news, wished I stayed in and had a cheese sandwich instead. Dull tastless food served by the most drippiest waiter I have ever met. How this place survives I will never know. Honestly, give it a massive swerve and do not waste your money like we did.

Ate here last night and virtually told that none of the wines on the menu were available, but more expensive wines were. The waiter was hard to hear and not really suited to this type of work. Someone accidently set fire to their napkin which was when I became aware that this restaurant had no smoke detectors, which I believe is illegal. The food was so so. The only reason I ate here was because the best restaurant, a few doors down was closed.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here. The menu features a wide range of choice and food was brilliantly cooked and tasty. The interior makes for a really homely experience. Three courses for two of us were all delicious and served with a smile and quickly. I would certainly recommend.

Dover is not a centre for gastronomic pleasures and we were delighted to find this small restaurant which serves Italian-style food cooked by a Portuguese chef-owner who bought the restaurant last year. He came out to chat after service was complete. Cooking is done to order, so a full restaurant means a longer wait, but the quality and attention to detail is undiminished. We were very pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes, the freshness and choice, and delightful touches such as a cheeseboard with really unusual cheeses. Cooking is closer to home-cooking that chefy-restaurant style, and none the worse for that. Our main course duck-breasts were exemplary. It is worth mentioning the wine list too has some less common wines such as Sardinian Cannonau (grenache) and is well worth exploring.

Popped in for a meal after arriving back from a European trip. The food was amazing and reasonably priced for the two of us (we had one course and two drinks for around £30). Great atmosphere and very authentically decorated, I would definitely recommend an evening meal there. We loved it.

First night of our stay in Kent. Chose La Scala because my wife likes good Italian food. We were not disappointed. We had a lovely meal with our friends in this small cosy restaurant. The food was excellent ,the service was good and it was a great start to our holiday.

Lovely cosy intimate atmosphere, the waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, and we had great food. The red wine I ordered - primitivo - was delicious. We will return.

Had a very enjoyable meal here with friends, good service and very friendly staff. It was a Monday evening, so not too busy, but still a good ambience. I enjoyed the veal and the lovely ice cream. Reasonable prices too.

We spent another lovely evening in this delightful restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the young male waiter. The restaurant was packed with diners, but the service from this waiter was excellent. We chose our dishes from the special Valentine's Night menu, each one was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

Given the many review comments about the warm and welcoming service at La Scala we were disappointed to not see this ourselves. The young man on duty had very limited inter-personal skills and simply told us to wait whilst he cleaned our pre-booked table. It may have been his first attempt at doing this kind of work - and he was certainly stressed by a small group who wanted separate bills but he never turned into Mr Cheerful. The food was good, however, and he did thank us for pointing out that he had under-charged us by quite a bit. I guess the owner needs to train and support staff better.

There didn't seem to be much choice in Dover for somewhere to eat but stumbled on this place. Lovely intimate restaurant with well cooked food and reasonable prices, I would eat here again if I was in Dover.

We visited this wonderful restaurant with friends. Everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service was excellent, the hard working waiter being both professional and knowledgeable, advising on the menu and wine.Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Had a wonderful meal after arriving in Dover late evening. The chef was also the owner. He and the waiter work very hard yet were pleasant.

Went here for new years eve . Been going to la Scala for Ionger than i can recall ( at least 15 years ) .sadly the original owners have sold up and what a difference they made . Same menu same name, nothing's been changed but I have to say our meal was disappointing. The waitor was eventually ready to take our order when I pointed out we were yet to be offered drinks ! I ordered the fillet steak . It was tough as old boots . I left it on my plate . I would of told the staff we were not happy with the food but unfortuently nobody bothered to ask how our meal was! Despite a whole fillet steak left on my plate ! When we left , not one member said the usual " thanks Good night " kind of thing . If things don't improve people will stop going . You can't ride on someone else's coat tails for ever! I myself might return for one more try . But I am very disappointed with the new owners and chef .

Have eaten lots of times at La Scala and have never been disappointed. This week was no exception. A family member asked for guidance being vegan and the chef made a dish which not only met the vegan criteria, but was delicious. Our party of six all enjoyed the food including octopus, steak and pasta dishes and the excellent service by both the waiter and the chef. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Not been here before but heard good things...Yes would go back again...lovely small cosy place on a wet windy winters night... Food was good as well..Chef knows his stuff..staff friendly

En mycket trevlig och mysig restaurang. Vårt sällskap åt olika pastarätter, lammracks och kyckling och alla var nöjda. Prisnivån var helt ok. Trevlig men diskret personal.

Got lucky and managed to get an early evening meal. Good welcome and pleasant staff. The menu was interesting but service was a bit slow. We enjoyed the meal and especially the Venetian Sauvignan Blanc

Visited with husband and teenage daughter. The lady serving us was really friendly and helpful. The food was cooked to perfection and the wine delicious. Never had a bad meal here so always happy to go back

Thinking that the specials might be the freshest we had the razor clams. They were gritty and overlooked to resemble rubber. On to the mains - ravioli filled with ricotta in a tomato sauce. This was edible but tasteless

A Tuesday in October so no problem getting a table at just after 6pm, we were hungry.

brilliant food here and great service nd well worth a visit for an amazing meal. We really enjoyed our visit

staff could not be more helpful, food is second to none, great restaurant, menu is always changing, staff always remember what wine we like, it is these sort of little touches that make it a great restaurant.

I took a pre-booked group of 18 Americans to this restaurant. The owner and staff were perfect in their attitude and efficiency. No need for pre-ordering off a reduced choice menu, we could have the pick of whatever we wanted from the full menu. All 3 courses were outstanding and my entire party congratulated me on picking such a good place. Everything was faultless; La Scala is a first rate example of how a small restaurant can deliver the goods by good organization, good attitude and efficiency. Well done!

I was visiting Dover and as usual checked the best places to stay in. Italian cosine preferred. I came with my girlfriend, the restaurant was nice but for me is more important the food. First at all the waitress ( don’t want to harm any one ) didn’t know the wine list , type and region of wines, anyway, I was going for white, the wine was warm unfortunately she forgot to put in the fridge , ok no problem, so I took a similar one. Then my girlfriend order a Linguine ai frutti di mare and that’s where all problems, linguine were over cooked and frutti di mare I don’t think were fresh, specially mussels; the meat I’ve ordered supposed to be blue but it was medium rare and dry I think was not fresh. The waitress even didn’t know the amari,after dinner liqueur. The worst thing after we came home, on late night both of us me and my girlfriend vomited all night and I was feeling dizzy till Tuesday evening no way we will come back and no way I will recommend this place to some one I know

We had an absolutely wonderful evening at La Scala. They have an intimate dining option upstairs with only five tables, and we thought it was just perfect.

Superb food, well presented. However, the service could do with improving. The waiting staff did not know what a Peroni was, served water in a badly chipped glass and had very little knowledge of the menu. Let’s hope this was a one off otherwise it could deter customers from returning.

We have one Italian Restaurant and we like to try sometimes pasta, and was fantastic, the restaurant is little but romantic, nice wine and the People incredible I recommend this place 👌🏻

Zum Abschluss unserer Südengland-Rundreise waren wir auf Empfehlung unserer Vermieterin im La Scala. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht! Sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre (wir saßen auf der Empore) und sehr freundlicher Service.

First visit to this lovely little gem of a restaurant, I've lived in dover all my life why haven't I eaten here sooner.being a chef I find it hard to enjoy food without disecting it .but I have to say that was the best food (that I haven't cooked obviously) I've eaten in a very long time.every course was spot on. My lamb was so tasty succulent and cooked to perfection. Portion sizes were just right to enjoy 3 courses comfortably .there are not many places I would return to but this is going to be one for my list .many thanks

Enjoyed sol and scaloppine dishes, followed by a cheese selection and ice cream. Quality of food was good and restaurant serves authentic Italian - good portions. A quiet restaurant in a mainly a residential area. Comfortable surrounds provided for a pleasant evening.

Сервис хороший. Еда так себе. Средняя цена для Дувра и окрестностей. Брали стартеры - хлеб с чесноком, осьминога, капрезе и суп дня. Хлеб - это 4 кусочка покупного багета, засушили, полили оливковым маслом и натерли чесноком. Осьминог был неплохой. Но его было так мало. 80% это томатный соус. В капрезе был пластмассовый помидор и посредственная моцарелла. Рыба и баранина на основные блюда, была нормальной. Без фанатизма. На десерт крем брюле и шоколадный торт. Крем брюле отстой. Комочки, в креме, холодный :(

We arrived late in Dover when most restaurants were closed. It was fortunate for us that this restaurant was still serving, but even more so that the food was delicious. The food was not only delicious but so was the chef's presentation. A big surprise was that the hard working chef is also the owner. The waiter was very attentive and works very hard.

We went as 8 couples and had heard great things! The Food was fantastic!

Op advies van onze B&B; gereserveerd in dit restaurant. Bleek terecht zeer populair, tafels de hele avond bezet. Goede kaart en mooie wijnen. Een bijzondere plek in het beetje vervallen Dover. Hier komen we zeker terug op onze reizen van en naar UK.

We really enjoyed our visit to this lovely restaurant in Dover. Great service throughout our meal. I had a delicious seafood Linguine. There is a large selection of wine on show. We shall return fir a evening meal.

Simply the beat food in Dover Excellent service, Franko is an amazing host. The food was perpared quickly and it just tasted amazing. We have eaten here a number of times. Definitely recommended if you're looking to eat great food in a nice atmosphere.

Table for 2 booked previous day. On arrival found table had not been booked but no problem. Service was good and the waiter was very pleasant. Food generally was good but not exceptional. My order (veal escalope in a tomato base) was delivered in a cream base with mushrooms. Still good and tasty. Partners dish of chicken wrapped in parma ham with asparagus was rated as good. Prices were average for this type of restaurant.

Very friendly and homely atmosphere. Food was truly excellent. Good choice on menu for a parky boyfriend who had plain steak and chips but thoroughly enjoyed it. The rest of us had seafood and veal. It was all delicious. If we were local we would go again but sadly just a one night stop over before catching the ferry to France.

Being taken here while overnighting in Dover. Staying at the Premier Inn a short 13 min walk away.

Food is delicious and the owner is a very nice person. Authentic Italian food. Ristorante perfetto per italiani all’estero.

We received a warm welcome when we visited on Monday this week. We each had 3 courses and shared a very smooth bottle of red, and thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Bruschetta and Chicken liver pate to start followed by mixed grill with chips and salad for my fiance and chicken breast stuffed with asparagus and cheese wrapped in parma ham with a cream sauce, roasted potatoes and vegetables. For dessert tiramisu and the most amazing panna cotta. Finished off with a latte and tia maria liquor coffee. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance with music gently playing in the background and a lovely host. Thank you for the perfect evening, we will be calling later to book again!

Very good service and friendly staff eager to please, shame the food was a bit hit and miss, starters very good, main course meat a bit dry, however overall not too bad although bit expensive for what it was.

After a long icy walk in the bitter cold and biting wind (we got lost), we finally found the restaurant. (Google maps isn't always helpful when you're on foot!)

This was a great surprise extremely delicious food and fab atmosphere. The staff were attentive and hopeful in their advice on wine - would definitely return. Every course was a delight including the decaf espresso coffee.

Had a lovely meal for two couples at this fabulous Italian restaurant. This is a small restaurant, so you will need to book. Wide variety in the menu, but all freshly prepared. The pasta is exceptional, really tasty and with the right amount of sauce....
