Steak was amazing, our server (young friendly guy) was amazing. But the chimchurri sauce was out of a jar and tasted just like those sun dried tomatoes you get in a jar of oil. It was a dark brown colour! I also suspect the peppercorn sauce was also out of a packet/jar as it was very bland. Such a shame that they don’t take the time to make sauces from scratch. We mentioned it to the elder (manager?) man and he said that people complain there is too much garlic in it if they make it fresh?! Not buying that at all. You don’t go out to eat and expect to be charged £3 per tiny pot of sauce out of a jar! Please change this La plata 🙏

This restaurant claims to be an Argentinian restaurant but is not an authentic restaurant employs zero Latin staff. The meat is very good however the rest of the dishes are extremely poor so if you're not going for steak, there are other restaurants that could cater better for the whole party! I was really disappointed to have taken my family after seeing such great reviews, but the accompaniments were awful, the sauces bland the pasta really not up to scratch. We tried to give feedback at the end of the meal to the owner /manager to which he was polite but rather defensive which just shows poor customer service skills and lack of value to repeat custom. We paid our bill in full minus the service charge.

Another gem! If you're after steak as good as fancy places like gaucho, you found what you were looking for. Except here the food is cooked with more care and being a small outfit they still have great customer service from the waiter to the manager and even the chefs. I've visited there four times and I've always been very impressed. Thick juicy Argentinian steak cooked to perfection, lovely sides such as beef skewers, spicy sausage, empeñas. Wine you want to gulp down and keep gulping, and sweet treats, like the cheese cake to top off a seriously filling meal. Yes i had all the above and more. In summary, think fancy restaurant locally.

Small family business with a really lovely feel. The food is incredible. Really, really good steaks cooked to perfection on the grill. The chips are also good and from what we saw the salads and other sides look very tasty too. I had the 260g sirloin, done medium. It was cooked exactly to my liking, nice and tender but not cold in the middle. The peppercorn sauce that I ordered with it was nice too. We also ordered the bread basket as a ‘nibble’, which was very nice too. It takes about 5 minutes to arrive because it is grilled/toasted. For puddings, the churros are very nice. Very crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, with a nice dulce de leche dip/spread. Service is fast and very friendly staff. This restaurant is a hidden gem, we’ve lived in Mortlake for 7 years now and have never been, but it has some of the best steak in the area. Many thanks to the whole team at La Plata!

Great family run restaurant. Simple but authentic Argentinian food ( vouched for by the Argentinian in the family) with well cooked and quality meat. We went for a family birthday lunch on a Monday and it was busy. We were treated very well and the food was delicious. Highly recommend

I bought a steak from the deli, a rib eye to be precise. You won't find a better steak in south west London, and if you do, please do tell me! This is the first time I've bought a steak to cook at home and it was perfect. You certainly pay for what you get! The quality and the marbling was much better than your average supermarket steak. I have eaten in the restaurant before and I most definitely return. I took my family on their visit from Scotland. My dad is an ex chef and very difficult to please but he was blown away. 10/10 recommend.

Our first visit to this delightful family run restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. We visited in the evening and were able to park right outside. The restaurant has a pleasant ambience. The staff were very welcoming and service throughout was very attentive without being intrusive. The menu offers a wide choice and we each selected 3 different steak cuts which were well cooked to our request. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. A nice touch was to add a lighted candle to my wife's dessert and orchestrate a chorus of happy birthday. An excellent experience - only 4 stars for atmosphere but we ate early and I'm sure when it is full, the atmosphere will be 5 star vibrant. Thank you.

Gotta rate this place 5 stars! I stopped by for lunch with my friend yesterday before our yoga class and we both loved it! They do a really good lunchtime deal of £12 for steak and fries. The service was friendly and helpful. The meat is Halal which is even a super bonus! Will be returning again! :)

We ordered 2 500 gram ribeye rare and medium rare . Got 2 blue steaks instead. Food was a little bland but a good piece if meat.

The meat offered is delicious, carefully selected and cooked, and the place seems also quite clean. The restaurant does not compromise on quality, so I can easily recommend it on weekdays or weekends, whenever you want!

We decided with my husband to come here to have lunch but we didn't know that on Sunday they close at 3pm so we just arrived 10 minutes before closing and thanks to Chris ( waiter) we had a very private ( we were the only one on the restaurant) and enjoined lunch. Thanks to the kitchen staff as well, they make the best steak experience. Thank you so much! Will be back!

Had a lovely time at La Plata for Sunday lunch with the family. Chorizo and Calamari starters were stunning and the steaks / fries mains were really good! Service was outstanding

Chris our waiter was very friendly and efficient. The food was very good. We all enjoyed our visit. None of us has any complaints.

Can’t complain about the steaks but as a non meat eater this was a pretty poor experience. Three pasta options on the menu but no Parmesan?! Non meat eaters really could do with some better options… would be great to see a piece of grilled fish on the menu so that all of the sides & sauces can be enjoyed with it. One thing we did notice was that presentation had gone down hill. Gone are the wire baskets that the calamari and fries were served in and the steak experience for 2 & £70 was juts served on a plain round white dinner plate. Appreciate that wooden boards can’t be used any more but the it really did look a little naff. Service was however friendly and efficient and we were accommodated without booking which we appreciated. I might just leave the steak lovers to it next time!

A must around Richmond!! They treated our 4 year son like a star, crayons and everything to make him happy. We ordered the Argentinian Experience and we enjoyed every meat cut! A must you have to try is their Stilton salad with a homemade dressing, woowww!! Staff is great and ambiance is very like home! Thank you

We ordered two large steaks (Rib Eye and Sirloin) as well as a Calamari starter. The calamari was amazing and the steaks were nicely cooked (char-grilled). The service and staff were exceptional and lovely. We ordered our steaks medium rare but when the cook noticed my wife was pregnant he proactively returned to us and recommended a safer option, which was very thoughtful of him. The total came to approximately £110 for two (bearing in mind I essentially had 500g steak and my wife had 320g, where the 500g steak might as well be two steaks and we had 3 cokes and starter) so I think it certainly is reasonably priced. We came here for our anniversary for the first time and the lovely food and staff has made this a favourite spot to return to for great meats!

This was the first time I ate steak in years as I was a vegan! I went for the fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection. The sauce was delicious too! The staff were very accommodating and the service was great 😊 I can’t wait to bring my daughter there to try the kids menu!

I dined here a few weeks, had the La plata burger which was delicious, I tried another burger in sheen which was horrible compared to this one. Much recommended

one of the best burger place reminded me my childhood grandma meals. Fries were salted and crispy. I also had a quilmes beer that was freezing cold. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite and a dinner.

What cute little dwelling this was. Nestled in amongst some grubby shops. This steakhouse was scrummy bro. Had a beautiful sirlion bit steak and chimichurri popped on time and bomb is was was mouthwateringly good. A bit chewy, my jaw was doing a little workout every chunk but hey, can't complain. Defo check it out.

La Plata never disappoints - super friendly staff, quick service and excellent food. I miss living locally, so it was a treat to go back this week for a casual midweek dinner. The marinated peppers are to die for and you can trust the chef to cook your steak exactly as requested - blue means blue here!

We ordered our dinner on deliveroo from La Plata, it came quickly and everything was delicious. High quality steaks, flavoursome empanadas and a yummy chocolate pistachio desert. Will be ordering again for sure :)

Best steak restourant in London for sure. They are bringing the same meat from Argentina just like the expensive restourants and the cook is awesome. Try medium rare and was very happy of everything. Starters were also amazing, especially chorizon and empanadas. We meet the owner family and we meet Joe. They are so kind and lovely people. The only bad thing was for me to finish the meal and to be full 😊 You may need to make a reservation before you go. The place is not that big but you will taste the best steak ever in Europe for sure. Enjoy 😉

We stopped by for lunch today. Food was delicious. We started with chorizo which set the scene for a good meal ahead. The steak was extremely high quality and cooked perfectly. Steak ciabatta was huge. Lager from Buenos Aires was also v nice. We have eaten here on the full A La Carte as well and the restaurant is perfect for either. V friendly and efficient service from the waiter and the owner moved between cooking and serving too. Highly recommended and steak better than that well known Argentinian chain! Do visit.
