Loved the food, service and the atmosphere the only negative however was it got very hot in the restaurant as more and more people arrived. By the time we finished our meal at 9pm the place was packed and there wasn't any air flow in the room.

Have dined there many times over the years. Never been disappointed with the food. It is a family run Italian restaurant and the menu covers pizza,pasta ,steaks and they cope with gluten free as well. Highly recommend.

What can I say. 15 years ago, I thought this restaurant was a hidden treasure of the New Forest. Obviously, la Pergola is still as fantastic as it was, which shows it's not as hidden as I thought. Well done to everyone who works there. Be proud guy's.

A truly wonderful dinner. Lovely food, amazing service and great atmosphere, I really can't fault it. The staff are all very friendly and casual, but also attentive and professional. The food was faultless and quick to be served and the venue is welcoming, cosy and with enough buzz, but without being too loud. There's also a dessert cabinet full of cheese cakes, tiramisu, gateauxs and other lovely sweet treats! Would highly recommend!

Don't judge the restaurant by its website! The food. Incredible. The service. Delightful. The atmosphere. Lovely. We're so pleased we visited. Vito, our server, was exceptional, making us feel very welcome. I enjoyed an amazing carbonara, while my wife opted for a vegetable penne pasta which was again, delicious. We also shared a few starters, and every single item was fantastic. Value for money was also incredible. Overall, it's a brilliant restaurant. It might not look like much on the website, which almost stopped us from going, but we're so glad we did. Highly recommend!

First time here in recommendations from friends. We had a very reasonably priced lunch menu. 3 courses for £24.95 Starters - melon with fruit and deep fried mozzarella in Parma ham. Both ok Mains were 2 saltimbocca with potatoes and veg. Very underwhelming unfortunately Deserts were excellent though. Tiramisu and lemon roulade Overall an OK experience but didn’t live up to our expectations

Great food really friendly staff and atmosphere

We had a lovely Valentine’s dinner and ordered a set menu. Really enjoyed the first and last course. The main course we had chicken and salmon which we found a little bit dry, however, all of the portions were big portions and worth the money. I loved the maple and pecan dessert, definitely a chef’s kiss! The service were fantastic as well, the staff were all nice, we had a gentleman (sorry we didn’t got his name) served us and he was very entertaining and we when said we were so full with our main course he gave us a bit of a time to give the desserts. We loved the ambience as well, I think it’s cozy and romantic. Definitely would go back!

I’ve had great experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and so was the house red wine. Staff was really attentive and the food was delivered without any delays despite the restaurant being very busy. The portions were exceptionally generous. This was my first visit to this restaurant and overall I found it to be excellent. I will be certainly coming back!

We enjoyed a delicious very reasonably priced lunch. Cannelloni, Beef stew and the liver/bacon - all 10/10. The desserts were as usual magnificent. We were looked after really well by the excellent staff. With the quality of food they served, not surprised how well patronised the restaurant was in mid week.

This is a wonderful place to go for an authentic Italian dining experience. The food was first class and the service was just as good. At first it seemed like it was going to be quite expensive. But, when we thought about it we all had a main course, dessert and a drink and it worked out at around £35 per person which was amazing value for what we had. To give you an idea of how good this place is, we had to book because it was so busy in January!

Visited today for lunch. Food was fantastic. My salmon was cooked to perfection and the banoffee was the best I have ever tasted. The service we received from all staff was perfect, especially Georgie who is an absolute credit to your team. I will definitely be recommending this lovely restaurant to my family and friends.

Was surprised how busy it was on a Tuesday evening, we soon found out. Lovely food, you need to leave room for the desserts. It was our daughter's 21st and they made it special, will be going back soon.

First visit and very disappointed. Food was average, had better at home!! Felt like we were being rushed and they could wait for us to leave ready for next sitting. Will not be returning!!

Customers for 20years plus for celebrations, special dinners and supporting a local restaurant during the pandemic. Have no doubt, after conversation with the owner they will find a reason to counteract my review. Arrived 7.15 and order taken immediately. Starter arrived quickly and was delicious. 50 minute wait for main course, also delicious. When we had to leave at 9pm for taxi we were told we needed to allow at least 2 hours for a starter and main!! We were told our steaks (34.95 each) were binned, because my husband hadn't eaten his starter quickly enough. Unbelievable. As local and as people who would recommend for lunch and dinner we are beyond disappointed in their attitude.

The service by the staff looked effortless - very professional and friendly. Our food was fabulous. A really good pizza - fresh with top quality ingredients and a gnocchi with a Gorgonzola sauce. Tasted amazing. The tomatoes in our salad were really tasty and prepared the minute before service. Excellent ice cream and espresso for an affogato for dessert. The service, atmosphere and food were all absolutely top notch and I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit. Worth booking as it was very busy. We’ve wanted to go since we first saw the place in 2021 and I would certainly make a special trip to go there.

Lovely place. Sadly for me, I feel the food was a massive let down. I had spaghetti bolognese, which had no flavour and reminded me of something that came out of a tin. Very over priced for disappointing food. Also had tummy cramps all night. None of the food I saw looked appetising 😔.

I visited for dinner last night with my family and partner. The food was incredible. Everyone at our table really enjoyed everything they had to eat. That would have been enough for a five star review but what really made this restaurant stand out for us was the wonderful staff. My father who was with us has advanced dementia and gets very confused but he wanted to come as he had been to the restaurant in past years with my mother and loved it there. As soon as the waiting staff realised he had dementia, they seated us in a quieter part of the restaurant and went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable and happy. It’s a difficult situation for my mother and they also went above and beyond to make sure she was ok as well. Not everyone is kind and understanding when it comes to my father’s condition (I’m pretty sure on of the other diners in the restaurant made a derogatory comment about his condition) so we really were grateful. We had a wonderful evening and can’t thank your staff enough. They’re all amazing. Thank you!!

A lovely evening out with very special friends. This restaurant has a truly wonderful atmosphere, the food was faultless and second to none. Our waiter, Vito was absolutely top notch and a lovely guy. He is definitely a great asset to this wonderful restaurant. The restaurant was extremely busy but the food was served hot and on time. All of our meals were very tasty and very ample portion sizes. We would not hesitate to recommend La Pergola and we thank the whole team for a wonderful evening.

The food we had here during the dinner service wasn’t bad by any means, in fact it was rather tasty! Everything we had tasted fresh and looked like it had been cooked with good quality ingredients! The arancini was quite nice, especially with it being accompanied with a cheese sauce however you could argue that it was quite expensive for what it was but I suppose they are the prices you pay in 2023! The lasagne on the other hand was very good: really, cheesy, tomatoey and presentable. It was also delivered hot straight to the table which is always a good sign. The negatives of the restaurant is that it was very crowded and felt cramped. They really do try to fit as many people as they can. Also where I was sat was not the best position. Constantly there was hustle and bustle from the servers. What’s more, they didn’t really come across that friendly and didn’t seem to be super interested if our meal was ok. Overall, decent food but I’m not sure about the service, restaurant decor or environment: busy and crowded. Personally, I couldn’t really relax. Would it stop be returning again? Probably not but that’s not to say that it was terrible, it was just average I suppose.

What a great place to eat, this was my first visit, the food was amazing and plentiful so make sure you leave room for the biggest desserts I have ever seen. Staff were friendly and you didnt feel rushed. I will definitely be revisiting in the near future. It is probably worth booking as I did for a Saturday night as it was full, even in November, and it would be a disappointment to travel all that way and not be able to get in. This is a little treasure.

This was our second visit. Service is friendly and helpful, food arrives promptly and piping hot. Saltinbocca was a little tough, cauliflower a little too crunchy. My whitebait was brilliant. Puddings outstanding. Pricing reasonable.

We booked ahead for dinner on a Friday evening after reading reviews on here. We were glad we did as it certainly was busy. Lovely surroundings and a very pretty outside seating area, although it definitely wasn’t the weather to sit outside when we were there. Good sized car park. The food was good and service efficient. Portion size for dessert was impressive. One between two was ample.

We were greeted warmly and served by attentive staff. The pasta dishes were delicious- Canneloni- generous, tasty meat blend and tomato sauce, the Carbonara- a light cream sauce loaded with pancetta. My fiance and I came here for a lovely meal, we have been before a few years ago and we were excited to go back, the food was just as delicious and flavoursome, and the service was great. Make sure to go hungry as rhe portions are massive! The decor of the restaurant is classic Italian, with a glass cabinet with all the home made desserts. We can't wait to come again.
