La Lombarda Restaurant in Aberdeen City

Had been here a few times in the past but not for a good few years, we had always enjoyed the food in the past but standards have slipped badly. I had the Parfait di pollo to start and it was the worst pate I have ever had, could not even finish it as it was so ba, I then had the Hawaiian pizza which which had an unusual taste and was nothing special, my wife said her meal was okay but bland. The floor and our table were covered in crumbs and we were there at evening opening time so that must have been left since lunchtime, disgusting! The service was nothing very special either and was if they couldn't be bothered. Also quite expensive making it a worse experience so we won't be back as there are plenty of other proper delicious Italian restaurants to go to.

Went to La Lombard’s last night for a pre theatre meal with some friends, it was steadily busy but the girl who served us (I didn’t catch her name sorry!) was so attentive! Our cocktails arrived quite quickly and were delicious, I highly recommend their sex on the beach cocktail! Food order was taken and food arrived promptly, hot and nicely presented. I had a lovely king prawn risotto which had the juiciest well cooked king prawns through it. My friends both enjoyed their meals too. We only managed a main course due to time restraints for getting to the theatre show but I can’t wait to come back and have a full 3 course meal and sample some of the wines from the extensive wine list they have on offer!

Despite it being a fairly busy Sat night the food we had was served really quickly and was delicious, the servers are great and the total cost did not break the bank!

I've been on the hunt for a proper Italian carbonara (made with no cream) for a while now and I thought La Lombarda would be sure to deliver. Unfortunately, like so so many restaurants, that wasn't the case so I was disappointed (and surprised) with that. I ordered the puttanesa instead and it was very nice, light and tasty (although I think it was missing the capers). We all had starters and mains which were overall positive. The waitress was really nice and I tried her new limoncello spritz which was fun. Quite pricey for what we got but we enjoyed it well enough.

Planning a special afternoon out in Aberdeen wouldn’t have been complete without a nice meal. Returning to La Lombarda for the first time in a few years I was delighted that it was every bit as good as I remember, if not even better! A friendly welcome and great service was a fantastic addition to the beautiful food we had. We had children and allergies to deal with in our group and the staff took all this in their stride with a smile. Such a nice alternative to the all familiar eye roll when entering some other establishments on Union Street with kids. Two beautiful pizzas were inhaled by the kids whilst the adults were stuffed after bowls of beautiful handmade pasta. We will be back very soon. Thank you!

Visited La Lombarda for the first time in three years and won’t be back any time soon. Four in our party ahead of a gig at The Lemon Tree. Two of us had chicken pate which you could have poured out of a jug (duck pate special wasn’t available.) A while after starters were cleared, we were informed there were no anchovies for the spaghetti puttanesca, surely quite a basic ingredient in an Italian restaurant? Mains took nearly 45 minutes to arrive and the risotto casalinga had tiny, perfectly uniform, cubes of chicken which looked like they were processed. £130+ for 2 course dinner for four with six drinks was extremely expensive for the poor quality.

Had a really lovely pre-theatre meal at La Lombardas. They do a really good itison.com deal, 2 courses for 2 people for £19. Can't beat it! Starters and mains were delicious and perfect portion sizes. I always end up choosing the same thing, Buffalo Mozzarella Caprice and Penne Garibaldi, my old favourites! But there's loads on the menu to choose from. Also a good drinks/wine list and service very good. Another lovely evening at La Lombardas.

Lovely meal from start to finish, from the service from Alex to the beautiful pasta with garlic bread….. had read bad reviews so went in with an impression but was extremely surprised with how well we were treated as a group and flavoursome food

My family and I visited the restaurant for early dinner on Sunday. We were served by a waitress who gave us amazing options for our kids and the food was top notch - very authentic, tasty and well priced for the quality, would definitely recommend to families and couples for a romantic meal.

Just had the most wonderful meal with friends. On arrival we were greeted with a very warm welcome by Alex. She was so lovely and very knowledgeable in regards to the menu. Nothing was a bother and made us feel very special. The food was absolutely delicious. Compliments to the chef. We all had pasta dishes for our main. Every one of them full of flavour (clean plates all round) with a side of cheesy garlic bread (totally recommend) and a bowl of chips. Our desserts were equally as good, I had the special which was chocolate fudge cake and my friends had the tiramisu and cheese cake both very tasty. I had the best pink gin and lemonade to drink which was really nice! It was made very well. I would throughly recommend this lovely cosy restaurant. It’s a great location with easy access to the station.

Was over priced for what we actually had and very average ! Asked for cocktails and were unable to provide them because they had run out of most alcohol on a Saturday night. The cocktails that they did make were so undrinkable we sent them back ! Then questioned the bill when they charged them even when we ordered other drinks as the cocktails were so undrinkable. Very average and over priced !

Went with my parter and his family had an amazing time staff so welcoming and friendly and meal was a 10/10 everything was delicious I had the tarter de salmon as a starter and the pollo alla champagne with pasta both was just as delicious as each other, Would recommend to other friends and family’s

Went for an early dinner having received a gift voucher. The atmosphere is cosy and traditional and the service was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my Penne Arrabbiata which had a real chilli kick to it and my partner said his lasagne was excellent. Lovely staff too.

We visited La Lombarda for a special meal, having not been in years and had good experiences. However, this was not a great experience. It was quiet with 6 tables (at most). We waited over 30 minutes for our starters which were an antipasti and bruschetta. My bruschetta was just chopped tomatoes on garlic bread.... Have had better in chain Italian restaurants. My calzone was cold in the middle and very poorly made. My husband's pizza was very average. Again, we waited over 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared and no one checked or asked how we found the food. We only got our plates cleared because we called someone over to ask for the bill. The prices are high and for the quality of food, they are out right atrocious. Considering the competition of other Italian restaurants in Aberdeen, La Lombarda doesn't even compete, unfortunately. It is such ashame as it has been a staple in Aberdeen's city centre for so many years but has gone downhill considerably since I last visited.

Atrocious service, restaurant was cold starters took an age to come no explanation or warning, no bread, extra drinks or anything we had very elderly people with us and two young children who were amazingly patient it then took almost an hour for our main courses to arrive. Pizza wasn’t very good rest of the food was okay we gave up on desserts due to the lateness of the hour! We travelled into the city for this meal really felt let down. Totally understand there any have been good reasons but no explanation or proper apology offered serving staff just said ‘sorry we didn’t know’…

We booked for a set menu as part of Aberdeen's Rstaurant Week. La Lombada is a cosy restaurant which feels smaller than it is, due to the layout. The waiter was very friendly and the food was superb and extremely good value. I had olives and bread for starter and my husband had the mussels, both were very good. My seafood risotto was, I think, the best risotto I've ever eaten and generous with the seafood (prawns, smoked salmon and mussels). My husband also enjoyed his stufado manzo (herby beef casserole). Lots of herby flavours in the main courses.The tiramisu was rich but still light, and a perfect finish to the meal. Will definitely eat there again!

I ordered food via Ubereats. After waiting about 1.5 hours I thought to give them a call. I was told they did not realise that my order was in. I ended up talking to 3 different staff members, finally someone asked me about what I ordered and told me they will call me back. After another 15 minutes I called again just to be told they don’t deliver today... I asked to speak to the person who took my order over the phone and never called me back. Again, another staff member told me they will call me back, which has never happened. So I tried a few more times, but they were just rejecting my calls.

I can say that myself and my girlfriend had a lovely evening in La Lombarda. Delicious food and very vast service. The young gentleman who took our order and seemed to be running things was named Jacob; definitely a good addition to your team. There was another gentleman working whose name we didn't get, and we were rather confused as he was dressed in a simple t-shirt and jeans, not quite the attire I'd think for someone to wear to work in a restaurant like this.

My friend took me here as a celebration for my birthday, it wasn’t a special birthday but we spent a lunch an afternoon of the company of Andrea from Italy he was so welcoming and made us feel we had walked through the doors of an Italian restaurant of real enthinic Italy.

I entered the restaurant with two people seated, OK, I had looked on line for reviews and checked the menu prior to entering. I wished the host a good evening in Italian and I'm not sure if the reply came in Portugese or a south american country but not Italian!!!

Came here with my family for dinner and I just had to leave a review. The service was great and fast and the food was delicious! We ordered two pastas, a pizza and grilled chicken. My family was here visiting and I'm glad I picked this restaurant as everybody was really pleased with the evening. Will be coming back!

Ordered marinara pizza and must say it was not good quality. 4 mussels and 5 prawns on it and pizza dough was soggy. Would not recommend this Italian place as there are so many other Italian restaurants in town. Also waiters took forever to serve food despite the fact it was fairly empty.

I went there just by walking around and saw it in a corner. It was my lucky day! I had a small glass of red Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, bruschetta, and salmon. Everything was really tasty, fresh, and just the right portions. Don’t miss this place.

Popped in on Wednesday night, we had ordered the special meal of the day which has been recommended and also and amazing wine Chianti...which was a perfect pair of our lamb dish,well done to the lady who served us!

I don’t like giving bad reviews, however this is the 3rd time I’m in and its always the same- Long wait mediocre food... on the Upside the atmosphere is great and staff friendly (most of the time)

We were given an itison voucher for la Lombarda - pizza or pasta dish for 2 and a bottle of wine so we went tonight. We added to the voucher for our starters of minestrone soup and the pate. Both were a good portion and delicious. The wine was a good Spanish red We both had pasta - one with chicken - the other for a supplement got prawns calamari and mussels (yum) then we added on a dessert - one sticky toffee pudding and one cheesecake. Absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, so attentive and helpful. Great value for money. We will be back.

Maria was very attentive from the moment we arrived for dinner. She had good dinner suggestions and was very efficient and pleasant in her service. The dinner was excellent and just the right amount. Honestly, everything about our dinner was a five.

La Lombarda is a lovely italian restaurant in the heart of Aberdeen. The staff is wonderful, so kind and always with a smile. The food was delicious, very high quality meat.

Been to this place few times and never got disappointed. I see the comments about waiting times but I would prefer to wait and have good food than being served quickly with mediocre food. Order Italian food in Italian restaurant and you won't be disappointed.

Having enjoyed our last lunch at La Lombarda we had to return. A very wise decision. The staff and management were very friendly and informative and made us most welcome. We chose from the Lunch and early Dinner menu, enjoyed a bottle of the house wine and finished with a digestif and excellent coffee. A wonderful lunch in a relaxed and friendly truly Italian restaurant. We will return!
