not the cheapest but I would say you get what you pay for. Food quality is superb. Decor and surroundings are proper high class. Couldn't fault it!

Visit here often and the standard is always exceptional. Great service and excellent food. Not your usual Chinese restaurant, ambiance is perfect and staff very friendly.

The food was good but the service we received was shockingly bad. Had a table booked for half five, arrived to be told we were far too early, it was 20 past five so went to the bar for a drink. 40 minutes later we were still waiting on our table asked the bar staff to check on it for us and eventually got seated. Once seated and ordered, finding wait staff was near impossible. Not once were we asked if we wanted drinks. Asked for a jug of water for the table. When it eventually arrived there was no glasses brought with it. We waited over an hour for our main meals. Took almost half an hour after the starters for the table to be cleared. Yes the restaurant was busy but I don’t feel that’s an excuse for the lack of service that was being provided.

Excellent food. Great service. 2 course menu is good value. Cocktail bar really nice as well. Hands down best Chinese restaurant I’ve been to bar none !

As a gluten free vegetarian they were very careful with my food and have a good choice on the gluten free menu. We visited with friends and yet again the food and service is outstanding. We will be back

We went to La Dragon last Saturday night around 5:15 and had the special - we had a 3 course meals for under £20. The dishes were the usual high standard and delicious

Superb easily the best places to eat in all of ayrshire for this type of cuisine and still 1 of the best of the best overall, we had the toban shredded chicken as my partner had the salt and chilli spiced which was amazing

Can't say I was overly impressed with the food. Was glad we went on a Sunday when it was 2 or 3 courses for a set price. Service was good and the place is lovely inside, just expected more from the food.

My husband and I went here for a rare meal out without the kids. It was exactly what we needed. Lovely atmosphere, really nice surroundings, great service and the food was out of this world. We had starters and mains each and every dish was delicious. You have to book well before you want to go as it is so popular and seems to be really busy all the time. Would definitely recommend.

5 of us visited this restaurant for my brothers birthday last night and I could not fault the food or service we were given. We had cocktails which were brilliant and everyone enjoyed their meal thoroughly. The service we were given was also top quality, such friendly staff and always there to check we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Will definitely be back, thank you.

Arrived with my friend. We had a table booked for 4 and 2 friends had cancelled. Informed a member of staff who moved us to a smaller table because they wanted the bigger table for someone else. Waiting time between starters and main course being served was quite long. Food was nice however the bill came to £62 for 2 starters 2 main courses and 2 soft drinks each which I found overpriced for what we were served. Service was poor and once we had paid the bill a member of staff practically rushed us away from the table as she wanted to clear it. Been to La Dragon a few times and personally don’t think it is worth the money. I don’t think we will be back. Food was good but I was really disappointed with the service.

Been there a couple of times. Food was ok for Ayrshire but not Glasgow standard. Last time I was upset by the treatment the waiting staff were getting from a male and female who looked like managers, although didn’t seem to be lifting a finger. Tonight we sat for 15 minutes. Totally ignored by numerous staff as they walked past. Not even offered drinks. A shambles of a place. We walked out.

Came here on a busy Saturday night. Table wasn’t ready for 20 minutes and initially asked to wait in the champagne bar - equally busy, no seats and at 8 months pregnant not very happy to do so so was found a seat outside a service door to wait at. Lovely decor, very modern and they are doing a great trade. However I found it too noisy and staff whilst polite looked a bit frayed. Food was tasty but took far too long to arrive so this spoiled it for me. They need more kitchen and waiting staff on busy nights. The table behind us complained. Unfortunately not the experience I was looking for and don’t think I’d be back. Not at the weekend anyway.

The meals were good, and the manager kindly allocated us a table despite turning up without a booking. However on the downside there was a table with very excited noisy children who would just randomly scream and be disruptive the entire time we were eating, so I wouldn't recommend this if you are looking for somewhere quiet and child-free. It's also a little expensive so for the price I would have expected a little less disruptive environment.

Lovely 2 course lunch full of flavour and certainly not full of salt like a previous reviewer suggested.

Heard great things about La Dragon, the ambience, decor and staff met my expectations however the food was a real let down. I ordered the chicken curry with fried rice which came to £12.95 and followed this up with the sticky toffee pudding which was just under £7. Portion size was poor and the only taste i got from the curry was salt. The sticky toffee pudding wasn’t up to much either and i left still feeling hungry. I could’ve went to the noodle bar and spent £5 and felt more satisfied. I told others about my experience and this appears like it could have been a once off as anyone else i’ve spoke to had nothing but great things to say, as for me, i won’t be back.

Food was great. Unfortunately all the staff, including the managers, looked utterly miserable. Surroundings were lovely.

Have dined in la dragon a few times now. Beautiful surroundings, extensive menu, food and service absolutely excellent. Couldn’t fault it at all. Will continue to go there.

Ate here with the family and found the food, staff and setting good as always. The restaurant is always booked out which is a great sign of how good it is. Staff friendly and attentive as always with the food fresh and packed with flavour

We used to eat in dragon royal before it moved premises and changed the name to la dragon Preferred when I was dragon Royal more personal service and better prices

Went for Christmas lunch and cocktails, all in all a decent experience, are from the 2 course lunch special, tasty starter and lovely main, service was both speedy and attentive, wouldn't hesitate to recommend here.

Had food from the lunch menu. Food was delicious, hot and served beautifully. Service was excellent. Overall very, very good. Will visit again.

We visited for an evening meal on a Friday night. On arrival we were asked to go to the bar as our table was being cleared for us. A further 30 mins after our booking time I approached the host who seemed to have forgotten us, and we were seated shortly after.

I asked for a gin and tonic with a little ice, it came back full of ice, when I complained the waitress took it back removed the ice and I am sure the gin also and banged it down on the table, I felt annoyed but the food was excellent

A very nice place to relax and have a meal modern inside and food good quality if a little overpriced a few unusual dishes on the menu a bit different to your normal Chinese.Worth a try.

We have have been for both evening meals and lunch to La Dragon.The food is excellent quality and second to none.The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean and staff are polite and friendly.It has a lovely ambient atmosphere.Would highly recommend it to all.

Fixed price lunch. Food was great in excellent surroundings. This is as good a Chinese restaurant as you will get anywhere in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

I hope I am wrong but sadly I have to say the quality and presentation of the food has declined since our last visit a couple of months ago when we enthused over the food and service

Cant thank them enough for last night , there was 16 of us and they gave us the VIP room which was lovely, fantastic service , food delicious and cocktails was lovely , my mother doesn't eat anything with flavour shes the most fussy person so they made her plain chicken and chips with gravy she was over the moon ,I'm vegetarian and the veggie chow mein was delicious!!!cant fault anything and all staff was lovely as per usual, la dragon is perfect for special occasions, thank you again xx

Visited La Dragon for the first time and we absolutely loved the food that we had from an extensive menu. Decor and ambience is lovely and the service from all the staff was fantastic. Highly recommended!!

What a great new Chinese restaurant in Kilmarnock. Very nice decor and ambience and a great selection of food on the menu. You are spoilt for choice.

Once we finally got a table ( could not find our name even though it was booked 3 week in advance) .

Got to try this relatively new restaurant. Food was delicious. I had salt & chilli prawns with shredded chicken in a kueng po sauce for main. It was delicious. My brother & sister in law are both vegetarian and said there food was lovely as well. Staff were very nice & efficient. Next time I want to try the calamari which had sadly ran out.

We had a very nice meal here on Saturday evening good service only gripe would be please turn up the lighting and turn down the air con it was freezing really not comfortable cool air blowing whilst trying to enjoy our meal food is excellent well priced and good menus choice. Just make sure you dress for cold weather which I will I will give it another try at some point to see if these things improve

This review isn't based on the food or wait staff but the management of this place my aunt and a group of her friends have been very good customers of la dragon going there for most special occasions and buying each other vouchers for birthdays and Christmas my aunt was told she couldn't use her voucher for take away despite trying to explain that due to some pretty severe health issues she would no longer be able to get down the stairs but absolutely no sympathy whatsoever just told no so they have lost a lot of customers as none of our friends or family will be back appaling customer service and absolutely no compassion

I was given a gift voucher as a Christmas present and due to operations affecting my mobility and subsequent complications, I was unable to use the voucher within the 6 months.

My favourite restaurant, all round you cannot fault the service and the food, no wonder always very busy

Having driven from East Lothian to Kilmarnock to meet family for lunch I was very impressed with La Dragon. The restaurant is lovely and the food delicious, we all had something different for starters and main course. Prices are very reasonable too. Will definitely eat here again and recommend it to others.

A bit more upmarket than your average Chinese restaurant, but the food is beautifully cooked and the service is excellent.

Have eaten here on several occasions, never been disappointed by the food, service or menu. Staff provide excellent service, the menu is vast and caters for vegans and other dietary needs.

After all the rave reviews I’ve heard I have heard about this place I was decidedly underwhelmed by it. Don’t get me wrong the place is well set out and decor very good but the meal was at best a average. Add to that service wasn’t the quickest but to be fair it was busy. Can think of a good few other places locally I would prefer to visit!!

The food never fails to impress me, absolutely delicious.There were 3 of us who throughly enjoyed it.Good value for excellent food and a great choice.We will be back.

We were a birthday dinner group of 12, and everyone loved their meal and found the service super. As well as Chinese style banquets/set dinner options, we also had 2 people try the Thai curries and loved them. The quality of cooking is better than a usual Chinese, and the decor is really smart with great service, easy parking right outside & we weren’t rushed away at the end. Would recommend you book as it’s very popular, but would highly recommend as great addition to the Kilmarnock restaurant options!

This establishment is a joy to visit. The food is excellent with plenty of choice at reasonable prices and specials. The decor makes it a pleasant place to dine and there is plenty of parking at hand, although mostly metered.

We visited here twice in the space of a week and found the only letdown to be timekeeping. The table wasn’t ready when we had booked them, after making the reservation earlier than we would have liked as that was the only time slot available in the restaurant. Interior nice. Menu extensive and quality of food is good. Some of the staff could be a bit more cheery but other than that it’s a nice place. The layout is quite cramped but the food more than makes up for that.

Popped here for a Sunday evening meal after a recommendation from family and are so glad we did ! Beautiful decor - great staff and amazing food . We had chicken satay and lettuce wraps to start followed by crispy beef and chicken toban . Every dish was superb and we were shown the champagne bar as we left after asking for a quick look - just stunning - look forward to having a chambers or two there next time we visit. A great addition to Ayrshire’s dining scene ! ❤️

This was our first visit to La Dragon and we very impressed with the flavours and quality of our dishes. The only fault was with our main courses, the food although it was amazing, wasn't exactly piping hot and I would have liked the plates, as well as the food, to have been served warmer.

Ate in here recently and, whilst food and surroundings were both lovely, the bill varied significantly from what was ordered.

Absolutely love this place - then they do a £19 3 course deal for early diners!! It was no wonder it was fully booked!!

With the champagne bar on the ground floor and the restaurant downstairs this a a fabulous experience. The menu choice is well constructed with the correct number of choices and not too many. The quality of the food is excellent. The staff are knowlegable and friendly but unobtrusive. The wine menu is the same with some great wine and value for money prices. Pricing we great value for money Product quality was exceptional. We only discover this place recently and we will definitely be back

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to La Dragon. Staff were very attentive even though it was busy. Choice of dishes was fantastic. Prices for the early bird menu were good. My food was very tasty and a good portion size. I will be paying a return visit soon

A lot of work colleagues and friends went to la dragon for dinner. Service was slowish but the food certainly pleased everyone the dishes were well cooked and presentation was very good, wine prices were above average £7.50 for small glass of sauvignon blanc and cocktails around £6.95. Restaurant was very busy.

We had the lunch time offer and were extremely happy with the whole experience.

Booked a table for 8pm, was shown to our table at 8.45pm ,starters arrived 9.20pm,main course served at 10.10pm, first time at the restaurant but certainly won't be rushing back.

In very pleasant and comfortable surroundings we had a very tasty meal with good friendly service. Would definitely go back for another meal as an excellent venue.

Check your bill- ordered house merlot and was given a bottle costing £27.95 . When questioned the bill with owner Kenny was told that house wine is “the best wine” and not the merlot at £20 a bottle which we wrongly assumed would he the house wine . In spite of a bill of almost £200 he did nothing to resolve the misunderstanding - we don’t be back until attitudes change.

Been twice now, on both occasions I’ve found the service very slow, even tho the restaurant wasn’t busy, we were in both times for the lunchtime special menu.

Not being the biggest fan of Chinese food, it has been some time since my last "sit-in" dining experience from a Chines restaurant

I recently celebrated my birthday along with my good lady with a meal at La Dragon 3 St Marnock Place in Kilmarnock. The choice was tremendous and the meal that was served up to us was above average in fact if I was marking it out of ten, it would get a ten plus. The décor was lovely too. The only faults I had were that there was no fork provided for the sweet, I know that we could have asked for one. Also those that served us were very busy and had no time to strike up a conversation. Would recommend this establishment to all.

Visited today for lunch and the food and service was excellent. Lots of variety in the menu along with traditional dishes, also very tastefully decorated.

We visited this restaurant with friends on Friday night. We were warmly welcomed and the decor is outstanding. The staff are first class and give plenty of time between courses.

I'm not one to leave reviews, literally the first time, but I feel I need to give praise when praise is due.

Was in for dinner on Friday with family and we had a lovely evening. When we arrived we received a warm welcome from Kenny. The food was delicious and the service was quick. I had the fillet steak and the meat was so tender and full of flavour! We were served by a blonde girl(sorry can’t remember her name) and a boy called Kyle who were both very friendly and polite. After my meal I tried the cocktail of the week -rose gold martini which was amazing! Will definitely back both for some drinks in the champagne bar and for what I’m sure will be another amazing meal.

I was really impressed by La Dragon and it's just what Kilmarnock needed. The food was excellent, service really friendly and efficient and the decor is lovely. We didn't try the Champagne bar on the ground floor, but had a look in and it too looked really nice. I had veg in yellow bean sauce with cashews and my mum and dad both had chicken and beef curries. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. We were made to feel very welcome by who I think were the owners, which was really nice. It was incredibly busy on the Saturday night we were there, so it's best to book a table in advance. We're already planning on returning next week, it was so good! I'd highly recommend La Dragon; there's nowhere else in Kilmarnock that comes anywhere close to this.
