Friendly staff, though was very quiet so we received instant attention when needed. Food was good, especially the fish. I'd say marginally pricey for the quantity. Decent wine selection

Had a lovely meal here via a wowcher deal with a friend on a very cold night and the staff could not have been more warm and friendlier. The food was served very quickly and the waitress was always there making sure our glasses were topped up with prosecco from our bottle on the table. Great food, so altogether it was a lovely evening. I definitely recommend this eaterie.

This is a very reasonably priced lunch with a great outside seating area, weather allowing.I have lived in Italy and know REAL Italian food when I taste it.All the food is home made including the pastas and the bread. They give you complementary and very delicious cakes, even if you just drop in for a cup of great Italian coffee.I do not understand the review saying this is awful. It may be from someone who is only used to carluccios and Pizza Hut, because is imply can not recognise the description as having any founding in reality

Complimenti a tutti.Saluti da Gragnano e Castellammare di Stabia.

This review is a couple months overdue but well worth reviewing. I recently got married in St David's Church just around the corner and had our wedding dinner at La Dolce Vita. The staff were very professional, kind and attentive to guests, they even helped my 90 year old nan walk to and from her table. They were so accommodating with our request and even created a special, delicious wedding cake for us.We have dined here a few times and can easily say the food is outstanding and well worth a visit, be it for a quiet meal or a full party.

Our house was a building site, kitchen unusable, I went through taste card website to find nearest decent restaurant. Came upon dolce vita. Couldn't have been more delighted. The food was really interesting, beautifully presented and far better than we could have hoped. Wine list is small but good. Staff helpful friendly and appropriately attentive. No hesititation on recommending it and hope you will enjoy it. It has recently opened , I do hope they can build enough support to develop and flourish. Would suggest it for larger parties too

Top, top quality pasta and a short but very good value wine list. Main courses also consistently very good with quality ingredients. They also got 8 of us in and out before the Arsenal v Olympiakos match - as it happens i wish we had stayed in the restaurant for espresso and petit fours ! Good work guys - we are becoming regulars. Evening meal for 3, friendly welcome from Giovanni and his team....very interesting menu with a good choice of the more unusual italian dishes, we had a mixed selection for starters including the excellent Arancino and the fish tartar.. all starters excellent and freshly prepared, then a selection of the home made pasta, the tagliolini with crab comes highly recommended, main courses of tuna and monkfish, again excellent, and we tried 3 of the desserts which were all right up there, we will be back again soon soon.......

This new restaurant/cocktail bar has taken the site of several of our favourites - e.g Morgan M, and Asiette Anglaise. The food is great, and the service superb. We first visited with friends, then couldn't wait to bring the family. Cocktails are to die for, and the starters and deserts excellent, but my favourite by far is the crab tagliolini - I've had it twice already!

I do not usually review restaurants abroad, but La Dolce Vita Islington really entered in our heart.I went at La Dolce Vita with a couple of friends for dinner and almost by accident.I was looking for a relaxed atmosphere, where I could sit and enjoy a good plate of pasta and greeted with a smile by the general manager, we felt it was the right place.Being a new opening, we were a bit timid, but the special reception given, convinced us.And so Giovanni made us sit, explaining the dishes, suggesting the specials of the house and telling us that all the pastas are homemade, which is a big plus considering the pairings from the restaurant. The mojito we drank was truly exceptional and, accompanied by a plate of appetizers offered, the evening began with the right foot.I took the courgette stuffed flowers as a starter and, I must say, were very pleasant. As first, trusting suggestions, I threw myself on the ravioli amatriciana: excellent! Finally, for dessert, I chose the crostatina della nonna. I expected a normal tart, but the pastry chef surprised me with a dessert rather extraordinary. Needless to say, as was the superlative combination of crunchy pastry with vanilla chantilly. Must try it!

Went for an ad hoc birthday lunch with the family, giovanni was attentive humorous and delighted at our custom, we started with cocktails and, as a rum fan, I went for a daiquiri which I have to say was one of the best I've ever hadthe menu is distinctly Italian, the crab pasta dish was creamy and subtle with a real taste of decadence to it and the fresh pasta in the dish was beautifully made with a perfect texture and home made flavour to it.Having discovered it was my birthday Giovanni asked the chef to rustle something up, it turned out to be a delightful fruit tart with crime anglaise with mini muffins that wouldn't look out of place in a high end French patisserie. If I lived closer I could see myself visiting this restaurant on a weekly basis, being away from the deluge of eateries on upper street makes it less likely to receive passing trade, it is a gem worth seeking out if you like Italian food that seems simple but is cooked exceptionally well, Makes carluccios seem like McDonald's in comparison

Visited La Dolce Vita in Islington for the first time yesterday. I must confess that I not often take the time to give reviews on trip advisor but thought on this occasion I would make an exception. La Dolce Vita is by far the best italien restaurant I have been to in a very long time. I understand it has only opened quite recently and it is certainly worth a visit. The decor and tableware is very stylish and befitting of any high class restaurant but the warm welcome and attentiveness of the italien staff gives the place a very relaxed and unstuffy atmosphere. I chose the ravioli from the lunchtime menu and the homemade pasta was absolutely define. Giovani and his team are clearly very passionate about their restaurant and this reflects in their food and quality of service. I wish them the best of luck and hope to come back soon.

It's early days as they've only been just on a month open, but folk in Islington need to pay a visit to this new restaurant/bar. It is on the old corner site of the Adam & Eve, replaced by Morgan M., replaced by Assiette Anglaise and then Bosco. It's been a while since a really successful team have operated on this fascinating historic corner, overlooking the verdure of St Mary Magdalen Park. But now one has arrived. We went to test it out, and so four foodie discriminating friends decided on a Thursday lunchtime. From the off, it was impressive. Giovanni, the house manager, welcomes you with smooth courtesy, and the high class new furniture and decorative details show a commitment to investment from the backers. This is a one-off enterprise, not to be confused with others of a similar name! Cocktails were diligently ordered, sipped and evaluated. Thumbs up all round, exquisite colours and benign proportions. and the house presented us with big olives and warm bread to make sure we kept our sense of perspective. Two of the drinkers pronounced them the best cocktails they'd ever experienced, and Giovanni clearly took pride and care in their preparation. The meals ordered matched our now established expectations. Two ricottas, a crab tagliolini and the chef's vegetarian lasagane all won praise for home-made attention to detail and delicious ingredients. Portions were generous and well presented. No room for desserts, but Giovanni insisted hospitably upon us receiving a small tray bearing eight of his patisserie chef Martini's exquisite desserts. Wow! It's the sort of place where you can really relax and take life in. The service merited (rather than presumed) to be acknowledged, and it certainly was - with no charge added to the bill in advance. Candidly, and remarkably, we paid just over £60 to more than satisfy four friends who walked away on air. We'll be back. Try it, and be delighted!

Absolutely banging Sunday roast!! Has jumped into my top 3 for sure. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and the food was impeccable. Had the pork belly, crackling was exceptional, potatoes were out of this world. Cauli cheese comes as standard - as it should (but often doesn’t). Also thought it was pretty good value for money for the quality and quantity of food - £80 for two roasts, 2 large red wines and a beer and incl tip. Will definitely be back.

Really good breakfast/lunch options. The smoothie was really good, we had the Nutella banana pancakes and the chorizo pancakes and both were really good, the savoury pancakes are almost like a calzone, was a nice twist on standard pancake options. Would definitely come again, good value for money also
