La Dolce Vita in Shropshire

we went to La Dolce Vita for the 6 course tasting menu last night and also had the additional cheese course. From the second we went in the service and the food was amazing. every course was beautiful and we can't wait to go again.

Small, relaxing and clean restaurant. Very welcoming and friendly staff. The food was outstanding.

Had the most amazing taster meal in this family owned restaurant, one of us a meat eater and two pescatarians. The food was inventive and creative, nothing like your average Italian restaurant, and seriously challenged some of the top restaurants we’ve been to. Lovely friendly service too. Would come back here in a heartbeat!

We had a wonderful time at La Dolce Vita. The 4-course tasting menu we had was delicious, with beautiful presentation and subtle flavours. The service was also excellent and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They really went out of their way and were very accommodating of the dietary requirements in our group. A really lovely evening!

Simply incredible from start to finish! It's far beyond a good meal out. We opted for the 6 course taster menu and both got the optional extra courses and the wine flight. Every single course was deliberate and packed with flavours, textures and even tempurates. Original thoughts with expert execution. You won't try anything like it again in your life. Something you must experience, and something to remember. The wine was paired beautifully with descriptions of each bottle given from the host, complimented by a true Italian accent. He was warm and attentive all evening, and all elements of the service were perfect, even pairing the wine for our additional courses. And the food was bought out and explained by the chefs mom, who was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and passionate. We thought the value was fantastic for the genuinely extraordinary experience we received. I will be back for every new menu now I know you're open Sunday evenings, something new to look forward to. A 10/10 dining Experience! La Dolce Vita presented an incredibly intricate, adventurous and beautiful selection on it's taster menu. Paired beautifully with its Wine flight, each course took us through a journey of flavour and texture that left us exceptionally satisfied. This was a dining experience that I have rarely had the pleasure of enjoying. Utterly wonderful food and presentation! The entire meal lasted over 3 hours, which to our surprise had flown by without notice. We were far too ingrained in the tastes, dishes and very comforting service from the staff. We had a lovely conversation with the staff at the end of the night which thankfully allowed us to compliment their amazing restaurant! We were made to feel like part of the family :) Definitely a must to visit if looking for a dining experience in Shrewsbury!

Exquisite! Exceptional! You will leave with your belly six courses heavier (and your purse sixty-five quid lighter) - but you will be content with both counts. Every course is well thought out and pulled together into a blend that seems more set for an artist's palette than the plate - because surely it can't taste as good as it looks? But tasty it is, and by the end of the evening, you will agree that six was just about the magic number of courses (unless you fancy adding the cheese - we did - in which case seven is heaven...) It's not cheap, but you certainly don't feel swindled, as every ingredient is unequivocally fresh. We suggest that LDV must have a hidden garden behind the restaurant that is fully stocked with ripe fennel, pumpkins, porcini mushrooms, microherbs, macroherbs, and megaherbs (the final two may be made up). Service is friendly, familial, and altogether Italian. Delicious food with lovely hosting, and the vegetarian option is a beast of its own that is worth coming back for - there's no 'just take away the meat' here - it is clearly a carefully considered menu, and many of the veggie dishes compete with (or beat!) the meaty versions. Prices on the wine list are also surprisingly reasonable. Recommended! And recommended again!

We had a wonderful evening at La Dolce Vita, the food was excellent. Each course was varied and a great combination of flavours. The restaurant is cosy and has a good atmosphere. The host and all the staff were pleasant, helpful and attentive. We hope to visit there again soon.

We booked La Dolce Vita for our anniversary dinner and opted the six course taster menu...and it was perfect in every way! This is quite a small, family run, restaurant with only a few tables and, as a result, the service is very personal. Chef presents some of the courses at the table and everything is explained in great detail which adds to the experience. The food is sensational, seasonal and exquisitely prepared so that you can taste every ingredient on the plate. Special mentions have to go to the heritage tomato salad starter that is served with baby basil leaves, a tomato water and frozen mozzarella (more an ice cream actually but literally "summer on a plate") and the strawberries with a cracked black pepper merengue and basil ice cream dessert. However, to choose these above the other 4 courses feels desperately unfair as every dish was insanely delicious. The wine options are fabulous and clearly chosen with great care and the whole setting feels modern and comfortable but very stylishly Italian. We cannot recommend La Dolce Vita enough and will certainly be going back. Many thanks to all of the staff who made our visit so special.

Exceptional food. I have eaten taster menus in a lot of places and as a vegetarian I seem to get an array of different takes on the same things... but not here. Each dish was well thought out, extremely tasty and very well executed. I loved the atmosphere. It is small and bejou and intimate. Over all I couldn't fault the food or the wine flight.

We dinned here 9/9/23 this place is mind blowing I have eaten all over the world and believe me the food here was fantastic from the moment we walked in to the time we left we both loved this place

On arrival the owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. On a Friday and Saturday its a tasting menu. Each course was absolutely delicious. The quantity of everything served was high. A real taste sensation The basil icecream was a beautiful surprise. All areas were spotlessly clean. Service was spot on. Highly recommended restaurant.

My Mum and I really enjoyed everything about La Dolce Vita. We had the 4 course tasting menu; one vegetarian. Every single course was really delicious. Each dish used fresh ingredients and the range of flavours and attention to detail was impressive. Patricia was really lovely and welcoming and explained each dish as it was served. She told us that her son cooks everything and along with husband Luigi they have a great family run restaurant with a modern take on classic Italian food. Yum!

Such a wonderful experience, food and atmosphere. We wanted to find the best Italian in town after a rather disappointing experience at another during out last visit to Shrewsbury. We found it! The variety of delicious courses, the unbelievable tastes and the loving explanation of each from the chef and staff was first class. No request was too much and we had a great evening at La Dolce Vita and we'll be back at the first opportunity...thank you!

Thank you for a wonderful dining experience on Saturday. The food was sublime and my husband really enjoyed the companion flight of wine. My husband enjoyed the mackerel the most of the first 2 courses whilst I preferred the richness of the asparagus. We both loved the freshness of the pasta and the extravagance of the duck. The deserts were amazing and I simply couldn’t choose between them as to my favourite. The staff were pleasant and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was relaxed. We will definitely be back and I look forward to the new dishes on offer as the menu changes monthly.

It had been a while since I'd dined at La Dolce Vita. I had always enjoyed the food, service and ambience but what a change since my last meal!!!! The taster menu is stupendous, amazing, so flavoursome, tasty, and so tastefully and beautifully presented. The Addagio family's attention to detail is superb with each course being delivered to the table with great pride, knowledge and understanding of all the ingredients. The atmosphere was, as ever, most welcoming, friendly and 'cosey'. A lovely evening - I won't leave so long the next time

My husband and I went to the Dolce Vita to celebrate both of our birthdays. We had a warm welcome, the service was great and the food exquisite. You don't mind paying extra for good quality service and food. Great menu option. Would warmly recommend a visit to this lovely restaurant just to meet the family who run it and to have a good dining experience.

We were so lucky to have chanced a walk by visit and benefitted from a cancellation at this popular little restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and had the six course vegetarian taster menu and savoured some complimentary nibbles. Every dish was cooked and presented with such skill and thought. Bursting with flavour the dishes came with a mouth watering description of the ingredients... sounded and tasted like poetry! We opted for a great quality house red wine and rounded off the meal with coffee a generous board of italian cheeses, honey, pickles and cracker assortment. What a delight to dine here. 11/10.

Well. What an incredible place. Stunning food, perfect service, beautiful atmosphere. They’ve done the basics really, really (incredibly) well (not talking about the food, which was anything but basic!). If you want first class gourmet food in a relaxed environment with attentive personable service, look no further than La Dolce Vita Shrewsbury. What a place.

My parents and I booked a six-course tasting menu at La Dolce Vita for my birthday celebration, and everything was perfect. From booking with Patricia, Luigi's warm welcome and Patricia and Gennaro's expertise in the kitchen, everything about the evening was magical. I enjoy Italian cuisine, taking keen interest through my own cooking and experience, but La Dolce Vita takes Italian food to the next level. A stand-out dish was the maccheroni alla carbonara served with our aperitivi; every individual flavour of a typical pasta alla carbonara featured as a stand-out taste in this one-bite aperitif. A great opener for the perfection of every dish that followed. My mum has some dietary requirements, which were considered and factored into every single course. Often, dietary requirements can mean a second-rate experience. Patricia and the team made sure that this was not the case, going above and beyond to ensure that all three members of the party had an exquisite evening. La Dolce Vita is wonderfully authentic, taking Italian cuisine up a notch, and I will definitely return (and recommend an evening there to anyone seeking a five-star dining experience in Shrewsbury). Love this place, the staff, Luigi and Patricia, a great team and the food is absolutely superb accompanied by their wine pairing, whether the wine flight or recommendation per glass/bottle.

My wife and I had the 6 course tasting menu which was fabulous, exceptional flavour and presentation for every course. The new hand made crockery finished off the dishes wonderfully. All enjoyed with a lovely Sauvignon. We will be visiting again with friends and family. Our favourite restaurant and it's in our home town.

We have been a few times now to this restaurant and I can not fault this place. Service is amazing food is outstanding it's spotless! They are so friendly. Upon leaving the chef (lady) came out and made sure we enjoyed the food, you can tell the food is so fresh. Wine was beautiful (Chianti). Honestly the best restaurant in Shrewsbury.

What a lovely birthday treat! The food was excellent, with flavour combinations I'd never tried together before but which worked brilliantly. Everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The service was very attentive and swift. The restaurant decor is neutral and pleasant, although a little lacklustre and not quite in keeping with the level of excellence achieved by the food... But it didn't materially detract from a very enjoyable meal. We will definitely visit again.

We were staying for a week 30 minutes from Shrewsbury. I tried booking this restaurant for my wife’s birthday through the web site only to find it was closed and the owners were holidaying in Italy. Patricia answered the email and couldn’t do enough for us to get us booked in once they got back later that week. Well what can I say about this amazing restaurant? The staff were incredible, friendly, polite and knew all about the food and drink that was on offer. Explained what each course of the 4 course taster menu was and the wine that came with it, but omg the food!!! The chefs are magicians with what they sent out to us, the magic that awoke our taste buds was amazing and sent them on a party of exploration into a foodie’s heaven. We have been into Michelin starred restaurants in the past, but nothing has been able to compete with what we had served to us at la dolce vita. We are contemplating even travelling the 2.5 hours from home, staying overnight just to visit this amazing restaurant again. An incredible find , incredible staff and incredible food. Made a visit based on a recommendation by a friend, we were thoroughly impressed. I had the standard Taster Menu and my Wife had the Vegetarian Taster Menu option, both accompanied with the Wine Flight. The food and the flavors were absolutely amazing, the wines added to the whole experience. Service was first class and we were made to feel very welcome. Recommended without hesitation. Magnifico!

This was the best taster we have had for a long time, it gave us unexpected flavours throughout, every course provided amazing creativity, and was thoroughly enjoyable in every sense, thank you to Patricia, her husband and son, we will visit again, next time we are in Shrewsbury.

We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. The chef was so accommodating for my pregnant wife offering alternatives wherever possible. She actually noticed without us saying and came out to talk us through the menu. We had the 6 cource tasting menu which was all extremely well thought through and the flavours were incredible. The wine pairing I had was also spot on. Very friendly staff. As I say a wonderful experience and would recommend unreservedly.

Excellent, friendly service. We pre-booked a table for 4 , arrived at the appointed time and were immediately seated at our table . We chose the 6 course tasting menu plus 3 person wine pairing. Each course was explained along with the wine description. Every Couse was greatly enjoyed by myself and the other party members. A truly memorable meal and smiling faces all round. The family owned and run restaurant was a very relaxed and friendly place to eat . Expertly prepared and cooked dishes served by lovely family members. Highly recommended , we all said we would return again as soon as possible

Wow, we came here again after three years and nothing has changed. The food is outstanding, and the atmosphere is lovely. Dishes make you question your senses and think about what you taste. Highly recommend also as an experience. The service is very knowledgeable and very attentive.

AMAZING! My husband treated me to a surprise trip away including a visit to La Dolce Vita. We both had the tasting menu- every single dish was beautiful. The food was amazing. The restaurant is owned and ran by a husband and wife. They were lovely and explained each dish. There was also a young waiter who was fantastic. My husband also had a cheese course which he said was delicious. I look forward to visiting again!

Extremely disappointing place which was recommended by friends. No atmosphere, service was rude, slow and forgetful. Very small menu but food rather underwhelming and small portions. Unimpressed with almost everything about the place, the food and most definitely the service.

Went here last night for a friends birthday, the service and food were absolutely first class, we had the 6 course taster menu and every course was something special. If your looking for something a bit special then this place certainly provides that. A big thumbs up to all of you involved.

We enjoyed a fabulous evening at La Dolce Vita last Sunday. Their USP is that the menu, which is either a 4 or 6 course tasting menu, lists only the principal ingredients of each dish. this changes each month to make the most of seasonal ingredients. We opted for the 6 course tasting menu which on this occasion consisted of starter, fish, pasta, meat and 2 dessert courses. The quality of the ingredients and the cooking and presentation of each course were all excellent. Wines are all Italian from across the regions and they are reasonably priced. Service was the perfect balance of friendly yet professional. All in all a fabulous evening and I would highly recommend.

Just wow, food here is awesome. Its not cheap but you don't come here for burger and chips with the kids. We went for an anniversary treat and had the 6 course menu. Each course was amazing such fresh flavours and while being Mediterranean wasn't the cliche stuff you would get at a pizza express or Bella Italia. Each plate was a delightful experience even the tirramisu which I usually would avoid was perfect as they presented a deconstructed version so I could avoid the strong coffee cream and savour the chocolate and cream. Portions look small but I was comfortably full at the end of the meal. Fantastic experience

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful anniversary meal here — and we’d only booked after a precious reservation fell through at the last minute. Thankfully this restaurant had a last minute cancellation and squeezed us in, whereby we enjoyed the four course tasting menu. Each course more delicious than the last and the ‘Snickers’ was a particular highlight. The wine recommendation was excellent and the first Sicilian white we’d tried, certainly won’t be the last though! Would fully recommend a visit here for a special occasion, fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere and at a reasonable price for the quality.

Every course was a unbelievably amazing, we had the 6 course and i couldn't tell you my favourite because they all were. The crab and melon was out of this world and left your taste buds tingling. the slow cooked rose veal inside the potato balls was incredible and just left you wanting more. the ricotta pasta with tomato water really was a taste sensation and the tirrimisu was like nothing I'd tasted before. Absolutely everything was brilliant. The staff were so friendly too. Really worth a visit.

No stay in Shrewsbury would be complete without a meal at La Dolce Vita. I went for the four course option as I have found my appetite diminishes with age, sadly.But it was great evening and helped compensate for not being able to travel to Italy. Each dish with a lovely balance.To accompany the food I had a bottle of Italian "Corvo" which I love. Service as good as the food and wine.

A delightful meal served by great staff, friendly without being overwhelming.Advised us gently about the taster menu we chose the 6 course one and it proved to be 7 or 8 an extra sweet a twixt, I think, to die for or because of! All we can say is we will be going again if we can make it in the future. Have been to highly rated places here at home in the Lake District that we would not go to again!Thank you Dolce for a great time.
