La Dolce Vita in Swansea

We have dined at La Dolce Vita many times but the three of us were disappointed not to have saute potatoes. They were on the menu but when they arrived with the vegetables they weren't saute potatoes at all but new potatoes that had been fried - not great I'm afraid.

What a delightful little restaurant. We both ate the pasta, followed by a cheesecake with mango, and a creme broulle dessert, all delicious and of the highest standard. The staff could not have been more pleasant and attentive.

New to the area and tried this restaurant based on reviews. It did not disappoint for our last evening in the mumbles. Surprised it was fairly quiet for a Saturday evening although out of season. Therefore we were not rushed and service was excellent. We both had the ricotta ravioli with sage butter, which was light and delicious and perfect portion as a starter. My husband had the chicken and mushroom in the gorgonzola sauce, and I had the seabass and king prawn and sambuca sauce. I don’t like sambuca to drink but the sauce was incredible. Served with carrots and white cabbage. I guess the only feedback would be, it would be nice to have some green veg served with the mains. Again, due to someone else’s comment, we tried the tiramisu, which is home-made and gorgeous plus very light. Overall a fabulous evening & would return next time we are here.

Excellent lunch. Excellent service. Excellent setting. A lovely venue for a relaxed lunch. We will certainly visit again in the near future.

We visited on a Saturday evening, table for 2 booked at 7pm. The restaurant was quite busy, but still didn't feel overcrowded. My partner and I had 3 courses plus a bottle of house red and everything we ate and drink was beautiful. Special shout out to the pork belly starter which was unbelivable, and the rack of lamb main course - the sauce was just divine! The Tirimasu was also very, very good. Portion sizes were spot on, not too big, not too small. We definitely weren't hungry when we left. Service from Paulina and the other staff was brilliant. We will be back!

First time at La Dolce Vita, was told by a friend how nice it was. We went on a Saturday night, place was busy the Atmosphere was lovely and the Staff were very Attentive. The food was Excellent and very Tasty, we had three courses, as you do. The only Disappointing thing was the Toilets, they need to spend some Money on tidying up both Women and Gent's Toilet's, rusty radiator's, rusty Toilet roll holder's, sink plug missing from Gent's, we feel it takes the shine of this lovely place but we will return.

Went for impromptu supper as driving past and on street parking available. Our waitress Paulina was very friendly and jolly. I loved the unusual Frangellico inclusion in my Espresso Martini. Our garlic prawn starters were superb, so tasty, no shells just tails to peel off, so not too fiddly. My husbands sea bass was as good as it gets, he was very happy. I was very disappointed W my gluten free carbonara, which was very sticky & no “spare” sauce at all. In their defence.. the non-GF pasta option was linguine, which would not have absorbed the sauce like my GF fusilli did. I thought this shouldn’t have been a surprise and I would have preferred this rectified W half the portion of fusilli GF pasta, or more sauce :) For dessert my husband had delicious home made Tiramasu. I had a shot of limoncello in a very attractive glass. Apart from my negatives about my GF pasta, all other food was so suberb and so authentically Italian. Loved the refreshingly different Italian wine list, we went for the Valpolicella Ripasso which we thought was fantastic. Decor is a bit tired, and the art on walls are an obscure choice of random pictures with no stylistic theme. The front door opens straight into the restaurant, shame there isn’t an internal buffering door, so quite a cold draught when the door opens on such a cold night. Despite these negatives of mine, We will def come back for the menu.

Six of us enjoyed a delicious meal, the cod was particularly good. The menu is not extensive but to me that’s a good sign. Service from the waitress was excellent.

Very disappointing. Eaten here many times in the past, but sadly never again. Very little of the menu was available (less than half), we were a party of 12 and our reservation had been booked some weeks in advance. What little there was to choose from was just okay, and defiantly not to a quality standard. For what we were served the price was extortionate. Some examples, four very small parcels of plain ravioli pasta, hardly any (or no) filling and no dressing. A joke. A fish dish that smelt so strong of fish it could not be eaten and when questioned a waiter, was told that was the last of the fish but it was fresh and they would "tell chef. No apology, and such a small dollop of panna cotta. that it literally made other guests at the table laugh! Considering our bill came to well over £800 you would expect better. This place used to be good. In my opinion it is not any more.

Brilliant authentic Italian. Seabass in Sambuca to die for and lasagne and salad as only Italians can cook it! Definitely worth a visit.

Didn’t plan to visit just fancied an Italian type meal after a mini pub crawl. Not cheap but you get what you pay for! Super service, very good food and nice ambiance (although toilet could be more ‘inviting’ - a member of our party, with expertise in this area, rated this at only 5.5 / 10

Outstanding!! Such a lovely restaurant! The food was just.... incredible! The Pasta was cooked to perfection. Partner had the Carbonara (which she absolutely loved) and I had the Swordfish and Aubergine, which was also fabulous. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive in any way. Checked that our meal was to our satisfaction, which it absolutely was. Now we get to the Desserts... I'm a BIG Cheesecake fan and it takes alot to impress me (Cheesecake wise) and I gotta say that I was definitely impressed! Mascapone and Wild Berry sauce, incredible!! Went to the restaurant today. No heating. The temperature was freezing. The vegetables were greasy and whilst my main meal was OK it was not as hot as it should have been. I have been to the restaurant a number of times but not sure I'll visit again. A big disappointment.

The food is really lovely but the portion size is not. I had the linguine marinara which was really tasty but the amount of linguine was questionable - I left hungry which, with a bill of £70 for two people, shouldn’t happen. I go to Italy two or three times a year and have never been left hungry. I think the dish should be advertised as a prima piatto rather than a main meal. That way I would have known to order a main plate. Very disappointed. If I went again I would offer to pay a bit extra to have a decent main course.
