Just nipped in for a quick lunch soon bumped into the chef who was from Iran but been into Italian food all his life. This is a delight and a serious contender for lunch. Very authentic and comes highly recommended

What a lovely place, found it online when looking for somewhere to eat on our day out in Lincoln. Doesn't look much from the outside, but the staff are friendly, lovely atmosphere and most importantly the food was beautiful and fresh. Lovely little outside space too, altho as its winter we sat inside which is charming. Would recommend and would definitely go again

We had a night in Lincoln with friends for my wife's birthday and I did some research in where to eat. The ratings this venue gets made me look and decide to book, we weren't dissapointed. They are only licensed until 7pm so the bill was kept well down by bring your own wine for a small corkage fee. The welcome, service and food were excellent and I would not hesitate to return o recommend.

Amazing restaurant we booked last minute we were visiting Lincoln as we were on the way to Mablethorpe but the floods halted us overnight it wasn't our first time here but the food and service is absolutely top drawer.

The food and service was excellent. Really lovely hosts. Just a bit noisy due to a large party. Everything freshly made.

Very salty, over seasoned, lasagne doesn't have white sauce, just tomato sauce. Mainly pasta dish, not having variety. Just vanilla ice cream and cake are delicious. coffee not impressed. Very disappointing.

Found this small cafe by chance one lunch time, was so impressed with the quality of the food and service, returned the next week in the evening dont under estimate it as a cafe/bistro it is up there with the best Italian restaurants i have visited

Tiny restaurant down a side street in Lincoln. Beautiful food, quick service, polite staff. Excellent

From the outside, it looks like another tacky eatery in a street lined with tacky takeaways. Walk through the door and pleasantly surprised. A little deli counter, a back room then a garden. The garden overlooks a derelict abandoned overgrown garden. Not a problem, I am used to this in Athens. What is the problem, and I don’t see in Athens, tenants throwing rubbish out of their windows into the garden. It is ideal breeding ground for rats. The local environmental health should investigate, and if needed carry out enforcement action. To sit outside or not? Maybe too cool when the sun went in, and too hot if it came out as no shade. I decided to sit inside, near the back door. A red rose on the table is a neat touch. I was the only diner. Oh but we were busier earlier. Strange how I am always told, if you’d have been here when you weren’t here, we were busy. The menu was singurly uninspiring. Why panini’s? Everywhere does paninis. I have never understood why. Or pasta. The choice penne (which I don’t like), or spaghetti (which I dislike slightly less) I chose spaghetti Bolognese. It arrived seemingly quick. I was asked when I placed my order, did I wish for Parmesan cheese? It was added in the kitchen. Usually brought to and added at the table. Spaghetti Bolognese is not an Italian dish. It was an artificial dish with elements of North and South. The spaghetti mediocre at best, the Bolognese sauce excellent. I was going to leave but decided to stay. I chose tiriamasiu for dessert. Coffee, Illy, no thanks. For coffee walk to Madame Waffle or Coffee Aroma. I visited a couple of weeks ago, the previous week I found closed.

Lovely restaurant and a beautiful courtyard in the sun. Delicious food. No children's menu but they are happy to serve half adult meals which gives them a fantastic choice. Staff attentive and spoke to the children.

Lovely warm welcoming atmosphere Coffee is the best

This is a relaxing intimate Italian, just two minutes walk from the bottom of Steep Hill. We would recommend booking as there are not a lot of tables and it is very popular. The service was excellent throughout and you can take your own wine and just pay a £5 corkage , which we did. We had the mixed Anti Pasti to start which was superb with different meats, cheese , bread, olives and the most delicious picked onions. £12.50 We then shared the Carbonara and Arrabiata Pasta's which were both delicious and under £10. the desserts were superb , especially the Tiramisu and great coffee meant our bill came to a very good £54.60 Cant wait to come back again !

Hidden treasure. Reassuringly small menu and consistently great authentic Italian food. Can't recommend enough.

The place looks like a takeaway on the outside and in the past we have walked past because of this but then noticed it said "seating on the outside available" so decided to try after shopping one early evening. Big mistake on our part for not trying before. Excellent staff and excellent home cooked food. Incredible tiramisu. They made a slight change to food content and even produced something that Costa finds incapable of producing, a large flat white! Only complaint, I wish my portions had been larger and my partner would not share hers. Definitely be eating there again.

This little place is ace! My favorite Italian in Lincoln. Food is not pretentious in any way. Just amazing simple home cooked Italian dishes which are full of flavor and authentic as well as an awesome deli. You guys smash it every time!

We stopped here for lunch on the recommendation of my daughter. The staff, and owner, were very friendly and welcoming. They have a wide variety of Italian dishes, all looking very tasty. I chose the spinach & ricotta tortellini which was very rich and creamy. For dessert I had one of the best Tiramisu I have ever tasted. I really homely and traditional Italian. It is quite small so get there early, it is well worth it.

Booked here via email (phone didn’t seem to work) because of the reviews and it was great. It’s small, bistro like with a very friendly atmosphere. Brought 2 bottles of own wine. 3 out of 4 drinking so charged corkage (£7.50 total) for 3. This was fantastic value. The food was excellent and very filling - could not manage a dessert. There is also outside seating which would be good as long as it doesn’t rain. Would definitely return if in Lincoln again.

There were 8 of us. I had the lasagne and it was delicious. We took our own wine which was great - we could take exactly what we like to drink. Brilliant service.

Went with my Italian girlfriend for the first time and we both had a lovely time and the food was delicious. Both starter and main were well presented and the portions were more than you would expect. The food was very tasty and you could tell it was homemade. The ambience was very relaxed and had a rustic feel to it, which added overall to a fantastic evening. Highly recommend.

Food was delicious. Ordered 2 pasta dishes cooked to perfection, garlic bread, followed by tiramisu and an affogato. Great prices too. 10/10.

Found this place by searching on Google and what a find it was. The food was sublime, service exceptional. Without a shadow of a doubt the best meal I have had in Lincoln in the 8 years I have been visiting. The tiramasu was delicious.

It looks very basic from the outside during the day but don’t let that put you off if you want an evening meal because we went Saturday night and it had a lovely rustic atmosphere. The food was fantastic and the owners were so nice but not overpowering. We took our own drinks because they aren’t licensed for the evening but that was no problem. Can’t wait to go back when I am next in Lincoln. I reckon it must be a great place to grab lunch too!

A small, authentic Italian restaurant. Almost full at lunchtime and deservedly so. We had excellent pasta dishes freshly cooked and served quickly. Very good value with wine at a sensible price. Super friendly owners.

What a great restaurant, small but cosy with a great ambience.. The food was fantastic, I had a seafood spaghetti dish as a main and my partner had a Gnocchi with goats cheese.. We also had 3 starters, and 4 alcoholic drinks, altogether £70.. (Fantastic value in my opinion). Good clean place and the staff are super friendly and very helpful.

We had a table booked for yesterday evening but had to change our plans and had the takeaway option instead. The food was delicious, fresh and very generous portions, we ordered what we would have had if we had been able to sit in and dine. Bruschetta and garlic mushrooms, mains lasagna, penne primavera ans lobster ravioli, and then a selection of deserts to share, all delicious , chocolate fudge cake, tiramisu and torte del Nona . It was a great way to still enjoy the home made delicious food that La Bottega are famous for - thank you to La Bottega , Sue x

The most amazing authentic Italian food. Very cosy and friendly. My favourite place for a treat.

We enjoyed a tasty starter of garlic bread and homemade olive tapenade & bread, followed by Spaghetti with Chilli and Penne Contradina, a fresh and flavoursome blend of grilled peppers, courgette and aubergine in a rich tomato and basil sauce. As usual we were very pleased to have the opportunity to bring our own vegan friendly wine. It is difficult to believe that anyone could complain about the corkage charge, which is clearly stated on the website, a very reasonable £2.50 per head. Very few other restaurants in Lincoln have this bring your own wine or beer option which means that customers at this eatery can enjoy a great quality, more affordable meal in the evening. Friendly and attentive service from Sarah and Beth and a warm, welcoming atmosphere provided the remaining ingredients for a lovely dining experience in this cosy cafe.

Really like this place for a meal out on an evening with friends. Bring your own drinks of choice and relax. Not many tables, good food, excellent service. Why 4 stars... because of the small(ish) menu choice. I actually prefer this because it stops me umming and arring. Otherwise top marks all round! Don't go everyone cos that means we've more chance of getting in when we want.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant. After struggling to book a last minute meal for 2 on a Saturday night we managed to book here for 7.30pm and although the place is small, the food, the staff and the atmosphere were all amazing. The fact you can take your own bottle and just pay corkage is a bonus. I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try.

Came to celebrate my mums birthday - found this little place simply on reviews and it was well worth the trip from Northampton. The food was incredible - authentic and as the lasagna said made with love! The service was second to non - especially with two rather excited children- nothing was too much trouble - made to feel welcome - lovely warm atmosphere, also to add in the coffee was lovely too! My parents will be sure to return and we will when we next visit Lincoln!

What a wonderful Italian restaurant. Only 15 covers inside (seating is available outside) so get there early. The food is wonderful (the smell as you enter is sublime). Look for the specials board. All the food is freshly prepared and I would go back again. Found it by chance, wow I was lucky.

Amazing lunch today (lobster ravioli and spaghetti carbonara). Far, far better than any chain Italian and worth the short stroll away from the high street and main shopping areas. Also excellent value for money. We will definitely be back again soon.

First time here, what a great place. Best puttanesca sauce I've ever eaten. 2 starters, 2 mains and 3 drinks for £35 is unbelievable value and outstanding quality too.

The Food is excellent you can taste the individual flavours in the meals, I am not a pudding person but could not resist the pear and ricotta cheese cake with a double espresso.
