I absolutely love Mexican food. Have visited here many times and it’s consistently amazing In every way.

Always enjoy a dinner here. Food us delicious and top quality as always and staff are very friendly. We were a group of 8 including a 2 year old whom they where kind enough to bring a small cup of icecream for free of charge just because. Great cocktails and reasonably priced beer. Whether for a date night or family so we have only had good experiences at La Baronia

Good food, better ambience and best company.

It is a nice place to eat, but in a semi-sketchy location...college town. Parking was tough to find. Over all, the burrito, though I initially felt it was over priced, had amazing taste and filled me up. I liked the flavor combination they brought to it. The atmosphere was family centered and felt festive and warm. It wasn't what we are used to in the states, concerning Mexican, but I would recommend it for sure.

Dined in on a quiet Thursday evening, our booking was originally for Tuesday but we wanted to move it and it was super easy to do so online. The male waiter that served us was super friendly and helpful. The place was nicely decorated and had Latin music playing the whole time. I tried their own pilsner called “Lalo Mejor” it was really nice. For food we shared the Spiced ribs that came with thick cut chips and a side of rice, the ribs were super tasty and had a generous amount of meat on them, the chips were perfectly cooked and fluffy and went so well with this tangy ketchup sauce on the side, the rice was nice and light and complimented the meal perfectly. Will come here again sometime in the future for sure.

Such a great meal, tasty and generous portions. Have already recommended to friends. Parking is on the adjacent residential streets and it can take driving down a few to find a space.

one of my favorite places to go to for food, really really good, only con is it's a little expensive for a relatively small portion - about £20pp for a not very filling meal, but definitely the best in Southampton for mexican food in terms of taste, very good and quiet atmosphere too

Wow, wow, wow! Came here for an anniversary dinner with my partner and I can happily say that the experience went well above my high expectations. Amazing cocktails (they make a fantastic mojito in particular), a delightful and welcoming atmosphere and most importantly, incredible, scrumptious food. Every item we ordered simply had to be shared, every bite was savoured and we left very happy and full. Very reasonable in terms of spice levels and absolutely bursting with flavour. The restaurant itself is stunning, inside and out, featuring artwork painted by a local artist and, despite being rushed of his feet, our host was warm and polite throughout. We didn't have to wait long to order but he welcomed us and acknowledged us several times during that time anyway. The prices are modest and reasonable, £15-£20 for a generously sized main course and 100% worth the price, if not more. Thankyou so much for a fabulous dining experience and we greatly look forward to our next visit!

I used to go to La Baronia very frequently when I lived in Southampton and recently I came back to celebrate my birthday with my family. We had a wonderful evening. The food was simply delicious and the service was great at all times. The staff decorated the table for the special occasion and were extremely attentive. Would 100% recommend as it’s one of the best restaurants in the city!

Not many choices if you don't eat spicy (as in hot ), apart from the meat. I remember eating there, sometime ago, and I could choose enchilada without being spicy. Apparently they changed management and the sauce is now already made, so I could not have one. I was a bit disappointed. Also there's no more live music at the weekend, as it used to be. I hope soon they'll have the music back.

We always have a lovely time at La Baronia. The food is delicious, and always presented nicely. We like the atmosphere in there - very homely. The customer service is always friendly too. We hope to visit again soon, when we're next in the area.

Was down south at the weekend on business and popped in for dinner (as I usually do). The staff looked after me so well and chatted to me when they could as I was on my own. So friendly. Had the chilli beef burrito - huge & magnificent! Was going to post a picture but I was far too busy demolishing it. Very tasty. See you next time I’m down. 👏👏

This place is a true gem, I went on Saturday night with my husband. The food was amazing (be warned, they do not do small portions!!). I had chicken fajitas and husband had a beef brisket enchilada, food was amazing. The 2 men and the girl at front of house were really friendly and helpful. They were there but not in your face. I recommend the secret recipe sangria, could get very drunk very easily. This is a must go to restaurant if you like Mexican food. We will be back very soon.

Cold food, tasteless, cold restaurant, not great service and no atmosphere, unlike previous visits. Shame as restaurant uset to be packed, with great fresh hot food and great atmosphere, will not be returning anytime soon.

Luke, Manager, was excellent from the minute I arrived (accidentally an hour early for my reservation), through waiting for my guest and then the following 3.5 hours we spent there. Always attentive but not overbearing. Perfect host. Food (Burritos) was excellent. Was my first visit and will definitely go again. Had a half hour spare and Google Mapped it to see if I could squeeze in another quick visit before my evening out but not enough time get there en route and still be on time to my friends' place. Will go soon...

This is a diamond hiding in plain sight! A perfect cozy and comfortable restaurant. Food is just right with lots of flavour and variety. Staff are welcoming and friendly with right right amount of interaction and interest. I've eaten here a few times now and have not been disappointed. Outdoor, covered eating space or roomy warm interior. Many drink options to choose from ales, cocktails, spirits and wine. For a privately owned and run local restaurant this is somewhere I would always recommend and when possible (as not local) eat at.

Been here a few times, really cosy little place, great tacos, delicious margaritas and 10/10 atmosphere. Went for food on a Saturday night, stupidly didn’t book and they had no tables- but we weren’t turned away, they sat us at the bar and service was still excellent. (Will def book next time)

Table of 9 so had to pre-order. I opted for a spicy chicken burrito, it was ok, nothing exciting. Service was ok. Don’t think id be rushing back.

Sunday lunchtime, so very quiet, but good tasty food and good service.

Wonderful night out, good choice of gluten free and vegetarian food too, everyone was happy.

First problem was the very long delay in getting our mains. Second was the portion sizes of the fahitas - we were served tiny little bowls of cheese and salsa, supposedly adequate for 4 tortillas. No salad. No guacamole. When we asked for quacamole, the request was ignored. The advertised 'King sized' prawns turned out to be miniscule prawns. Finally, the cocktails were disapppointnig too. On the positive side , the nachos were great, the enchilladas were fine and the floor staff polite and hard working. Our complaints were listened to and 10% taken off the bill, so well done for that. The problems seemed to come from the kitchen.

I booked this for our 34th wedding anniversary and it did not let us down. The food was great and the attentiveness of the staff was spot on, with the price being value for money. Atmosphere was just how we wanted it because I can only imagine this place being packed on a weekend.

The service was very prompt and attentive. It seemed there was only 3 people covering the whole place which is very good going! The food was decent and the portion sizes were spot on. Would highly recommended, good for couples and large groups.

Visited here for Dinner, Food was very good and an updated menu with more choice. The food did take some time to arrive and the venue was not that busy. Prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are good.

Superb meal, we had nachos to start and the two different enchiladas for main, brisket beef and sweet potato one. We have been coming here for years, but this time the enchiladas were better than ever, had a great chat with manager after who explained they now cook it so much longer, and you can tell. Was always great, is now superb....go and try it.

Lovely experience every time I have been here. Absolutely gorgeous, cheesey, spicey, veggie and meaty Mexican food, delicious cocktails (best pina colada I've ever had) and fantastic service. The staff are lovely and really accommodating, they arranged a table for us to sit outside even though it was very busy. Can't rate it enough, favourite place in Southampton and really reasonable prices. That Elote is unrivalled!!

We came to La Baronia in the afternoon and it was completely empty other than staff. We got seated and had good service as the employees happily answered any questions we had. The menu had some great vegetarian options for each type of food they served. The decorations are also very cool! The food didn’t take too short or long of a time to come to our table and once we got the food, it tasted fresh and very good. It may not be authentic but it was nice and we were satisfied. The only things that could’ve made the experience better would be having more places for parking, making sure the steak is cooked the way it was asked for and adding more variety to the menu. Also, lowering the prices or offering some complimentary tortilla chips would be a nice change as although the food was nice, most of the food was definitely not worth the price. 4.3/5

Visited for the first time - the restaurant is beautiful, the cocktails are so tasty and the FOOD is excellent! I had the pulled beef enchilada, a margarita and a mojito and they were all 10/10! Friendly staff and amazing food and drink. Recommending to all of my friends! Also great Latin playlist with Bad Bunny etc - would love to come again with my girls for drinks.

I have previously been to La Baronia three times before and was always really impressed with the Burrito. On this visit the Burrito was very run of the mill, nowhere near as big as it used to be and the taste was very average. My friend had the chorizo burger which was bland and small. Side of chips was 3.90 and there were about 9 chips in the portion. Service was slow, not enough waiters. Three of us had our meal come out and my friend had to wait for theirs for another 5 minutes we had to start without him as the food would go cold. As the burger came out we asked for mayo and had to wait for at least another 5 minutes to come by that time the 9 chips were gone ... very disjointed meal, the restaurant isn't what it used to be, I wont be back again.

A great evening with friends, with the 4 of them dining at la Baronia for the first time. The staff looked after us brilliantly.

Second visit under the new Management and first visit with the new menu. Brilliant meal tonight. We had an issue with one dish and this was dealt with instantly and this is why we keep coming back to this place. They look after you. The food is superb and great atmosphere. Will be back soon .... Can not fault.

We had our Anniversary meal here today and it was lovely! The staff were more than friendly and the food was very tasty and well cooked. We had some pina colada’s too they were super creamy (yum!) I also liked the fact the staff were very accommodating towards my son and made him feel very welcome. It was his first time trying a Mexican place. They done a good range of gluten free dishes and can cater for other allergies. We will definitely visit again.

Had a lovely 2 course meal here. Server was very friendly and accommodating. There were 3 of us, myself, my fiancée and her 7 year old son. All had different meals and all great and well served. Starters were quesadilla, carnitas and Nachos. All cooked to perfection. Main courses were mole rojas, prawn fajitas, that wasn't on the menu as gluten free but they made it for us, which we appreciated. And the children's main was chicken tacos. No complaints from any of us as we all enjoyed them. Washed down with well made pina coladas. Except for the apple juice for the child lol. Would certainly recommend for a great Mexican meal in Southampton, and I'm sure we will go back again!

We've been going to Baronia pretty much since it opened many moons ago. Recently there's been a change of management and I have to say its got even better as a venue. The drinks are as good as always thanks to knowledgeable bar staff (one of which we remember from before the change), but the food is even better. I would highly recommend this day and night. Big enough for a party/function but small enough for a more personal visit. Always nice to be remembered too! Top marks. Steve and Vicky

Visited here for the first time for Lunch and had the Nachos and Chicken Fajitas, all were very nice with good flavour. The venue was quiet, parking is a problem though as its in a residential area and spaces are difficult to find

Nicely decorated building and can imagine getting lively at busy times. Staff excellent, bar, beers and drinks all at acceptable prices, but we found the main meal too small and sadly cannot say that side of it was value for money.

We called in for a quick meal before driving home. We both selected steak fajitas which were absolutely delicious. The service was attentive but not intrusive and friendly. Will definitely eat here again.

Food was excellent, speedy service during the current climate and very attentive. Slightly annoyed by not being able to order dessert due to kitchen closing early. Prior notice would of been great, however still enjoyed the experience. Will definitely come back again.

One of my favourite restaurants in Southampton. Small, intimate, very nice service and very tasty food. We have tried probably all the items from the menu and there wasn't a dish we didn't like. Perfect place for a quiet dinner with my wife.

Food is reasonable, very filling but not cheap. Car parking in the immediate area at a premium.

Tasty food and nice staff. Nice atmosphere inside. My five stars are mainly for the cocktails tho, so yummy, can taste the alcohol in them as well as a very very reasonable price! Parking can be a little tricky but you can always find somewhere on a side street. Recommend this place to everyone!!
