Good and service was great!! Highly recommend, but the lights was abit too dark to see. Other than that everything was really good!

This is the best tapas in the UK.. We love the canaries and the food here is just like the real thing.... My favourite restaurant bar none... Food still amazing and great place BUT whilst clearing another table dropped greasy food all down my expensive coat and just pulled a face like it did not matter so 1 star for service

A great find in Manchester. There were 5 of us. The food was delicious. They are typical Spanish dishes well prepared. Very good value for money. The staff is very pleasant and attentive. It is true that we were practically the only table but we ordered the 3 tapas menu and we all left satisfied. I wish we had discovered it sooner, because it was difficult for us to find places like this to eat well. I don't understand the negative reviews, because we thought it should have a much higher score.

Excellent place to not miss Spanish cuisine. Good preparation of the dishes, attentive and friendly staff and reasonable prices for being in Manchester. Recommendable.

Went here for Mother’s Day and it did not disappoint. We ordered the bread with alioli for starter which was super yummy. Then 10 tapas to share between 4 of us which was more than enough we were all very full by the end. The bill only came up to £104 (including service) which was so reasonable for 4 people in central Manchester for Tapas, which can usually be very pricey. The service was very fast and made sure they got the order correct. They also gave us complimentary shots at the end which was lovely. All the dishes were good portion sizes and all had such great flavour. My favourite was the slow cooked pig cheek as it just melted in your mouth. I will definitely be returning and hopefully try the paella next time after reading good reviews about it.

Delicious food, nice environment and very friendly service! We had an amazing time here, will definitely come back! I specially recommend the Paella de la Granja and Chorizo al vino.

We attended a wine tasting of Spanish wines. 2 Sherry, 2 white and 2 red. Really enjoyed all the wines and they were all accompanied by beautiful small plates. Would highly recommend

One of the best tapas restaurants around. I chose my birthday meal to be at La Bandera and I wasn't disappointed. We chose 4 tapas each which was more than enough. All the dishes we chose were good size and delicious. We had octopus, squid, pig's cheek, steak, papas arrugavas, padron peppers, mixed salad and a baked aubergine dish. Everything was cooked perfectly and we truly enjoyed it. My husband said that was one of the best steaks he ever had. We also shared a piece of banana cheesecake which was very nice too. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were only two negatives for us. Firstly, it was too dark in the restaurant. My husband couldn't read the menu even with his glasses on. And the other negative was the table being too small. Unfortunately, that's something lot's of restaurants do to be able to accommodate more people in a small space. It's not too bad in a normal restaurant because you only have a couple of plates on your table. But in a tapas restaurant where you have to order a few dishes it was a bit of a struggle to fit all the plates and glasses on the table. All in all I enjoyed my birthday meal at La Bandera and we will definitely visit again when in Manchester.

Black Paella is a MUST TRY. Been having for several years and quality unchanged. Always made you feel like to go again and again. After visiting La Bandera, you will ignite your forever hungry for Black Paella !

Being a southerner this was an amazing experience. From start to finish

Had bottomless brunch with a few friends and we all loved it, not the cheapest around at £42 but worth every penny and more as we had the choice of Sangria, Beer, Wine, Cava and Cocktails which were great and we had plenty In our 90 mins, the Tapas was fantastic and filling with good quality food, service was very attentive so will definitely be returning.

I enjoyed the fried cod fillets, patatas bravas, chicken wings and the octopus. The octopus was decent size, tasted fresh and not chewy. The patatas bravas was crispy on the outside and soft on the side, accompanied by the popular sauces they come with. The fried fillet was crispy and fresh to the bite. The sangria was refreshing, was quite light though. The atmosphere was a little dark for my preference, I prefer it a little lighter so I can see the menu. The prawns were a little disappointing, they were tiny and the flavour was just not right. Usually I’m a fan of prawns, but would not order that again. It’s also a shame they didn’t have the pigs cheek and knuckle. I would have loved to try them.

The seafood paella is my favorite. This is probably the restaurant I visit the most often in Manchester.

Been to La Bandera a couple of times, both been great with tasty food and nice drinks. Love the bravas and chorizo, but lots of great choices on the menu.

The service is very bad. The waitress kicked my chair for 3 times. The food is not that good compare to the price. I would not recommend this restaurant.

This is my third time here and I always enjoyed the food at La Bandera. Unfortunately tonight when I called the restaurant the male person answered the phone and said there is no tables at all tonight and that they are fully booked. I have looked online and booked table half an hour later. The restaurant had a lot of empty tables. The food tasted good, I have tried better tapa/Spanish restaurants. The portion for the special almond cake was also quite disappointing as you can see from the photo, portion was very small.

Had a lovely night with the taster menu with my partner. Great explanation of food and wine, fairly priced. Was a little bit chilly, may have had problems with heating but didn't ask.

Seafood paella leaves much to be desired. Overpriced.

They were able to seat us without a prior reservation. Try the paella with octopus ink..I only had to travel to Manchester to taste the best paella in my life so far.

DO NOT GET THE SET MENU. We picked the £45 set menu and we were lucky to get one of the items from each dish with some dishes giving us 8 sausages for 12 of us. Not sure why a single meatball would be counted as a full dish (works out at about £5). The food itself was high quality though and I would definitely just order individually in future. Took a while to get drinks and food ordered too.

We've had the most delicious tapas meal, amazing flavours, and the best authentic food here. We are not local to Manchester, but found La Bandera through reviews and we're so glad we came here. Izca and Andrea are excellent servers, always smiling and helpful, Izca have great advice on number of tapas dishes to get. We had bread, and then 6 dishes between 2 of us fyi, which was very filling! Would 100% recommend and we'll be back whenever we're back in Manchester!

Came here with my boyfriend during our trip to Manchester - after 4 days away and many dining experiences, this was BY FAR the best. Delicious food, beautiful presentation, high quality ingredients, lovely staff and a great wine menu - what more can you ask for! Would 100% recommend and hope to return. Cheese board, Pan con tomate and Gambas Al Ajillo are particularly delicious. Thank you!

Went for a meal last night, very cold evening, food was, as always delicious , service good but it was colder inside the restaurant than it was outside ! Meal was spoiled by having to dine with coat and scarf on ! Didn’t feel as if we could sit and relax and enjoy our meal, just wanted to finish our food and go somewhere warm, such a shame as we have visited often

We booked a table that morning, and came for a tapas tea before going to to see Fre Your Mind. The food was excellent - some mainland, and some canarian tapas. Came out when ready. Good portion size for tapas. All very very tasty. Food didn't last long enough to take photos. We stayed for spanish desserts too. Would happily go back and eat there again. And the servers were excellent, friendly, and prompt too.

We went last minute for lunch and we were not disappointed in the slightest, amazing food great service and buzzing vibes.

A hidden gem in the heart of Manchester. We popped into La Bandera for a midweek treat. Their express lunch is very affordable at £15/person for 3 tapas and a drink. And the food was delicious! Some of the best tapas we’ve had. All of the staff were so friendly too - really welcoming, had a laugh and professional too. The croquettes are a must try for any visitor.

Came for tapas with family before heading to the arena for a concert. Fantastic service and fabulous food. We were early but they happily accommodated us and nothing was to much effort. This wasn't our first visit and will not be our last. Highly recommend.

Went here with the family for Tapas during a weekend break to Manchester. All the food was delicious - I couldn't fault a single thing. The staff were friendly and welcoming and were very knowledgeable and able to offer advice on what to order if you were unsure. The kids really enjoyed it. It was my daughters first tapas experience and she said she'd definitely want to do it again. High praise from a 12 year old!! The only (minor) niggle. Like a lot of places, they add a (discretionary!?) 10% service charge onto the bill. Which kind of feels like you are being forced to tip. Now, don't get me wrong, I would have tipped anyway because it was delicious but to be obliged to kind of irritates me. I wish restaurants wouldn't do this.

Came for bottomless brunch yesterday. The food was brilliant, the service was quite good but the drinks were awful! The 'spritz' were all flat and one tasted so bad we had to send it back. The sangria didnt taste like wine at all. Not worth £42 at all.

Food was good quality, but tapas portion tad small. No air con on a hot day didn't help, and think the staff struggled a bit in the heat. Worth going in the evening as atmosand ambience will be better

Tapas was so stunningly gorgeous here and we highly recommend. House white/rosè wine was reasonable and delicious, served in a big lovely cold wine glass. Whilst the nine dishes that we picked were just incredible! So flavoursome. They were rather large too in comparison to other tapas dishes we have order in the past from other restaurants, these were super filling and satisfying. Our evening was made even better by the fabulous, charming waiters / waitress that were so lovely and smiley throughout. We will be back. Thank you!

La Bandara is fabulous restaurant, a must for great food and service. Dress up, dress down it’s a must when visiting Manchester.

It's a real shame as we were so looking forward to it. The experience was really rushed. We hadn't even finished our bread to start when within 3 minutes the food started coming out, so it made us question the freshness of the produce. We were literally done and finished within 30 minutes which was a real shame as we were out celebrating a birthday and wanted a nice relaxing meal. We did explain our frustrations to the manager who kindly brought over a complimentary drink and added a discount to the bill to make up for it.

Nice food but it doesn't justify the price tags. The boss lady at the reception is not friendly.

I had an amazing time at La Bandera, a charming Spanish restaurant in the heart of the city. The service was top-notch, with friendly staff who recommended the tender pork cheeks that were bursting with flavor. Always loved this place. A haven and one of the few places you can still drop into amidst the crazy dress codes and booking rules of Manchester. A truly Spanish restaurant with fabulous service & food. Always a warm welcome!

It's a nice place and the staff are nice. The food is good but it's not the best tapas Manchester has. No complaints at all, and the food was good, I just know better spots.

What a lovely find. Authentic tapas cooked in a family-owned restaurant, in the city centre but tucked away. Based on Canarian cuisine. The staff were charming and really happy we were enjoying the food. We had a mixture of small plates; chicken croquetas, ‘wrinkled potatoes’ served with delicious Mojo Rojo and Mojo Verde sauces, Gambas Volcán (stand out flavours), sardines and albondigas. Everything was delicious. Glasses of Albariño and white Rioja washed it all down nicely. A coffee and pistachio ice cream rounded the meal off. Definitely be back.

Great atmosphere and lovely attentive staff. Still holds up as one of the best tapas spots in Manchester, despite heavy competition these days! The prawns are incredible and the star of the show, you won't taste anything like them anywhere else. A must visit restaurant if you're ever in Manchester. The tasting menu is very well priced considering the quality of the food, although prices have risen recently. The restaurant is pretty small and intimate so be sure to book ahead of time. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough!

Having a sharing paella and jug of red sangria we were disappointed with both. The paella was stuck to the bottom of the pan and the sangria was like a summer fruit barley squash. We complained and were told that it was the owner's receipe and if we wanted more wine in the jug we would have to pay extra. The jug cost £22 and to pay more for what should have been a main ingredient was an insult. Angel our server was so apologetic and agreed with us. He changed the sangria and a new jug was brought to the table which was Ruby red and what we should have had in the first instance. It was a real disappointment and if the owner's receipe was followed, I would suggest that he remove it from the drinks menu!

Friendly welcoming staff. Food nice enough for a typical tapas. Not really comfortable to be sat next to a big mirror when you're eating. Felt a little cramped in the corner too.

Great service great food only issue is that the table of us that ordered all the food came out at different times so some people were eating and others weren't, would be great if all the food came out together that's my only criticism I have.

Lovely welcoming, warm and peofessional. Tapas style serving and ordering. As expected. Food was delicious, the Carrilleras de cerdo was honestly impeccable. The Patatas Bravas (a staple of Tapas cuisine), was amazing, but the sauces paired were a highlight. You don't often get sauces to enhance the bravas at restaurants in Manchester. The pricing was more than fair, and the paella is a must get, even if you have a few Tapas on the side. The only downside was the Lubina al Mojo Verde (Seabass), was overcooked and dry and cold. Not sure what happened here, assumed it was just left too long to cook, then too long to make it's way from the kitchen to table. However, when pointed out to waitress (Angel), it was rectified and comped as it was just an honest mistake. The friendless of all the staff plus the quirky decor (yellow seating etc) in makes this a gem within Manchester. I definitely recommend and will be back again!

The quality of the food was good but I was not blown away. I have had better tapas at a couple of other places in Manchester. The menu was only online, which I personally don't like as it takes away from the experience of looking over the menu. I felt I was being a little rushed ordering and most of the dishes we ordered all came very quickly, and I felt the table space was a bit too small. The table service and the staff were very efficient, maybe too efficient. I picked up the last piece of bread and even before I could dip they were taking away the basket and dip away! The decor and general upkeep in the place were a little worn, and I felt like some things needed a bit of TLC and maybe some items replaced. They automatically added a 10% service charge as well (when there were only 2 of us) which I think is plain rude as well. It would have been good for a quick bite to eat before a theatre show but not for a relaxed meal with your significant other.

We had the tasting menu and wine flight. Great food, well matched and excellent service. Good value.

Great food and a great atmosphere

Booked a birthday bottomless brunch, and we had high hopes due to the price of £42 per head. In 90 minutes we only had 5 drinks, all of which we had to ask for the staff to come to serve us each time, we were never offered a jug of sangria as 6 of the 8 of us were drinking this, but saw this offered to other tables as we had finished our table. The food was nice, but the portions were smaller then we expected - even for tapas. For us all, it was expensive compared to others on the market.

Wonderful polite staff but I hate going out to dine and not been given a PROPER menu. We requested that we did not want the tapas all in one go sadly this didn't happen,this is not the way to eat tapas and resulted in been over faced and food going cold such a shame as the food was delicious. So sorry but we will not returning 🤷

Great restaurant. Ordered the meatballs as missed my Mum's version, and the sauce was just perfect. The pork knuckle was so tasty. Good croqueta too!

Absolutely amazing food and the staff make it even better(and that’s a difficult one as the food is that good) my fiancé and I had the taster menu and oh my wow!! So so worth it! My partner and I made a snap decision to get dinner here and we were glad we did. The food was superb and well presented, the drinks very good, and the service friendly and professional. Top marks.
