Loved it. Friendly and very tasty food.

Very good food but there is a long wait, which is understandable because it's soo popular.

I went to Kimbo,s takeaway ordered king prawn chow mien. Half was cooked other half cold not cooked enough. Hopefully prawn cooked properly or more to be said .very disappointed 😞

Service was ok , the food was cold, not to the standard that it used to be . Not convinced the Singapore noodles were what we ordered, they didn't look right or taste right. Not our best from them .

It is always the best Chinese Takaway in Lake despite the disappointing Hygiene rating. We have tried a neighbouring Chinese Takeaway but keep returning to this one.

Shocked at two things recently!..the price has gone up so much it's now costing approximately around £40 now for my partner and me in what used to be so much cheaper not so long ago.This is more than just a few pence,it goes up every new menu it seems when they want.Outpriced themselves now for us at least.Now a 1 star hygiene review..disgusting!!.Funny how these places never cared before but all say the same thing that they've made improvements AFTER they've been caught..I won't be returning to a place that treats their customers like peasants and over charging their loyal customers..

The best Chinese food on the island. Worth driving to as they don't deliver, but you will not be disappointed.

Very nice on the phone when placing the order. Once I had received the order, phoned back to inform them that the order they had sent was incorrect, very apologetic on the phone and encouraging to tey anothet dish. Went to collect the replacement which we were charged for and was told that it's not their problem that I don't like the food. If the oder was correct I would have liked the food. Appauling service and i absolutely will not be returning.

Food was excellent and service was great. Mrs Lee was super sweet especially with the kids. She stole their hearts that my kids wanted to eat there every meal of our stay there.

£4 for a small bag of chips. That just about fed 1 person. My own takeaway back home that would have fed a whole family. Not using again too expensive

We used the reviews to try the food at Kimbo’s while on holiday in the IOW and although the portions are of a good size they are lacking meat with plenty of rice and noodles. The dishes were a little dry and would benefit from some extra flavours.

The dry ribs were AMAZING 😍🤩 just like she said they would be . Very nice food and my wife gives it 5 star to that's something 😂⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sorry no pictures

Used kimbos after reading Tons of reviews about local restaurants, The food variety was very good and the quality even better! All the staff were lovely! Hot, very tasty and I'm gutted I don't live near here otherwise I'd eat here all the time!

lovely food, decided to have a take away for my birthday, so pleased we did. Really easy to order, very pleasant person on the phone. Delivered really quickly, driver was very nice, Will definitely use them all the time.

Worst takeaway delivery ever. When ordered we were told that it would take an hour, arrived in 15 minutes and we are a 10 minute drive away. That would explain such an awful meal as obviously Iceland type food put in a microwave for 5 minutes. Never tasted a Chinese meal even close to how poor this was. Rang to speak to the manager before posting a negative review and he had absolutely no interest at all in our experience. Suffice to say we will never use this establishment again and only after receiving the food did we discover all the other poor reviews.

The food is lovely and is always hot when it gets to us. Delivery always arrives quick and staff have always been polite. Never had any issues and I will continue to order from here.

Been a customer for years but not any more!!! Waited over 2hours for my take away food and never turned up!!! I phoned them after an hour and a half and told me they are 1 driver short so I was OK with that and said he would be another half an hour.... half hour went by phoned them back all he said was sorry wel b 5 or 10mins still nothing !!!! Absolutely dicusting!!! Never again

Amazing quality food. Lots of flavour. Our go-to Chinese when on holiday for 20+ years. The owners are lovely, very friendly and more than happy to adapt the meals to suit the level of heat you want.

Picked up a meal and was very pleased with the extra kick in the chow mein. A nice, simple meal to have as a takeaway and nice and warm. Very quick to eat and wonderful service!

Staying in nearby Lake and bought a large takeaway meal for a family of five. The shop is clean and tidy inside and the service was prompt. Everything was well cooked and piping hot, we’ll all enjoyed the meal and everybody is 100% the next day. Would have been five stars but it wasn’t cheap, but may be that’s Island life? Definitely recommended thank you.

Sorry Kimbo, during our holiday we like to try a couple of local takeaways, and your was one. Two different meals but to be honest both meals were very bland. Although we are spoiled coming from the West Midlands have a wide variety of restaurants who have to be on top of their game to compete. Sorry but not the best.

Love this place, staff are great, owner is so, so lovely, and the food is tasty! Working down the menu to try as many dishes as I can, so far have yet to find one I don't like! Personally this is my favourite Chinese takeaway place!

Never expected takeaway food to have been this tasty…it’s not because we were hungry, we just fancied something simple and quick. This was a solution and exceeded our expectations. I did wonder when waiting the number of patrons that ordered and collected. It wasn’t just one or two items, it was a lot to feed a family! Great effort guys and keep it up.

Fantastic food...I can't fault this Chinese ...everything looks so colourful and tasty and delicious...keep up the ratings.

Banging food, guy on the phone taking my order was patient aswell. Really impressed, chow mein was great salt and chilli chicken was even better 10/10

Food was ok (just ok) but prices are ridiculous. Nearly £10 for 3 small pots of curry sauce. Cheapest supermarket chips £3.20. We paid £30 for two of us when the same order is less than £15 back home. Avoid.

Forgot my Satay Sauce and Duck Spring rolls ect. When phoned up they played gamed and DID NOT help. They stated they was sending more and that it would be ten minutes, Waited a hour and it did not show up. Phoned a second time and they was sarcastic and upped the previous arranged price trying to get more money. Not happy with the order.

My partner ordered last night over the phone and collected from shop.We spent £40 approx on three meals.On sitting down to eat my own I noticed a difference in the smell and initially thought they may have tweaked their recipe slightly,however,this was not to be and I discovered to my disgust that some portions of the meat( chicken?) were decidedly past their best.In short,they stank! I immediately stopped eating and asked the others how their food was,in turn, each expressed dismay on the quality of their dish and was deciding to curtail their evening repast in favour of continued reasonable health. So,the outcome was,three meals ,inedible through incorrect preparation/ingredient quality,or both, in the bin! We have eaten from them before quite a few times and I have to say this was the first time the food was 'suspect' so I decided to give them a ring and express my dissatisfaction. I was told that our food had been freshly prepared with quality ingredients,(of course they would,wouldn't they), and that under no circumstances when food has left the premises do they offer any form of redress in way of replacement or a refund.( I did ask as to how else was one supposed to inspect their meal until said meal had arrived at the desired location.(i.e. our table,)but was met with a slightly 'tumbleweed moment' of silence from the other end of the phone.) Unfortunately,during the night,my suspicions regarding my own particular menu selection were confirmed by numerous visits to the bathroom,( at this point I choose discretion and invite you,dear reader, to use your imagination.) In short, If you wish to live life 'on the edge' regarding your well being then by all means partake,If on the other hand,you decide to err on the side of caution one can only recommend that you seriously entertain the option of dining elsewhere.

Ordered Thai prawn curry, no spice and really sweet. Chilli, garlic chicken, jelly textured and really Salty! Ribs were really dry too! Ordered from them for years, but really disappointed!

We usually enjoy our deliveries from here, but tonight the delivery guy was beyond rude, he was downright offensive. Our dogs barked when he knocked the door, prompting him to tell my husband we should shut them away in another room. Then when I didn’t have the 80p change to complete the amount owed completely in cash without him giving me a bit of change in return (£7 worth) he stared at me tutted, huffed and muttered something rude under his breath… pretty rich coming from a business who no longer take card and only take cash on delivery. If you’re only taking cash then you best have the change to hand, or round all your dishes to the nearest pound so the change issue is avoided. It ruined it for me tonight, no need for it and a complete let down. Shoddy way to treat regular, local customers.

Thought I would give a go after being dissatisfied with Ko sing which I felt had gone downhill with food quality & service ordered my meal last night and was satisfied really enjoyed and will return this is not a review to favour anyone but my experience the choice is yours

Had a takeaway last night...Absolutely Discusting . We have been using ko sing for years but last night was the final time...... All the Battered food was wet and dripping in Oil curry's were watery and cold £50 in the Bin. When we phoned up we were greeted by a very rude individual who basically said "owell NOT his problem".. I will never use again And I would advise people to do the Same ..you will now be very disappointed

When we moved to Lake we were very pleased to find we had a very good Chinese takeaway close by. Everything we’ve had has been very good…… until last night. 11/1/22 I ordered King Prawns and Scallops with ginger and spring onions, the menu describes it as ‘savoury with a strong hint of ginger’. Maybe they should have said’ strong HIT of ginger’? There was at least 6 large chunks of ginger! Who can eat that much ginger? Also I completely forgot there was supposed to be scallops in it, until I found 4 tiny little discs of fishy white stuff hiding in the corner along with a lot of onion! For this I paid £7.70.

Fantastic food, from very friendly staff. Some of the best Chinese I've ever had, and have found a Chinese curry on the island that gets the wife's approval. Absolutely delicious.

Can't lie I was worried about trying somewhere different as we usually use our Chinese over the road as we know we like it and we're used to it. However we went out of our comfort zone as ours is closed till January and we'll it was absolutely amazing I literally can't fault you one bit. Absolutely everything we had was sensational so thankyou very much, we will be back alot. I wish you did delivery. Absolutely amazing though xxx

I have lived on the island for one year and have tried most of the Chinese take aways as am a big lover, this is my favourite best I have had, and the lovely funny lady who runs it with her husband has the best quality food now my local go to Chinese take away!!!

Just had the best Chinese takeaway from here.. food was absolutely fantastic, and service was top notch. The lady that owns the place with her husband, had us in the knots laughing. Will defo be back. 5 star plus all around

It’s always a bit dodgy ordering from a different takeaway. After being recommended to us we decided to chance it and order from kimbo’s. We were not disappointed, the food was lovely, portions were good and it took less time from ordering to getting food than it takes to get round the popular drive through in ryde. I would like to say that the guy behind the counter was an absolute delight! Possibly the happiest chap Iv ever met. Obviously enjoys his job. Extremely polite and clear. I would return just off the back of the customer service we received let alone the good food. Well done sir! I hope the owners recognise your worth! 👍

The best Chinese takeaway on the Isle of Wight. Mrs Lee does an excellent job in the restaurant and is extremely friendly and polite. The food tastes amazing and also the service is very fast. It is very well priced and also the portions are good sizes. It is good for group orders too as they do bundle deals. I recommend this restaurant for the best quality Chinese food on the Isle of Wight! Thank you.

The food was nice but a shame we didn’t get free prawn crackers. I thought Chinese restaurants gave them out when orders are over 30 pounds.

The food was ok some stuff was quite greasy and the prawn crackers tasted really dry and soft.

This place is not for me chicken is very chewy, sweet and sour sauce very thick we turned the pot upside down and nothing came out had to water it down with boiling water the chow mein is OK and the spare ribs

The quarter duck was amazing better than our local back home. You had to shred it yourself but it was nice and crispy yet the meat was tender. All of the food was freshly cooked and hot. Everything got eaten. Would recommend this place hands down.

Flew in to Sandown and walked here for dinner. The lady was so helpful and helped serve the food in something we could eat immediately rather than needing to take back to airfield. Food was good too. Next time I fly here I will be back but ask for a childrens portion as it is very generous for one person. Yep, would recommend.

Wow! What lovely Chinese food. First time ordering from this place as I was on holiday around the corner. Friendly server greeted me with a smile and took my order allowing me to customise some of my dishes due to the fact I'm a fussy git, this was not a problem. Sat in the car waiting for my food and the same guy brought it out when it was ready. Food was very good indeed and very tasty.

Working on the island and decided to try this takeaway. What wonderful service I received from the owner, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Spicy chips were very original and nice, and the sweet chilli chicken chow mein was top notch to. Will definitely come back in the future.

The food was cold even though it was collection. Everything tasted of vinegar! We ordered a kung po mix meat and hot and sour soup both tasted extremely bad and was not even edible. Singapore noodles were over done and mushy and had no taste at all. Only thing good was the prawn toast. Asked for a refund and they return my meal and said I had eaten the starter so... NO REFUND! £20 down and still hungry! Disappointed and will never go there again after being their customer for years

5 star food is my personal opinion working here on the railway go there after work each night always a lovely welcome from girls on reception and owners even though Covid is biting hard here l would recommend you go try for yourself 😊

Probably the worst chinese I've ever had, order was incorrect and not corrected. Food cold and flavourless, pancake roll i wouldn't feed to my dog. Will NEVER order again or recommend.

Have been using these for 6 years plus, order weekly BUT never again. The quality of food yesterday (Friday) was watery and tasteless. When we had waited for well over 1hour 40 mins this was disgusting. Phoned and complained only to to be told “if you don’t like it don’t call again” Unbelievable beyond words.

This take away was very quick and efficient. There ends the good bit! Everything else was very poor. Food, dry ribs were wet and were seriously overcooked, chilli and salt squid were in a soggy batter, the batter was inedible, king prawn curry was too thick and 'gloopy' and egg fried rice was a peculiar mix of black/brown colours with little evidence of egg. On the whole an experience not to be repeated, and forgotton ASAP.

Fairly standard offering, did what it said on the tin without excelling. Would I go again, yes probably. Very friendly & happy guy on the front desk.
