Knightingales of Grantham in South Kesteven

Called in here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised,we ordered one Chilli Con Carni and one Beef stew they were both delicious and filling,we would eat here if in town again.

We really enjoyed our quick stop for a bite to eat. Sandwiches were superb, no bother when ordering to personalise, was quick and simply delicious. The owner made time to chat, is a genuine decent person and knows how to make an excellent coffee. My wife said it was the best carrot cake she's ever had - do call in

Lovely homemade food and superb desserts. Friendly service and prices to match. Well worth a visit. I had a Chilli con Carne and my Fiancee had the Chicken, bacon, leek and potato One Pot. Both were delicious. The Carrot cake and Lemon Cheesecake went down a treat too. We will come again.

This is a lovely cafe with plenty of outdoor seating. Stopped here with the missus for a cuppa and a panini each and couldn't complain about what we got. Very interesting building with a history the owner was happy to indulge my curiosity over. A lovely, clean, COVID secure and friendly experience and no doubt we'll be back.

We have been using Knightingales as our go to coffee spot since Patrick and Hayley took over the business. Food is home cooked and tasty, coffee and cakes are excellent. The service is very friendly and we are always made to feel welcome. Good outside seating areas. The location is very handy for the town centre, but situated on a quieter side road. Value for money and not a chain eatery. Strongly recommend you try it!

Called in one afternoon, after a long walk. We had tea and a coffee, the tea tasted of plastic, was not impressed at all.

We visited here for lunch today as had read the reviews and wanted to eat in a non chain restaurant. I had the spicy parsnip soup which came with croutons and bread. My partner had Coronation Chicken sandwiches which came with salad and crisps. The food was quickly prepared and served and tasted very fresh. The decor is quite interesting and quirky. We would return here if we are back in the area.

Quality Coffee and very friendly service. Homemade cakes are delicious. Next i'll try the breakfast and stews. Highly recommend the patio. Central off main through road. Parking free on street or pay car park diagonally opposite. Access down a side passage could be missed. Level wheelchair access. Dog friendly in sheltered courtyard. Sensible range of good, wholesome ‘home made’ food. E.g. deep filled flans accompanied by mixed salad and choice of bread vegetarian pulse based casserole, generously filled oven cooked jacket potatoes. ‘Dangerously tempting’ range of cakes. Narrow access to WC may be difficult for wheelchair. ‘User friendly’ staff.

For years I’ve been driving past Grantham on my way from the south to Yorkshire but this time, hungry for breakfast and desperate for a coffee, I decided to stop in the town to find a cafe. The Knightingales was an unexpected delightful find. My egg and bacon sandwich and black coffee were just what I needed. The service was quick and my modest order just right. Above all I loved the friendly atmosphere, the early morning chat between the customers and the owner (?), conversations from Brexit to Venezuela, an RAF flypast to rugby, to testing a teenager on multiplication! A friendly familiar atmosphere, just perfect for a market town cafe. I will stop again!

We had some shopping to do at the local market and rather than preparing something on our return, we thought we`d take the lazy option......good job too :) Nice venue, friendly staff, quick service and very well prepared food.....Couldn`t fault it! I had the small breakfast (which I found more than adequate), Sue had a cheese toasty and we washed them down with a couple of very good coffees - grand total was around eleven quid so no complaints there either......I may just end up being roped into this market lark more often if part of the fun is nipping in for breakfast!

Filter coffee was excellent. Decided on a Cheese toastie as quite cold outside, we were looking forward to more of cheesy cheese toastie but what we got was very skimpy on filling, toast was lovely but let down by a hardly there taste of cheese.

The owners always welcoming and friendly, food prepared quickly and fresh. The atmosphere is great and very clean.

Walking around Grantham we came across this dog friendly cafe and it was so good. Great coffee and cakes and a mean hot chocolate. Even supplied water for the dog. Gents look out RAF photos in the toilet. The owners so friendly and full of local knowledge

Carnt recommend this place enough for a lovely lunch very relaxed setting scrumptious food definitely recommend scrambled egg and smoked salmon was delicious 😋 will be back

3 of us in the general area and only 1 of us knew about this little place. Met up, rounds of tea, coffee and cake, sat outside in the little courtyard area. Staff friendly, good quality, and nice to not be in a generic high street franchise. Worth seeking out if you are in the town.

Called in one late afternoon just for quick bite to eat lovely place food lovely. Cafe very interesting place at which we were told used to be a brewery. Looking more like ex Church will return to try other foods ss cakes lush i had GF millionaire's short cake to which was best ive had in 25yrs

Came here for the first time and wasn't disappointed. Nice simple breakfast. Not wanting to sound rude it wasn't extra special, just a nice simple breakfast with plenty of tea which didn't cost the earth. I would happily return and maybe try some of the cake which looked nice.

Visited today for the first time and was very pleased we stopped off. I had a small lasagne and my other half had cheesecake, both were excellent ! The service was great and very friendly and helpful, will definitely stop off again when in Grantham.

Love coming to this place for a drink, cake and the best thing that the cafe does is the breakfast. The food is tasty, freshly cooked and great value for money. You’re always greeted with a smile and never pressured to leave. Highly recommend this place

Friendly staff, gorgeous cakes. Would definitely recommend the Lemon Cheesecake! Clean and tidy. The place has a lovely vibe and is inside a beautiful building.

Another great cafe in our lovely town. Great food at good prices and lovely to sit in or outside (weather permitting). Staff are very friendly and not long to wait for food. Have been a few times now and always excellent.

Desayunamos dos veces. Una vez sentado fuera en el patio pequeño, así no por la carretera y una vez dentro. Un montón de opciones y los huevos revueltos es genial con o sin salmón. Personal muy agradable y un ambiente confortable. Comparado con otros lugares es buena comida demasiado

Decidimos probar algo diferente para comer y no nos decepcionó con nuestra elección. Un montón de comida casera y el quiche era la mejor que he probado! Servicio amable y eficiente. Hubiera sido un 5 estrellas pero nuestra superficie mesa estaba pegajosa al tacto - parecía limpia, así que esto puede haber sido la limpieza de residuos de líquido? No resta un gran almuerzo.

Great service and variety. Food is always fresh and hot and served with a smile. The decors a little plain but not offensive and made up by the hospitality.

Sometimes pop in for lunch. They do a fantastic gluten/dairy free chicken avocado salad. Service prompt and efficient

Pequeña cafetería en una fábrica convertida. Parking - aparcamiento gratuito limitado oon guildhall de calle fuera locales argos pago diagonalmente opuesto. Fácil acceso para sillas de ruedas al café o fuera al lado soleado patio. Popular con los padres/abuelos de pre-escolares, los compradores o parejas de jubilados.

This is a lovely Cafe with a good variety of food in the middle of town , it is situated on Guildhall Street with a great sweet shop next door and is just round the corner from the Market place

I have been coming to Knightingales for a number of years and always had good service, the staff are friendly and the food is fresh and homemade, the soups are lovely in winter and if you are trying to watch your weight this is the pace to go as the salads and many other thing on the menu are excellent for this. The menu is not set in stone so if you want a something slightly different they can accommodate this.

If you are looking for good food at a good price in nice surroundings this a good place in the centre of Grantham to go

Found this cute restaurant while out for the day with my mum. It was lovely, the food was fantastic and the staff were all very helpful. We do don't live in Grantham but if we do visit again we would definitely return to this restaurant.

Nice staff, does the usual coffee/tea and cake think. Very nice outside in the summer, as you watch the world go by.

Ordered the medium breakfast. Good quality ingredients, well cooked, piping hot and well priced. Coffee really good. Interesting building and lady who served me cheerful and friendly. Will definitely return.

My friend and I came here to meet up for lunch.. my friend chose homemade quiche and I had lasagna. .. wow I could hardly finish mine!! Delicious. The staff are friendly overall I would recommend nightingales :-)

I stopped for a light lunch with a friend and we were able to sit in a lovely courtyard, tucked away from the road with good shade on a sunny day. The food was beautifully fresh (home -made soup and quiche, fresh bread and tasty sandwich fillings). There was a great choice, with plenty for vegetarians as well as meat and fish lovers and a lovely range of cakes. I will go back - great value, good service and a nice setting and all good value.

They serve tasty, freshly prepared home-made meals and cakes. The hot meals are really quite hearty and filling - the baked potatoes are flavoursome and not at all watery and her chicken stew was delicious.The coffee and hot chocolate drinks are very pleasant and there are plenty of cakes to choose from. The staff are smiley and helpful.Why does TripAdvisor still list this cafe as serving Chinese food? This could hardly be further from the truth!

From their lovely salads, yummy panninis to their very tasty homemade lasagne and quiche Knightingales is a top place for lunch. The coffee is good and the cake selection is tempting. I often meet friends and family here and I've never been disappointed!

Lovely place to visit, daughter lives in grantham so on out visit from Australia she recommended lunch here, it was a cold spring market day so we managed to get a table quickly, food was lovely and fresh and arrived quickly after we had ordered, staff very friendly and very good value for money, we will soon be calling in again for 'much, well done, keep up with the great customer service and happy faces,

I've decided that it's my favourite tea room in Grantham. Lunch was delicious and the cake's were lovely to. All was at a reasonable price. Food came out quickly.

There aren't many places to truly keep going back to in Grantham, but I keep going back to this tearoom. I'm addicted to their mochas as they are the best I've tasted, anywhere. The cakes are tasty & good portions too. Service is always with a smile & can bring to your table.

My Friday treat is a Jacket Potato from Knightingales - they are always well loaded with filling and the staff are always very welcoming!

Great coffe, great homemade food, lovely service!!!

Knightingales is sort of tucked away but worth the effort involved in finding it. Why do I find it difficult to find a decent cafe in most towns I visit. They should be the norm rather than the exception. I have few requirements, freshly made sandwich with a decent tea or coffee along with maybe a slice of delicious cake. How hard can that be? Try as I might however, all too often even these meager boxes remains unticked. I'm sure they're out there it just shouldn't be a lottery to find them. Don't get me wrong I like a greasy spoon with a bacon butty as much as anyone but these are generally ten-a-penny, it's the 'quality' end of the market where the problems lie. Knightingales is modern but simply decorated and for £4.95 served up a round of sandwiches with some coleslaw and crisps. I had pawn, avacado and sweet chilli on brown (which tells you a lot about the ambition involved here) whilst le chick had cheese an chutney. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, again this should be the norm but all too often isn't. Coffee and hot chocolate were also well executed and we say out in the courtyard in the sun and congratulated ourselves on our choices of venue
