Found this place by coincidence as we were in the area and suddenly wanted to eat. We were pleasantly surprised and we would come back again. Food is simple but works for the palate. The sushi we ordered were tasty, one can taste the original flavours of the salmon and tuna. Ramen was also nice, a bit salty but not deal breaker. The crispy duck ramen topping was yum but perhaps more should be done to preserve the crispiness of duck as it can easily slide and soak in the broth. Presentation was simple but elegant, including how tea was served. So generous and was in a pot! Very seldom nowadays in restaurants of this price range. Ambience was calm and with the right volume of sound to enjoy the meal. Perhaps missing a bit of the Japanese feel. The staff are amazing.Friendly, attentive and fast service. Overall, very good value for money!

It was OK - not mindblowing. Staff were nice and the toilet clean. The sashimi was thick cut and generous. The tempura donburi was good and came with 2 prawns, 3 veg, rice and miso soup. I had higher hopes for the yakitori - I'm afraid that this was not very good. 4 beers and food £70. I won't be hurrying back here soon.

I have never felt inclined to write a review of an establishment unless it’s either outstandingly great or outrageously diabolical and unfortunately in this case it’s the latter. My previous visits a few years back had been good and the food is lovely there and we’ve enjoyed the usage of the private room upstairs for big party gatherings so I often recommend my friends there. My friend had booked a table for 11 of us as a long overdue girly get together on a Sunday afternoon, unfortunately on the day my friend who’d booked the table and also a few others couldn’t make it, but there were still 7 of us who could make it and my friend said to just give her name when we arrive as the table had already been booked. However upon arrival the owner of the restaurant told us that there were no booking and I told her that my friend had booked the room upstairs for us, although the party size is now down to 7, she asked me whether or not we wanted the big room and I said yes please if that’s possible so they ushered us up into a very dark dingy area and told us to wait, the seats were all ripped and doesn’t look very inviting so we all stood there waiting not knowing what was going on. We waited for about 20 minutes and still no one came to us so I said to my friends I’ll go upstairs to the big room to see if we can be seated , we were all so hungry by then as it was almost 3pm. Little did I know I was to be greeted by a very aggressive owner who then accused me of being rude and crazy! All I wanted to do was ask whether the room was ready and if we could sit down but as soon as she saw me she didn’t let me have a word in edgeways , she shouted and screamed at me aggressively saying that there’s been no booking and that I’d been rude to her on the phone demanding to have the big room and just because I could speak English I think I’m all i! I suffer from M.E and anxiety, her hostility and the look on her face really gave me a throbbing headache and she made me really anxious, I was shocked and couldn’t believe that I was being treated in such an appalling manner! I really understand what the other reviewer was going through when they said they felt violated, the treatment really is outrageous!! I was really polite on the phone and no way was I being rude, being shouted at and accused in that way was really upsetting, never in my life had I been treated so appallingly at a restaurant before ever! I was going to walk out there and then but at the same time I was really hungry and felt light headed and I didn’t want to have to waste any more time having to look for another restaurant so i had to diffuse the situation and calm her down by saying I’m not here to argue about it, if the big room is not ready we are absolutely fine with dining downstairs. After she’d finished ranting at me and finally listened to what I had to say she did eventually calm down and told me it’s fine she’s not here to argue with me either and asked me the name of the friend who’d booked the table and then said they’d never received any booking but it’s fine the room is ready for us!! Hallelujah she could have just told me that from the beginning without giving me an earful. This lady was very Jekyll and Hyde, one minute she was so aggressive but after that she turned back to her normal nice self again and started chatting in a nice way to my friends. I understand that working in hospitality you can get stressed and tired and in this case there looks like a miscommunication between my friend and the person who took the booking but there is no need to take it out on me the innocent customer who actually always sings your restaurant praises, now you’ve just lost out on a loyal customer, as no way would I be returning after this nightmarish experience!!! The food is really good there but the service is absolutely dreadful, the worse restaurant experience ever, definitely not the relaxing experience you would want having paid £350 for a meal.

Appalling delivery service. Ordered a meal for two, order 2033. Half the meal was completely forgotten, and eventually delivered 1h30 later. Called the delivery man who mostly did not pick up, and when he did, he spoke no English. No contact from the restaurant or delivery driver, left waiting outside in the cold. We are regular customers and this is well below the standard we expect. We will not be ordering from here again sadly. We would advise others to be wary, unless you want to wait close to two hours for dinner.

This is a TERRIBLE restaurant and the worst restaurant in London ! Don’t go if you want to have real Japanese foods. This is Chinese owner and all staff are Chinese people. You can see many cob web and super slow service. Staff are very rude and aggressive. Menu is dirty A4 papers. Not clean, this is a fake Japanese restaurant and terrible people. Please go to Other Japanese restaurant. London has a lot of real Japanese restaurant. After reading such “good reviews” I thought this would be a great place. We sat downstairs which was equivalent to an IGLOO it was freezing! The decor is tacky and very back dated spider webs and overall very unclean. Price wise I spend over £120… I am one to pay for my food — but this was in NO way justified. This place needs a serious revamp. And waiters need some proper clothing… not wearing children’s t shirts. Very disappointing. Best thing about the night was the fact I rang in earlier in the day to tell them it was a birthday evening and to bring a cake at the end…. They didn’t.

Went to this place for the first time yesterday (3 adults and 2 kids). Food was absolutely delicious and very fresh. Family run business and Nicole was very pleasant to talk to and even spent time talking us through the various whiskeys and their history. Service can be improved and they have acknowledge that, but i am ok to oversee this as the food more than makes up for it! Will be back- thanks Nicole and family

The average tripadvisor rating does not reflect the quality of the food I tasted, which is less than average and very bad value for money. The fact that it was a delivery does not excuse some of the issues - salmon avocado roll: salmon was fine tasted fresh but the rice was a very bad sushi rice, not cooked properly, overcooked for some parts and undercooked for other...the vinegar sugar mix was not balanced properly...eatable but Itsu does a better job (I am not even going to compare it to the likes of Attari ya) - Prawn tempura roll: the seaweed had a rubber/chewy texture...i do not know whether it is the quality of the seaweed or just because they put 2 layers and it sucked the oil...but it spoiled the rolls - Soba and tempura: fine I cannot comment on service and other aspects but the quality of the food does not justify the price... First and probably last try, it is unliked this will become a new go to sushi place...

El estándar suele ser 12. 5% y debería depender de nosotros si queremos agregar más. Éramos solo una mesa de dos y el servicio fue extremadamente lento y torpe (nos dejaron caer hielo y nos disculparon por esperar algunos de los artículos que pedimos), entonces, ¿por qué agregar una propina tan extravagante para usted? The first visit was with my daughters for lunch on the suggestion of my eldest who lives locally. We have been here repeatedly since. They both love sushi and this place did not disappoint us. The sushi selection was extensive and the portions generous and enough choices for vegan/vegetarian. The service could be a bit slow as there seems to be only two serving everyone - but friendly enough. The ramen is always a good choice.

I am not very familiar with Japanese food, and I had never eaten Sushi before, so I was very curious. I told this to the waitress, who kindly took the time to explain to me the differences between several dishes. We were offered the chance to order small plates of several different dishes so I had the chance try out what I liked most. The food was excellent and the visit made me fall in love with Japanese food. I've you come to Greenwich, don't miss out on this!

Visité Kitcho nuevamente ayer y, como antes, realmente lo disfrutamos. Las albóndigas de cerdo y el tofu frito para empezar eran absolutamente deliciosos. El compañero tenía sushi de "flor de cerezo", magnífico pero no barato. Tuve donburi de cerdo que era enorme! Sabroso pero un poco demasiado. Hay un nuevo menú del desierto y disfrutamos de helado de té verde y helado de arroz con ajonjolí negro. El servicio fue atento y mejor que las visitas anteriores. Recomendado.

No water no nothing until I asked. Busy waitresses.Food: the food is overpriced for the quality. I had assorted tempura — one of the worst I ever had. Tofu curry — mediocre. We ordered two ramen based on the amazing review and the spicy beef came without any of the toppings described in the menu, the sirloin could be any meet as it is very thin and tastes like paper. The sauce is only spice and taste nothing. We are very disappointed, nothing compared to Ippudo, where usually we go for ramen.

Our 'ramen' arrived - instant noodles, oily soup, none of the advertised bamboo, no spinach, no black fungus, no egg, no char sui pork. We paid over thirty pounds and yet when the Chinese printed receipt arrived, the total was twenty-one pounds, meaning on top of all of this we have also been overcharged. When I called the restaurant to confront and fix this serious issue, my integrity was called into question. As someone who has worked in a Japanese restaurant in the past, I am astounded and disgusted by the manners and quality of 'food' that we were supposed to sit back and accept. Usually we would simply never use this restaurant again, however because of the disgraceful impact of this situation we will now be talking to those with higher authority, because we believe it is completely against the most basic principles of a restaurant to falsely advertise the contents of their food and not state that another restaurant will be making it.

Vinimos aquí para el almuerzo y me sorprendió gratamente cómo la comida es genial! Dependiendo de plato, las raciones son generosas y el menú es moderado. Toda nuestra comida llegó a 20 libras por persona y valió la pena cada céntimo. Recomiendo encarecidamente su salmón shisimi! El único inconveniente era intentar encontrar aparcamiento. Hay aparcamiento de pago frente al restaurante pero tiene plazas limitadas.

Paramos por casualidad en descubierto una joya culinaria pero. Nunca tuvimos realmente un buen comer en el restaurante japonés antes, pero el personal era genial en el que se explica cómo conseguir lo mejor de su cocina. We were a group of 11 at a dinner organised by the parents reps for my sons nursery. The food was excellent and quite generous portion for Japanese cuisine. Service was good and will definitely go back for more. Oh and definitely recommend the plum wine for after dinner.

Looked forward to tasting the food here but it was rather underwhelming. Gyozas and pork dumpling starters were rather bland, as were the deep fried prawns and squid tempura. The chicken in teriyaki sauce was no great shakes either. Service was friendly and helpful but was a little slow with just one waitress dealing with both takeaways and customers seated at tables.

This is a wonderful restaurant for fairly priced, authentic japanese food. All the fish used for the sashimi and nigiri we had was of very high quality and tasted beautifully fresh. The wasabi prawns were also especially nice, with the tempura being crisp and it had a perfect balance of wasabi flavour. The tempura assortment we ordered was also very good and was light and crispy, not soggy or greasy at all. Another highlight of the meal was the mango dragon maki. At first it seemed that mango on sushi would be an unusual combination however it worked perfectly by adding a hint of sweetness along with the mayo. It also had a wonderful mix of textures as the soft mango complemented the crispy tempura inside and the fish roe on top. This was definitely the favourite dish of the evening. For dessert we finished the meal nicely with a selection of ice cream mochi. Overall it was a wonderful meal and this restaurant is truly a gem in Greenwich.

My girlfriend and I actually live in Greenwich and we frequent this restaurant. I cannot understand some of the reviews, particularly about rude staff. Staff has always been very nice to us. Sure, there has been a couple of occasions where they've been swamped by parties and they have forgotten to bring us the odd fork or a pint, but they have always been very polite and doing their best.

We have become regular visitors to this restaurant; more like addicts. :) We've tried out most of the menu (wasabi king prawns, crispy duck ramen, hell's gyo ramen, tokyo sashimi, ebi tampura, to mention a few...). My recommendation is to explore the endless list. Go for it; you will not be disappointed!

At Kitcho, we took Sushi and Sashimi. Real fresh fish and a nice Sake. The food is high quality, the taste is more than good, almost perfect. They have a very nice impressive Shochu list and a good assortment of Sake. Not many Japanese restaurants outside Japan can offer this quality.

Habíamos estado deseando ordenar de Kitcho y eran s decepcionó! El plato de carne tiene unos minúsculos, muy finas piezas de carne seca, dura y sin sabor. Pollo era el mismo, la porción de kimchee era de menos de @ libras 4 cucharada. 50 El atún también era pequeña en parte. Es una pena, ya que vivimos localmente y esperaba este sería otro favorito. Selección limitada para la gente que no puedo comer sin gluten que es triste como comida japonesa tradicional NO TIENE gluten!

We have refound this gem of a restaurant after revisiting Greenwich. It has moved to near to Greenwich DLR station. The food is still fabulous and great. Especially the Pork Gyoza's and Wasabi Prawns.Very friendly staff and good service. Great feeling to be back.

Recently went here with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The waiter was very knowledgeable and his recommendations were excellent. The kids loved the Japanese soda and it was the first time they'd tried sushi. All of our dishes were delicious, but we were too full to eat dessert. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in London.

They'd take our orders, spend ages cooking and then only told us if they didn't have something after all the other food had came! Just to make that even worse, they barely had anything we ordered! I wouldn't recommend this place unless you were a very (and I mean very) patient person. Maybe learn to meditate? ⌨️

Staff appeared very disorganised, they didn't seem to have half the things we ordered, or didn't know the menu, food and drinks quite a while to arrive, and arrived randomly, i.e. three of the six drinks arrived ten minutes before the other three.On two occasions we found out they didn't have something we ordered after chasing where it was, when the rest of the drinks or food had arrived (i.e. 20 minutes after ordering). It would have been better to be told earlier when we could have ordered something else.Shame as it used to be better on earlier visits. Staff acknowledged the service wasn't good, but this didn't make up for a disappointing meal.

I have visited this restaurant a number of times and the food has always been excellent. The last time I visited was with my son who is a trainee Japanese chief in a west end restaurant and he was extremely impressed with the plating and quality of the food. Compared to west end restaurants the food is reasonably priced. Ingredients for this type of food is expensive. Yes the service is not the quickest and you do sometimes need to remind them of odd dishes or drinks but these is an endearing charm about the place which you don't get in the restaurant chains. I have visited Nobu & Sexy Fish and would rate the food as good as them . I love it as it is and will defiantly be back

The food was nice but the whole experience was ruined by shocking service. When we arrived they didn't have our reservation, we then had to move tables as an air conditioning unit was dripping on us. Whilst we were choosing our food a menu was snatched out of our hand to give to another table who didn't have enough, our drinks had to be chased twice before they materialised, the food was very slow to come and two of the main courses came 10 minutes after the others, we chased up a dish which hadn't come and it then came twice, the waiter had a go at US as they had cooked it fresh. The list goes on. I agree with some of the comments about the food being nice, but they don't deserve to be as busy as they were with such appalling service. AVOID.

An interesting experience. On entry it really seems just like a bar (but so do many eating places in Japan). The menu is quite difficult to navigate, but the owner helped us. There was quite a wait for food but when it came it was really good. Very different from most Japanese restaurants in UK. Well worth trying and experimenting with the menu.

I really love this restaurant. The food is top quality and always fresh. The presentation is also impressive. The staff are really nice too. The only downside is their service is quite slow. You always have to wait at least 30 min for your food to arrive. It could be because they put a lot of care into their food but I admit I've nearly chewed my arm off before because I was so hungry waiting for my food.

My husband and I waited for AN HOUR for our food to come while the rest of our party finished their food. There was no apology for the delay, even though we asked about our food a few times (to make sure they had not forgotten about us). To make matters worse the table next to us, a couple who came in after we ordered, had their entire ordered served immediately. When we finally got the food we were both disappointed. The sushi was average and the hot food was really inauthentic and not worth the cost.Overall a disappointing experience. We were excited about the find and really wanted to like the restaurant, but won't be visiting again.

Where do I even start... RUDE, AGGRESSIVE, LIARS. From the moment I walked in after reading such great reviews my opinion and experience dropped to virtually NO STARS.I waited for 15 minutes after my booking for a table, I waited longingly, still no table or even an offer to order a drink or sit down....Finally 25 minutes later my sister her partner and I got a seat. And it took 30 minutes to order...we got to order drinks and the man left to take food to someone mid order. It was totally wrong and totally inappropriate. Secondly we were offered free food - first time customers who were entitled to a free starter....oh wow the quality of the starters was brilliant but when it came to the bill...we got charged and I corrected the gentleman...the lady then came over and proceeded to shout at me telling me that was not what was said...I nearly died being shouted at number one and number two what the actual hell was going on...we were being sworn at in Cantonese (f you choke ) to be precise. The lady continued to point her finger at me and accused us of lying about a 4 pound dish. Thirdly do NOT eat a ramen here it is awful - bland, watery no flavour. The meat is grissly and minuscule portion size. So I sent it back to the kitchen and was told it was fine....it was definitely not. Do not question my ability to identify food....They are an insult to Japanese cuisine, they are rude and nobody should ever be treated that way when you are paying for a service.Mortified DO NOT EAT HERE.

My husband and I love this place. Great service, very fresh sushi which is expertly prepared and well presented. There is a good choice of wine also. Most definitely recommend a visit if you're in Greenwich and looking for a restaurant for dinner. It's just a 10 minute walk from the centre towards Deptford Bridge. I believe they offer a take away service for collection also.

I have been in the restaurant and also ordered take away. When we were in the restaurant it was just like they forgot we were there - even though it was far from crowded. We waited for forever to get to order something to drink, and even longer to be able to order food. Getting the food also took forever. When I ordered take away, only 1/3 of the food we ordered arrived and it also took very long to get the food in the first place.On a more positive note, the sushi is good.
