I had never been to this restaurant before however so glad I did! No generic Indian menu thank god everything I had was so authentic, original and absolutely delicious. The lamb biryani was the best I have ever had, the rice was delicate and light, spices perfectly balanced, lamb was like butter and enough for two people. The dips were inspired I especially liked the tamirind one, delicious. This is a family run business with the chefs daughters serving and you can definitely feel the love in the food. Need I say anymore! Oh yes and the homemade bread is stunning too.

Better than a lot of the dosas I had in India - and I had a lot. Top, friendly service. Good prices during a difficult time. I'll be back, thank you.

Four of us booked a table on Saturday night an hour before and WOW what a fantastic experience, the food was sublime, staff superb and the Chef even came out of the open kitchen to greet us all, a fantastic experience overall and very reasonably priced, definitely a hidden gem and under occupied, would highly recommend as your food is to your choice spicey/hot or mild, your choice and requirements, loved it, thank you

We went today and we enjoyed all of the food we ordered. Stand out favourites included the shami kebabs, the pashwari naan and the butter chicken. My son has serious, multiple food allergies and the lovely owner was very attentive and accommodating of this. Very reassuring. We will be back!

This restaurant has been great every time I've been. It caters for vegans and non vegans alike, plus they are really accommodating with food intolerances. There is a vegan menu which tells you which items are suitable, which makes life a whole lot easier than searching through the whole menu. The food is always freshly cooked and delicious: the Pani Puri and Masala dosa are particularly good. Finally, the staff are really friendly and welcoming. My only (tiny) complaint is the small step at the top of the ramp which means it isn't fully accessible. I need someone to tip me up the step and I doubt a motorised wheelchair or scooter could cope. Also, the unisex toilet is a little on the small side for wheelchairs, but these are issues with the building rather than the food. If they got a ramp for that step, it would be almost perfect.

I don't know where all these good reviews come from for this establishment - I selected it for dinner last week, based on the reviews mostly, and was very disappointed indeed. I thought it looked odd - all the colours of the rainbow and a few more, imitation flowers hanging from the ceiling etc. When I walked in, a lady started to show me to a seat, but then announced that they couldn't take cards for payment: I didn't have enough cash. but offered to go 50 yards down the road to a cash till, which I did. The menu was partly a photocopy - apparently new dishes, and seemed to have a south Indian bias. They were very nice when they took my order. The starter was meant to be a veg curry (S.Indian) with a puffy Indian bread, along with relishes. I've had this a number of times in proper restaurants and it can be delicious In this case, the bun was a supermarket burger bun dipped in the curry!! I didn't eat it. The relishes were onions, a bottled pickle and some sweet white stuff. The curry was diced carrots, peas etc in a brown sauce that could, again have come from a bottle. Then the main came which was supposed to be Chicken Karai, which I've had all over the UK. It was served in a sort of karai, but was another brown saucy mess with some chopped coriander in it and lumps of chicken. It had no character and I left most of both courses. I had complained about the bun, but the waitress just smiled, slightly knowingly, and I was charged for it. So where do all these good reviews come from?

It’s all about heritage forget your standard curry house this is not it! It’s better much much better every mouthful is pleasure! As Peter Kay says it’s a taste sensation all the chef wants to do is make you happy through love of the food that the chef is creating if u have never visited your so missing out ! Believe me you will not receive better food and most of all what we all love is great service and from this family run restaurant u will receive both!

After reading all the good comments on this place before visiting yesterday, I was quite disappointed tbh. The food tasted like it was all reheated, not fresh at all. The place is beautiful and the service was lovely, but the food let it down I'm afraid. The masala chai in the end was really nice, but won't be visiting again.

This was our first visit to this amazing restaurant and it certainly won't be the last. The food is incredible- truly authentic Indian/Pakistani recipes that sadly you never see on the menu. The chilli chicken and chilli paneer starters were so flavourful, the vegetable biryqni was to die for and the dabba chicken out of this world. Amira is a lovely, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable front of house and husband Mohammad a brilliant chef. We'll be back. Very soon. Just try the food here and I seriously doubt you'll be going anywhere else.

Had a fabulous evening here with my work colleagues celebrating my retirement. The owners and the staff who are their daughters could not have been more attentive. Very professional. The food was delicious. We all had a brilliant time. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Reading the latest reviews has shocked me, I have visited Kitchen Chronicles several times with my family and friends and I can honestly say fantastic food and service. Amina is a brilliant front of house,extremely accommodating (They created a lovely Thali for my 16 month old granddaughter). In these hard times it’s fantastic to see her and her family working so hard to create a great experience. Please ignore the bad reviews and support this restaurant. If you read any of my previous reviews if I’ve had a bad experience I will review accordingly

First time here... Menu isnt clear as it dosent state if items come with anything eg rice?. Food was nice but service terrible, the staff didn't know what they were serving. We ordered naan bread which didn't arrive and pilau rice which came as boiled rice!. When we mentioned this, we got told it was because they were busier than expected.. no apology! Would I go.again????? Doubtful How dare you say it was stolen! I asked the girl behind the bar and she said I could have one and even gave me a clean one! I think it's the least you could have done after what we spent and the service!

Whilst the food is OK, the menu does not adequately explain what the meals are, it isn't clear what meals are starters and what are mains. The customer service is poor, I had to ask for a menu and cutlery, the menu that I was given was for drinks, the waitress came over a few minutes later to take my food order and was visibly miffed when I pointed out I had not been given a menu. When it arrived, the food was not great, the portion size for the main meal was poor.

OK, so the menu looks interesting, it is a bit different which is what attracted me to the restaurant. First of all the tables are a bad fit for the chairs, the chairs are uncomfortable, they feel like something manufactured from old pallets and the upholstered. Because they have not got a sound system installed, there is one loud speaker at the front of the restaurant which is where we were sat, this added to the discomfort. The staff were more concerned by someone leaving the restaurant with a glass that they had stolen than offering my wife and I a drink. When we were eventually given menu's, we made our selection. The menu's do not give a good indication of what the food actually is, we took a punt on what sounded nice and ordered, my starter arrived about 10 mins before my wife's, I had finished mine by the time my wife's arrived. The starter I have to say was very nice, and my wife agreed. I had to ask for cutlery three times, the main meal's arrived, again it was disjointed my wife's meal arrived after mine. My wife was happy with her meal, I was not, it was basically an ordinary Chicken Leg at the cost of £15.00. When we had finished our meals we tried to pay by card but the card machine was not working, I was asked to go to the bank to withdraw cash, I could not do this as I only had my phone to make a payment, the manager was making an embarrassing scene about this making us feel as if we were trying con them and trying to leave without paying, I offered to come back to pay but they would not accept this. This could have been handled in a much better way! Fortunately another customer offered to pay my bill and I sent him the funds when I arrived home, which I have done. I absolutely will not be returning to this establishment and would urge anyone else not to. Aamchi Mumbai in Cheadle offers the same sort of food without the bad service and discomfort. I am surprised that this restaurant is in business and would be surprised if it lasts much longer. There is not a low enough rating for me to explain how disappointed I am.

As another review said, an absolute hidden gem. This family-ran Indian serves loads of dishes, including Indian streetfood. Lots of vegan options, as well as section for those wanting a lighter meal. Been here twice now and added photos from both times. Love it!

Wonderful food, full of flavour. Not your average Indian restaurant, which is why we went. So refreshing to be serving authentic dishes, which don't comply to the British perception of Indian food. We would go back. Soon.

Great warm welcome and atmosphere, nothing is too much trouble. A fantastic selection of meat and vegetarian Indian street food and curries. Great for sharing with family and friends, if your unsure of your choice friendly advice is always at hand. Reasonable prices and a stocked bar are great additions. Try it now.

Visited as a family after seeing good reviews. Wasn’t disappointed! We were treated by the lovely proprietor who was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is nicely furnished and clean. Loved the food! We each had the set meal £15 each 3 courses and everything was delicious. The best meal I have had in a while it was gorgeous fresh and very tasty. Great restaurant. Party of 4 including child had meat/veg thalis...a selection of curries, bread, popadoms, samosa/lollipop chicken, rice. Brilliant value and lovely service. This place opened just before the pandemic so could really do with some support now that things are open again...use it or lose it!

This is such a hidden gem, I wish I knew about it sooner. The food was fresh and amazing, it had great flavours and tasted really authentic. The service was also outstanding, it was quite quiet as it was late on a Tuesday night but there was no rushing us out and the manager was so lovely. The prices are reasonable and the portions are decent. It beats the popular street food places in Manchester hands down. I can't wait to return and eat my way through the menu.

Absolutely loved it here! I live nearby and have been meaning to try Kitchen Chronicles for a while so we went for a family meal for my birthday. The menu is full of exciting dishes that I will be happily working my way through. The staff were really helpful explaining what the lesser known street food dishes were. The food was absolutely beautiful and the staff couldn’t be more wonderful. My 11yr old loved the kheer so much he’s vowed to take his school friends in. There are plenty of curry places in Hazel Grove but if you’re looking for something truly unique with incredible service, this is the one.

We had an amazing meal here, everything that we had was gorgeous. The menu was varied with lots of veggie and non veggie options. I can highly recommend the bhel puri, goat keema pav and the dhaba chicken dishes. They had a small selection of desserts, including carrot halwa, which I have been wanting to try for a while, and it was excellent! We will definitely be back!

Came to visit today, an food was delicious, ordered off the Christmas menu which was 2 courses and a drink for £24.99, and a the midweek offer for 3 dishes for £15.99 with a side of garlic naan. 100% would recommend, super friendly service and great vibes. Will definitely be coming again, thank you for the complimentary desserts too!

This place is amazing- the food was perfect. The most authentic Indian food I’ve eaten outside of India! Menu is really diverse with something for everyone and the owners couldn’t make you more welcome Well priced - 2 of us ate for £52 including drinks!

I've been really looking forward to trying Kitchen Chronicles and after a few failed attempts to place an order via JustEat we called them directly and placed an order. It took almost two hours from the initial call until the food was available for collection and it was actually more expensive to order direct than what was quoted on JustEat (with a 30% discount advertised). The flavours were nice but both curries were extremely oily and the lamb Karahi had an extremely small amount of meat in it. The Sev Puri was really soggy, usually when we order these elsewhere they separate the different components so you can build at home and keep the crunchy texture. There is no delivery option so we collected and it wasn't that easy to park up outside the restaurant. Staff seemed lovely but for what we got I think it was very overpriced when you compare to the very high standards elsewhere and we were a little underwhelmed. Hopefully they can see the feedback as constructive.

Just celebrated my son's birthday at Kitchen Chronicles Indian Restaurant. There were 4 of us and our first time having Indian street food and our first visit there. The owners we're very helpful in recommending different dishes. We ended up ordering the 4 course fixed price menu option each and as there were 4 of us, we all orders different meals each so ended up with wide selection of dishes for us all the try. The desserts were the choice of the owner and she didn't disappoint! There was more than enough food for everyone and it was great for us all to try the table full of different dishes.There wasn't a single one of the eight different dishes that any of us didn't enjoy and given the quality of the food and the final bill, it was excellent value for money as well! Kitchen. Staff are all very helpful and the owner especially nice. Chronicles has definitely become our new favourite place in Hazel Grove now.

Had a most wonderful takeaway collected from this unique restaurant. Very welcoming on arrival and guided to a table to wait whilst food cooked to order. Was provided with a sample bhaji and chutneys : delightful and wholly unexpectedHighly recommend the prawn karahi, chicken Tikka! Definitely will be back

Fantastic authentic Indian food. Such a hidden gem that more people should be aware about. It is a husband and wife who run this place and you can tell they put their heart and soul in to each dish and the service they give is attentive and really friendly. Definitely recommend as a change to your normal curry house!

I love Bunderbust in Manchester but that is a chain, Kitchen Chronicles is not and the food here is dare I say it, even tastier. I cant believe we have such amazing food right on our doorstep in Hazel Grove. Egg pakora, I had to try it, and was not disappointed, the dips that it came with were heavily.
