Kismet in North Tyneside

This is a great placeeat. The staff were very polite and helpful. The actual restaurant yourself was clean and tidy and very welcoming. The only downside of the restaurant is the fact that currently following Covid they do not have an alcohol license or a bring your own facility. That said it doesn’t really matter because the food is fantastic. What I will say is that if you have a disability that is a step into the premises and then to step up to the toilet and it is not from my opinion wide enough for Wheelchair. There is a wide selection as I said earlier of food which is very very authentic. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anybody that did in fact fancy a curry

Always had an amazing hot meal delivered. Apart from today. Took nearly 2 hrs and food was cold and tasteless. I hate doing reviews but I’m sorry kismet but you need to step up. We rave about you but tonight was the last time we order off you. Wish you well but we will take out somewhere else in future ☹️

We have previously eaten in the restaurant when possible (very good) but since lock down this has been our go to for take away. We have never had a bad meal - really high quality tasty food with prompt delivery and great customer service. Highly recommended

Quite simply the best Indian takeaway in Whitley Bay. Food is delicious, hot and fresh, service always excellent. We have been ordering from the Kismet for many years (as well as eating there in person when we could).

The food is always nice from kismet. The restaurant is covid secure for food collection. The mains were amazing, the Chicken Tikka Massala was great, the CT Balti was full of flavour, you could taste and smell the aromatic spices and was overall delicious. However the tandoori mixed kebab , was lacking in India Tandoori flavour and was bland. Both the chicken chatt and the bhuna prawn puri were also amazing, with traditional flavours and taste. I look forward to being able to eat in the restaurant again, the staff are always friendly and welcoming.

We have been enjoying Kismet for a while now because the food is excellent and very good value. We had an issue with the timing of a delivery on New Year's Eve and I was impressed the following day how the manager handled it and they were very responsive and fair in addressing the issue. The issue was never about the food, which is always wonderful. I would highly recommend trying it!

Kismet is our go to treat for a Sunday Curry. Since I tried their menu, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Tender meat and very delicate flavours in the Curry, you can really taste the spices and all the work that goes into the dish... a Real Treat! I recommend the Paratha bread.

We are regulars and love the food, but when we ordered for new Year's Eve, we were told it would be 2 hours. Fine. Three hours later, I phoned to enquire about our order and I was told that the order hadn't even been processed!! No explanation, no apology. In fact, we got attitude from the woman on the phone! When I explained that we were valued customers, I was told that all customers are valued. Well, obviously not, if that's how they treat their customers. We love the food, but that is not the way to treat regulars. Happy New Year.

Meal was ordered for 9.30pm. I understand that it's bound to be busy on New Years Eve but to have no contact from restaurant to say that they're running late is not good customer service. When l eventually got through at 10.40 l was assured that l would still get my meal. It arrived at 11.15pm and upon opening it l discovered it was wrong. It's only a minor thing, l ordered 2 onion bhaji's and got a small rice of some kind instead of the second bhaji. I have used Kismet before Covid and will continue to do so despite this unfortunate experience

Pre-ordered for 9:30pm at 4:42pm, accepted for 9:40 which would have been great. Called the Kismit at 10:52 and they were full of apologies for a regular customer. We were guaranteed for within 30 minutes because they would prioritise us above other whom they also acknowledged that they had let down. We are understanding of some delays with it being NYE but you could have pushed the time back when accepting, you didn’t contact us and it took over an hour for you to answer the phone; also it’s been 34 minutes since you promised a 30 minute delivery and we are going to bed

2 hrs late but would have been easier if they had Told us

We pre ordered on new year's Eve for a delivery at 7:35 (we had a delivery time of 8:05pm). Just eat informed me it had been delivered at 8:45 but there was no sign of delivery. Tried to ring but the phone was taken off the hook. My partner walked along at 9pm to find out what was happening and was told they would cook the food now. While he was waiting at Kismet the delivery turned up at 9:40. There was absolutely no communication from the restaurant. I understand it's possibly the busiest night they have ever had but why change my order to delivered and then make themselves unable to be contacted. Very disappointed. Food was fine once it had finally arrived.

Appalling service. No contact whatsoever despite being over 90 minutes late. Will never order from here again. Clearly due to greed they have overbooked themselves.

Absolutely first class meal , arrived on time , food was very well presented , and the flavours were Devine. We have tried various Indian establishments over the years and we won’t be going anywhere else from now , these guys have definitely got it right too marks well done and thank you.

Lovely food , but 30 minutes late

We've tried a few takeaways over the last few months but this was our first one from Kismet and we will certainly be back. The food was delivered on time, was warm, plentiful and tasted lovely. We will certainly be ordering again from Kismet.

First time trying this place and the food is disgusting! Rice hasn't been cooked long enough,chicken over cooked, curry sauce is making a mockery out of beautiful Indian cuisine. Food wasn't particularly hot. Delivery driver was great and adhered to socal distancing. Waste of money!

Excellent meal as always from Kismet.

Starters were nice, but the main meal was like eating a dish of hot chilli powder, I would say the chef had got a basic curry and just spiced it up with chilli powder, this also happened the last time but I thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt and try it again needless to say it went in the bin.

Used this restaurant a lot for takeaways during lockdown,every meal delicious,and delivered on time.As soon as they opened booked a table ,it was very good ,excellent in fact ,in an area where there is a few Indian restaurants to choose from ,this place stands out,for great food ,nothing bland all the taste and spice just right.Small but perfectly formed ,they have all the safety precautions in place. The staff are friendly and helpful,well worth a visit you won’t be disappointed.

We have used Kismet in the past and sadly this occasion demonstrated a much lower quality. The salad was old and the mint sauce was watery.

Took 1hr 37mins for order to be delivered… after an hour I called to ask, got told something about the new 1 way system on the roads and they were busy. Curry was watery, obviously rushed through. Rice was nice, but small portion.
