Fish and chips are delicious. There's always excellent. There's is aways a good atmosphere and a nice welcome when you walk in. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I would definitely recommend.

The food was lovely the steak pie was amazing and I loved that they wrote merry Christmas on the receipt

Fair to say we was travelling in the car by Kirkstall and if it wasn’t for the junction traffic lights at red and a queue, we noticed the Kirkstall fish shop including the sign board out side light meal dinner time fish chips -peas- curry for £5. So on impulse we turned into the side street and took the £5 option. Yes the portion sizes are what you’d expect but this we took has ok. We are not complaining about the fish … chips browned off all ok. I think Kirstall Fisheries has been here years so it must be ok for others has well. Friendly staff

One of the best fish and chip shops in leeds by far. Absolutely lovely staff and the food is incredible. I couldn’t recommend enough. I had the lite lunch deal which is a small fish, chips and a sauce (I got curry) and it was lovely.

Lovely food, good prices and friendly staff. Try their home made chilli con carne with chips. Out of this world! Tasty, tonnes of it, and only a fiver! I can't keep away from the place. I'm addicted to their chilli con carne! 😊

The cheapest fish and chips in Leeds but definitely not the best. You get what you pay for. £5 for a small fish and chips and extras, is definitely good value for money in late 2022. But the fish was prefried and not very hot, chips were below average. I will not return. I prefer to pay a bit more for better quality.

I always love to get the lunch specials: Lite Bite (fish+chips+gravy/curry/peas) only for £5. It's also the time when the crumbs are available. Ask for it for the delicious bits!

I have eaten many a portion of fish and chips in my life. Kirkstall fisheries never disappoint. Fresh fluffy and crispy chips, Icelandic haddock in a light, crispy golden batter, No greasy after taste. Good value for money, especially the lunchtime offers. And to top it off nice friendly staff which is always an added bonus. Keep up the good work guys n gals

Called in here the other day as I was passing. Ordered their small fish and chips for £5. I was pleasantly surprised,nicest fish and chips I've had in a while. Had a laugh and a chat with friendly staff while fish was cooking. Will call in again

Ordered fish and chips from here today, the chips were last weeks, rock hard and scabby. Uneatable!! Disgusting...

Went last night, first time I’ve been in as we were driving past and it was late. Both the guy who was frying and the lady on the roll were really nice and chatty. Really good food that was cooked to order and not expensive.

Visited for the first time yesterday. Lovely fish and chips and really generous portions too.

Foods always so tasty, staff are always friendly. My only issue is to make sure that you double check the order, I got so carried away chatting I forgot to check and the staff forgot to add something to the order and forgot what I ordered. Will visit again as best chippy in the area.

This chippy is my local, and it is one of the best I've tried in Leeds (lucky me!). Fresh fish, wonderful chips. If you are feeling indulgent get the potato scallops and the spam fritters, all done in a wonderfully light and crispy batter. Great value for money if you go to the shop for a takeaway -- if you order it through justeat it'd cost a significant amount more

Just enjoyed another excellent meal from this establishment. As a frequent visitor from the coast, I choose the fish from this shop. It is much more tasty than some award winning , larger companies. Friendly obliging staff.

Chinese curry sauce is to die for!

First time buying the Friday fish here on 12th as I'm new to the area. Well, these fish and chips are absolutely bang on. Also the online ordering is quick and simple. Only downside is, from what I could see they don't do scampi which is what my partner usually goes for! Would happily give more then 5 stars however. 😊

Used this chippy quite regular, good portions and cooked really well, clean premises and also a bit of banter, plus it sells chip spice, give it a go, you won’t be disappointed

this is one of the worst fish and chips i have ever had. such a wast of money. the fish was such low quality i looks like they have left it out on the side for house. the presentation was awful, my dogs food looked more appetising. never order from here would give 0 stars if possible!!

Whoever says this is "the best fish and chips in Leeds" either is friends with the owner or has never had a fish and chips before, waste of £15 had to bin it, too soggy & low quality. Also feel sick after eating (some) of this, i'v ordered in the distant past and it was generally okay, but not this time

In my 16 years living in Leeds, this is by far the best and most consistently delicious fish and chips I have had here.

Though located in a not particularly well trod area this place does some of the best fish and chips in Leeds. They’ve got their process down to a T and the food they produce is consistently delicious and satisfying. Their lunch offer is extremely good value for money and as a local I am grateful they are in walking distance of my home!

Haven't had take out fish and chips in a while, and although pretty local, have never bought from here till tonight. It will become our new 'go to', proper tasty fish, chips and mushy peas and generous portions. Reasonably priced.

First visit here. Lovely fish and chips.. very flavoursome. Massive portions too. Good old fashioned chippy with a very varied menu. Won't be our last visit

Very nice chips, nicely cooked and value for money. Staff friendly and courteous when serving you. They have deals and Specials on sometimes around events happening in Kirkstall. Well worth a try.

It’s been 10 years since I popped in as moved house. We used to be regulars. Took my daughter in Friday night, we share take away (ate In local park) of fish and chips. The fish was beautiful and best chips ever (some places are quite dry) there were perfect. The fish was tasty, my only qualm was I wanted the batter to be crispier as fish was pre cooked (in glass) I like mine cooked fresh on arrival. I have told the husband though he’ll be picking up every Friday after work to bring home and will ask for fish to be put in then. 10 years on and still going strong. Very friendly staff as well.

Gave 1 because it wudnt let me put zero the food was horrible batter taste disgusting and greasy and at them prices you'd expect it too be good

I have visited Kirkstall fisheries on quite a few occasions and I usually get the special which is always cooked to perfection where the fish just falls apart on the fork and the batter is perfect. The portion size is huge, which is good as I am greedy :-) The owner and staff are very friendly and I would recommend this to anyone. Keep up the good work.

My son and I pop in after school occasionally, we always have a bit of a banter with the owner who is lovely. We love the food from here, it is very fresh and tasty.

Living in the area for University I thought to treat myself to this place. It was a little dark and dated when I went but it was extremely popular so didn't mind the dated look of things. Menu was easy to read and a good selection.

Best chippy in the area but never open when you want it to be. Definitely needs longer opening hours because the fish here is good and other options near by are lacking!

I'm a regular at Kirkstall Fisheries for one simple reason...these are the BEST fish and chips in Leeds! Superb batter, perfect fish and brilliant chips. Can't be faulted. I'll be back!!

Absolutely disgusting. Soggy chips and batter, dripping with oil that soaked through the wrapping. Way too many chips that buried the fish as well, making it even more oily. For a family of 4, we paid £17 and most of it went in the bin. Next time we fancy fish n chips, we'll pay £3 extra and go to Fisherman's Wife.

Great fish shop I believe using alaskan pollock fresh lake white fish instead of irradiated dirty sea fish, one things for sure they dont list what type of fish they sell lol, but the fish is nice take my word for it, my complaint is with the curry sauce, they once did nice Chinese style sauce with no bits in it, now they only offer lumpy fish shop curry sauce... So I dont use them as often unless I fancy mushy peas.. = a 3 star rated fish shop instead of 5 star in my opinion.
