Love the refurb they have done to the shop and also the outside seating area. Owners are always looking at ways to update and keep up to date with speed off service. Pre covid you waited in the cafe however the set up now order in shop and then your number is called is so quick. I was well impressed. I travel from Inverness but always stop , so many places need to take a leaf out off the couple who run this and step up their game . A gold mine . Well done

One of the best toasted cheese and ham sandwiches I've had matched with espresso that's as good as it gets. I say this as being on uk tour the coffee has been lacking everywhere. Plus nothing open within an hour of this area. Waiting for the hotel next door to open at 2 pm to make up for the worst b&b we have ever had last night. Still we drove for hours on single track road and enjoyed some resplendent views

We had been before 3 years earlier and remembered it was good. Well, this time it did not disappoint. The coffee (cortado) was one of the best we ever had. The toasties absolutely delicious. These days it is hard to find a place that does a 'just cheese' (and no onions, no ham, no fancy chutneys) toastie. It was a 3 cheese toastie (cheddar, mozarella and parmesan) and it was perfect. The cafe and store have a lot of character too, you can tell the staff and owner are very proud of the place.

This unassuming little roadside stop is wonderfully underrated. I stopped here during a rainy, blustery ride for a coffee and had a bowl of porridge as well. Firstly - the coffee was brilliant. It was smooth & well made, and a delicious roast. The breakfast menu was simple, but arrived quickly and they do it well. The whole cafe is cute and cosy, the decor really suited it. But I think the real stand out was the service! It was so warm and welcoming, it felt like your parents were looking after you. I loved my little stop here, and if I’m ever up this way again I’ll be sure to visit again!

We have been here before but this was the first time in 'covid times' and we were very impressed with the organisation and covid controls. You go in to the cafe to order and pay (socially distanced of course) then you get a number and when your order is ready your number is called and you collect it from the other end of the building. All very organised and secure. Breakfast rolls are really good and of course they do full breakfasts, cakes and other meals. Better than you might expect for a place attached to a garage! Good unpretentious cafe. Good coffee and tea. Good service.

Really lovely little café attached to the garage. The staff were really friendly and even gave us ideas on where to stop next. Coffee and cake was great. The only thing that let it down was it was very cramped

Great place for a stop off - fill up with diesel, get some groceries (and wine) and dive in for lunch. The owners are lovely folk - happy to share some time chattering with you, and very keen to hear you're enjoying their own gorgeous patch of Scotland. Lovely food and excellent coffee.

Just stopped for petrol and to use the WC. What a delight to use such a clean and beautifully decorated facility. Well done. A huge credit to Scotland!

I mean if you think about it, you're in the middle of nowhere, so this little service station has a lot more than you would expect. The shop has all sorts and there is a small coffee shop for hot drinks and cakes. Handy little place for a pit stop.

Visited Annie’s bakery whilst visiting up visiting family in Thurso. Amazing value for money alongside fabulous savouries and sweets. So much time and effort put into each. Transported plenty of goodies home to North Yorkshire, we will be back!! ☺️

We had some really delicious cake and tea. I would definitely recommend the banana chocolate cake and the apple caramel cake. The service was really nice and I would definitely stop there again.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.

Food was nice and service was, for the most part, friendly. One server seemed to be having a bad day. Brusque and barely civil. Very expensive for what was served.

We stayed at Taigh Ailean for our trip to Skye. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner there (Breakfast was included with our stay.) The dinner was so delicious! The view is lovely as you can see the loch from the windows of the bar. All the staff is fantastic and so friendly! I had a great dinner and I would describe it, but the menu changes to suit what is in season and available from the sea. Whatever you get, I guarantee it will be the best! Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation as it fills up quickly. I know that they also have live music, which would be great, but we didn't have any while we were there.
