Very Cosy old pub, nicely decorated and very quirky. Always friendly staff. Very nice atmosphere all the time we came here. The food was very delicious and reasonably priced. This pub allows to bring the dog inside. There is parking available on the road usually and it is free. Definitely recommend visiting. This pub is like a hidden gem.

The bar side gets extremely busy (on the right when you walk in) however, the eating part is clean and the food is very good. Very old fashioned pub with a nice atmosphere. Would recommend and I shall return 😁

Warm, friendly and inviting pub. Popped in late on a Saturday and although they had a large party on they still managed to accommodate us, food was hearty and good quality and fairly priced. Staff and Locals were very welcoming and chatty.

What a gem this village pub is ! We booked here for Sunday lunch, 4 of us originally. An extra 2 family members decided to join us at the very last minute, the extremely helpful waitress fitted our extra guests in without any problem or fuss whatsoever! We all ordered different meals and deviated from the menu somewhat, again this was no problem and the food arrived very hot and without a hitch. A true English village pub with home cooked food and excellent customer service, what a great experience. Amazing little find and our new regular haunt ! If you feel the need to walk your lunch off …. Cross the main road and head down to the river where there’s a gorgeous little church !

Have visited this gem of a pub a few times whilst on holiday locally. The beer and food are very good and well priced. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Another big plus for us is that the bar is dog friendly, can’t wait until our next trip to the area, so we can call in again

This 3 hundred year old pub is a friendly atmosphere with kind and approachable staff. I sat outside in the beer garden and had a 6oz burger and chips, which was sweved within 20 minutes. Wasn't complaining as it was busy. Highly recommended going to this pub anytime. I will be going again whether it's by myself or with family and friends.

You have to see it to believe it. It has so much history and stories about it. This is local pub however people are extremely friendly both staff and patrons alike. The food is excellent and the selection of beverage is awesome. They do many small promotions that keep it interesting and welcome friendly pets. Must do when in the area and well worth a drive from anywhere within 20 miles.

The beef & ale pie with fresh vegetables was delicious and my friend had scampi with chips. We both enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and will go there again.

Went for a Saturday night meal. Great food and very friendly atmosphere as usual. The meal was improved by an excellent bread and butter pudding although it was a very generous portion which did nothing for my diet!

I am a regular at this outstanding pub and restaurant and therefore totally justified in the well deserved praise that I am about to bestow on this quality hostelry. The standard of beers and food is exemplary and the staff could not be more accomodating. I have recently called in with a friend for the lunchtime special and was pleasantly surprised by one of the best pub lunches I have had. The following Sunday I booked for lunch with my wife and once again had a superb dining experience. Everyone who has anything to do with the smooth running and high standards of this pub and restaurant deserve all the success in the world. This is also recognised by the numerous awards they have won over the years.

Our American friends was in area, so we decided to try out this little pub, as it had last minute availability and good rating on Tripadvisor. It looks great from outside and inside too was very quirky. Bartender/waiter was very pleasant. Place was packed, so it’s clearly popular with locals. I chose Thai green curry and rest of the party had fish and chips. Everyone was happy enough with their fish and chips. My Thai green curry however was inedible. I am not fussiest of all eaters, but I couldn’t eat that, I made my partner to try it just to show how bad it really was. Other then the colour it did not resemble single flavour of Thai green curry, taste was nothing I can explain, but it tasted more like a soap than food. In hindsight I should of really known better than to order it, when the menu stated this ‘authentic’ Thai green curry came with naan. We traveled Thailand extensively and I know Thai green curry often isn’t the same in UK, but I never had a meal I could not eat. Rice with the meal was plain, over cooked and bland. Naan funnily enough was the only thing I ate. For any visitors in area, I’d recommend this cute little pub for a drink or two, but food was mediocre to inedible, so please avoid

Had steak, it was beautifully tender and perfectly cooked. We also ordered seafood linguine, which was also tasty and perfectly cooked. The cheesecake was delicious and I had one of the best Irish coffees ever. We complimented the chef on the day because it was just a great birthday treat and we will be going back again soon. The pub/restaurant oozed atmosphere and made you feel so relaxed and happy. Thankyou KOB

What an excellent choice we made to join up four families from equidistant, the food was lovely the staff were most efficient and polite, many thanks to business that cares.

We pub has a loyal following of locals, everyone is friendly and there is a lovely little garden at the back too. Guaranteed a tasty meal with generous portions.

Visited for the first time in forty years very impressed. Convivial atmosphere good mixture of drinkers and diners. Enjoyed attentive and professional service from the landlords and basically the whole experience reminded me of what a good pub should be. Would definitely return.

Normally go to another pub locally but visited for a quick beer recently and have to say how great the setup is here! My girlfriend and I, along with her sister and brother-in-law, enjoyed a lovely meal here. A friendly staff provided table service and maintained current covid restrictions. We all agreed it's a great place to visit, either for a couple of drinks, or for a nice meal.

Visited this great pub to get a good choice of beer( camera and Locale) plus wine. Really impressed with the detail attached to the ' test and trace' app and social distancing. The brilliant staff run around to offer table service even to the marquee in the garden. Novel means of ordering from outside. I've even booked in for the October theme night of ' Mussels' could be oversubscribed.

Great beers and lovely small pub. Unfortunately there is one rule for locals and another for outsiders when it comes to COVID. One guy walked in without a mask and was obviously not known by the bar staff, rightly so he was told to get out and he politely did and then came back in wearing a mask. Another chap walked in and was told not to go to the bar as it was strictly table service. Good stuff. However, 10 minutes later, the poor man was still waiting for a beer while a couple of dangerously drunk locals (obviously known to the staff) were stumbling around without masks ordering at the bar (which was strictly against the pub rules to everyone else) bumping into people and completely disregarding the rules set by the staff to any non local. Not a word was said to them. Funnily enough, the nice non locals soon left, leaving a only few ferociously drunk local weirdos shouting at everyone which made a nice pub feel uncomfortable for those of us left.

Multiple CAMRA awards on display for their beers, but we went for the food.The homemade steak pie is gorgeous and very generally portioned - even extra gravy! To get the best from this you should go there with a large appetite..Don't expext an extensive wine list, but do enjoy the beers. Very friendly service and excellent value for money.We have alrady booked our next visit.

We randomly came across this pub and it really is a hidden gem. A rustic traditional pub with lovely food. Our food came in a timely manner, was a good portion size and you could tell it had been made with a bit of love! 100% Will be recommending :)

We have been lucky enough to eat here three times recently and every meal has been excellent. We've tried the steak (my favourite), the ribs, the stir fry prawns and the steak and ale pie - and would recommend them all.They always carry an excellent range of real ales and ciders to accompany your meal too! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.

Just had two recent visits at a friends recommendation, it was a least 15+ years since I last visited. Lovely old English pub, very welcoming hosts. Excellent pub food with good size portions, great homemade steak and ale pie, sausages & mash, both served with vegetables of the day. A wide choice of ales. My wife and I decided to take advantage of the eat out to help out offer, and were keen to help a local family owned pub rather than one of the pub chains. We both had well kept beers which we know is a feature of the pub and were undecided as to whether to have a starter, but having visited before, decided to go straight to main courses which we knew were going to be filling. Beef and ale pie with mash and veg for me and barbecue spare ribs with corn, salad and chips for my wife. No complaints, excellent pie and ribs and very filling. All the food we saw come out of the kitchen looked excellent and good portions. Nice efficient service as well. Whilst we only paid £12-68 for the food (beer separately) we would be happy to full the menu prices and support in the future. Hopefully others who have taken advantage of the current offer will support pubs like this in the future once the offer ceases. We need to keep places like this going!

Perfect evening at The king of the Belgians greeted by polite staff and told about all social distancing and protocol in place. Sat in a cosy back restaurant and had a Beautiful Thai green curry and my partner a king prawn stir fry again great, definitely on my visit again pub. Great selection of Real ales on offer as well perfect.

I love this pub, they do a lot of regular events, as well as great food, and a friendly atmosphere. I live about 4 miles away, but will go out of my way to support them and the good work they do in the community. Saw a really bad review from way back in 2013, as the headline Trip Advisor review, and felt that this was not at all representative, so wanted to do my bit for the pub - it's a great village institution.

The building is really interesting and the landlady really friendly. Unfortunately the meals were a bit hit and miss. We were recommended the steak pie so 3 of our party of 5 chose this option. The pie looked good but why would you serve a hot dinner on freezing cold plates? The result was the meals became cold very quickly which was a shame. The pie itself wasn’t bad but the steak could have done with a bit longer cooking and more gravy would have made it less dry. We had great expectations because of other people’s reviews but felt the meals didn’t live up to those expectations

Visited the King of the Belgians recently for a catch up with colleagues. Great range of food on the menu and fantastic service. All our food was freshly cooked and served piping hot. Only downside is the limited parking.

Six of us had a Sunday meal, nice meals, Beef was very good roast potatoes were a bit hard as I think they were from lunch time, but every body else's was lovely. Staff very friendly, atmosphere was very good.

This is the best place to eat and drink in the area. Food is fresh made. The staff was great. The beer always good. Price was what you should expect for quality food. Eat there a few times on our stay and always great. Thank you for the good service.

First lunch outing in the New Year that ticked all the boxes! Convivial & cosy environment in this historic pub. Attentive, accomodating & friendly staff; food very good indeed. The Steak & Ale pie was to die for as was the Horseradish mash. Thoroughly recommended.

We had dinner for 5, my carrot and coriander soup was very good, as well as the sausages my relatives ordered. The decoration is very authentic and charming. Service was really nice. A place to come back to.

Typical mass production, starter (prawn cocktail) OK but lacked in presentation. Main (turkey) average, stuffing ball over cooked, sprouts barely cooked, more raw than al dente. Underwhelming portion although there was a reasonable amount of meat. Best part was dessert, (brandy snap basket) looked and tasted lovely.Considering all meals were preordered was surprised that some people were still waiting for food when some of us had already finished. Based on other recent reviews I think we caught an off day but I would think twice before returning.

We visited the restaurant for our works Christmas meal. The room was decorated for Christmas and was clean and looked very nice. There were 13 of us and we all got our starters, dinner, and pudding all together the food was hot and presented perfectly. I would highly recommend this place.

We've just moved our boat to the local marina, Hartford, and are exploring the area. This pub is a real find, it's old, quaint, has a lovely beer garden and is very dog-friendly. There's a good selection of real ales and an excellent range of pizzas. They also offer a pizza take away service, which is good to know - if we get to the boat late.

We went early in the evening but the public bar was already buzzing. Luckily there was a table free for a really great meal. Portions are generous and hot. We enjoyed excellent service at The King of The Belgians and will go again soon.

We are a gang of retired engineers/technicians who meet up occasionally to "Put the world to rights" and enjoy a good lunch. The KoB does us proud, excellent food, service, hospitality and a cracking atmosphere - well recommended to all - we will be visiting again!

This was my first visit to the King of the Belgians and after reading reviews my expectations were high. The pub is quaint and busy on a Sunday lunchtime - a decent selection of real ales was welcomed.

Had a party in the restaurant for my husband’s retirement. The food was excellent, with all 26 of us being served at the same time. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Have also eaten there several times as a couple or with friends. Always the same friendly service and superb food. Highly recommend whatever the occasion

The King of Belgians is a great little traditional, old boozer. The food was decent but I was hoping for a bit more, maybe my choice of filo prawns followed by fish and chips was an excessive amount of battery. Service was friendly and attentive and prices were reasonable.

We decided to go down memory lane with a visit to Huntingdon, a quick slide by our old house and for lunch at The King. The internal layout has changed somewhat - gone are the old benches around the room - but the ambience remains the same and it was as though we'd been there only the previous week. I'm pretty certain that the currency notes above the bar are all the same ones too! Food was excellent (gammon for one and burger for the other) and excellent value. Mine Host was extremely pleasant and gave us the history of the place since we left the area; service was great. All in all, highly recommended!

This is a small, old, low-ceiling-ed building in the centre of the village of Hartford, close to the A1. It’s clearly a destination pub for real ale aficionados as the packed bar on a Sunday lunchtime, and multiple CAMRA awards, attest.

What a great place for a Sunday roast.I know a lot of people go to carvery,s etc but the standard of food here was excellent,great service from this small but very friendly pub staff attentive but not hovering over your table will certainly be returning thanks again

After a walk along the river we found the pub. A lovely place with very friendly staff and locals. Sat in the dog friendly garden plus they have a dog friendly bar. Although we didn’t eat the food looked good. Had a few local ciders. A lovely place for a relaxing afternoon before a walk back to Huntingdon.

Sat night ,Highly recommend the ribs in bbq sauce, steak was slightly overdone but the dessert more than made up for it. The staff could have been friendlier however and it’s worth noting the kitchen closes at 9.

Called in as part of a group - a couple of dozen of us on a bike tour, but this many turning up unannounced did not faze anyone. All served in good time and staff happy to help.

Friends come here regularly for Sunday lunch as it's dog friendly which suits them. Today we went with them and enjoyed our lunch in this small and traditional pub. It has a nice ambience and good curb appeal from the outside. There is on road parking outside. The menu is quite extensive and we all ordered and enjoyed good portions of decent food. One remarked there wasn't enough mash with his bangers! My Halloumi could have done with some herbs but it was a nice meal on the whole.
