Khyber Grill in Barking and Dagenham

Food was ok, i was there with my family, my two kids talking each other and playing but they didn’t run or nothing done anything wrong, how comes waitress came and shouted them. and she always came to us make us distracted and feel us awkward. I didn’t say anything to her because some guests was with us. Very disappointed.

We have been to both branches previously, service has always been a problem but atleast food used to be bit reasonable. Really bad experience, lamb karahi was below average and I don't think it was half a kg either as 1/2kg is more than enough for 2 and it has more sauce than meat, it was pre-cooked was not fresh. Masala fish was fried in basan batter, and kabli pulao was cold, really dry, even the meat was dry which just tells it was not freshly made. Chapli kabab was not fresh either, tasted like they were re fried. We normally go to Ilford lane branch but thought to try green lane branch which appears have better reviews. Very disappointed as we came all the way from Kent. This was the quality on weekend.

Very good food and service. Top class grilled items and never miss their Lemon soda mock tail. Lovely service.

The worst chiken kadai I ever had . Price is so high if we compare with other . curry was just like sweet curry. I called the restaurant and told them that curry wasn’t good and they just said ok 🤣🤣!!! I won’t go there again.

Very bad n very expensive not worth the money

Food was delicious with reasonable price, as well as their service was very nice.One of the guy name Wasif served us. He was very friendly and welcoming. We will go back again. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I wish there was a choice of zero stars and I would have given that. Took a friend to this restaurant to give a dinner treat, extremely disappointed with the food and price. I don't know why there are these good reviews. Asked about boneless lamb karahi and it wasn't available, ordered chicken karahi boneless and it was the worst I ever had in the UK. I have had better karahis in the UK for £10 than this one which cost me nearly £27 and it wasn't worth it. Felt so ashamed in front of my friend. Never coming back here again. I'll make sure to spread the word. 😞

Extreme disappointment. Poor quality. Burnt fries. Poor taste. Just put half fried chicken cubes in gravy and served as karahi . Worst experience in UK. don't waste money. 4.3 rating on Google only seems to be from own friends and mates favor. Can't be more than 2 stars

Nice restaurant , fantastic food

Food was good but the treatment of one member of staff was awful. At the end of my meal, I ordered some takeaway while I and my friend sat waiting for the takeaway at the table. After about half an hour with no news, I went to the counter to find out the takeaway was sitting there at the counter all the time getting cold and they hadn’t bothered to tell us that it was ready. When I politely suggested to them that they could have told me it was ready they began to argue with me saying that I didn’t tell them to tell me, as though it was my responsibility and not theirs. When I tried to explain that they could simply haven’t told me that the food is ready, they carried on arguing with me so I just gave up. Staff need some training on Customer Service and attitude.

I ordered take away for kabuki pulao & lamb karahi, The rice pulao portion was insufficient, the box was half & not full. The Karahi was full of bones & hardly any meat in it.

Brilliant and authentic Pushtun/Shinwari food. Lamb Charsi Karahi stole the show and Chapli Kebabs were some of the best I have had. Amazing taste and food quality all round. All food is fresh and 100% halal. Chicken Karahi was just ok but other menu item were pure brilliance. The fresh afghani naans keep coming fresh from the tandoor. Staff is courteous and keeps an eye out for service. Highly recommended.

Thierry lamb chops were amazing

Incredible authentic Afghani and Pakistani food. The lamb sajji has to be ordered a day before because it is slow-cooked and is worth every second of wait and every penny. I can't recommend it enough. The Chapli kebabs and lamb keema are also 10/10.

Absolutely Garbage, bland tasteless food. Horrible atmosphere, no music. Only the naan bread was good and the can drinks are 99p. Never again

“I had a highly disappointing experience at this restaurant. After our food was served, the staff started cleaning the floor, causing dust and debris to land on our food. When we politely pointed out the hygiene concern, they not only refused to stop but also began arguing without reason. What was even more disrespectful was that they started laughing and conversing in their own language while we were trying to address a legitimate issue. Due to their complete disregard for our concerns and the unhygienic conditions, we had no choice but to leave the restaurant within just 15 minutes of our arrival. I strongly advise against dining at this establishment, as our experience was far from satisfactory."

Best Chaplee Kebab in London am going last 11 year

I just tried their Balochi Chicken Saji & it was awesome. Good portion size & taste is also good. Price is reasonable for takeaway. I will definitely try more of their dishes soon.

Good quality food with the right amount of spice. They also have good variety of delicious foods. Chapli kababs and Afghani nan are their specialities. I especially liked the lamb namak Mandi karahi and charsi karahi.

The food was delicious! Their masala fish was amazing, we ended up ordering another portion and both my kids loved it. Chaplin kebab was so tasty and their chicken karahi was so yum! Only thing I wasn't too happy about was their prices, a bit much in my opinion. Customer service was ok too. Nice family restaurant

Came to have dinner with my in-laws following Shehwar & Maria's youtube review, but it was the worst experience. Firstly, the place is overcrowded and children's are screaming continuously. Secondly, I tried several variations of kebab and curries but didn't find it tasty at all. Also, they forgot to give one naan but didn't forget to bill it. Finally, one of the rice had turned, once confronted they did changed it though. Basically, it's the worst experience, and I will never come or recommend anyone. I have nothing against them, its just what I have experienced.

This place is the best if you want an authentic Pakistani/Afghani Cuisine.Their food is banging. Favours/spice spot on.Sajji was amazing just the way I like it and generous portions sizes. Friendly staff and excellent customer service. The chapali kebab with Peshwari naan was lovely and very filling. Then to top it off, we had great Tea! So full Allhumdullilah Thank u sooo muchhh

Absolutely brilliant, very delicious food. Top 2 I would highly recommend to try charsi karahi and chapli kebab.

This is one of my favourite restaurants because the food is freshly cooked and tasty and the prices reasonable. Apart from the grills, the Chapli kebab is succulent and tasty, and the vegetable curry is another favourite, having a sweeter and different spice base compared to regular curries.

A very average place. Ordered Charsi Lamb karahi to collect on my way to London. Meat was badly cut and they served mostly bones in the dish. There was nothing Karahi like in there. It felt like meat was tenderised in a pressure cooker and then cooked for five minutes in sweet tomato paste. I specifically asked for spicy and they gave me the most sweet karahi I’ve ever had. Needless to say I will neither be returning nor recommending this restaurant. £30 down the drain.

I have been going to kyber grill Green lane for a very long time. And every time I go with friends or family the customer service is top notch and food is amazing. From chicken karahi to kebab karahi, Charsi tikka everything is on point. Their salad and sauces are always fresh. Food is served with a smile at all time. Will continues to go there again and again.

I have been here a lot of times and the food here never disappoints! Ambiance is sub par but they’re not known for that anyway! My favorites are chicken karahi, kabuli pulao & their peshawari chapali kebabs!

Sauces tasted of liquid and the waiter didn’t even care when we told him. Meat quality was not great. I would not return.

I have a love hate relationship with this place. The food is so good I order to much get too full then feel sick and say I'll never be back. Then when I'm hungry all I can think of is the lamb namak mandhi and naan....is this what being a addict feels like?

Food is absolutely awesome. Chapli kebab delicious lamb namak handhi mouth watering. Naan really well prepared. Everything was fresh. Brilliant experience goid value for money. By far the best afghani place ive eaten at.

So disappointing! There was 8 of us and not one person said anything positive about the food. I have eaten plenty of Afghan food in other restaurants and this by far is the worst. We ordered different platters, curries and everything was bland. Even the kebabs were bland, the chicken and lamb curry looked nice but tasteless. The only item that tasted as it should was the Nan bread. Never again, waste of money. Service was poor, we had to constantly call the waiter to get their attention. Even when it came to paying the bill. Honestly, go somewhere else if you enjoy authentic Afghan cuisine. I am writing this review on behalf of 8 people that eat out in different restaurants.

The quality of meat was very poor despite extortionate prices. Our bill was over £200, and one would expect the quality of meat to be good at least. For the 3rd time in a row (or more i think), they were taking only cash. Plus, all these times when they were requested for qahwa, they never served it. If you go to any Turkish or other Afghani place, they serve you qawa or Turkish tea even if you spend £20 there. Despite spending over £200, they don't serve any tea nor accept card payment. Overall, very disappointing experience. Will be very reluctant in coming here again future.

Had the Mixed Grill Special and it was so delicious and fresh. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The decoration is nice had the Afghan feel to it.

Visited yesterday and we are very unwell today. Its a busy place, so you expect that everything is freshly made to order, but it was off. It was as if the food had been left out and reheated too many times. Will not be returning.

It had been a great environment there had been a rush but they had handled it so well. They had been so kind and lovely. I would come here every week if I could! It had been fully halal which was great.

The Khyber grill visit for iftari was awesome. The services they provided were satisfactory, food was fresh, hygienic and tasty. I will love to visit it again and again.

Ordered lamb charsi tikka and chapli kebab for starters, and both were very tasty. I particularly enjoyed the chapli kebab and would recommend. My husband is from Pakistan and is always looking for perfect tasting meat, and he enjoyed the lamb charsi tikka. For mains, we had the lamb charsi karahi which my husband found good. We had dhood pati afterwards but that wasn't too great. We both would recommend everyone to try the food here for a relaxed evening! Price is reasonable.

The food here taste just like back in home i.e. KPK, Pakistan. That means, the best food you'll get in all of Dagenham & Ilford. Public message: Pashtun cuisine is highly competitive to Turkish cuisine. There are so many similar dishes with a bit different taste but it's still hard to tell which one is better.

I have visited once and foud it good. Food. You only go for the food to restaurant if it less than 5 star i found it to be waste of money. But here taste was right but I saw waiters just standing there watching poeple. Its ok that they are available but foud it to be odd.
