Kfc in Dumfries & Galloway

Popped in last night for a quick tea, very cold frosty evening outside but was absolutely freezing inside KFC, never felt so cold indoors

Staying up the road in a hotel passed the Kentucky on way, popped in and had the best chicken fillet meal I’ve had in ages my wife said the same thing. Really nice fillet tower box meal with hot wings and all I can say is the food and the service was excellent staff updated customers about there order and the place was spotless with the tables being cleaned on a regular basis Well managed and good team work, there’s a lot of effort going in to get the food and service to a high standard I can see there’s been issues n the past but this is a honest review, the place has been upgraded with new decor and it seems there’s a bright future for this outlet

Ordered home delivery. Followed delivery driver on app. Delivery was scheduled for 1750-1815. On map time changed several times and eventually order arrived at 1835! Not only was it with driver for at least 30mins according to app it was cold and totally inedible !!! Reviewed on KFC website. Would not recommend it if you want your food hot and ready to eat. Was completely waste of money.

Stopped at this drive thru Sunday 13th November at 8.15pm. Ordered 3 x meal deals. Fast food wasn't 'fast" Waited in pick up parking Food delivered to car Drove off to continue our journey only to discover cold food, no sides, no dips, no napkins or cutlery!!! Utter waste of money This place is a disgrace!!!!

We’ve attended this restaurant a few times recently both collection and sit in. The service has been excellent and the staff all really helpful and considerate. The restaurant has been clean and the food really good!

Absolutely shocking, waited 10 minutes, plenty of staff all hiding in the kitchen. Just kept having a look from the kitchen and ignoring people waiting to order. Not particularly clean either. The complete opposite of fast food, best avoided, left without getting served.

Went in here for quickness as the other fast food place was full, the only other people in this place was a family of 4 at 6pm on a Saturday.........says it all. I Ordered our meal and I specifically asked for 1 pepsi and 1 Pepsi max, when we got the order I asked which drink was the low sugar one and was told that they are both pepsi max.....terrible service. We then tried to find a clean table which was almost impossible as they were all ring marks and crumbs, totally disgusting. When we ate our meal we watched all of the staff behind the counter carrying on and having a laugh, the place was filthy with dirty tables and food on the floor. They have a poster in the window looking for new staff.......it should read. If you have no customer service skills, hate cleaning, love having a laugh with like minded people...........please apply within.

Arrived and ordered food at 7:46pm after 5 minutes woman comes in to complain about shortage in her order. At this time i see my order on the pass. She then is told she will get her order replaced what was her order, it just so happened she had ordered the same as me. So they took my order, just as a member of staff was going to get it for me, and gave it to her. I then had to wait as they replaced my order, i complained about this and was told that she was a complaint and that her order was in before mine and it was not my order waiting. Strange she had to ask what her order was before seeing mine and taking it. After i complained about what had happened she went through the back and what i can only assume was the manager came through and instead of apologising he to said it was a complaint he was rectifying and took president, then walked away i then said i had watched everything from start to finish and all you have done is show no customer care all he had to do was say sorry for your wait and explain but no they made it out that I was an idiot and did not see my order, a member of staff rekey the womans order after her complaint and the woman arrive just as it hit the pass . She obviously was more disparaging than me and required quieting. Now he has two complaints and even a member of staff agreed with me and apologised to me as I left. Sorry but I wont be back and just to cap it all the receipts that you get do not have the required information to fill in the KFC survey is this by design I will let you make up your own minds on that one

Awful staff! Awful food! Staff closed the store early when we were walking towards the store! Lazy staff! Previous visits have been awful food compared to other KFC’s! Would definitely avoid!

Drive thru took ages aNd order wrong. Went to loo inside. Dirty. No loo roll in ladies. All 3 soap dispensers empty. Filthy. Bins overflowing. Won t be returning.

The service is so slow the drive through is a joke.snail pace you have to wait for ages to order then same again to receive your order Half the time the food you get is cold and very greasy. Dont waste your time or money.

Thought I'd post an updated review as I have returned to KFC in the last few weeks and I've got to say each time I was pleasantly surprised, food really good & orders correct. I don't know if there has been a change of management, team or if the seating area being closed has helped improve service, but I've been pleased with my last few visits, keep it up👍🏻

Second week in a row we didn't get all the food we ordered. Reading the reviews it seems like it is a deliberate policy.

Ordered from here through Uber eats. KFC forgot to pack part of my meal. Told me I could fetch it myself or claim refund through Uber! I can’t drive hence used Uber and can’t eat refund! Manager was disinterested and unhelpful and unwilling to put right THEIR mistake! Don’t go here if you can help it! I certainly won’t be back!

KFC Dumfries is the worst.. orders majority of the time are wrong. Some of the younger staff are very unprofessional. The KFC Dumfries branch has been like this for years.

Left 10 minutes ago having arrived at the drive thru window to be told that they had decided to close at 6pm. When it was pointed out it was before 6pm they said they are not bothered. Drive on so the queue will disperse.

It's been a while since we ate at any of the KFC establishments and due to us running out of time in Dumfries we decided to go for a 'Drive Through' and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the service....

Shocking visit to KFC Dumfries, drove through for convenience only to be told they had no chicken! A KFC with no chicken so could we wait 15 minutes. We did! However after 25 minutes we seen the car waiting behind us recieve their order.Who arrived...

The staff were friendly, the food was fresh and hot, the serving was good. It was as expected and just like in Australia.

My neighbour has a dog and a mobility scooter she went to the drive in because she knew that dog's are not allowed in the premises and to be told it's cars only this is totally unacceptable and disrespectful and she is a pensioner so...

Greasy chicken, bite into it and the grease ran down my chin. The soggy coating which should be crisp and crunchy was anything but. all soggy and limp again fulll of grease. and then there’s the chips, skin on was nice but again on the soft side.. also Little in the way of accompaniments, two napkins to soak up all the grease was inadequate, I guess I could have asked for more but why can’t I help myself?. Want a milkshake.? Or an ice cream... forget it. The machine is broken AGAIN. Last time I was there it was not working and that was almost a year ago. It may have been working in the meantime but I guess it hasn’t. All in all quite disappointing and underwhelming.

While passing through we stopped in for a quick meal. The meal was fresh and hot what more can you say. But they had run out of salt this branch is the middle of a large retail park why could someone not go to one of the many shops within a few yards and buy some, just to keep the customers happy.

Title says it all, Bought a 10 piece bucket, only got 6 pieces. I supposed I should have checked it but really, how hard is it?

Having used KFC in a number of locations though I would try Dumfries for first time. It was filthy with sticky flooring tables all dirtyour and a number had left rubbish on them. The bins inside the building overflowing with garbage. The KFC only had a few customers and plenty Staff on shift simply lack of supervision. Food was poor and definitely worst I have had simply down i think that cooking oil required changing. However if supervisor can't be bothered keeping restaurant clean then the out of sight work surfaces will be well dirty. Went too use gents toilet before leaving absolutely filth glad I was standing at a dirty urinals as you would not wish too sit on the toilets. Only plusses was the young lady who served us.

After a visit from West Cumbria to Dumfries ice bowl with my friends, we decided to visit our favourite fast food - KFC.

Went here 5th Feb at 12pm for a mega box it was awful no taste boring & didn't look fresh at all looked like it was left overs from the night before couldn't eat all of it. it was disgusting. also i've had bad stomach-ache since having the KFC today.

Had the grace to call up 45 minuets before to order the 14 piece party bucket as knew it was a big order and had read reviews about the wait, they were very thankful that we phoned ahead! On arrival there was still a 30 minuet wait! What a joke of a place if been to faster funerals!! Brings shame to the kfc name, apon writing this I’m STILL waiting for food!

Don't know what this kfc is all about, slowest service and food going! Defo need more staff and better training

Where do i start?Everytime i visit here the service gets worse and worse!Firstly had to wait 5 minutes for someone to take our order.From ordering food to eating took half an hour and this is supposed to be fast food?I am surprised there was not a riot with all the pissed off people waiting for their food.When the food finally arrived it was wrong.The gravy was cold,same with the chips,chicken was dry,drink was basically water as the ice had melted.2 items were missing altogether.This place is run by people who don't care about customer service at all.I will be avoiding this place in future.

Came here for tea with family. Drove through drive through. To sit for 10mins. Then asked to park in waiting bay. Waited further 20 mins for food. Then not right order so had to go in to shop. So was no point going through drive through. When approaching staff to say would prefer order to be right hence going through drive through. His response was shrug of the shoulder as if he did not care. Really poor customer service. Also chicken over cooked and not up to much at all

This place needs shut down!! Waited 30min in a que then to be told to park for a further 20min by this point my husband went in as my kids were fed up and bored! Fast food? Drive through? POINTLESS! Then once we had got our meals which my husband had to actually go in and collect they were wrong!!!!!!!! I’m sure the majority of people working in here have been chucked in from the dole que by the job centre! Cheeky gormless dirty rude arrogant staff! We never received a apology or nothing! I’ve also contacted kfc themselves! I’d rather eat raw chicken from a skip then go near kfc again!!!!

I don't visit this KFC very often [but it is my local one] but after this visit i won't be back. 15 min wait in a queue [fast food!] - ordered a bucket for two people [6 pieces] but received a box for one and one drink. The coating round the three pieces of chicken was soft not crispy, The extra corn was over cooked and tasted awful.

Marvellous helpful slightly anxious staff serving at desk. BUT 20 minute wait for chicken on the bone is ridiculous at 6.30 in the evening. It's about the third time this has happened in the last 6 months. Reason was given as only one staff member in whi could cook the chicken. Surely they can cook more or prepare more.

A lengthy detour, sadly due to two fatal accidents on two separate roads saw us in Dumfries when we should have been at our Lanark hotel for dinner.

Kfc Dumfries is terrible to say the least. The service, the food, the lack of team work that it takes for a fast food restaurant to run. It's utterly embarrassing.

Been several times before, but this was below average visit. Sign up saying they would not be open till 11.30am instead of usual 11.00am, no staff on view to begin with and only one girl doing everything as far as I could see, chicken was fine but chips half cooked and greasy, could not get coke in carton as mechanic working on machine, after keeping us waiting for 5 minutes they gave us bottle of coke instead. They are advertising for staff in window so lets hope things get better.

Have visited this establishment twice this year and both times have been ruined by the same 2 cheeky wee fannies running riot in the place. These 2 boys must only be 10 years old and they began by insulting the customers and throwing rubbish at them, followed by opening up handfuls of salt packets and pouring all over the tables. Then walking across the tables and chairs and riding their scooters into the walls and tables. The staff did absolutely nothing. This is clearly a common occurrence as its the same 2 boys. The staff on the front counter are all clearly inexperienced and quite young so did not want the confrontation. Other than that our dinner was standard fast food, quite enjoyable after the wee fannies had left

The food is not always cooked properly. Wich is not good when your dealing with chicken.staff are varied. Depends who you get on the day. Bit hit and miss.

Used to be OK (good for a fast food place), but now a shadow of its old self (complacency? - the only one in town)

Visited the venue just after lunchtime. Staff all very friendly and helpful. The food was really good and the extra sides went down well. As usual great value for money.

The food is usually good but the store is extremely under-staffed. It's supposed to be a fast food chain and you are waiting around 10 mins for your food. I'm not sure if they're struggling to recruit or just trying to save money.

Went to KFC with my husband and grandsons, had a long wait for our food and when it finally arrived it was lukewarm and not at all enjoyable, there was no napkins available, air conditioning was on so the place was cold, tables needed cleared and cleaned, floor needed swept and the toilets were stinking, won't ever be back it's the worst KFC I've ever been in, certainly wouldn't recommend , very poor management

This must be the slowest KFC on the planet,KFC never ready and it doesnt get time to get rid of the grease out the frier straight into the packaging.The place stinks of grease tables not cleared and bins overflowing outside.Been a few times orders are usualy wrong in an emergency but I wouldnt bet on good service I have reported it twice for bad customer relations slow service and greasy food not typicle of the usual high standards of KFC.Come on guys get a grip

Never enough staff, food sits for ages, dried out chicken, hair in food, getting orders wrong, car park bins overflowing, dirty tables, just some of the experiences I've had at this KFC!!Drive down to Gretna services if you want a KFC!!

We visited about 2pm in a Sunday and the place was busy but there were very few staff and the food took a loong time to come!

My family and my self now travel to Gretna motorway services to get our KFC cravings satisfied, it's worth the trip as dumfries branch doesn't know what it's doing at all from service to food.

We don't like the McDonald's nearby - so we went thro their drive-thro - bought our cappuccino and then came to KFC!!Our experience wasn't a good one. The food wasn't very hot and the service was slow. We took some of our food back - and had to wait - again - to be seen. The site was a bit grubby and the outside bins were overflowing. Not a biggie - but there seem to be regional variations in what is served!! My wife had a rice box which was smothered in dressing - whereas on Merseyside you get coleslaw but no dressing. Also there wasn't much rice in her box - it was mainly lettuce!!I know a fast food outlet is just that - a fast food outlet - but this - realistically - is one to avoid!!

Been here twice and both times food was hot and place was kept clean,most of staff are good,couple of one's who look like don't want to be there.

I don't know what's happened to this kfc in Dumfries but seems to have went down hill my meal was cold and the popcorn chicken tasted burnt

Went as tired as had been shops for few bits, food was hot and fresh, place looked clean and organised, staff were friendly enough, they didn't have chicken pops to go with meal so they offered me extra side instead.

Dunno what's going on but it's went down hill and the chicken just didn't taste as good as the one at Gretna won't be back will use Gretna when fancy a kfc

this was the worst experience I've ever had in a fast food restraunt...and I've sampled a few in my time....due to the bins being full people had just left there left over food as near to the bin as they could which was looking like a rubbish dump....the floor also looked like it hadn't been swept all day...the service was sooooo slow I expected my food to lovely and fresh but what we got was greasy chicken which we sent back...the staff were great and gave us a full refund....but the food and surroundings were horrendous

Ordered through drive thru and the chicken was banging hot. Staff were pleasant and even gave our dog a cup of water although I think she would have rathered the chicken

Had cause to visit this outlet whilst on family holiday recently and was utterly flabbergasted at the sheer level of unprofessionalism, extreme poor hygiene and lack of interest displayed by the staff.The restaurant floor both in front & behind the counter was absolutely disgusting. The staff members that came out from the kitchen area were completely covered in food residues and seasonings, their uniforms mostly didn't fit so various body parts were exposed.How is the outlet allowed to still trade? Utterly disgusted with every aspect of our visit & under NO circumstances will we ever consider returning.

Been in this restaurant twice over the last few years and both times the food was Ok but the service and cleanliness was a let down. If I was a KFC inspector I would shut this place down. Restaurant was very dirty with loads of tables not cleaned and food lying all over the floor and it was very off putting. There was also quite a wait to be served despite it not being very busy during my visit and when I left the food was still lying all over the place.

Was there the other day with my son (3) and his nan, although the food isnt bad one of the staff where horrible making it an unpleasant experience for both customers and other staff members, the person in particular is a older guy 40/50 large built and has a squint eye instead of talking to staff and customers he shouts at the top of his voice when there is really no need, he also brought down a few staff members humiliating them in front of customers "i can do this quicker and better than you" etc there is currently a job with kfc advertised which im not surprised with as the queue was always to the door due to slow service i would however apply as i am currently looking for work but seeing how staff are treated i think i'll pass!!

it would be helpful if staff were to speak English...the girl who served us was trying to tell us (we later found out!) that there wasn't enough of one sort of chicken left, did we want to replace it with popcorn chicken. But her English wasn't good enough and she'd to get a colleague to translate - ridiculous! Tables were dirty, the bins in the car park had grossly overflown and there was rubbish strewn all over the place. All in all, I got the impression that the place needed a damn good clean. Won't be visiting here again!

KFC is KFC right? Not with this one. They got our food order wrong (zingers rather than fillets) . The staff have an inquest, claim it was ordered wrong - despite the receipt in my hand showing otherwise. They eventually replace half the order, and after a further delay the whole order. However my main concern is the hygiene. The toilets were filthy. The dinning area was filthy. And not with recent mess, but longer term problems. Avoid, try somewhere, anywhere else instead.

Visited on Sunday lunch time ,really busy and there was a long queue behind us ,could just see one person behind the till and he was trying his best to be quick but obviously he needed more than two hands to be able to serve everyone ,there was another staff who was doing cleaning jobs on the floor and helping behind the till if he could .Waited like 20 minutes just to get an Ice Cream

Confused about the bad feedback by others as most of the time I have had no problems and if there is I just let them know and they sort no problem. Any establishment has bad days occasionally,but this kfc is usually consistent with good quality and I have never had a problem with staff. I don't normally review chain fast food outlets. So why would I review this one? It serves the same as the rest. It's laid out the same as the rest. It's the same quality food as the rest.But today it breached the Trade Descriptions Act. There is no definition of the word "fast" that could be applied to it.Now, this may not bother you. Long waits for fast food may be acceptable to you. But not to me. I use a fast food outlet because I'm in a hurry. If I wanted to queue I'd try to get in somewhere else.And it also makes this casual consumer ask one question: If they can't staff it appropriately at lunch time, what else are they cutting corners on?

i will never eat from here again its disgusting its went down hill rapidly i urge management to make changes and big changes quick

Customer service is terrible, so under staffed. Toilets were discusting floors and tables not cleaned. Only reason for the 3 circles is because the food was decent.

Not a regular KFC customer but this is a regular body-fuel stop on the way to Ireland and back over years. Just refurbished. Total waste of money if you cannot operate the place properly. It has never been good but now it is worse!!! Took forever to get served and it is not busy. 15 minutes to order and get a box of mini-fillets - and this is meant to be "fast food"!!Cannot tell if managed or franchise. The food is standard KFC so that needs no thought. Desperately needs training and more staff - lose the management.

Chose to go through the drive thru and once ordered the drinks passed to us were wrong drinks so had to get them changed, then once parked in carpark opened up my box meal to discover I had beans instead of gravy. For me this is a cardinal sin. Its in a clear container for christ sake. So drove back round drive thru and asked to get my gravy and it was almost as if the girl knew shed done it . This has happened to me probaly 6 out of 10 times ive ate here and makes me sick. There is a few of thw staff who are good and go out of their way but this girl must have been hungover or something

Been a couple of times the bins are always overflowing with rubbish. Menu boards in drive through are non existing, you just have to guess what to order. It took 10 minutes before my order was even taken and that's when there was no queue. Avoid I you want "fast food"

Went in and almost slipped on the greasy floor, wasnt just a small bit, was the whole floor! Rubbish lying all over the floor, tables and seats filthy, only 2 tables of customers and staff standing about!! No atmosphere whatsoever, didn't even eat as just about turned and went to McDonald's! Won't ever go back! Disgrace!!

Waited half hour for drive through so parked up and then waited while the staff had arguments with each other about the length of wait despite not very many customers! Never going back it was a disgrace!!!

The food in this outlet is far below par. Every time I go to KFC I am left with a very bad sore tummy as I feel like the food is under cooked. Very expensive for a few fries and you can barley understand what the staff are on about. McDonalds is far better!!!

Like many others KFC’s, the Dumfries branch is no different from other outlets of the same name. Their menu has the same generic meals offering a variety of chicken portions, fries, side orders of coleslaw or beans and ice cream sundaes.Situated on the outskirts of Dumfries in the Cuckoo Bridge Retail Park, the restaurant is clean and tidy and offer the option to drive thru rather than sit inside. When I was there someone vandalized the gents toilet, pulling the soap dispenser off the wall. I reported this the the counter staff who very efficiently and promptly dealt with the situation. A big well done to the lady in question.
