No more cups and saucers or teapots or cutlery. Compostable plates and cutlery. Two choices of main course pasta, in a paper pot with goats cheese £8 or a bagel with bread and red onion in a paper bag £7. Instant coffee in paper cup £2.50 per cup. Certainly NOT worth the walk

Lovely little hidden gem 💎. We decided on a family trip to Kerrera to visit the Tea Garden and the Castle. We were certainly not disappointed! Although it was quite a walk to get to the Tea Garden (the kids were a tad moany) it was a beautiful scenic walk, quirky signposts and well worth the walk. The staff at the Tea Garden were lovely, friendly and very welcoming, as it was a hot day we only had cake and coffee and ice lollies for the kids but it was all lovely and very reasonable. As a vegetarian family we were pleased to see lots of options suited to us and the homemafe lemon drizzle was amazing! We are all looking forward to a return visit (even the kids!) and next time we will definitely be having lunch 😊

A wonderful little place on a lovely little island! Great food, although not a huge menu. No decaf coffee :( Impressive set up for COVID - outdoor seating, marquee, fast contactless service. Really lovely staff. The soups were fantastic. Thank you.

We were staying in Oban and decided to head over to Kerrera island to explore for the day. We had the best surprise when this little cabin opened up for brunch/lunch after our walk to the castle (stunning as well) and we had the best lentil soup with fresh bread and real butter of the trip!!!! Next time we're coming to stay in this same place as I believe they have several rooms to stay the night. We also had tea and cakes and they were superb! Really lovely and quick service and I can't wait to go back!

Those teapots...reminded me of Alice in Wonderland...good service and wholesome food exactly what one needs after a fairly long walk...from the Marina...rather than the ferry and to set one up for the return.

Bediening was heel vriendelijk.

Took the ferry across to the little island. Had a lovely couple of miles walk to bunkhouse tea room. The menu was very limited, though I do understand this given their location and the availability of fresh ingredients. However as one of the few things on the menu was lentil soup I had an expectation that this would be really good but sadly it was just ok. It wasn't even properly hot. The service was just ok too. Whilst the girl was polite and efficient, she wasn't particularly warm and friendly and we just didn't feel that welcome. It's a pity because this could be such an amazing experience. That said, for anyone who hasn't been, it's still worth the trip for the scenery.

During a recent stay in Oban I visited Kerrera and I am so glad I did. I fell in love with this island. The scenery is amazing and it is so peaceful it is idyllic. I did a circular walk that I had seen about which took3 to 4 hours. The tea room was on route and nicely sign posted to encourage me to keep going. It was a lovely day so I had tea and carrot cake outside in the garden which I thoroughly enjoyed. I would love to go back sometime and spend more time on the island and of course visit the tea room

Stunning location, unique ambience and great food/ drink. Have not tasted better chocolate brownies than Aideen's and Martin's soup went down a treat. Worth the 450 mile journey from home in itself 😊

Felicidad

If in the area, and you enjoy a walk a visit to Kerrara is a must. A very short ferry ride and the island awaits. The tea garden is a 2 mile walk from the ferry. If heading clockwise the route is fairly accessible and would be doable with a buggy. The rest of the 6 mile route most certainly is not. A warm welcome and a proper cup of tea await, along with very good home cooked food and AMAZING cake.

We spent a day walking on Kerrera, only a 5 minute ferry ride and less than 5 GBP from Oban. Weather was glorious , no visitors cars on Kerrera , we were told it was a 2 mile walk to the tea garden It's well worth the effort ! We sat in the garden with a view over the bay , there are indoor seats available when the weather is in a bad mood Warm friendly service , delicious coffee and food , including home made soup. Definitely the best lunch of a two week holiday , very warmly recommended , it's a delightful place .....

Lugar encantador.

We decided to take the anticlockwise route round Kerrara so by the time we reached the Tea Garden (about 4 miles) we were very ready for lunch! All the tables outside were taken but we were told we could either perch on a stone wall or go into the Byre; we did the latter and it's just lovely, fantastic 'slumpy' sofas and armchairs, very comfortable indeed. We both had the excellent Tuna Melts then found room for homemade cake - Lemon Drizzle for OH and a first for me, Cherry Bakewell Cake, which was also superb. Kerrara is a lovely little island and if I'm lucky enough to be up in this area again I'll be making a bee-line for the Tea Garden. Great, friendly service too :)

We are wild life enthusiasts and my partner is a keen photographer. This was our first trip to Kerrera. What a beautiful, tranquil island. The Tea Garden is about a 2 1/2 mile walk from the ferry, but it is a picturesque walk and a perfect way to work up an appetite! The young couple who have recently taken over the business were lovely, very warm and friendly. The young man makes the savouries - pea and ham soup was truly delicious, and the young lady is the baker - her chocolate, orange and courgette cake was heavenly! They clearly work very hard and we wish them all the best in their new venture. What topped the experience was sharing with them a view of a golden eagle passing over head - perfect! The tea room is situated on the clockwise route around the island and is about 2 miles in, near the castle. Kerrara is stunning and a 5min ferry trip there is well worth it. The tea room is not cheap but they do have the monopoly. All home made food and cake in a stunning setting. If you are energetic enough to carry on the clockwise route and you will be greeted with views of Mull mountain range and Ben Nevis on a clear day. This was one of my highlights of my holiday a hidden Gem! You must also go to the castle which Turner was taken with...

I call it Debbie's place - you'll know it when you see it! - said several of the locals on Islay. A large group of us visiting the island had spent the morning dotted across it doing various different activities. I'd asked in the brilliant Islay Natural History Trust where locally we could grab lunch and was directed to the Bruichladdich Mini Market. The place itself is run by Debbie, her mum and her sister. It's the ort of place that is the lifeblood of islands the world over - half grocery shop, half cafe - all welcoming. Debbie's sister was in charge when a group of 15 of us rocked up unannounced. This would normally not have been a problem - plenty of outside seating - but that particular day the ferry had been cancelled, along with much of the stock for the shop and cafe. Undeterred the staff there made us feel welcome and pulled together a lunch which went down very well with all - children and adults alike. Think sandwiches and toasties with great coffee and a good choice of cold drinks. They also serve some amazing cakes - I'm told the rocky road was fab, I know the chocolate cake was! Although initially under pressure when we all turned up, the staff seated us happily and we had all eaten within about 15 minutes of arriving.

Visited to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The setting on the shore of Loch Fyne overlooking the ruin of Castle Lachlan is stunning and we were able to enjoy a bottle of fizz outside our shepherds huts where we would be spending the night. After a late afternoon stroll to the castle ruins we were ready for our dinner. The tasting menu served in the evening is locally sourced and is probably the best I have ever tasted. We chose the wine pairing which was excellent and presented beautifully. After a great nights sleep breakfast is delivered to your accommodation and this is another delight. Cannot fault this place
