Kelly's Chips in Aberdeenshire

Crispy battered Haddock n Chips Yum Yum fat tum. Future golf trips will be using Freddies in Banff rather than Wetherspoons in Fraserburgh. I usually send an e-mail review of our golf trips including best and worst Golf Courses and best and worst food to all places we visit. Unfortunately I cant find Freddies e-mail to tell them they were voted the best.

Nice fresh made take away food at a good price, nice staff. Always go there for my fish and chips, try the Stornaway black pudding. I can certainly recommend it if you are in the area. There is a small seating area if you want to dine in.

Arrived in Banff hungry and much later than expected after a long journey from Skye. Fish and chips from Kelly’s really hit the spot, freshly cooked and tasty.

Fresh fish and chips with a crunch - bliss! On a flying visit to Banff, Kelly's served up the real deal for an early tea and we were super grateful. Plus mushy peas and a proper cuppa. Highly recommended.

It’s years since we last had a carry out from Kelly’s, don’t think it will be that long before we go back again. We had fish and steak pie both of which were really good, the chips were tasty also.

Visiting Banff for family wedding. Didn't want to eat at hotel. Stumbled across this little chip shop away from the main road. Ordered haddock and chips along with a drink. The do tea and coffee too. We ate inside the shop where there were tables and chairs. The food was cooked while we waited. It arrived piping hot. The fish was very fresh , surprised it's tail wasn't flapping! The chips were fluffy inside and crispy outside. It cost less than £15 for 2 of us including drinks. It was the fish and chips I have had in years. A must visit.

Visited this chip shop on spec as there was a steady stream of customers for the takeaway. The fish and chips were freshly cooked and tasty. The batter was different from our usual chip shop being quite crisp, the chips were fresh and tasty. The price for a sit in meal was excellent only £7.50 for a supper served in the café. staff were friendly and the service was efficient.

Fish cooked fresh but batter not tasty and too hard. Chips were awful. Seemed like they were heated up or over cooked. Friendly service though. Need to improve batter and certainly try and cook chips better. Would not recommend.

Friendly staff, appropriately decorated and decent food, except for the disappointing chips which tasted equally old and raw. One of us found several hair on his plate, whilst one of the workers thought it to be appropriate to eat in the office in full view of the customers. There's definitely potential here, especially considering the location, but the management really ought to crack down on the aforementioned problems.

Ordered and collected from here whilst staying at the CRAIG ALVAH LODGE - very nearby. This place offers a great selection of dishes and the chips were cooked perfectly. The family all had different dishes and all were finished as you would expect for the great value prices. No problems in recommending this place for a great value, well served traditional chip shop meal

You will go a long way to find such a great chippy. Cooked to perfection. Food is cook fresh to order and the portions are very bid. Nice we cafe so you can sit in and enjoy your meal. Please try for yourself and you will not be disappointed

The food from this establishment is medicore, on the day I went they had run out of some products which I wished to order, so I had to have a alternative. The staff spent the time chatting amongst themselves and were not really very welcoming or friendly, which is fine as I wanted a take out. All in all alright if you want something to eact. Portion sizes small to average - Price for suppers - far far too high

Myself, my husband and the kiddies called in for tea one evening. The girls at the front desk were very friendly, however the lady sat at the back of the restaurant I found to be less welcoming, we were abruptly told we couldn't sit at a certain table and didn't smile never mind make pleasantries. The food was ok, however it wasn't the nicest chippy tea I've ever had. Would not return.

Saw the reviews and, as we have tried all of the other fish and chip shops with varying degrees of disappointment we went to Kelly's. Glad we did. Fish was fresh but a little overcooked for me, could have been a bit too long in the hot oil. Very tasty though. Chips were great!!!! Fried in oil which is not my favourite way of cooking chips (much prefer beef dripping) but it is testament to the quality of the cook and the potatoes that made them shine. I will be back!!!

Great service, clean surroundings, Gorgeous fresh fish and some of the best chips i have ever had. Well worth a visit.

Fresh into town, looking for food, we were drawn to Kelly's Chips - & I'm glad we were! Friendly service, explanations of the regional specialities, clean tables to sit at, & the freshest cooked food served in large portions. And they serve Moray Cup, which I'd not had for 11 years, it not being available in Herefordshire for some weird reason... We will be back.

Having read the reviews I thought this would be the place to go for our fish supper. However I was quite disappointed. The haddock in my supper was very poor and didn't come up to what I expected. The frying was of a good standard. The shop was very clean and had a nice sit in eating area. The staff were very friendly.

Best fish & chips in Banff.Fresh fish, good tatties 4 chips makes the perfect meal, all cooked on order.Good prices also.

This place sells the best scampi in the North East of Scotland, Morag and her team have this down to a fine art, no burst scampi here.

While we were on holiday in Banff we came across this great chippy.There were 4 adults & 2 children in our party and everyone enjoyed their food! Very fresh & good value.The Fish was awesome! Service was excellent too! The staff were very friendly Highly recommended!

There's nothing better than fresh local fish cooked fresh and this chip shop does just that. We had a choice of haddock or lemon sole, both were great. The batter was crispy and the first tender. The chips were crisp too. A must visit

Fish & Chips here are excellent.Freshly cooked to order either in person or by telephone.Good price, even the small supper is good value.

Great place for takeaway fish and chips or chicken fillets and chips, well priced and really tasty - been before and will always go back when visiting

lovely fish and chips cooked while we waited and went out of there way to give me the empty pickle jar which i was making wedding props for.

Been to Kelly's a few times over the years and never disappointed with the food. Chips a wee bit peelywally at times but just proves clean oil used and they actually taste of potato!!! Some of the young lassies serving have their faces tripping them but are polite and courteous. The manager/owner (not called Kelly I believe tho correct me if I'm wrong?) is lovely and always has a chat. Love this place, won't go to any other chipper in Banff or Macduff

Its all good, and service and politeness excellent, it is nicely located and has ramp for disabled people to come in and have a meal at seated area which is warm and cozy.

Kelly's is a good clean chipper in Banff. They have good quality food and its one of the best in the area. Worth visiting, nae greasy like some.
