Kathmandu Palace in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

First visit to the restaurant and wasn’t disappointed at all. Food was lovely and tasty too. Staff are very pleasant and service good. Well worth the visit

Extremely popular so do book! We did, and the food was superb, the staff juggled takeaways and in-house orders very efficiently. Gemma was a joy. One of the best curries I've ever had... possibly even better than my experience of Brick Lane in London. We shall return!

My grandson and I enjoyed an excellent meal on Sunday evening. The staff were friendly and attentive , the atmosphere was great, and the food was well presented. Both of our choices were delicious and accompanied by a very nice glass of wine. I would certainly recommend visiting if you are n Truro.

We had a wonderful dining experience here this Valentine's Day. The staff were delightful and the food was delicious. As a child, I have had Nepalese cuisine often so my expectations were high. We ordered chicken momos and chicken pakoda. The momos were good and the pakoda had the beautiful besan flavour. The chutneys that they came with were lip smacking. For the main, I went with Everest Lamb and my partner went for Rogan Josh. We paired them with different naans and Nepali beers. Everything went down a treat and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience there.

We had an amazing dinner at Kathmandu Palace. Very friendly staff. Delicious food. I really loved the momo and the spicy Everest lamb. My kids loved their chicken plates. I particularly appreciated the honesty of the owners and the fact that the prices were all reported in the menu. Definitely a fantastic Nepalese restaurant!

Excellent 👌🏾 The staff were very warm and friendly. Always checking on clients to make sure they are well taken care of. The food was superb; the portions were just right and the quality was top notch. The environment was very neat and tidy with nice aromatic flavour. I would recommend this place anytime.

The staff were absolutely lovely and the menu had some interesting dishes. You'll certainly have a nice curry here and an enjoyable experience but it's not top tier.

Another amazing evening spent at this superb restaurant. What more could you ask for from the welcoming staff who served us attentively all evening nothing too much trouble . The food you need to taste to appreciate how good it is first class. I spent the evening with some special friends and we could not have picked a better place to enjoy each others company.

We eat here a lot, the staff are the most amazing, friendly, helpful bunch you could ever want and the food is exquisite.

Nice meal with great friendly service- the restaurant was really busy but the staff worked really hard and it was definitely all done with warmth . Starters excellent and my husband enjoyed his curry but my lamb passander was a little tough.

We ordered a takeaway from here last night. First time we’d used this place but the reviews were good so thought we’d give it a try. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the inside of the restaurant looked lovely but the food was a let down. It was cold, bland and very uninspiring. We will not be ordering from here again sadly. To be totally honest it’s getting extremely difficult to find a decent takeaway in Truro for any kind of food. Happy New Year!

An insipid tasteless light pink coconut sauce over a handful of pan fried chicken pieces, if you’d have blindfolded me I wouldn’t have been able to name it as Chicken TM, no seasoning, not even salt. It seems that eating or ordering out nowadays is not about enjoyment so much as not cooking.

Went to dinner at Kathmandu Palace last night for a shared birthday with my Best Friend. I can honestly say I think it’s the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. The taste of the food was like a mouth explosion,it kept getting better and better with each course Absolutely fantastic I will be going again soon. And all the staff are so friendly so lovely it was more like you were dining with friends.

We were initially excited to try Kathmandu Palace, lured in by its promising reviews and a commendable food hygiene rating. However, our experience was far from satisfactory. The curry we ordered had an unmistakable taste reminiscent of a store-bought jar, lacking the authenticity and freshness we expected. Adding to the disappointment, the vegetables in the curry seemed aged and not at their prime. The rice served alongside was bland and unappealing, failing to complement the main dish as it should. More concerning was the discovery of a hair in our curry, a glaring oversight in hygiene. The poppadoms, which should have been a crispy delight, turned out to be stale and inedible. To top it off, the pricing felt unjustified. The portions were meager, not reflecting the premium we paid. We left most of our food untouched, feeling utterly let down. This dining experience was not just a letdown but a complete waste of our money. It was, frankly speaking, gross, and we are determined not to order from Kathmandu Palace again.

This has been one of our favourite Indian restaurants for a number of years now, but our recent visit to Kathmandu Palace in Truro was extremely disappointing. Both starters and mains or though tasteful, the paneer starter/and chicken in the mains were of a very poor/undercooked/chewy standard. I did not expect this especially on a Wednesday evening when this is not the busiest time. The cheese and garlic naan ( used to be one my favourite) parts of the meal was dry, had very little cheese on and tasted very bland and undercooked. To also sit and wait over 20 minutes and have no one come over to see if we were ok/wanted anything else/the bill was also unacceptable. This was our go to place for a curry in Truro/Cornwall and to say this was a disappointment was an understatement. Not sure if we will come back which is such a shame.

Lovely food and surroundings. The service was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. Enormous care was taken of my elderly mother. Will definitely visit again.

This has been our favourite place in Cornwall for a curry for over 10 years. We gave recommended it to everyone however we have just had our last meal there. Firstly the drinks, warm flat cola and lemonade. And the white wine was totally vile and undrinkable. The food here was incredible until a couple of years ago, and last time we visited we did feel it wasn't as good but put it down to an off day, well no more excuses its really gone down hill! The chicken tikka was once big juicy chunks of chicken marinated beautifully cooked to perfection, now its small tasteless and dry. The curries, a madras and a Nepalese special both chicken where exactly the same, totally the same dish, and again aside from the couple of whole green chillies in the sauce bland and watery, almost soup like, absolutely awful, £60 wasted, we won't return.

Enjoyed my food here. Chicken tikka masala had a sweet flavour which was different for me. Also had chilli paneer. Be careful eating the green chilli all at once. Employees were very nice, too. Only downside was the rude customer sitting behind me, but the restaurant is not at fault. Would eat here again.

Worst takeaway ever, we both threw half away. Tasteless. I had dhansak and hubby had jalfrezi. Shared a meat starter best part of meal even though the chicken tikka was chicken with very little taste of tikka. Never go there again

We called on the day and we were delighted that they squeezed us in (table for 2). It's a popular place but the tables don't feel crowded. Service was excellent and the food utterly delicious. Highly recommended and we'll be back.

We had a great night out which was made all the better because the staff went out of their way to accommodate our booking. Upon arrival our table was ready for us, drinks order taken and menus ready on the table. There is an extensive menu that caters for all tastes. Service was slick, the food really tasty and the evening was a great success. We would like to compliment all the staff for their contribution in our evening

Now our goto restaurant in Truro. Whenever we visit Truro, it's normally for a show at HFC. We always start our evening here. Always excellent service and food. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant meal at Kathmandu Palace. Very highly recommended. Chris and the team are very welcoming even though it’s been 12 months since we last visited whilst on holiday last year. He remembered us and took the time out for a chat. I appreciate that and it really helps create a great atmosphere when visiting. The food at this restaurant is top class. The Nepalese dishes are excellent. Ghurka lager is great ice cold and the service is excellent. This is probably our favourite restaurant to visit when we are on holiday in north Cornwall. 5* rating all the way. Have booked to visit again in a few days. Keep up the excellent work.

Food was reasonable. Poppadoms were good. Main and sides ok. Beer cheaper than usual. Service OK but ended up having to pay for more beer than requested. Ended up an expensive evening for a curry. Restaurant is small

Not bad at all. Really good popadoms. Tasty mixed veg starters. We had a couple of vegan main courses and side dishes and also some vegan flat bread. The sag aloo was particularly good. Throughly enjoyed the draft cobra too.

This is our favourite Curry house by far, we have been coming here for 20 years and we have always been very happy with the great food and hospitality. We now live 2 hours away, but when we want an excellent curry, it's worth the travel.

I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. Having never eaten Nepali food before it was a very pleasant surprise. The staff were lovely, and couldn't have been more helpful. Definitely worth going, try it once and I'm sure you will be back, I certainly will.
