Absolute class. Food plentiful and tasty. Always comes piping hot as it should. Staff always can't do enough for you. Myself and my wife visit regular

Terrible customer service, after placing our order for delivery we stated no vegetables with the madras and the member of staff repeated it to me to make sure the order was correct. On arrival I could clearly see my madras dish was full of onions etc. when contacting the restaurant the owner/manager called my wife a liar because her chefs told her no onions where out into my dish. My photo clearly shows they are not telling the truth which can be very dangerous for people who have food allergies. After a 10 minute discussion the lady in the phone told us the best they can do is send another dish out alone and we would have to eat the rest either cold or before the replacement arrives. I fully understand mistakes happen but when you pay for something the least a company can do is rectify mishaps and not disrespect customers.

Amazing service. We sometimes have fortnightly orders, foods amazing every time. Portion sizes are decent and the menu is varied and exciting.

First time visit. Enjoyed the meal and service was good. Unfortunately there was a loud table nearby (of course this isn't the fault of restaurant). I look forward to visiting again.

Sorry but it just isn't value for the price charged The loud rock music in an Indian restaurant is not a good feel The bhaji was solid,crispy onion with no taste The curry was red ,thin sauce,the chicken was not pre cooked in a clay oven,the rice was overcooked The biryani was the same red sauce Very expensive menu prices in relation to other Indian restaurants in north east Derbyshire

Very overcooked chicken with little flavour, naan breads were cold on arrival and the poppadoms were all smashed. Can't fault the delivery time though.....just need to work on the rest of it.

Never had an issue before, we've always loved Kathmandhu. Tonight however was really disappointing. Ordered approx 7.15pm, given a delivery time between 8.40-9pm. At 9.40pm, still no food so i complained through Just Eat. An update was sent through with a "slightly" amended time of 10pm! I then requested some money back through the app but havent heard anything on this front. Food arrived around 10.15pm and was stone cold. Not good enough ☹️

Came here with the family for the Sunday buffet, and everything was fantastic, food was fresh, hot and tasty and the staff were really friendly.

Extremely salty and not at all like the wonderful flavours like we're used to. Please fix this

We ignored the wait as it was busy and we ignored the dirty serviettes on the chairs as it was busy when the starters came they were superb, we were excited about mains and when they came the Meat was really good tender and marinated but covered in an awful sauce heaving with sugar so sweet I couldn’t eat mine I ordered it hot wouldn’t even class it as mild. we asked to take it home and they put the empty containers on the table with a spoon to do ourselves ? !😂 not good I’m afraid the food is too sweet for me and the service was appalling so I wouldn’t recommend

Amazing food and really tasty. The delivery man is always so friendly. When visiting the restaurant the staff are very attentive and helpful especially when choosing which dishes to try. Not sure what to order? Give them a call before and they will help :-)

Visited with friends Friday evening 26th January after this place was Recommended to us... pleased to say it did not disappoint. Fabulous Food served had the mixed starter which had the mist succulent and tasty pieces of chicken and lamb. Poppadoms and Pickle Tray. Fabulous poppadoms nor greasy and very Crispy. Main had the chicken shasklik which was cooked to perfection and presented well. Great Service from the staff and a very friendly environment to eat. Many thanks

You wouldn’t get any better service in any restaurant in Chesterfield. Excellent range of dishes that you won’t see in an Indian curry house. Definitely worth a visit

Terrible l. Don't waste your money we ordered a takeaway due to the good reviews. What is wrong with you people? Bahji and samosa were chewy and tasteless served with some weird fluorescent green stuff, obviously full of food colouring. Naan was cold and chewy curry was full of food colouring I've had better out of jars. Expensive poor quality

Delicious food, good delivery, cannot fault it. My mum is 79 and says their poppadoms are the best she's ever tasted :)

We’ve had takeaway from here a few times over the last few months and think it’s worth a review. Every meal we have had has been great. The food is always fresh and so tasty. I love the honey chilli chicken. There’s six of us and never get a meal wrong. 110% recommend for takeaway.

food delivered cold. I warmed curry and rice in microwave but chips went in the bin.

This food was cold on delivery then when phoned up wanted to give us credit for next meal didn't want a microwave meal will never order again

Food was good overall but two different chef's special curries, with different descriptions on the menu, came out with exactly the same sauce: maybe this was a mistake? Service was a little slow so we were happy to enjoy the dishes as presented to us, rather than wait longer for a possible replacement.

Booked this to go for meal with family on new years eve soon as we got there instantly felt like we wasn't wanted got put to our table witch they was 6 of us and they seated us to a 5 seated table with an extra chair felt like we was rushed our food told it would be easier if we choose the buffet witch we wonted to order off the menu it came and it was tasteless the chicken tikka masala tasted just like tomato soup wouldn't recommend

Dont waste your money, I wished I had read thereviews. 1st and last time ever. I can't say anymore as they would all be swear words.

Cold food also missing food , man rang to ask me to pay more for rice which was my mistake I thought it came with a £10 curry he said are you going to pay for rice so abruptly spoken too , not what you expect then they forget my Bombay potatoes I ring them they say no worries sorry we will send them back down I ask how long 30 minutes guess what an hour and half later still no potatoes and also on top of all this the food was cold !! £30 well spent !!! They never learn basic customer service!!!

A group of us met up for dinner and a chat, the interior was bright and clean, the staff were attentive, the food was great, full of flavour, well presented, vibrant, hot and, served in a timely manner. It was my first time here, but I will be back! We have been back, and it was even better! Looking forward to my next visit

Had dinner at the Kathmandu Gurkha with a group of people celebrating a Friend's Birthday. Very friendly and accommodating Service complimented by wonderful Food. I am not able to recount what everyone had as their meals , but my Wife and I certainly loved our menu choices. Had Drinks and Papadoms followed by a Starter of Chicken Momo and Vegetable Momo. Superb Starter. Best Momo's that I have had in years. My Wife had a Sea Bass Fillet for Main and I had a Spicy Nepalese Chicken Dish with Egg Fried Rice and Tarka Dal. Food was tasty and well-presented. Portions were very good. Everyone enjoyed a lovely evening that was topped of with a very nice Birthday Cake for our Friend. My first visit to this Restaurant and I hope that a return will be made in due course. To be highly recommended.

Love to get a takeaway from Kathmandu when visiting and the food never ever disappoints. At a time when just about everything is becoming more expensive we couldn’t believe that the prices haven’t increased since our last order 12 months ago. We still received our discount on collecting the food and the complimentary poppadoms and pickle tray. Unbelievable value for money and we enjoyed every single mouthful of our chicken madras, veg vindaloo, garlic naan breads and pilau rices. A feast fit for a king and we made very certain to eat every last bit. The gentleman who took my order over the telephone was most helpful and polite and I was greeted warmly by Kush in the restaurant who sorted my order out and had it ready for collection at the given time. Can’t fault anything about Kathmandu - brilliant service, amazing value and delicious food.

Was not sure what to expect as I had passed the place for 2 years and never tried, went for the buffet on a Sunday night, the food wasn't topped up all the time I was there which was from 6pm until 8.30pm with exception of the vegetables, rice and naan bread, the dishes didn't keep the food warm. I would say it was ok but nothing to rave about. Would I choose to go again in the immediate or near future? Probably not. That being said, I have nothing against the venue or service. it's just average for me and I think the buffet could be improved.

The food here is amazing. Especially the main courses. The staff went out of their way to assist us in choosing our particular needs in how hot we wanted our meal.

Every time I have a friend visit and they want an Indian takeaway we have it from here. Every single friend tells me they wish their local place was as good as this one - and some have said it’s the best they’ve ever had. Always great service, usually fast delivery, and incredible food. The delivery app worked nicely too unlike a lot of places. (This place is Nepalese rather than Indian but they serve everything you’d expect from an Indian restaurant plus some beautiful Nepalese dishes.)

We dropped in on a Saturday evening without a reservation and were given a table immediately. The food and service were excellent and we’d highly recommended a visit.

We have been to the Kathmandu Gurkha several times now and every time it has been a wonderful experience- some traditional Indian-style dishes but also an amazing array of distinctively Nepalese food with its delicious flavours and colours. Very difficult to choose between so many great dishes! All served by really friendly and attentive staff - this is an exceptional restaurant.

This place never disappoints. We have been many, many times and the staff are always amazing and attentive and the food is just fabulous and can be cooked to taste (more or less spices etc). I cannot fault this establishment at all! Love it!

It’s been a while since we’ve had a meal from the Kathmandu, and I’m regretting I’ve waited so long. We had a takeaway for 8 people and it was by far the best we’ve had in a long time. All the dishes were distinctly different and authentic, the restaurant was efficient in its preparation time and service when collecting, and they were generous in adding poppadoms and pickles without charge. There were no exceptions within our group of 8 - we all agreed that the dishes we had were tasty, with unique and well blended flavours and the portions were generous. Thank you, Kathmandu- you made a pleasant social evening memorable.

Genuinely one of the worst curries I’ve ever had. The lime pickle was bizarre and the cucumber raiti was radioactive and tasted of toothpaste. I ordered a special which promised green chillis but appeared to be full of spinach. I did question it but was still charged despite me not eating it. My husbands prawns had been butterflied and were an odd texture. The dhansak far too garlicy and the bhaji greasy. The only positive was the naan breads which were exceptional.

Don't deliver a £90 order basically a three minute drive nice... we also did ring straight away and were told you didn't deliver

One of the best fish curries I have ever had

Recently visited this beautiful Nepalese restaurant with my family for a meal out. Very authentic and delicious meals and service very professional. Very polite staffs and outstanding service. Highly recommend this place for Nepalese and Indian meals.

Food is on another level when it comes to take aways, it may be slightly higher in cost but this is worth every penny. We have mainly chicken dishes, every dish is made from proper chicken breast instead of you usual regurgated chicken cubes used in most take aways. I would definitely recommend katmando as the meals are great value for money. Happy Eating Everyone x

We went here whilst having a friends weekend away staying locally Lovely happy staff ! & very kindly catered for our needs. We asked for dairy free dishes as my friend is dairy intolerant the dishes we had were amazing. Poppadoms & Pickles Starters Nepalese Chilli Fish .. amazing! & squid Himalayan was lovely too Mains We shared the Seafood Combination .. beautifully cooked and spiced, and they adapted the Fish Palungo Masu using coconut milk which was one of the best dishes we have had. Amazing! Great value for money too! We had great banter with a lovely couple on next table which added to a fab evening! 10/10

Excellent food and very reasonably priced. My partner and I had the Khatmandhu Ghurkha Lamb and chicken dishes and they were delicious. There was a good range of reasonably priced desserts too.

Great selection of curries and English dishes and salad bowl. Nann breads are excellent and made to order. Place is beautifully clean. Staff warm and welcoming.

Quite disappointed, this was one of our favourite takeaways, ordered today, was so looking forward to it however it came and the curry has changed very bland and the chicken was dry. Unsure if it has changed hands but unfortunately not for the better.

The food was absolutely brilliant - best curry we’ve had in a long time. Food was early, but the quality was still spot on! Delivery driver was chirpy and polite. 10 out of 10….will definitely be ordering from here again!

We have all done the Indian/Bangladesh cuisines, but this was a first for us to sample Nepalese cuisine. Helpings were generously sized and the starters we delicious. I had the chicken stew for my main and chose to have it medium to hot; really rich sauce and extremally tasty. With main dishes coming with both rice and naan bread included, we were both "stuffed", but very happy.

I ordered 3 kinds of chicken starters and a veggie starter and as always, everything tasted fantastic.
