A hot food and dairy products retail stall owned by a raw milk cheese maker. They sell 2 kinds of hot food, cheeses, yoghurt and labneh. The hot foods are baked potato with raclette cheese served with cucumber & onions pickled and toasted cheese sandwich. Try to imagine how delicious it is eat of hot toasted sourdough bread with a mixture of 4 kinds cheese (grated montgomery’s cheddar, comte, ogleshield and London raclette), leeks & onions, especially in the cold winter. Now I know why the queue is always long!!

Excellent quality cheese and bread makes for a tasty sandwich! Even when you get to the front of the queue remember quality takes time and these people take all the time they need to ...

Lived up to my expectations! Had plain cheese but husband had the one with onions which he said was delicious and just the right amount.

Just happened to be passing this stall. Hadn’t realised it was famous! The sandwich was absolutely gorgeous. Took a while to get it but it was definitely worth the wait!

Must eat, the toasted bread with cheese, onion and cucumber, is yummy. I love cheese but not onion but this toasted made me finished the whole bread. I love it.

A fórmula parece simples (pão, queijo, cebola e alho poró), mas a execução começa perfeita desde a fabricação própria do queijo até a mordida final super crocante com queijo derretido de sabor sem igual, passando pelo tempero da cebola com alho poró picadinhos. Em sete dias comprei duas vezes pra ter certeza que a primeira não havia sido superestimada. A loja voltada pra rua é super simples, simples mesmo. Não há ambiente com mesas, pegue o o seu e procure um lugar pra comer.O menu na fachada oferece dois produtos: raclette (queijo derretido sobre batatas) e o queijo quente. Não há frescuras do tipo "dez sabores, sem isso ou com aquilo". São dois produtos e ponto final. Não há bebidas - há várias lojas ao redor vendendo bebidas, o que não demonstra fragilidade. Custam sete libras cada.O queijo quente chega na mão quentinho, derretendo, exalando perfume de queijos. We topped here while eating around Borough Market as we heard the cheese toasties were a must-eat. And it definitely was! We arrived around 11am and there was a bit of a line. We paid for the sandwich and they gave us a ticket. I'm not exactly sure what the ticket did as I wandered off to take photos of the pretty fruit across the way, and a few minutes later my dad was walking back over with the sandwich, which they had cut in half for us knowing we were sharing! It did take a bit of time for them to make, but there was quite a line so this is understandable, and it wasn't more than 5 or 10 minutes. The sandwich was so good, cheesy with a great oniony finish, and the bread was soft in the middle and crispy on the sides, as it should be. Definitely stop here to grab a sandwich while walking the market, it's great for sharing and you can ask them to cut it if that's what you plan to do! It did seem a bit pricey but I'm not going to complain because it was delicious.

While this place is not bad I also do not understand the frenzy of thinking this place is all that. The cheese sandwich was good and more than plentiful but the taste was bordering on over pungent. This is a heavy meal and the bread was almost too burnt. I would only go if you are looking for something different and there is no line.

We’ve been in Borough Market for lunch, usually I like to taste different food from different shops, the first taste was an Amazing Raclette with potatoes and Bermondsey cheese! Just £7.

We grabbed food here, after seeing it featured on a TV show. The grilled cheese is made to order and is super tasty. If you are trying other food in the market, then you can easily share one. The raclette over new potatoes also looked excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

We didn't know what it was at first. But we saw the long line and was curious what the fuss was all about. So...queue we did and it was the best decision ever...we were hooked on raclette here that we went back the following day for it.

Kappacasein Dairy in Burrough Market (on South end of London Bridge) does excellent fast-food raclette and cheese toasties. The staff are very friendly and the portion is good value for money at GBP7. You can also buy West Country cider in the market to wash it down. Highly recommended.

What makes the grilled cheese sandwich so good is the buttery bread is crispy & crunchy but not over burnt.... the cheese is not overpowering and the secret is the chopped & diced raw onion and spring onion added inside which really enhances the flavour of the cheese

The cheese toasties are to die for. They aren’t cheap, and you may have to wait a few minutes while they cook it fresh for you, but boy they are worth the wait!

This started off as a mobile stall quite a few years back and now has a permanent place at the entrance to Borough Market. I think that the originator brought the idea from Switzerland and initially did everything himself but now he is rarely there and the people who work there appear to be mainly students or casual workers. As the system is pretty straightforward and the ingredients the same, it is just as tasty as it has always been with just the Raclette (melted Raclette cheese on new potatoes) and the sour bread sandwiches. Both very delicious. As everything is made to order, there can sometimes be a long queue, especially on busy market days. However, it is well worth the wait.

On the western edge looking in on Borough Market. Selling cheeses etc but especially the molten cheese fillings for hearty rustic sandwiches etc. Loved it. I will be back.

Tried both the raclette (potatoes with melted cheese and pickles for 6 pounds) and cheese toasties (sour dough slices sandwich with melted cheese for 6 pounds). A tad overpriced compared with the other offerings in Borough Market. Very oily so dieters watch out! Bread was burned on the crust so it was a bit bitter. I'd prefer Ginger Pig Sausage Roll over this as an equal diet killer.

This is a must try if you are in Borough Market. The grilled sandwich was so very tasty..perfect blend of cheese..had it in the morning...absolutely loved it...still remember the feeling I had on having the first bite!! Surely worth 6 £....do try!!

In Borough Market you are spoilt for choice when it comes to food, but the place I would always take any visitors to town is the Kappacasein Dairy for the delicious cheese toastie. Made with three types of cheese, some finely diced pickles and onions, all between some sourdough, this is one of my favourite meals in London. For £6 you'll be set for a while before your next meal, though you'll probably need some water to help with the cheese sweats... so good! Be prepared to queue on the weekend, but it moves fast and it's worth the wait.

The title pretty much says it all! Cheese toasties were great, but the highlight is the melted cheese scrapped off a cheese wheel over new potatoes! Doesn't get much better than that! Great spot in Borough Market!

Okay, overpriced should come with what do you expect. But the other reviews are correct. An over greasy totally average toasties that you so want to love, but just can't. Whack in some more onions, cut the bread a little better so it crunchy on the outside but stays moist in the middle. Once upon a time they were a little better but the last two were not great, and that sadly may be the last time.

This cheesy toasty is heavenly. Grilled cheese for big kids, with a mix of red onion and hard cheese (alpage gruyere). They also do raclette (melted cheese on top of potatoes) that is to die for. Best £6 you'll ever spend.

Sourdough was sliced extremely thin, the mix cheeses is too sickly and there is not enough onions. Total waste of £6

Having fallen in love with raclette while in Switzerland last week, I accidently found out about this place via Instagram.It's a 2min walk from London Bridge tube stop and was pretty much the first place you saw as you approached the market.The queues were long but went down quick. (One queue was for their grilled cheese sandwiches..which looked great) Had a good portion of raclette for £6 with lovely new potatoes and pickles. Tasted great! I will be making this a regular stop when I'm in London from now on!

Less gooey than I expected, but definitely yum! Got the Raclette without the pickles. The potatoes themselves were delicious and well-seasoned. Beware, the cheese cooled down very quickly in the cold weather and became a little difficult to eat. Nevertheless, would definitely be back for more.

The folks here were so charming - they were experiencing difficulties with their electrical outlets as they just moved but kept melting that cheese as fast as they could while rearranging extension cords and taping them to the ground. The cheese is melted to bubbly perfection with a few crusty bits and then scraped onto perfectly boiled new potatoes - so simple but so iincredibly delicious. For 6 pounds, it's quite a deal and easily shareable. They are chatty and make the wait for the melting cheese quite pleasant.

I heard about the grilled (toasted) cheese and onion sandwiches here. I thought, why are people raving about it, they can't possibly be that good, after all it is only a cheese and onion sandwich. How wrong I was. This is the Rolls Royce of cheese and onion sandwiches. It is like the ultimate of every component, brought together.It lives up to the hype.The bread is Poilane style sourdough , lathered in butter. The cheese is (I believe) Montgomery. The onion mix includes herbs and leeks. Taken together, this is an awesome sandwich.The only thing is, so many people know about it, there is often a big queue.

When walking the world famous Borough Market, I rounded a corner and was wondering what smelled so bad, but after seeing the line for toasted cheese sandwich and raclette, I had to try it. I met the owner, Mr. Bill and was treated to a heavenly cheese sandwich!

We had raclette at this place most weekends about a decade ago when we were studying in London. We've moved abroad by the first thin we did when we came back visit was go back for some raclette. Was as good as it ever was. Definitely worth trying.

We visited their pop up food stand on a Saturday at the Borough Market. Fantastic grilled cheese. The cheese is amazing as is the mixture of herbs they use in the sandwich. Great on a winter day.

This little stand does two things, and they do both very well!! They make one of the best grilled cheese sandwiched I have ever had, and they also do another dish, which I can't name. But there is always a line, because these guys are popular. It's a must try
