Kam Sang in Scarborough

Brilliant friendly staff and really good food, accommodated 8 of us and food was hot and on time and the place has a great atmosphere would fully recommend.

Update: I've returned here many times since my first visit five years ago for NYE. Still just as good as it has ever been! Went here for New Years Eve dinner. The menu is great, good food choices. The food itself is excellent, good quality and good sized portions. The service is very fast and they also had really good entertainment. Cannot fault it!

Visited a few times and enjoyed it every time. Food is very tasty and served quickly. Staff are friendly. Just wish I had room for more! Will definitely be back.

I went here with one of my sons during a two night stay in Scarborough. The food was excellent and the service also matched the quality of the food. I will definitely be returning again in April when I visit Scarborough with my two sons 👍 Keep up the great work Kam Sang.

Dined in this place last night (Tuesday) Surprised how busy it was as there were no offers or specials on. The food was average at best, packed out with mostly veg and very little meat, and is fairly pricey The portions were also quite small and lacked flavour The interior is very drab, stuck in the 80s and was lacking a bit of background music I found the staff to be attentive but a tad lordly Overall, I wasn't that impressed If you want a decent sit down Chinese in scarborough TOPPS restaurant is a far batter choice in my opinion

A fairly typical Chinese restaurant with absolutely no complaints from our lot. The food and the service were excellent and we didn't wait long for the food. It tasted freshly prepared and cook straight from the wok. Would definitely return.

I love a Chinese curry, bit boring I know But this was the best Chinese curry I've ever had Staff are very attentive, but not over powering, very polite, also the decor and surroundings are also very nice, we'll definitely be back 👌

This is our 5th visit to kam sang restaurant and on previous occasions the food and service both excellent but last nights visit was totally different we were greeted by most of the staff wearing masks were shown to a table brought menus order taken the first course hot and sour soup was so spicy it brought tears to my boyfriends eyes he had the same soup in july totally different colour and taste and it so much tastier in july next the main course my boyfriend had house special curry the prawns were hard to eat and cut which spoiled the curry i had the beef and pineapple which was ok very pineapple laden and very underseasoned next the egg fried rice which was sticky clumped together and not very tasty the one redeeming part of the meal was the prawn crackers very tasty 😊 i must also say felt very watched by the staff when eating now u can be attentive to customer's without making u feel like u being watched if i do return and staff wearing masks i will not be staying as not comfortable being served by people wearing masks

The best prawn toast, and lovely ribs, are definite starter choices here. Mains are fantastic, and the beef with green peppers in black bean with fried rice is a sure fire success. Service depends on how busy they are, varying between average and good. Pricing is reasonable. One of my favourite Chinese restaurants.

Very busy on a Saturday night. The food did take a little bit too long to arrive but when it did it was spot on. Chicken and corn soup was great. The food was perfectly seasoned and packed full of natural flavours. The dining area is a lovely setting and spotlessly clean. They serve loads of sizzling plate dishes but the ceiling tiles are still brilliant white. Staff were lovely and made every effort to make sure everything was nice. Highly recommend and will be back

Lovely delicious foods with a friendly service

Food not the greatest. Service shocking told it would be 40 minutes so arrived at the alloted time and waited a further 35 minutes. My takeaway was brought out and it was not given to me for 5 minutes. Not impressed.

Always come here when in Scarborough but not as good as it used to be. The ribs for starters were OK, but the special chow Mein and shredded chilli beef were both bland. The main course bowls were brought out before we had the starter so we're cold by the time the main course came out. Unfortunately will not be returning

On holiday in Scarborough and found this restaurant. One of the best Chinese restaurants we have been in food was delicious

Whilst on a break at Scarborough we decided to try Kam Sung after looking at it each day. It didn't disappoint at all. The food was delicious, the staff were all friendly, our waitress was very friendly and nothing was a problem for her. Can seem a little pricey to some people, but it is worth every penny!

Second visit in last eight weeks, sorry to say that on this occasion it was poor. Small portions, slow service and gone downhill. I will out of fairness give it another try when hopefully things will be better.

I ordered the Prawn fried rice, it was swimming in oil, when I tipped the plate it ran into a pool, it was inedible, when I showed the waitress, her response was to order something else next time, unfortunately there will not be a next time.

Dined in at the Kam Sang on Sunday 3rd September, arrived around 6ish and it was was fairly quiet, boy am I glad we got there early because it wasn't long before it started to fill up. The service was second to none, lovely friendly staff, very attentive. The food was outstanding, really delicious, I ordered crispy spring rolls to start and the shezuan chicken (I doubt I've spelt that right!) for main then ice cream. My husband ordered hot and spicy soup followed by Kung po chicken and he had ice-cream too. Prices were very reasonable and the portion sizes were just right. I would highly recommend this restaurant, I have nothing negative to say and will definitely return when I next visit Scarborough. Thankyou to all the staff at Kam Sang x

Beautiful food. The best chicken and sweetcorn soup we've ever had, could easily have eaten another bowl. Very attentive staff.

Very good. Table for 6 at very short notice after being let down by another place. Food was served quickly and was very fresh and tasty

Great food! It's a very busy place so service is a bit slow. The Wonton soup was delicious despite the tiny portion. The Wonton appetizer was crispy and the stuffing was flavourful. The chicken chopsuey dish was the best of them all and you could really pair it with anything.

Absolutely lovely food. Had to wait a little before ordering but once we did food came out very quickly and was delicious.

We arrived without a booking and got a table straight away. The food we ordered came very quickly despite it being busy. I have marked a 4 star for service merely because we had to wait quite a while for the dessert menu and bill. The staff were friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. We cleared our plates, including our kids who are very fussy!

One star is way too much for this watery disgusting mess. I paid hard earned money for a char su that was lacking any veg as well as flavour. It was the thinest slivers of god knows what meat. I hope the seagulls enjoy that expensive bird food i threw through the window.. Feel cheated and robbed.please please don't go to this place as you'll be as disappointed as.i am.

6 of us walked in on a busy Saturday night without a booking. Within 20 minutes we were enjoying our crispy aromatic duck. Service and food was fantastic and prices are very reasonable. Had a great meal and a lovely night out. Thank you.

Just had the most disgusting take away ever from this place. I live in Scarborough and must admit to not using ay of the restaurants or take aways, but I used to get take outs from the Kam Sang quite regularly and enjoyed them. The meal I just had with a friend was terrible nothing tasted fresh or even tasty even the dog went to lay down when we opened our meals. Just one word explains it all Disgusting.

We visited fairly late in the evening. Everyone was really welcoming. The atmosphere was really relaxed and the food was really great.

Good food served By kind Person, authentic Chinese taste, Not to be confused, it s a Restaurant Not a Snack Bar or fast food. Could be a bit more deco as the eye is guest as well and the dishes are Not really reflecting the quality of and the value of the meal.

I'm not exaggerating when I say this is hands down the best Chinese I've ever had in my life. Extremely high quality, tasty food cooked to perfection. Also, I was expecting it to be a bit pricier based on reviews and the menu available online but me and my partner got six dishes between us (including a quarter crispy duck) and when we collected it, it came to less than £35 which I consider to be very reasonable especially when you consider the quality of food you are getting. I would eat this meal every day if I could. 10/10. Edit: it was that good we are genuinely ordering from there again tonight 😂

Nice enjoyable friendly authentic Chinese dining experience

A very calming and quiet atmosphere. The people working there are extremely nice and great with kids. The food was delicious and the waiters are very patient. I really recommend this restaurant it's perfect for anyone.

Terrible experience. We rang ahead and were told that they could do a number of dishes gluten free to take away. Arrived and told the only option was chicken and veg. It was tasteless, pink, uncooked chicken floating in greasy water. If you're coeliac I'd advise you to avoid at all costs.

Fabulous food only problem was no one came to take drinks order and after 10 minutes we when and got own drinks as we were a party of 12 , but still give them 9 out of 10

Whilst I cannot complain about the food or service which was excellent having come here many times before on new years eve we were sad to find no entertainment like before no sparkling wine at the end of the evening so made for little or no atmosphere for that night please bring it back next year

Had a delicious tofu Szechwan with vermicelli noodles (I asked for an egg free noodle dish). Four of us ate and everyone enjoyed it.

Had a meal here several years ago and enjoyed it ,we were renting a cottage close by so decided to have a takeaway, the quality is still as good we can recommend the food it was stil fantastic

Where can I start. I walked in off the street at 8 in the evening and asked if they could accommodate 10 people, they were busy and made up 2 tables for us. The staff could not have been more accomadating and friendly. We had children with us who were struggling with the duck pancake rolls and one of the waitresses took the time to show them how to roll them and made a fuss over them which was really kind. The food was tremendous and really well presented and not too heavy. Even my dad enjoyed it and he is a night mate when eating out. Cannot recommend this place enough. We'll done guys.

Delicious food and reasonably price. There were two set of menus for both British and Chinese. We chose Chinese menu and glad having authentic Cantonese food in the UK. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

I can still remmember walking past one year when Tour of Britian came through Scarbough. The place was packed. Had to wait for table. Had starters, mains and a coffee. Have to revisit if ever in town again.

The meal described as spicy was not spicy at all in fact very bland. One meal ordered had no water chestnuts which was a main ingredient of the dish. The egg fried rice was over cooked. Prawn crackers were not delivered. Overall a very poor experience would no go again.
