Kahlisa in Liverpool

Visited the other night and was brilliant.. great food, friendly service and well priced. What more can you ask for?

Great Restaurant never had a bad meal here and all the staff are very friendly. Always feel welcome and treat you like family.

Ordered food tonight for a take away, to be told hour wait, not an issue, when i returned home, steak freezing cold, chips missing from order. When I returned to get replacement, the attitude of manager speaking to me was discusting.Trying to humiliate me in front of full restaurant. We are on lock down , yet the restaurant if full of guys sitting at tables drinking pints of lager !! Where is social distancing. I will not be going back there ever .

Don't live to far away from kahlisa. But we haven't been here for many years. We tend to go further afield. Anyway so glad we went. On a Sunday night. Few people in their. Looked like regulars. Very friendly staff greeted us. Nice table by the window. Nice bottle of wine. Prawn puri starter. Poppadoms. Chutneys. Chicken dansak. Rice. Methi gosht. The keema rice was huge. And plane naan. Absolutely gorgeous. Definitely be returning soon. 👍

If you don't mind luke warm starters and just ok mains with staff standing over you to watch the sport on the tvs, then you will like this place. I have been to many Indian restaurants but this is the worst place I have been. Waited forever for the starters, when they arrived they were cold. The mains were ok but nothing to write home about, I ordered the lemongrass and ginger special, could taste neither. Staff stood over us to watch the tv, why have tv sports in a restaurant, never known anything like it. The place was empty, no wonder. Will never return, please do not waste your money, try the Millon not far, so much better.

Dined here midweek as a large group of friends for a birthday, on entering the door was opened by someone looking as though he should be selling the Big Issue, dressed shabbily and unkempt. When seated we were aware that it looked as though a group of builders had made this place their drinking local, I've never been to a restaurant for a meal with friends to be surrounded by people drinking at the bar in working clothes, I thought that was what Pubs were for. Food was very nice, service was good, but drinks were brought to table and mixed up. Two Cokes, one with Vodka, one without, he couldn't remember which was which, not great, it's like Driving licence Russian roulette. Better to throw them and start again, than risk a driving ban. With so many Restaurants available, I think improvement is required. First impressions do count, I wouldn't rush to go back.

Walked in here tonight me and my partner to be greeted by the most lovely young man in the world ! Fab service from him - and what I seen was the man who I thought was the owner, to take on a scouse lad made it the best experience for me !! Food was unreal - chutney dish with poppadoms were delish, chicken tikka and lamb tikka starters were melt in the mouth !! Cobra on draught........ 110% the best pint I’ve had !! Main meals hot hot hot and succulent ! Bravo to the chefs !! Best service by a lovely young man and he made it for me.... service is key ! Congratulations on being the best Indian in Liverpool

After we had decided to go out for a meal at the Kahlisa we decided to have a takeaway instead !!! They do not have a delivery facility so picked it up as it was not too far, and VERY glad I did, the food was excellent and by far the best we have had for a long time.

I went to the Kahlisa restaurant on the recommendation of two family members, who were with us on the night. We were a group of seven. My sister and her family arrived a few minutes before us. We informed the waiter that we'd want two separate bills at the end. That was a group of three and a group of four. He took the order for two drinks and before we could order anything else, he shot off to the bar to order the drinks, leaving the rest of us waiting! He really didn't seem very competent. One of the other waiters came over to assist, but the first guy seemed adamant that he was serving us. One half of the table received their appetizers first. Ten minutes later, the rest of us were still waiting. Then half of the order came out. We had to ask for the rest of our order. When our mains came out, part of that was missing to and we had to ask for it. The food really wasn't very tasty. All in all, a disappointing evening

We are visiting Liverpool for the weekend and friends took us here after the match. We had been out for some time and were starving. It was absolutely perfect! Delicious, filling, amazing service beyond all expectations! Highly recommended!

We are new to the area so thought we would at least give the restaurant a try. Great food, reasonably priced with friendly staff. I can see it us becoming regular visitors.

Omg! After being to a funeral today. We needed cheering up. So Indian food it was. Bored of the local we tried a place in Coldwell. And it was unbelievable. The lads working were so nice. The food! Wow. Just gorgeous. Fresh hot and very tasteful. We heard someone asking for the secret menu? So me and the wife ask for it too. I don't know what we ordered but I have to be really honest. Our food was top draw. Thank you for the lovely meal lads. 👍👍

Fuimos a comer para el cumpleaños de mi esposo, el personal era agradable, pero la comida era terrible. La salsa de yogur no estaba fría, como si no hubiera estado en la nevera. Fue muy decepcionante por decir lo menos y no regresará

Such a wonderful place, friendly and well-priced. Service is great. The staff are so lovely and welcoming. The food is divine and is served in generous portions.

Visité aquí para una comida fuera de la copa, miré el menú, pero, me apetecía algo diferente y le pregunté al camarero por algo diferente, nos trajo una lista con diferentes comidas y nos preguntó qué nos gustaba, elegimos 2 de las comidas del menú con kebab mixto entrantes. Disfruté de ellos, volveré aquí de nuevo. El personal y creo que el propietario es amable y tiene un seguimiento de clientes habituales

Hemos estado viniendo aquí (regularmente) ahora por unos pocos años, el personal en ese tiempo se han convertido en buenos amigos, siempre servicial y deseen por favor. No sólo la comida excepcional, todas tienen su propio gran sentido del humor, que añade un agradable ambiente relajado a su noche. Si te apetece un cambio, incluso ofrecen un 'fuera del menú 'lista!

Este es mi estado indio local varias veces con la familia y como pareja. Gran servicio, buena relación calidad-precio nunca tuve un plato mal. Altamente recomendado para té o una toma. El personal siempre atento y le recomiendo platos para usted. Siempre se puede tomar una copa en el bar poco mientras espera para llevar.

A veces la comida es tibia y un poco grasiento.

I've been here a couple of times now and can honestly say I have never had a bad experience. The food is delicious and great value for money. Ample parking is available directly outside and is free.

Visited here late last year with a group of friends. Food and service were both great and all meals were reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend!

Pedimos poppadoms, un kebab mezclado entrante, pollo tandoori, cordero balti jalfrezi, Aloo Gobi, arroz hervido y chapatis. Toda la comida era absolutamente deliciosa. También pedimos una botella de Rioja, que fue perfecto. Hemos cenado en casi todos los top 10 restaurantes en Liverpool (en tripadvisor) y este restaurante debe estar entre ellos. Gracias

This restaurant has never ever failed me or my family and it just seems to just get better. When the taste is about the spices not the heat and the company is about the customers and not the strangers then you have a great restaurant. :-)

Shaboo, Riaz and Dee - great hosts. Great food and always a warm welcome.Ample parking, and a great atmosphere; whether you're picking up a takeaway, or sitting in.

Me and my girlfriend are both lovers of Indian food, we decided to go out for an Indian meal for a special occasion and noticed all the good reviews about this "restaurant". on arrival we were sat down and ordered drinks which seemed to take a long time considering we were the only ones in there and the barman who was our waiter was just standing behind the bar. We noticed a few people were in and out collecting takeaways and looked like this place was geared more to the takeaway market. Finally after around half an hour the waiter took our order. The starter was ok not the best I've had but not the worst, it was poppadoms and chutney, the chutney dishes were abnormally large and I said to my girlfriend I wonder if they top them up and re use them, when we finished it was only then I noticed the large blonde hair in the lime pickle, my girlfriend is a brunette so it wasn't hers. When the mains came about an hour and 15 minutes after arrival we had two bland boring curry's, supposedly differant level of spiciness but both seemed to have no spice whatsoever but on the menu was supposed to be a hot curry, I've had better curry's from a jar in the supermarket, the wooden dish what holds the hot curry dish was absolutely rotten and the waiters fingers were in the rice as he was bringing it out, even the naan bread was Disappointing.I don't like leaving bad reviews but thought I'd have to since there was a lot of good reviews here and I really can't see why, I can make a better curry at home but we went out to treat ourselves, it's a shame really, but if you fancy a nice indian restaurant there are a few not far from here that we go to regularly, this was a total let down and one of the most expensive in the area. Would never go again and I wouldn't recommend to anyone, I've attached pics of the dirty dish and hair found in the food.

Spent a memorable evening at the Kahlisa tonight. Outstanding food cooked to perfection by Haroon. We were guided in our choices by Shobuz. He talked with extensive knowledge about the spices and cooking methods of the dishes we chose. All the staff were warm and outgoing and obliging included a latecomer on our table. This is a recommended "must visit/must eat" destination. Include it on your wish list. You won't be disappointed.

I've been here many times over the years, I used to eat here when they never had any matching plates years ago (I kind of liked that though).The food is one of the best Indian meals I've had in the city (and I've been to quite a few over the years)They clearly have a top Indian Chef and the atmosphere is nice, the staff are really good too.You can tell the majority of customers are regulars who clearly know something.I can't recommend the place highly enough, top draw!

Wonderfully warm atmosphere with staff full of character remiscient of Fawlty Towers (!) and the most delicious Indian food that I have tasted. Have brought numerous friends and family (including grateful grandparents) who all have raved about the quality of the food and are always keen to visit! Lovely local business and proud to support.

Visited for first time for my hubby's Birthday. His fav. We were sat down and left us sitting for nearly 15 mins. People were coming in and out for take ways. Seemed to be more popular than the restaurant side. We were deciding to go somewhere else when the man from next table said I'll sort it I'm a regular. Well next minute waiter came over with menus. We were glad we stayed the curries were really good. Not disappointed. Plenty to choose from at very reasonable prices. We will definitely visit here again!

The food here was great! I had chicken tikka sambar! Just the right amount of hot for me! The staff were really friendly and the place looks quite modern!

Been here a few times and food has always been lovely. From experience you do have to wait quite a while for your food but I generally don't find this a problem (unless we're going on somewhere) in fact its nice to have a break between courses, means I can eat more of their delicious food

Everytime we visit Liverpool we use this restaurant, had many sit in meals and takeaway.Food is first class and always very hot (temperature wise)My wife's hairdresser, Jane, in Liverpool recommended this restaurant many years ago, we have used it ever since.The food is always a very high standard.

Very rare we go for an Indian as you normally need to travel to Liverpool City centre, however I was walking past the kahlisa and the smell caught our attention so we thought we'd pop in. We had an onion bhaji starter which was spot on and I had a Madras curry. I enjoy a hot curry and thought a Vindaloo can sometimes ruin you experience if it's too hot but the Madras is perfect with plenty of flavour, heat and spice and I was right. The accompaniments were great and the beverages were of a good standard and complimented the meals perfectly. To top it off the service was top notch too, it may be a local Indian but that's what made it special, they treat everyone like a local pub would and because of this they get customers who pop in for a pint. I've never been a regular to any restaurant but after this eye opening visit that has now changed.

Treated myself to a take away. Had the Nepalese special, mushroom rice and peswari naan lovely!! This place is a gem. You must try it..

Live close to this restaurant so decided to give it a go. The food was really nice. Had the set menu. All the food was nice. The staff are really lovely. It was constantly busy which is nice to see. I will be returning soon.

This evening (29 Oct 2015) my daughter, her partner and I had a fabulous time and meal at the Kahlisa. The staff were wonderfully attentive and the food was superb. The tandoori feast is a masterpiece of indian cuisine and is a must for those who love the diversity of dishes on offer. Thank you guys.

I have been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years. I have not once left disappointed!The meals are always highest quality and the chef can even rustle up his own variations.The staff are the friendliest people you could wish to meet and nothing is ever too much trouble. I visit with my partner, my son and extended family so often there are a dozen of us yet the service is always friendly and helpfulAs I say...the best ever!

Fantastic breakfasts, Homemade pies to die for (I like the Homity Pie!!) Small, friendly and welcoming independent café in Childwall. Also has a 'Knitting Group' on Saturdays and occasional quizzes, music sessions in the evenings!

Lucky enough to live a 10 minute walk from this restaurant. Warm and friendly atmosphere where you're treated like a good friend. The food is exquisite and I'd recommend this place if you fancy a great curry.

Went to kahlisa' s on Saturday night just as it was closing, they stayed open just for our group of six. The food was great, the chicken chat to start then the lamb shashlik for mains, couldn't fault it, nor could any of the group. The staff are great, welcoming and funny. Was a great end to our evening.

Went on Sunday evening for a little treat. Was quite small inside, but tables were far enough apart that we didn't feel on top of the next diners. Had two starters, mains, one desert and some drinks. Starters were really nice, mains were great too. I had fish curry, my only gripe was that fish was a bit over cooked . Had one ice cream desert and one baileys coffee. Manager gave us a taster if one of the deserts to try. Very reasonable price for what we had, would go again, not for a special occasion though. Staff were some of the nicest I have met in a long time. Keep it up, it's nice to see staff laughing and enjoying the company of visitors! Would definitely go again, even though I'm not a great fan of Indian food :0)

On Friday night my family and I strolled in as the last of the diners were finishing off their meals. Inspite of this we were made to feel very very welcome. We ordered 3 main meals that were delicious. Service was impeccable and the bill at the end was really reasonable. We ordered a taxi, but as it was rainy Friday night, we were told we had no chance. Soooo the boss of the restaurant told a member of his staff to take us home!!!! The food, value and customer service were FANTASTIC. this was our first time here but it wont be the last!!

This is our nearest Indian restaurant, we usually go to Allerton Road but have been here many times. The food has always been great and very tasty, you don't get as much meat in the dishes as other restaurants but we've never been disappointed. They don't add food colourings either so it makes a change to see a tikka massala that isn't bright red. The staff are friendly, service is quick and you always leave full, so it can sometimes be difficult to squeeze that After Eight in!

Decided to try khalisa as it's a local Indian. We usually drive a bit further to one two very good Indian restaurants, one on Lark Lane the other on Aigburth road. The food at Khalisa was so bad we barely ate any of it. It tasted so incredibly bland, so disappointing. The only way I can describe it is that it tasted like watered down tesco value out of a jar Indian cooking sauce. It didn't even match up to a supermarket Indian ready meal.The best bit of the meal was the nan bread which was average. I really would genuinely avoid this restaurant as there are much better takeaway restaurants only a short drive away. This place is a real waste of money. No wonder it's always empty!

Food is gorgeous , never had a rubbish meal here !! The staff are great really friendly and polite , help you choose from the menu ..... so many choices !! Does take - away too , people pop in for a take a way have a pint and a chat ....it's has a lovely atmosphere.Prices are very reasonable. You will return again I promise.

the new refurbished place is great. good food the guys are very friendly if you ask for a special this is not a problem will cook to your taste hot or very hot... also do a take away service 20 mins tops so you can have a little drink whilst you wait and enjoy the banter with the staff they enjoy talking football great night will be back.

It's funny how you blank out places if you drive by them most days. I've driven by this curry house for years and got the odd take away now and then. But a couple of months bakc I was returning home from a visit to the Hospital ona Friday night when I noticed this places was packed.Not one spare seat in thouse! So I stopped my prevoius plan to get a fish and chip supper and got a take away - A Chicken Dhanask at £4.95 and I have to say it one of the best I've had in Merseyside.I tried another last week and this time it was the Chilli Massalla at £5.50 - it was pretty decent too. I think this may well become my regular, it's took 15 years but I may have found what I'm looking for!!!
