The fried seafood was OK... Softshell crab sandwich was $24 which I thought was worth it because it was 2 crabs and I was honestly expecting only 1. The fried oysters were again, just OK... I think when you eat freshly shucked oysters, it's hard to compare to the deep fried seafood which definitely does not taste as fresh. I would say to skip all the fried stuff and just go for the fresh oysters and clams, as well as the seasoned steamed shrimp and crab.

Loved it!!! Fresh seafood, oysters, soft shell crabs etc. Do yourself a favor and go there you won't be disappointed.

It is fantastic for buying fresh fish in DC and walking in the malecón, but make sure you visit by public transportation or go by bike, parking at the Wharf is very expensive.

An incredible place with nice prices for fresh and steamed fish and seafood. I loved all about this perhaps except the mud worms in the oysters (I know they’re not bad for you but uh it’s hard to eat when things are moving in the box).

One of the best crab cakes I've ever eaten.

A dozen live crabs cost 120 yuan, but two were deliberately given dead. Not only were they dead, but they had been dead for a long time because their legs had fallen off. They were also very light, and the meat inside the shells had rotten and decomposed! That’s it, no smell! Anyone wishing to buy crabs here should check them one by one.

The best oysters I've ever had. They're huge and fresh. The line is long but totally worth the wait. We got crabs and soup too, and they were amazing! Crabs are hard to eat and messy, but they're worth it.

The people who serve are arrogant, they do not have manners like serving the customer.

Was visiting DC and couldn't NOT visit the place to see fresh fish!! They sell raw fish and steamed fish too which you can eat right there. We bought steamed shrimp which they sprinkled with some spice powder and cocktail sauce on the side.

Anyone in Washington must visit this place. Run by local people and they’re really lovely! You get fresh seafood as well as fresh boiled seafood and soups. Soups were really good, but boiled shrimp unfortunately didn’t feel sweet and fresh but we still enjoyed our experience. 😊

I must say I was impressed by the entire layout, the ease of parking at the wharf's parking lot and everything else. I would like to return hopefully in the spring.

The only thing I would say is the people that sell. The fish needs to clean the fish. Because the fish are very high-priced. So they could at least clean the fish for the customers.

Great fish. Went on a quiet friday in December and got chincoteague oysters, head on shrimp, and bone in halibut. It's too bad the fish market doesn't have the same vibe it did before rent got to be too much, but it's still a great spot to get a variety of seafood.

I have been to this market since I was a child! It has been around for over 30+++ years, then ♡ local, easy to get to from the metro, and even parking is convenient on this side of the market. It is small compared to fish markets around the world, but it literally has all your fresh seafood needs! Plus, lots of family run restaurants are connected to the market. Not much seating in that particular section, but it is connected to the tourist wharf area, and they have plenty of areas to sit by the water. A great Sunday hangout.

This place has plenty of various seafood that could be cleaned or prepped on the spot. The customer service is awesome! It is located on the boardwalk of the marina. So, there are many other things to do, such as shopping, dining, and excursions. It is a great place to visit or simply hang out for the day. AWESOME!

Parking is limited. Not a lot of selection. Prices are good for the quantity. Quality is great depending on the type of day. Great people to work with.

Stay away from the Jessie restaurant that is selling steamed crabs. The steamed crabs are disgusting, extremely stinky smell, seem like gone bad for such a long while that even the shell is soft. Can't get rid of the stinky smell even after washing my hands many times 🤮🤮🤮🤮any body who goes to this place will become unfortunate.

Been coming here for 50 years. Any kind of seafood you want is here. Cooked crabs or alive. You can buy fresh fish and they will clean them. This is at the end of wharf geat place to walk, shop and eat.

The Alaskan crab legs were meaty, flavorful & worth every penny! I purchased two 5 lb boxes, and as soon as I got home, they were devoured.

Fish market, you can buy raw or cooked. The parking is a little rough.

Best place in the entire area where fresh seafood can be found. Best clam shoulder soup I had in a long time. Fresh King and Alaska crabs at very good prices and the shops will steam them for you, but there isn't space to sit.

I normally go regularly and get great crabs but this time it was so unorganized and the guy that cooked my crabs gave me the wrong ones those crabs were hollow. I normally stick to what I know but next time I'll follow my instincts. You definately have to be mindful if your a crab person.

First time here but will not return. The price of seafood was overpriced. $69 for a dozen of jumbo crab and $18/lb of shrimp with head. The scallop price was reasonable $25/lb. Even though it was overpriced but we still got a dozen of crab and a pound of shrimp and a pound of scallop because it's was our first time and also for the experience. I was in line to get my seafood cooked. When it was mine turn, the cook said he's closing cuz no one tipping him. What am i supposed to do with my seafood since i wasn't from around there??? He said if we tip him and he'll constinue to cook. I feel like this is definitely highway robbery. I was forced to give him $5 as his tip. I will not come back here again and will not recommend anyone to go there. The Asian markets that i normally go have almost half the price they're charging there. Btw, while i was in line, the woman behind me told me that she paid $50 for the whole crate of her crab (although it's a little smaller than mine) but they charge you whatever they want to. Not an honest business place.

Se puede pasar una tarde fabulosa caminando por este lugar, visitando bares donde, en la mayoría, hay happy hour para cockteles que nos parecieron excelentes y a buenos precios. Al final, antes de las 7:30, vaya donde venden las langostas y camarones frescos, listos para comer, y no deje de probar el bisqué de langosta. Siéntese frente al río a comer y disfrutar del panorama...

The new development has reduced fish market to one fresh fish vendor, with limited fish cleaning. Sad state of affairs. Municipal market no longer exists, after operating since 1800's. Shame on Mayor Browser

The crabs I got were quite meaty. 👌🏽 The service on the uncooked side was really fast. The oyster guy was a bit rude but the oysters received were superb. You'll definitely get great value for your money.

Those crab prices have gotten ridiculous but all the other seafood is still great n they keep rhe lines moving.....no order sometimes so it can get a bit ratchet

The wharf is always my go to place for fresh seafood. It's changed so much, but it's the only sure place to get all of your fresh seafood in one place. I've been going here my entire life.

Loved the fish market! Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The cod that I bought was extremely fresh and maintained. The salesman gave me extra bags of ice to keep my fish from spoiling until I got home. Can't wait to go back

Best Oysters on the Wharf for the price

So much to choose from. Jumbo crab legs, Jumbo shrimp, and Tiger shrimp all INCREDIBLE!!! On my next visit I'll restock on these and try some new things. Staff was helpful and pleasant.

Not as robust as it was the last time I was here but the freshness of the seafood is still the best around. In addition you now have options of various restaurants and parking garages. Gentrification has definitely taken hold of this location with apartments units on the wharf that includes parking. New places to ventures in addition to getting your fresh seafood options to take home. Fish, shrimp, octopus, scallop, lobster, and of course the variety of crabs…crabs in abundance. Live blue crabs, crab legs, Dungeness crabs and the list goes on…by the pound, bushel or case; whatever your pocket can afford is available.
