I've been twice and both experiences were lack luster, mainly the food. Scrambled egg was so dry and tastless. The second time I got pancakes which were a very small portion for the price and they were kind chewy and seemed like they were microwaved or something. My partner loved it tho so there's maybe I just got the wrong things.

You want quiet ambience with amazing food and great location then this place is for you. Melt away in this canal side gem run by the fabulous Ju Ju herself, as beautiful and flamboyant as the food she serves and the restaurant it is served in. Pop in to catch Ju Ju and her little doggo mate Oscar! Service is amazing, staff are so polite and cheerful. This place is a true credit to our beautiful city Brum. Can not recommend highly enough. Wonderful afternoon of delicious food and outstanding service at Jujus. I had Thai Fish Cakes for starters - deliciously tangy - an explosion of taste with hints of the Far East - followed by baked salmon with lovely fluffy buttery mash, fresh vegetables and hollandaise sauce. Glorious! For dessert I indulged in homemade bread and butter pudding and custard, with a minor marmalade tone, which was exquisite. We also enjoyed copious amounts of delicious Italian Prosecco. Sending thanks to all the team at Juju’s for a splendid dining experience and the wonderfully warm welcome extended to us all.

Had such a disappointing visit this sunday. The reservation got mixed up and given to someone else, our food took over an hour to arrive and they had run out of half of the menu, no one checked in to see if the meals were okay, what we ordered was flavourless and if it had flavour it didn't taste good. I ordered what sounded like a shakshuka but was burnt toast, half of a half of avocado and some sesame based sauce. This is the worst meal I had out in years. No attempts were made to rectify or compensate for any of the above.

We used to be regulars at JuJus and I’d recommend it to everyone and anyone in the area. Jujus is owned by a mother and daughter, a true family business! Both Julia and Beatrice are absolute angels who will help you out and treat you to sparkling conversation. The food is exquisite. I’ve never had anything on the menu which wasn’t well thought out and beautifully balanced out. Portions are generous too! I’ve always found the desserts to be the best part. When JuJus runs events such as painting or murder dinners, they are always a lot of fun. They’re worth attending! Finally, the interior is funky and different. I love how the windows look out onto the canal, and how each wall is decorated with something cool. A Birmingham gem.

We walked into Ju Ju's on a very cold, windy Saturday lunchtime with three small children in tow and no booking - town was unexpectedly busy and we were much in need of somewhere to sit down and some hot food. Ju Ju's was fully-booked but did what no chain eatery would have done for us - they recognised our need and found a way to fit us in. We tucked into some very tasty fries and pancakes plus a delicious chocolate brownie and apple crumble, all washed down with a great coffee, tea and juice. Next time we're in Birmingham on a Saturday, we'll be booking ahead and getting lunch at Ju Ju's. This is the sort of business you dearly hope will survive the turbulent times we live in. Well done all at Ju Ju's.

I had pork belly which was melt in the mouth with the crunchiest, perfectly cooked crackling. Everything cooked to absolute perfection and the cauliflower cheese was just delicious. I was there with my daughter too and they very kindly catered for her too and sat us next to the unicorn just for her 😃 The owner, her daughter and all the staff were very attentive, and really just super lovely people. Perfect roast potatoes, beautifully cooked veg and tender, flavoursome meat (do try the brisket) The Yorkshire puddings are a fantastic vessel for the rightly acclaimed gravy Too full for pud Would give this 4.5 if I could. Just a point off for lack of WiFi and being initially seated at a table with chairs unsuitable for dining at comfortably (we were moved when we asked) and lack of guest beer. Exceptional Dining Experience: An independent Gem! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ju Ju's Cafe, Birmingham, for a Sunday lunch with my partner and 1 year old daughter, and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. This hidden gem exceeded all our expectations, leaving us with nothing but praise for the food, ambiance, and most importantly, the exceptional service provided by the owner, JuJu. From the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant, we were greeted with a warm welcome and inviting atmosphere. The tasteful decor and cozy seating arrangements added to the charm, creating the perfect setting for a delightful meal. The attention to detail like the quirky note on the door asking to keep it closed, to ensure it remains cozy, added to creating a truly memorable ambiance. The star of our experience, however, was the incredible food. The dishes we ordered were an explosion of flavours that tantalised our taste buds; I had the Beef Brisket and my partner had the Vegetarian Wellington, with a side of cauliflower cheese to share. The careful selection of ingredients and the expert culinary skills were evident in each perfectly cooked dish. Every bite was a testament to the chef's expertise and dedication to delivering an unforgettable dining experience. What truly set this restaurant apart was the personal touch provided by JuJu, the owner. Her warm welcome and genuine care for her guests made us feel like we were part of a big family gathering. She went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction, engaging with our daughter and making her feel special throughout our time there. JuJu's attentiveness and willingness to accommodate our needs made us feel valued and appreciated as customers. The level of service we experienced at Ju Ju's Cafe, is a rarity these days, and it truly made our visit memorable. JuJu's passion for her craft and her dedication to providing a top-notch dining experience shone through in every interaction. Her genuine enthusiasm and commitment to excellence were evident in the way she interacted with every guest, ensuring their utmost satisfaction, which will no doubt be a huge part of the reason she has been operating for the last 16 years, something almost unheard of for an independent restaurant. If you are seeking a comfortable dining experience that combines good, hearty, tasty cuisine, a delightful ambiance, and impeccable service, look no further than JuJu's Cafe, Birmingham. From the moment you step through the doors, you will be greeted with warmth and hospitality that will set the mood just right, for your visit. The location, decor and ambience are all really lovely, alongside the canal, amongst houses, with tables outside and in (that was our only criticism, people were smoking and vaping at tables around us, we know it's hard and might put those people off but it would be much more pleasant to enjoy your wonderful food without having to put up with people's smoke and chemical clouds. Please go smoke and vape free). The menu was inventive, with plenty of choice and the food didn't disappoint. Really lovely flavours and beautifully cooked. I went to Juju's for breakfast, hoping to enjoy a vegan-friendly meal. The quean never bargains, as the catchy phrase on the wall says, but she also never listens. I asked for a substitution of vegetable oil to butter for my omelette along with vegan sausage to be prepared, but she said that hash browns couldn't be made with butter. I agreed not have them at all, but when my omelette arrived, there was no sausage. I asked her where my vegan sausage was, and she told me that they couldn't cook that in butter either. She did not inform me of this when I ordered, nor did she offer me any alternative. She just dismissed me and walked away. I was very disappointed and felt cheated by the quean. She did not respect my choices and did not provide me with the service that I expected. The omelette was average, and toast accompanied with no butter or preserves. The only good thing about the meal was the coffee, which was hot and strong compliments of the whisky. I do not recommend Juju's for breakfast, especially if you are vegan or have any dietary restrictions. The quean is rude and unprofessional, and the food is mediocre at best. There are many other places in Birmingham that offer better quality and service for breakfast. Juju's is not worth your time or money. Response: Quean B is delusional, I never said I was vegan or wanted a vegan plate, I'm friendly because I don't eat pork. Number 1, I asked for 3 eggs, your lying you never said the kitchen was busy as an excuse to why your kitchen can't cook a hashtag brown and a fake hot dog on a grill in butter. I declined on the beans because your menu doesn't indicate if they have pork in them, I didn't get a hash brown, I didn't get a vegan sausage yet I paid $27 for an omelette and a cup of coffee with a shot in it....

I was unable to open the bottle to considerably effort and in an attempt the capping cut into my finger and bleed. I initially dismissed. After nursing the cut. I told the management. Got causal approach. Sauce is made locally and designed safety. Needs to be looked at. Busy atmosphere meant safety aspects overlooked. Can understand why it has good reviews for food and decor. Overrated as is price…one visit is experience enough not go back. Still nursing the cut now painful.

We have considerd Ju Ju's our local ever since they opened way back when. Ju Ju and her daughter have become real good friends and we know them well. We have watched Beatrice flourish from a young girl at school doing her A levels, and then through university and finally getting married to Richard and having her first son. Throughout all of this Beatrice always maintained a close interest in her mum's business until she eventually became a partner and manager of the restuarant. We have never been disappointed with a meal there and have had the pleasure of making other friends as well as local residents also frequent the place just as often as we do. Beatrice regularly puts on social events and activities for customers such as Murder Mysteries and Pop up Painting, both of which we have signed up for. She has also hosted jewellery making and other craft events and they also host private parties and events. Ju Ju's is also one of the few places that are open on Xmas Day and always ensure that people are well- fed with an amazing Christmas dinner and the best company, so no-one ever feels they are alone. I don't know what er would ever do if they closed. We would feel like we had lost a limb!

Cute cosy place by the canal. Nice vibe. However, a decaf cappuccino with oat milk cost £6.25!!!! £6.25!!??!! I was a bit grumpy about the menu saying there was a 50p charge for oat milk (I know this is normal, but given the margin on hot drinks I wish places would swallow the 6p or whatever extra cost). But then the bill had 75p extra for the oat milk, plus 75p extra for the decaf. Which totally wasn't on the menu. Also on the bill but not on the menu was a 50p each charge for tap water, labelled as a donation to water aid. It was 90 minutes between arriving and being served our veggie breakfasts (bit underwhelming - not many beans, one hash brown, those potato and veg sausages, cheap bread - basically greasy spoon quality at boogie prices), and the manager was very nice about giving us 50% off, and then not charging the cappuccino because the extra charges were 'a mistake'. She was very warm and friendly, and we got the impression their business model is overcharge, assume most ppl won't notice or complain, and then be effusively apologetic and give money off to those who do. Recommend you complain if the service is slow, and check your bill carefully.

Fantastic!! There's a corner store just before it as well which was handy. I turned up hungry and drenched, and a lovely cheerful waitress (they're all like that) immediately offered me a choice of table next to the front where there were groups, or a quieter table. I enjoyed being able to hear myself think whilst smiling at the groups of Canadian geese, who seemed very interested in what I was eating, though they couldn't see it. There's a perfect playlist, and that along with the ambient lighting, the warmth of the surroundings and of the staff really added to the experience. Tasty filling food and probably the best customer service I've had! Absolutely wonderful, thanks for ending the day on a good note!

Wow what a find. It’s very easy to get to by walking down the canals from the city centre. The food was amazing, I had the ‘Not fish and chips’ which is made up of several large battered halloumi pieces and fresh fries. I really enjoyed the food and the service was amazing. There is a good range of gluten free options. Very friendly staff, will definitely be back again.

We came to Ju Ju’s as it seemed to be good for gluten free options. The place had multiple different options that were either entirely gluten free or options of items that could be prepared to be gluten free. I had the posh chicken and chips which was unreal. We then shared the gluten free brownie which was incredible! I couldn’t tell it was gluten free which is just how good it was! The service was above and beyond friendly and prompt, we were never left waiting for anything. I would recommend this to anyone looking for somewhere unique, especially if you are gluten free.

Cute cozy place tucked next to the canal, a hidden gem as they say. Service was a little slow but very friendly; it was a Sunday we weren't in a hurry anyway. The roast dinner was worth the wait. I don't know what they do to the veggies on the side but they sure were a highlight. Our teenager was perfectly happy with the food as well. We parked in Brindley Place and walked over, easy peasy.
