Sister restaurant to springsteens. Amazing food, great portions (we took a doggy box home) prices are reflective of eating out in a semi fancy restaurant. Definitely would recommend for couples and families (we took our kids, kids portions are unreal)

We took are grankids the staff were great with the kids food was really good and was good value

Popped in for coffee and dessert. Nice and clean and very friendly. Had the spiced apple pie with ice cream which was bloody lovely

1st I had a large fry the bacon was over cooked and the mushrooms seemed to have a lot of water coming from them , 2nd the service was awful sat for close to 1 hr frm ordering to receiving food wouldn’t rush back

Whenever I come to work in Ireland, I always make sure to stop at Josh Macs for food. Very good food at very good prices. Excellent!

Food was good, there were four of us I tried a different dish, should have kept to usual. Thought it was expensive this time tink I'll leave it for a while.

Went for a Sunday lunch today. I had the turkey and ham and my husband had the beef brisket. Absolutely lovely! Staff were lovely and the service was great. Will certainly be back

3.5 reasonably good food to decent standard, portions above average size, friendly and helpful staff. My family arrived early celebrating some welcome good news to find the restaurant empty tonight but it began to fill up as we were leaving. Meal prices are a little pricey, but the portions were good. A few years back before they raised prices we could see the portions decrease but all in all, everyone was happy with the food they got. Will return but likely for special occasions

Went for lunch over weekend and I am glad we chose this place. Very clean and well maintained. Very well groomed, very courteous, and smiling staff. Food was also very good - we enjoyed our entire experience at Josh Macs. Highly recommended.

This is a great local restaurant in Carrickfergus. We were unsure where to eat while staying in the area and decided to give them a try. We liked it so much we went back the night after with family. It gave me the impression of an American Dinner style place. There was a good range of food and drinks. The starters and the mains were the highlight, but the deserts were also good. The staff were friendly and service was efficient. We would go back again if we were in the area again.

Called in for a deluxe hot chocolate. Had the same thing last year and it was just as good. Three mini flakes, a biscoff biscuit, extra marshmallows, a side of cream and a massive cup of hot chocolate. It was amazing and great value. Definitely the best one in the country. Loads of parking available and walking distance from the castle for any tourists. Thanks

I went here today for the second time. The food was delicious, we all enjoyed our food but unfortunately the food was let down by the service. The staff are friendly and pleasant but we waited for 20 minutes for someone to come and clear our table after our meal, no one came. There were several waiting staff walking around and could clearly see we had finished eating, so we decided to go elsewhere for dessert. Very disappointing.

I was in with my wife kids and father on sat the 10th of June and had one of the worst meals I have ever had in josh macks. After waiting for 20/25 mins for our food. My wife and father's chips were cold and then forgot my sons chips!! And had to ask for cutlery! And I ordered a chicken burger that was Over cooked and parts of it was uneatable!!! Definitely will not be back in a hurry!!!??

Great good at a very decent price. The waitress (Jess) was very friendly even though we'd been pestering her all evening. Will definitely be back again soon

Really good food, reasonably priced

We've been to Josh Macs so many times and it is always fantastic, both food and service wise. We went this evening and although the food was great as usual, we would have loved to order dessert however no one came near the table after our main course arrived. Our table wasn't cleared when we finished and after waiting 20 minutes we decided to go elsewhere for dessert. I will return as the food is always great but I was a bit frustrated that staff seemed to be more concerned with cleaning empty tables than actually dealing with guests.

We had a lovely dinner at Josh Macs recently, and couldn't fault it! The service was fantastic from Dean, who was so attentive, helpful and knowledgeable about his role. The food was delicious and the portions were more than we could manage - but we were sent home with the leftovers in a box, which was a lovely touch.

Had lunch here 11/04/23, first time visit. Bright and welcoming, great lunch menu with a bigger main menu if desired. Food was great and plenty of it! Service was efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Went here and the service couls habe been better waiting a long time for service, when the food turned up i had one of the burgers and im afraid it was one of the driest burgers ive ever had, ans for the price id have hoped for mu h better

Sliders were amazing, chicken amazing, Louisiana Prawns starter amazing as always. We had the starter with a side as a meal, it's definitely worth going for that sauce alone

I have dined here a few times with the family and I have to say the food is great and the Staff are the nicest I have encountered in quite a few years. Nothing is too much trouble and they seem to be happy and want to be there. I would recommend. Price is good too.

Plenty on your plate, I would struggle with a starter or a sweet. Check out their chicken burgers 😘

The food was well cooked but there was too much going on which meant the food didn't complement each other. The staff were friendly but didn't come near us except to take our order and serve the food which took about half an hour so i couldn't get a drink until the food was served.

Lovely dinner, chicken on a bed of mash with peppercorn sauce was beautiful, then had apple crumble, was nice but bit much cinnamon in it fior my liking and not enough crumble. Would definitely go back though

They have Changed their menu unfortunately, I preferred the choice of healthier sides and chicken breasts, its a bit more rich.

I can't fault Josh Macs at all. The food is always delicious, great portions, piping hot and the meals all served together. The staff are so friendly, really helpful and approachable, they seem. To genuinely care about guests enjoying their visit. And very fairly priced, too. It's a family favourite and I'll always recommend them to anyone.

Had a great time on my visit to Josh Macs.I made a very later reservation for a large group and they were very accommodating which I didn't expect. On my arrival I was greeted with a very warm welcome and I didn't even hv to wait 1 min...we were ushered to our table which had been set aside which was very good and the staff were excellent in our service... The food was plentiful and the portions were more than enough. The food also tasted great which in itself made for a much better experience. I would def recommend a visit here while you are in town. Great! Came here with the family for the first time to try it and we loved the food. Very fresh, good portions and decent prices. Only disappointment is it wasn't really spicy and I got the XX hot but I will be back again.

Cozy and warm space. We were overwhelmed by amount of dishes we wanted to try! Food was delicious and we found the price very fair! We are for sure coming back.

We visited Josh Macs on a Tuesday evening at 5pm, just at opening time. We were greeted and seated to our table promptly. Service was good and with a smile. Our Drinks order was taken while we decided on our main course. The menu was quite extensive, and typical grill style. Plenty of selection from steaks, ribs, sizzle plates etc. There was also a pizza menu but we were not getting pizza on this occassion. I opted for the classic chicken stack, that is battered chicken over mash peppered sauce and tobacco onions. My mother ordered the sirloin steak with thick cut chips. The food was very tasty and the service attentive. We ordered desserts which were just OK, they felt bought in opposed to made in house. I went for the sticky toffee pudding and my mother the chocolate brownie. Every dessert option contained ice cream. The desserts were just OK and this is the only reason this is not a 5* review. The restaurant was filled nicely by time were were leaving we will be sure to be back. Thank you for a lovely meal. .

Really really disappointed with the meals I remember when you used to get a descent portion and 2 sides then it dropped to 1 side ok things are getting hard but we all ordered to night and received meals I would feel bad offering to my child tiny tiny chicken breast with lettuce no salad 4 onion rings as they had no sweet potato chips it was absolutely terrible supposed to be xx hot as well but not even a little spicy used to love the place don't believe I'll be back

My daughter took me out for a meal, which I really enjoyed. Staff are very nice too. I would recommend Josh Macs to everyone. I would go back again .

Pretty decent grub although when they say XX Hot it's like mild in my view. Have asked a few times to make my Piri Piri Chicken hotter but unfortunately no one seems to get it.. I LIKE HEAT MAN!!!! .. Saying that, my meals have been nice and filling. Last time I had a brisket, chiabatta special which was tasty and huge. Thanks! My partner has asked the same about XX Hot spice with her Vegetarian Pasta TWICE and it still wasn't nearly spicy enough and again unfortunately the pasta was quite cold (sitting at the pass to long?) The staff are actually very nice and helpful people and I will go back again at some stage! Thanks and enjoy your meal.

I have been going here for a few years now & I ordered the Chicken Stack it came with three small goujons on it, very disappointed I mentioned this as I payed the bill & the member of staff said they had changed the menu. Won't be back anytime soon !!!

Busy but fast service, good filling meals

Staff very friendly and accommodating. The quality off the sausage and bacon needs to be addressed not great quality produce unfortunately.

I'd award six stars if I could. Such an improvement in the food. We had breakfast and amazing fudge cake to finish. This is one of the best frys I've had in a long time, dare I say well presented and it was very tasty too. The staff are all very friendly, taking time to chat freely, making the atmosphere and the whole experience a pleasure.
