The waitress was slow. Don't go on a Saturday, it's crazy busy. By the time we left it had slowed down a lot. Their food is good though.

I love having lunch here. The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious.

Nice place but they kept me waiting for 1 hour for half a sandwich and a soup...🤨

Great service and wonderful food! Prices for when I would expect them to be for such great quality. Portion size for half a cup of soup, and a sandwich was far larger than I expected them to be. Great value for the money! Desserts were incredible !

Wonderful lunch as always. Service incredible. Shocked at another table near us that ordered food and didn’t like it so expected something else to eat for free. They were very rude, demanding, and entitled. The only negative was having to listen to them complain about having to pay for the food they ordered! The chicken salad and lobster bisque both delicious!

I love love love this place!! I have been coming here for a long time with my friends and the food is always excellent and the service too. The quiche with the salad, soup, and homemade rolls are so delicious and don’t get me started about the desserts! We love afterwards, to go through all the little boutique shops. We always find something we like. You will not be disappointed!

We had reservations today at 1pm for party of 7 and arrived to a makeshift area of two tables combined next to another table with barely any room to move. After receiving my food and taking a bite out of my sandwich that I didn't like I asked my waitress, Shianna if I could swap out for another sandwich and she replied yes that shouldn't be a problem. She then returned stating that manager Ann stated that they were low on chicken salad and that if I wanted a new sandwich I'd have to purchase a new one. I then went to the front to speak with Ann, who said to me "I can't serve your sandwich to anyone else so yes you'd have to purchase new sandwich and just take your sandwich home to someone. After asking our waitress several times to see dessert tray to order desserts, she finally came to table with tray and majority of desserts were sold out. Lastly, usually gratuity added to groups of 6 or more is advertised on menu etc and it wasn't but when receiving my check gratuities were added. This was my first time patronizing this establishment and will definitely be my last.

Server Jeri was friendly and attentive. We arrived at 11am on a Monday to easy parking and no wait lines. We did have a reservation and were seated next to a warm fireplace. The lobster bisque is fantastic!

I've been going to Josephines tea room for my birthday every year for over ten years now. I love the atmosphere and the people. They have several stores for you to shop at while you are waiting to be seated or after your meal. They sell a variety of items from housewares to clothing, jewelry, and shoes. They are always booked, so you have to make your reservations early! The food is real simple but good, and they have a good variety of bakery goodies 😋. I always enjoy myself when I'm there, and this time was no different.

Met customers here at lunchtime. We did not have a reservation, but we’re seated right away. Two ordered the chicken salad specials. One ordered a quiche plate. I had a salad. The food was very good. Everybody loved it. There are some gift shops, but we did not have time to go in them because we needed to get back to work. I would recommend.

I love this place. The food is awesome and the desserts are out of this world. The shopping offers unique styles and is the place to go if you want to look impeccable. You couldn't meet a more friendly staff. Reservations are highly recommended for dining. So plan a day soon to dine and shop. You won't regret it.

Have been there many times and it’s always been a great experience. I brought my grandson with me first the first time. I wanted him to experience it. We waited 25 minutes after being seated for the waitress to show up while 3 different tables around us were seated and waited on right away. When she finally showed up, she asked do you know what you want? Didn’t mention any specials of the day, usually quiche, and seemed in quite a hurry. When we finally got our food an hour later the servings seemed quite small. Maybe they have cut back on sizes??? Anyway 2 1/2 hours later we left very disappointed. Not sure I will go back.

Fun place for a ladies lunch and boutique shopping, but unfortunately found the employees extremely rude and not willing to make the customer welcome. I began eating my lunch and then found a hair in my food. Once I showed the waitress she just said “that’s not ok”. I was not offered a new plate and the meal was not taken off the bill. When we called to ask to have another chair added to our reservation, we were rudely told absolutely not! After explaining we were driving a long distance and on our way, she finally added a seat (mind you the table we were sat at had plenty of room for extra chairs)! Once we arrived the qother half of our party was parking and we were told in an extremely rude fashion that we will take your reservation from you if you aren’t here at exactly the time noted, and we will NOT sit your group until every person has arrived. After being seated, we also noticed a surcharge for credit card usage noted on the menu. This is a cost of business- not a surcharge needing charged to the customer (rather ridiculous)! While I’m aware the holiday season is busy- it is never TOO busy for kindness, good customer service, running a business with the costs in mind, or friendliness! Do better Josephine’s!

Christmastime is our ladies' group annual luncheon. The food is good and reasonable and the service is great. We can always find something unique in their shops.

It was absolutely awesome! Pleasant staff, wonderful atmospher and delicious food. The gift shop was fantastic with such beautiful seasonal decoration merchandise! It was veyond my ecpectation!

It's always a great place to go to celebrate. The food is wonderful, the desserts are scrumptious, and their special pomegranate mimosa was delicious.

Myself and 5 other ladies met for our Annual Christmas lunch at Josephine's Tea House. We've been coming there to Josephine's for this gathering, at least 15yrs or more. This time I was very dissatisfied with the lobster bisque soup. It was lumpy, lacked flavor and was cold. Our reservations were for 11:30 AM, we were seated about 12:00PM and served our food about 1:00PM. I asked our waitress had their recipe been changed for the Lobster Bisque soup, her response was, no. Needless to say, I did not eat my soup. I feel that we got the bottom of the pot, because you closed at 2:00PM on that day. I also feel that your kitchen know's how their soup should be served and was not a concern. Something could have been done to smooth out the lumps, without losing the flavor and served warm, if not hot. Signed, Very dissatisfied

I have been visiting Josephine’s for many years now. It was previously an annual tradition that I took my grandma on for her birthday before she passed away. We would eat, get some desserts and then drive up to Pere Marquette to see the fall colors. We would dress cute and walk around all the shops til we were ready for a nap. We made small trek, about 30 minutes each visit one way but it has always been worth it. I have gone with friends as well, and continued to go for my gram’s birthday. The backstory has meaning, and it’s this… Josephine’s is a unique little spot. The staff always make us feel welcome, and though the dining space is crammed it’s nostalgic. It’s comforting, nice, but the employees are truly what make it worthwhile. I have seen some of the ladies there for several years and there is a younger gentleman I’ve seen a few times as well. They’re all customer oriented and friendly. Make a reservation. Do it two weeks in advance. Get in as early as possible! Let’s also not forget the desserts. If you thought about skipping that part, don’t… unless it’s medically necessary. Certain items run out unfortunately, this has been the only disappointment I’ve run into a few times even having earlier reservations, but there are always great backup options.

Had a reservation for a birthday celebration. Waited close to an hour for our food. Yes, we had a table outside but was in the sun for the most part. Wasn't even offered dessert. This is my 2nd time here. Quite disappointed 😞

We just love this place! Shopping before and after lunch is fun. The food is quality and plentiful and delicious 😋. I usually have enough to make a second meal. Our server was excellent.

Lobster bisque was exquisite, Caesar salad everything you could want. The ham special sandwich was enormous and delicious! Between the two of us we couldn't finish the huge slice of chocolate cream pie we tried to share. Excellent service!!

1st timer and I really enjoyed my brunch. I got the #2 special which was the roast beef sandwich on a delicious, soft bun with rosemary and additional herbs. It is complete with two sides of your choice. The meat although tender, lacked a little in taste. Please try the Almond Mocha angel food cake and Lemon Cheesecake soo delicious!! Great atmosphere will be back!

Came for brunch, it was busy but we were seated right away. Had soup (lobster bisque) and salad and sandwich (roast beef with au jus), fresh and awesome. Desserts were fabulous. Definitely recommend.

The food is wonderful!! The gift shop is a little pricey but a variety of things fo everyone.

Everything we had was amazing! Great little place for lunch with the girls. Huge portions, so bring the husband along. The salad and soup in the pics is the small chicken Ceasar with cup of lobster bisque; we thought the salad was the large on another table so super surprised to find it was the small. All of the desserts were delicious. I got the side of pasta salad with my club; I'd like the recipe😉.

Service was great, Cindy was our waitress, she is great, and suggested the best dishes and values! Broccoli cheese soup so good! And dessert, chocolate chip cheesecake, always get dessert!

This place is wonderful! Delicious food, great atmosphere and on top of that reasonably priced. We’ve been there before but just happened to be close by on Valentine’s Day so we thought we’d stop in and see if we could get lunch. We walked in at noon without a reservation and were seated right away. We live in Arnold Missouri, 59 miles away and it’s well worth the drive.

Love this place. Love the soups and salads. Great for a lunch with girlfriends and a day of bargain shopping in the adjoining boutiques.

Just like everything else the prices have gone up and the quality down. I purchased a turkey sandwich and two bowls of soup. $21.93. The Cheddar soup was runny and a bit on the salty side. When I got home I noticed that there weren't any condiments with my sandwich. It was just meat and bread. When I called to inquire the server said that's how the sandwiches come. You have to request the dressings . What a waste of time and money.

Great service, food is delish. A little too cramped but I've been lucky enough to sit by the fireplace. Definitely going to be a traditional Christmas brunch.

I think this restaurant is over rated. How can this be a tea room with a limited amount of tea selections. When you get the tea it is like the water came from the sink. My food was just OK. I don't know when I'll ever go back.

Outstanding! From beginning to end! My wife and I love Josephines! The servers are all energetic, courteous, and professional. All employees are! Our only complaint is that we don't get to Josephines often enough! Entire menu is ssooo ggooooddd! I have nothing to say about the desserts, except, they are all exceptional! Will be back soon!

I have been to this establishment many times. The service was not great & the meal was just alright. When told they only serve croissants on certain days really made the meal just alright. I also felt we were followed around in one of the shops which was disgraceful 😕

The broc/cheese soup was great, but the croissant was extremely hard, very small amount of chic/salad. The noise was extreme, and Everything took so very long!!!

Bright rooms, calm southern energy and heavenly desserts worth the trip to Illinois. Rihanna was our waitress and she made us feel really special. And also thanks to Cathy who helped me find the perfect gift.

Been coming to this place since they had one little dining area. They are a great place to escape from the world. Good gift and great deals for that special occasion piece for yourself if you know what I mean. 😉💜❤️If you haven't been you got to go.
