A lovely little place, friendly staff and good food. I just had a sausage butty and can of pop. Good honest food! It is clean and tidy with a relaxed atmosphere

Without a doubt the best chippy going foods nice large portions and cheap I’m a plant op and work all over and still yet to find a better chippy

Unfortunately we had a terrible meal. Tasted and felt as though it had been cooked quite a time before and kept warm. Batter soggy and chips hard. We will not be going there again. Very disappointed.

Never disappoints fish and chips are beauriful

Best fish and chip meal I’ve ever had! Spotlessly clean. Lovely pot of tea with jug of milk in a pot and jug that don’t drip! The fish was beautiful, lovely light crispy batter, served with a slice of lemon and tartare sauce, mushy peas and perfectly cooked chips! My parents have been coming here for twenty years, say no more!

Lovely chips & peas however, the fish was over done & not crispy, service fast so I think my fish had just sat a little to long resting.

I was asked to try Jones’ fish and chips and to be honest I do not know what they flavour the batter with on the fish but it is absolutely delicious! The portions are not over big and the right amount. The chips are golden brown and just right: crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The staff are great and offer fantastic service to ensure a quick turnaround. I have been here several times over the past few years and every time you can guarantee a tasty fish and chips.

Everyone's raves about this fish ND chip shop so we gave it ago instead of going to our usual (borras chippy) we wish we hadn't bothered. It was disgusting fish tasted rubbery like it had been there all day chips cold and soggy not even the dogs would eat it. photos attached

Easily the best chips in Wrexham Town centre, only beaten once you get to Gwersyllt fish bar, and even then its close. Sometimes grumpy staff, but always excellent food.

I've never met a Wrexham person who doesn't love a Jones Chippy ,Dinner, Tea any general time. Even Nantwich people mold people Americans (my family) please open longer as work commitments some times restrict my dinner time. 3 till 8 six days a week 24 hour if possible you are the top chippy going EVERYONE LOVES JONES. Young old new traveling all of us. Dilveries would be epic with in a mile or two of wrexham center. Keep Jones on the Map your traditionalists and real wrexham original wrexham we need you xxxx Please consider these ideas. Always busy because the fish and chips are great, mushy peas are excellent

Both fish and batter over cooked, chips ok the best was the curry sauce which I can probably get at most chip shops. This was a disappointing treat as I rarely use a chip shop.

Poor fish and very small. The batter was soft without any crispness and was very dry and over cooked. It was better last visit but wouldn’t recommend and we won’t be returning.

Traditional fare with all the trimmings. Expect a queue.

Never disappoints the fish and chips are lush

Arrived at 1pm and had no problems getting seated. Service was really quick and the food was, as always great with good size portions and very reasonable prices. The only downside for myself, as a wheelchair user, the door is rather narrow but that's not their fault given the building.

Prices have gone up - but quality has fallen. Chips stale on more than one occasion and hard. Fish not as big as it used to be either. Sad, as it was always the best but it’s not as good as it once was.

Excellent fish really tasty and fresh while fish. Chips were average and price is ok. Only negative was use of sachets for salt and vinegar and ketchup. Would recommend and visit again.

Very dry chips did not enjoy it at all.

Food fine as long as you don't want fish. Used to come here regularly, but on my last three consecutive visits the fish has been awful; grey and tasteless. Rest of limited covid menu is otherwise OK

Always smells so badly whatever I walk past. Had the chips which was okay but it was nothing special.

Had fish and chips from here on Thursday. In the past always thought these were the best in Wrexhan.However fish was overcooked (dark brown batter) and the chips were soggy and cold . It was 5.30 when they were bought so perhaps they were from earlier in the day and then heated up . On entering shops there was a pile of chips already cooked and don't know how long they had been there

I don't buy fish and chips very often but in years gone by (55 years) I would buy from this chippy .Yesterday we decided to have a takeaway from Jones chippy but very very disappointed in the quality. Fish was overcooked , dark brown in colour whilst the chips were cold and soggy I

Fish & chips are nearly always lovely, only thing that let's them down is the portion sizes, fish very small, chips small as well, would be prepared to pay a bit extra for larger portions. Fish & chips taste exactly the same as they did over 50 years ago, brilliant.

Several reviews recently have claimed poor quality, small portion sizes as well as food being cold. My wife and I have dined there on many occasions, most recently in December and again today 2 January. We have never been disappointed with any aspect of the service. Prices have increased of late and I wonder if that has triggered the recent negative reviews?

Best place in town to get chips, cheese and gravey! Ive gotten this same order in other places, some of them which I refuse to go to now (Jackos chips -check latest reviewsto find out why) and ive got to say the way these elder ladies get their way around this small kitchen and still have the best quality chips is impressive.

Been having fish and chips regularly for over 20 years and they where great ...but this last couple of years standards have dropped ,small portion sizes, large fish or small fish cant tell the difference in size !! Chips tasteless, always little portions and luke warm .the average man is still hungry after there portion sizes...really gutted not to be going again..

Such a shame this used to be the best in Wrexham. Portions are now a joke, ordered 2 large chips to share between 3 people, I asked the lady 3 times if she was giving me large portions as she put a scoop in a tiny square burger sized box and that was in, when I got to the car my partner sent me back in as he said definitely not large as looked more like an extra small portion and I was told the box was deceiving - definitely not deceiving just a very small portion! Fish the same, they seemed to have sliced 1 fish into 6 portions we were actually laughing at how ridiculous it was when we were eating. Shame as they taste fine but you shouldn't have to buy multiples to ensure you're having a normal portion. We're not greedy or large people, quite to opposite so I can't imagine how many portions those with larger appetites would need to order! We won't be back unfortunately.

2 fish and chips, curry, peas, large mug of tea and a can of Coca Cola £13. Absolutely great value. Freshly cooked and served by polite staff. Best Cafe in town and truely recommended. Also takeaway next door if you prefer to eat out!

It is one of the very oldest and traditional fish&chips.. The taste in the shop is much appreciatable and the staffs out there are very friendly. Recommended place when your mind says to have a fish. They serve the traditional fish&chips with many other varieties of other dishes as well...

Called in for lunch today. Two meals ordered...With bread and butterAlways love my bread cut across and not diaganol as you cant make a decent chip butty out of a triangle...And so we ordered such... Bread & Butter arrived... arrrgh ..triangles...We pointed this out and she promptly changed it. Our meals arrived. Nice, hot and tasting like chips should taste... and to my surprise.. nice mushy peas with taste instead of being watery.Price wise ...very reasonable.Staff...quick service...So all in all a nice quick lunch...Recommended.... Thought I'd buy some chips from here, as there were plenty of seats free. Took my food into the seating area, only to be rudely told that I couldn't eat them there, because they were "takeaway and that's different". Why wasn't I asked if I wanted to eat in, or takeaway then?!" This meant that I had no option other than to stand out in the street and eat. Particularly frustrating, as there were so many empty seats inside. I guess that should have served as a warning, a chip shop empty on a Friday evening! For the sake of a seat, you have lost my business and I will tell others not to bother.

Came here for a quick lunch and wish I didn’t bother ordered a fish and chips. The fish was small and tasteless and the chips were cold too. Will not be returning in a hurry.

Called in at Jones’s for lunch with my Son during the week. We decided to eat inside the cafe rather than getting a takeaway.Fish and chips with a cup of tea. Food was delicious. Lovely batter on the fish. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend.I will definitely return.

Following my review of last July, I have dined at this restaurant twice every month and cannot find anything to criticise. On every occasion, the food is served freshly cooked and piping hot. Fish and chips to perfection. Travelers should note that this restaurant offers many other dishes such as breakfasts, burgers and kiddies meals.

Love the food but disappointed at closed at 3.45 on Wednesday when it states 4.30 on website.. Wasted journey

Best food in the area great fish and chips is a regular but not everyone has the curry sauce it’s lovely and definitely improves your meal really fast.It’s not open as often as it should be.and price keeps gradually creeping up.If your in the area around dinner/lunch time if you want a quick bite I would recommend a cone of chips with vinegar and it’s easy to walk around town with.And also ask for scratchings

I had the hearty breakfast. It was cold. made even colder by people opening the door a child being sick in front of me. Then laughing noisy. It was very unpleasant and I had to leave.

Best fish, chips and peas I've ever had anywhere. Food is always freshly cooked, it's has to be the queues are out the door in the evening. Don't be put off by that, the service is quick due to the amount of friendly staff they have on. Portions are probably slightly smaller than other chippies but that's more than reflected in the price. Where else can you get fish, chips and peas for a fiver, or less if you get the small chips! The only downside is they are only open on Thursday and Friday evenings, focusing mainly on their daytime trade.

Called here on the way home from holidaying in South Wales. Thought it must be good as customers were queuing out of the door. We weren't at all disappointed; one of the best chippy teas we have had for a long time!!

For consistently good quality fish and chips at reasonable prices this restaurant is hard to beat. Reputed to be the beast in Wrexham and I can't dispute that. Many other items are on offer such as breakfasts and snacks.

We visited Wrexham Eagles Meadow shopping centre to go to the cinema.
