Had a lovely meal here tonight, the cheese soufflé was to die for! Scallops perfectly cooked, 3 out of 4 of us had fillet or sirloin the quality of steak was absolutely fantastic, cooked to perfection , .. very nice service from fernanda and Emily.. can’t recommend this place highly enough, definitely going to be our regular place to go

We were fortunate enough to get a table here on their opening night following a post festive holiday, we were not dissapointed. having previously eaten at Andrew Fairlies 2 michelin star at Gleneagles the food at Jon and Fernandas came a very close second. the service was very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive, the food was absolutely off the scale, from the presentation to the flavour combinations with all the dishes and the menu choice was fantastic. the atmosphere in the restaurant was good and the surroundings were absolutely spotless. cannot wait to return when we are next in Auchterarder.

My wife and I we’re staying at Gleneagles for a long weekend and wanted to try a local restaurant. What a lovely surprise, excellent food, service and ambiance. We had a starter and main each. I had the soup of the day (a chicken broth), followed by venison for my main. I rarely eat venison, but find many chefs over cook it. As a local ingredient, the chef knows how to cook it really well. He tables are spaced well, service is warm and welcoming but not overwhelming a nice balance, that is hard to achieve. A nice gem in a lovely long weekend.

Lovely restaurant and definitely well worth a visit in Auchterarder. Food was fantastic. Brocolli & stilton soup was very tasty and the herb scone was very light. Black pudding & scallop starter went down well at our table. Main courses- steaks, lamb & venison all great. We didn't manage desserts but had coffee and great tablet. Staff were great, very attentive. Jon came out to chat to staff at end of the evening & my friends were impressed by this. Will definitely be back.

A warm welcome from Fernanda, great food cooked by Jon and friendly efficient service from the team. Sensibly priced and in our view, great value and if you're looking for somewhere to dine in Auchterarder, you must give this restaurant a go.

I checked the menu on line to prepare for my visit to the restaurant and did something I have never done before……. I read the reviews! After being a diner there for over six years I couldn’t believe some of the reviews and feel compelled to speak up. That Fernanda was referred to as “that woman” was totally derogatory and I can’t speak highly enough about her. She is a wonderful person and both Jon and she take the reputation of the restaurant very seriously. I got fed up waiting for reasons to celebrate so I have started going on my own. This is something I would never have thought I would ever do but because of Fernanda’s kind welcome, I am totally at ease. Yes, it’s a small bijou restaurant so it gets noisy and for the sake of other diners, she will politely ask parties to keep the noise levels reasonable, but she still wants people to have a good time. As for the food, chef Jon is amazing. Now, I’m not just a foodie who thinks every meal is the best ever. I have eaten in fine dining restaurants around the world, literally, including Andrew Fairlie’s and I rank Jon with the very best. If you do happen to read negative comments please consider how the good comments outweigh them. If you have anything you are not happy with, please talk to them. They are two hardworking people who take great pride in their business and will do their utmost to rectify things. I for one have never been disappointed and look forward to every visit.

Fabulous place for a special meal. Food looked & tasted wonderful. The service was exemplary. No pretensions; just first class throughout the evening with lovely little extra touches. Can thoroughly recommend cheese soufflé & scallops with black pudding for starters; then rump of lamb & loin of venison as main courses; then Tarte tatin & ice cream for dessert.

I have eaten here numerous times and the quality never drops...absolutely one of my favourite restaurants. Fantastic food and service every time.

What a fantastic evening. We were on holiday and booked here for our evening meal. We ate on Wednesday 5th July. The food was superb, the service brilliant - attentive but not overbearing, the decor classy - and the tables well spaced. To wrap things up, the Chef - Jon - came out at the end of the evening and chatted to the diners in turn. If you love good food and good service I can't recommend this enough.

Absolutely amazing food like previous recommendations this is not a place to be missed in Auchterader, they have only a small restaurant with limited covers have a great confirmation service. Great husband and wife team with some help and the ambiance, service is to a great standard. The menu is extensive and the prices are very reasonable along with good portion size. My husband and I always like to treat ourselves to a meal at Jon and Fernanda’s when we are in the area on holiday. We were going to go on the Friday but changed to the Thursday evening as it seemed a little quieter. There was only one other table booked so as Jon said, we had our own personal chef! The food was fabulous as always. The smoked duck salad was hearty and the scallops sweet and they just melted in your mouth. We both went for the steak which came with generous accompaniments and was nicely complemented by a peppercorn sauce. It’s always nice to have a chat with Fernanda too - she’s the perfect hostess. Thanks again for another lovely meal and we’ll see you next time!

It is very interesting to read the good number of diners that come from Gleneagles Hotel or Glenmor (The Gleneagles Lodges.) It is a credit to this restaurant that their food is preferable to Gleneagles. We had a great meal tonight - the service was attentive: the food was superb = all in all, an excellent night out. Gleneagles - eat your heart out!!!

Dined here for a birthday celebration as a table of 6, seated in a lovely quaint room with lovely service, there is nothing that is too much of a problem for the front of house staff and they will always come back and check if anyone needs anything else. The food was absolutely delicious, we all had a variety of the dishes on offer and not one person could fault a single thing because the food was delicious. I personally have never had duck anywhere near as good as what I had here. I had the venison for my main and venison is quite a tough/thick meat but this venison just melted in your mouth and oozed flavour and moistness. Delicious. The chef is also very accommodating and is happy to add and takeaway parts of the dishes to suit everyone’s individual tastes. Desserts are definitely worth saving room for as you won’t be disappointed. If you’re in or around the area then you must spend an evening there as you won’t be disappointed, great for couples, and groups of any size as I’m sure they will accommodate where they can. Yes the prices are more than your normal place but this is an experience and worth every penny. Keep up the good work!

Had the most delicious supper here during our 2-week cycle tour in Scotland. Food wonderful, excellent wines and great service.

We first became aware of the fantastic food here during the pandemic. The wonderful team offered meals to hear at home, delicious restaurant fine dining at home made lockdown almost bearable. Since the restaurant reopened we have visited to experience the high quality of the food and wines with the atmosphere and service that is second to none in the area. We went on our most recent visit in May 21 with high expectations which were more than met. Sublime food from Jon’s Kitchen paired with some fantastic wine and service from Fernand and her team.Five starts doesn’t do justice.This is not a restaurant to go to for a simple dinner, it’s an experience that is to be savoured where customers enter and friends leave.

This is our favourite restaurant when we stay at the Glenmore houses for a week in May! Due to the lockdown measures the Restuarant was shut but still doing take away meals!So we managed to get a fabulous takeaway on their last evening before they shut for a well earned rest! We look forward to the whole restaurant experience in 2022!!

We usually visit Jon and Fernanda for our valentine . However due to lockdown we ordered their Valentine meal well in advance as I was certain they would be sold out . All the courses were exceptional ,I especially like my starter of Duck wonton with noodles , and all the other courses for Isabel and I matched this . Jon ‘s resturant does not open on a Sunday but at these challenging times one has to make the best of a bad situation so isabel and I celebrated on the Saturday with the perfect meal , Prosecco with Portuguese cherry liquor and our own romantic setting . I just hope that the people who like fine dining did not miss Jon’s Valentine Takeaway

First time our friends and ourselves had eaten here. We had tried the 'take away' service during covid which was excellent - both for the food and value. This restaurant is on the main road leading through Auchterarder and you could well miss it which would be a great shame. On entering you are either seated in one of two rooms both accommodating approximately 20 persons. Food is of a very high quality and the choice for all courses is varied and interesting.Staff are attentive and all covid 'restrictions' are in place. It is lovely to have a restaurant of this quality within 20 minutes of Perth. We look forward to our next meal.

Again we went to J&F, for dinner, only 8 were allowed, but we all wore our masks and used gell for our hands, and had a brilliant time, again the food is fantastic, so fresh so good, this was for my wifes 70th birthday, i had mine also here in J&F, and again was 100% brill food , service great from the staff, you have to try it to no how good the food is,i can assure you you wont be disapointed at all, thank you J&F,and staff, we will be back very soon.

First meal out for months after lifting of some of the COVID restrictions, and what a delight. Very cosy “front room” atmosphere and a great menu. Particularly enjoyed the scallops starter, and followed this with sea bass and salmon main. Very carefully prepared and excellent service. Extensive wine list and altogether very enjoyable night.

Met up with friends for a night out. The food in this restaurant was fantastic. I had one of the most beautifully cooked sirloin steaks I have ever had and the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. The service was brilliant. We were not rushed in any way and they had really thought out the COVID protection system so we felt really safe. Would go again without any hesitation and would thoroughly recommend.

We made a repeat visit after 5 years as a group of 6 while staying in Crieff and it was as good if not better than the first time. We had a very warm welcome from Fernanda on arrival and shown to our table which coincidentally was the same table as last time. Two of our group opted for starters of soup and “Lady Mary “ cheese which were both delicious while the rest of us tucked into the tasty bread. Mains, we were almost unanimous in choosing the duck with one person choosing Steak. All of the mains were delicious and plates totally cleared. Fernanda brought a bowl of chips for us all to share and made sure it was refilled. We all had desserts, tarts tatin, pana cotta and salted caramel and chocolate tart. I think the fact there was not a crumb left on any plates bore testament to how good everything was. .......... and finally history was repeating itself for our group as we had the amazing news that a granddaughter had arrived for Jean & Gordon in our group...... just like our previous visit when we were awaiting news of our grandson. Amazingly Fernanda remembered and insisted both then and now that we accept a bottle of wine to celebrate. Such a very kind touch. We will definitely be back and hopefully sooner rather than later.

We were staying nearby & were looking for a nice restaurant. We were so lucky to choose Jon & Fernanda’s. The food, ambience & service was simply amazing. Freshly sourced ingredients cooked beautifully. We can’t thank Jon & Fernanda enough for their wonderful hospitality.

A revisit from our visit in June last year and the restaurant is still amazing . The menu has plenty of choice and the food is simply stunning. We stayed at Gleneagles and this surpasses the Strathern restaurant at half the price! I had scallops followed by rump of lamb my wife had filet steak in brandy and mustard cream sauce simply delicious fresh local ingredients good to perfection. The subtle way Jon the chef prepares dishes with beautiful favours is a delight. Your only disappointment will be if you fail to add this restaurant to your visit.

Ate here recently and decided afterwards, not before, to browse the very minimal negative reviews. Most just didn’t get it and decided throwing toys out of their pram was there best option.Sure, it’s not a children’s place(there are plenty of them). Sure, it’s set up for intimate conversation not rowdy girls(or boys) nights out, and sure, it’s menu could not be described as ‘adventurous ‘.What you do get here is some of the finest cooking of ingredients of the highest quality in an environment sublimely comfortable and welcoming.It is a gem and the owners should be proud of what they have achieved in a market awash with places to eat.It is so worth booking a table here.We will be back again very soon.

For the nth time a superb meal , intimate surroundings, a friendly family owned restaurant serving top grade plates. We have never been disappointed here, unless I have been late in making a booking and found no space available.

Lovely meal, and Fernanda is delightful. We were staying at Gleneagles Hotel and went here to celebrate our anniversary. The menu choices were very nice, food delicious, and the dessert special was an excellent tarte tatin. I would definitely go back.

Visited this lovely place last night. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is split between 2 intimate spaces, nicely decorated and doesn’t feel cramped at all. Started with the scallops, followed by Barbary Duck. Flavours great, wine was excellent, service prompt. Definitely recommend coming here if you can get a table!

Absolutely first class food coupled with first class service. A lovely relaxed setting in a smaller, cosy restaurant. Booking is a must as they book up quickly. I just LOVE this restaurant and have no qualms about recommending it.

Had a family meal here with my brother and his wife, the menu has a great selection for most, my wife and I had the beef and was cooked to perfection, my first visit here and we will return.

We had reservations through our Toyota group while staying at Gleneagles and we all had our American palates dyeing for something tasty. I especially struggle with Gluten/dairy/seafood intolerance and Fernanda sure had me covered in all aspects. My meal was made to perfection. Portions and starters to dessert were made to perfection and filling. Would highly recommend a visit you will not be disappointed.

We are frequent visitors to Scotland and have been here for ten days on this current trip. We have stayed in nice hotels (e.g. Gleneagles) and dined in very nice restaurants, and this was by far the best dinner of the trip. Beautifully cooked food, local ingredients, interesting preparations. The restaurant is small, only eight tables, but that’s why they can take care of you so well. Go.

After having a disastrous meal at another local restaurant last week while on holiday in Auchterarder, we did a google search for top restaurants in the area and came across Jon and Fernandas... so glad we did. From the moment we stepped inside until we left at the end of the evening, every need was attended to by Fernandas and her waiting staff. Every course was delicious and plentiful and Jon came out of the kitchen at the end of the evening and spoke to the clients still at their tables, a lovely and professional touch. We are only sorry we didn’t discover you earlier in the week. Would highly recommend

We had an excellent meal at Jon and Fernanda’s. All the food, but especially the filet steak was superb. The service was impeccable. Knowledge of staff brilliant and we can thoroughly recommend. Oh , and try the butter tablet at then end of the meal made by Fernanda herself :-).

The food was amazing and the staff very nice and very attentive. It's a pity the other table of 4 in the room didn't read the first page of the menu where is says the ethos of the restaurant is to set a quiet atmosphere and to respect the other diners, they were loud and totally out of order in such a small environment, so ,much so that we left early as we couldn't hold a conversation with each other as we had to shout to be heard over them. The food was amazing but it have to say that we would think twice about going back if we had to endure the same noise.

We have had two first class meals at this wonderful restaurant this week firstly with the family and then on our own. As usual from the moment we walked in the service was first class the food was excellent helped by a very comprehensive wine list. For people staying at Gleneagles this restaurant is a must visit and you won’t be disappointed. We will be back next year unless we can pull in a visit to Gleneagles later in the year.

This is a very small friendly restaurant that provides first class service, delicious cuisine and a wonderful experience. There is a good selection in the menu and all dishes we had were excellent. It is an extremely popular so booking is probably recommended. We will definitely be back.

Whenever my wife and I visit friends in Auchterarder we usually have supper in this excellent restaurant. From an extensive menu we often choose their freshly prepared and very tasty Scallops. They have a fine selection of wines and beers. Service is first class and their prices are very reasonable. Should you be in Auchterarder I recommend that you dine in this top class restaurant.

We booked a table for my husband’s birthday celebration but said he did not like a lot of fuss. Fernanda made us all so welcome and had tiny birthday confetti on the table plus one candle in his dessert but no singing etc so he was delighted. The service was wonderful from both Fernanda and her staff. Very efficient but pleasantly and quietly friendly. The food was delicious with some lovely interesting recipes put together by Jon. Like Masterchef and we all got very excited about what was going to arrive and the presentation. We were staying at the apartments at Gleneagles and dined there too but we all agreed that our favourite meal was this one. Well done Jon and Fernanda and thank you again for the most lovely evening.

On recent golf tour to Gleneagles, pre-booked table mid week - purely based on previous TA reports. Having visited the area over many many years, I had never heard of this restaurant - WOW! What a miss!!!!! From the very first phone call reservation to our leaving the restaurant, our experience was outstanding. Jon & Fernanda are clearly very very well versed in customer entertainment, service and cuisine of the highest order. We had a truly superb meal & dining experience. Originally, even mid week in April, the earliest available table was 8pm - which with a young baby was not our favourite slot. But purely based on the TA feedback we decided to go ahead. Jon received a late cancellation & made the effort three times to contact me & advise of an earlier available slot. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by all the staff and made to feel very welcome. A private dining area had been reserved for us, as we had young baby in buggy who would probably favour being out the way. We had not asked for this - but never the less received it. A perfect venue for a family of 8 with baby. drinks orders were promptly taken & warm bread to nibble on provided (sadly, I find this a must to start the evening). The menu is not extensive but looked excellent.

Every year when we visit Glenmor we enjoy dinner at Jon and Fernandas. This year we chose to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday at Glenmor and celebrate with 10 family and friends at the restaurant.
