A great pub for food. We came for my boyfriends birthday lunch. Beautiful presentation and delicious. Great service and friendly staff. We have been meeting friends here every year as it's a convenient half way point. The service is always excellent and the menu looks good. However a 'pork steak' turned out to be one reheated and therefore tough thin slice of pork loin - last weekend carvery leftover? and the battered fish unusually still had it's skin on. Our friends both had liver and bacon which looked good. Disappointing and not value for money this time

We stayed two nights DB&B at the end of May. It was a great price, and had no complaints at all! They have a new chef, Sean, who was very helpful. He rustled up Gluten Free Fish & Chips for my wife, which wasn’t on the Menu! I had Mackerel pâté, which was lovely. Some great GF puds too! The room was quiet and comfortable, located in a separate building. Comfortable 5’ bed and super “rainfall” shower. We would definitely stay again!

Visited last night for a meal with husband and son. Haven’t eaten here for a while but tempted by the new chef and we were not disappointed! I had a lovely steak cooked just how I liked it - well done but not cremated! Husband had the chicken from the specials board and said it was really nice and the vegetables were superb. Son had the sausages and was equally impressed. All beautifully presented and clearly fresh. Will definitely eat here again and recommend the new chef and his team highly. Service always great - friendly and attentive staff.

This place had been recommended previously and one of our group had visited earlier in the week and we therefore agreed someone else could "do" the sunday roast. The presentation of our meals was lovely and food was plentiful and hot. However the roast potatoes we were served had obviously got burned on one side and had black bottoms - a shame. The men thought the steak and kidney pie superb and the ladies loved the beef and chicken meals. Desserts are a little different and most enjoyable. Lemon and Lime crunch is a cheesecake and decidedly mmmmmmm. Orange and raspberry bread and butter pudd equally so. Hot fresh coffee was the perfect ending to the meal. Intend to visit again, just hope I don't get put into the jokey "Naughty Corner" seats for saying about the burnt offering.

Ok, so this is my second visit to this establishment, my first was not that memorable, so I had high hopes this time around that the food might of improved, but I was sadly mistaken. I had the Gammon, which was around 1/4 inch thin, over cooked with large fat rind, not the juicy thick Gammon I had envisaged!! Chips were usual pub fodder and the entire dish was extremely Overpriced for the quality. The staff were pleasant enough, although one of our guests had his entire plate accidentally dropped and not much of an apology from the waitress, in fact she hardly flinched and said very little!! It is my own opinion but I believe this Pub relies on the Senior customers who seem to frequent it to keep it trading, it would be nice if they catered for everyone, not just Seniors. This Pub could do so much better if they just made a few small changes, we live in hope.

We have been calling in for dinner and especially Sunday lunch for years. Having gone again recently, I can recommend the delicious food and the staff also seem to do their best (it can get very busy), but I must point out the once continual failing. Almost every time we go we order desserts (the pub has a great reputation for desserts in particular and deservedly so) but always order tea with our pudding, sometimes ordering the mini desert that comes with a pot of tea included in the price. So often the dessert arrives promplty but the tea never turns up. On more than one occasion I've had to get up out my seat, go back to the bar and ask for the tea again, they always apologise and then bring it over, but at these prices customers really should not have to ask for it over and over again. Apart from that it is a great dining experience, I would recommend eating there, but maybe bring your own flask of tea as it's probably the only way you'll get any without starting an incident.

We visited as a group to this charming English Pub. While not overly busy (Monday night) the staff were welcoming and friendly. The menu is reasonable and would satisfy most tastes. Prices are quite good so you will not feel priced out of this venue. There were a number of specials on offer. While most of our group thought their meals were good a couple thought the food a bit dry. Overall a well presented and friendly Pub to eat with friends.

The food we had was really tasty and well priced. The banoffee pie was gorgeous. Definitely worth a visit . A good selection of ales which pleased my husband.

We frequently use this pub as it is a good centre for walking in Durford Wood & we are rarely disappointed.Annabelle must have been unlucky, I had the Coronation sandwich on very fresh granary accompanied by piping hot Tomato & Basil soup, neither of which could be bettered.

This is a traditional pub in Hill Brow on the Hampshire/West Sussex border and has plenty of space for parking. We were met with a friendly welcome and shown to our table to peruse the menu which offered a nice variety of choices. The food was good with generous portions, reasonably priced, and with good service. The only disappointment was the mashed potato accompanying my main course was somewhat 'crusty' which seemed to indicate it was probably being kept warm before being served. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable lunch and a place I would return to.

Stayed here whilst having to go to a family funeral. So we're not in the best place at all - but the staff made us feel so welcome & the accommodation was 5/5!A sad event for us but the level of service & hospitality was sublime.Had breakfast twice & we can recommend the poached eggs for sure! Perfect! Had an evening meal too, I had curried chicken & my wife had steak, both cooked to perfection & just what we needed after a long sad day.Bravo to the crew at the Drovers! We'll be back soon :) :)

I was quite excited about eating here as have driven past here for years and I noticed a big Trip Advisor Banner emblazoned outside , progress indeed I though. To be honest despite the lovely staff and great service I found the food just shy of average. The Coronation Chicken Sandwich was served on nearly-stale bread, no garnish or anything to tart the plate up at a all. The Lentil and Bacon Soup I tried to find some flavour in but to be honest I think Baxters do a better one. I was seeking flavour in both, I am not a smoker and neither do I need to season my food with salt before eating it, really disappointing.

We picked this as a convenient half way location to meet up but what a good choice! We had a leisurely lunch - good service, not rushed. The food was excellent and of home-made quality - such a pleasant change from standard pub grub.Good choice of beers too.

We booked early evening, 7pm as there were two smaller children in our party. Checked the website menu before we went and liked the look of itThe menu had changed dramatically since our last visit, and the food advertised on the website was not available, the selection was much more limited, however there were three specials on the board which looked very enticing.Seven of us chose our meals by 7.20 pm and our drinks came very quickly. However one of our starters and two of our mains were no longer available and we had to choose again. So we chose again and another of the mains from the menu was not available, again very disappointing. My second choice starter which was roasted vegetable soup was disappointing, my main was terrible. Sausage and mash. The sausages were almost cremated and tasted of charcoal. My husband chose steak and kidney pie which, was very good filled with meat and very tasty, my brother chose the chicken and ham pie which he also said was very good

If you need a break and also need to enjoy yourself then this is the place to be, the staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and spacious and relaxing, there are plenty of walks to do from this location. The food is really good and they have a wide selection to choose from all freshly made so have patients and wait as it worth it, like I say the staff make you feel at home both with them and the locals, or you could just hide in the corner and have a nice quite drink, they have plenty guest ales and a rather large selection of wines and whisky's so something for everyone. The breakfast you will enjoy it's always done to your liking whatever you want weather its a full English or a continental I thoroughly recommend the whole stay.

13 of us went for lunch for my sisters birthday and we had a wonderful time. The staff were all so friendly and professional and looked after us so well. And it was a welcome relief to get a different kind of pub menu the food was delicious. Only disappointment was that the ribs were a little dry. But everything else perfect and the location stunning - a great playground opposite with goats to entertain the kids after lunch. We look forward to going back.

The Ivy Chichester Brasserielocation-icon89-91 East StreetBritish

We were visiting Chichester on the 1st of March and wanted some lunch. The Ivy looked nice so we decided to have lunch here. We were seated quickly and we were offered drinks. £9 for a glass of Prosecco (could have bought a bottle for that) We hadn’t even had time to look at the menu properly. I ordered the Linguine and the waitress advised us to share it as it was a large dish for lunch. We also ordered some bread. The Linguine was very salty indeed, I could not eat it, there was so much salt. Even the bread had salt on it. About 1pm we ordered crêpes, Suzette only to be informed they had run out…Seriously, at 1pm?? So had to order something else. Then the waitress came and removed an empty glass from the table, we weren’t asked if we wanted anymore drinks or if we wanted anything else. It felt like the staff wanted us to leave so they could get another customer seated. Naturally we complained about the inedible Linguine and it was taken off the bill, but the waitress said it does state it is salty on the menu. I since looked online at the menu and it does NOT say anything of the sort. Overall a terrible experience, and one we will not be repeating in this restaurant. Service and food should be much better for the prices charged here and they had the cheek to include a service charge for which we were not given the choice of whether we wanted to pay.
