JoJo's in Canterbury

Had a wedding reception, followed by the evening function, in this restaurant. Jojo himself was a superb host, staff were a credit to him. Food, from canapés thru to the wedding breakfast, plentiful and tasty. Made a super experience for a lovely occasion. Thanks guys

Our son and daughter-in-law hired JoJos for their wedding reception for about 70 people on 6th April 2024 and it was brilliant! The food was delicious and plentiful, and we loved all the different meze dishes that kept being brought out. Jo Jo, Nic and all their staff were very friendly, kind and helpful, and we had a fantastic day, and evening! We'd definitely go back again to enjoy their food, service and wonderful views!

What an amazing restaurant! A must visit when in Whitstable. The staff are welcoming and friendly (Hanna served us, who was absolutely delightful and gave great advice on both food and drinks.) The Meze selection we had was truly scrumptious, freshly prepared and presented beautifully. Whilst we had our leisurely girlie lunch, we were checked on regularly, not hurriedly and made to feel very welcome. Cannot recommend highly enough! What a gem of a place! Thank you for an exceptional lunch.

Well what can I say we havs been wanting to visit here for ages ,we Don't live in the area but was staying in local hotel !managed fo get a table for the Saturday night !we were booked for 6.45 and that was already busy !a lovely lady came over and explained hownot works ans how we should order the dishes!!which was very helpful !she said it comes out in no particular order and if we feel we Don't have enough we can order extra at any time !! We ordered humous and flatbread ,mutton koftas ,serrano ham croquettes all absolutely delicious with so many fresh flavours !we also had a lovely bottle of red and a beautiful pudding !! Service was freindly and not rushed and the restaurant itself is lovely! Would highly recommend and we will be back

This is a review of a meal that we had on Saturday 9th March, a table for 6 eating at 8:15pm. We arrived at around 7:30 and met at your bar, which is a lovely area to meet and chat. The barman asked us for our drinks orders and cheerfully served them to us with a "ere you go mate!"... The same gentleman told us that our table was ready, and this was pointed out to us, "it is over there", we sat down and waited. After a while I went to the bar and ordered some more drinks for the table, as nobody had been to speak to us. At about 8:45pm, I again went to the bar and asked for some menus and some water to be brought to the table, as we had still been completely ignored. The menus were finally brought out and we were then asked shortly afterwards what we wanted, which felt rushed. We made our choices and questioned the server if that would likely be enough for our table and was informed that should be enough but if we need more, we could easily order more. The half-mixed meat board was ordered and came out immediately and the 3 additional sides came out some time later. This was not nearly enough for our table, and so we ordered again, half mixed meze this time and some other sides, which was sufficient. Whilst the food was enjoyable (albeit disjointed), the service was poor. At one point one of our table dropped a knife to the floor, I asked a passing server for some help and was told, “one moment”, unfortunately that moment never came and she never came back. We asked another server, and a knife was provided. At the end of the meal, we were asked how everything was and we informed them that it wasn’t great, and we were unimpressed, the response was, “we were very busy at the time, it has been a busy lunch and evening, and everyone is tired!”. All in all, as a disappointed local resident I will not be returning to your restaurant and will dine elsewhere.

I’ve been wanting to try here for a while and finally went for lunch with friends on a Saturday lunchtime - it was delightful, super relaxed, lovely setting, delicious food and friendly staff, couldn’t ask for more! We will be back and I would highly recommend!

Been wanting to try Jo Jos for ages and finally popped in today , they now take reservations. It was superb, friendly and loads of veggie options. The team were lovely and welcoming and we had a lovely table overlooking the sea . Best lunch I’ve had this year. My wife and i have spoken about eating in Jo Jo's many times and have tried to book but it has always been busy. We gave ourselves plenty of time for our visit booking early and wow we was not disappointed. The the building is a little disorientating as it is much bigger inside that we had previously thought. The staff are very friendly and service was well on point and the food was amazing, we could have sat all night eating but were truly stuffed. One of my pet Peeves at restaurants is if i order cheese it is generally served to cold, well not on this occasion, the cheese was beautifully selected and was at room temperature which was perfection, well done Jo Jo's. we will defiantly be returning.

Initial impressions were great, with very friendly staff who seemed genuinely interested in conversation. The food came out as and when it was ready in the kitchen, with every dish excelling the previous, leaving us excited at the table waiting for the next item to arrive. Thoroughly recommend

What a find! We have recently moved to the area and had only heard good things about this place so were keen to try for ourselves to see if the reviews lived up to reality. Wow!!! Food and service were absolutely amazing! We will be back.

An absolute gem! After being left very disappointed with another restaurant we had booked for dinner we rang jojos to see if we could get a last min table for my partners birthday dinner with our friends. We were delighted that they could accommodate us and we headed over. The atmosphere was fantastic when we walked in. Very clean and fresh and inviting. The staff were very friendly and we ordered cocktails at the bar which were really fantastic hand crafted cocktails. We ordered a feast of food and what a delight it all was. Perfectly cooked tender steak, gorgeous venison, fish goujons that melted in your mouth. Just incredible food and outstanding service. We will definitely be returning soon! What a treat.

Best dinner we had out in Whitstable. The rice balls, lamb koftas, and patatas bravas in particular were incredible. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Excellent as always. We have eaten many times at Jojos when we were first introduced by friends and we keep coming back. Every time is excellent, the food, staff and the restaurant itself are as good as it gets. We introduced my father who has visited us a few times since we moved to Whitstable 2.5 years ago and Jojo's is now his favourite restaurant (at 86 years old he has a lot of knowledge and experience of fine dining!) Thank you for your superb service and food. We've got some more friends down soon and will be coming back to see you. For us the best restaurant in Whitstable.

We have been trying to get to this restaurant for a long time and lucky for us, we managed to get a table. The food, service, ambience and vibe was excellent. We enjoyed Plaice, Mackerel, Kofte and a refreshing salad alongside. It was excellent.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere, genuine friendly and helpful staff. We had fish goujons, lamb kofte and wonderful salad. Raspberry and lime sorbet. Perfect evening Our first visit but not our last .

Really wonderful restaurant with a very special warmth about it. The food is delicious and the service was just second to none. We've only eaten here once but I would struggle to think of anywhere else that has come close. Would really recommend.

We booked this restaurant for my friend's birthday. The staff were lovely, the food was amazing and plentiful, and the general ambience of the place was lovely. Beautifully decorated - the bar looked amazing. Two of our party ordered a sharing platter (I think it was the mixed meat board) and I have never seen so much food. There was also an amazing aubergine dish, and the Greek salad was delicious! Nothing was too much trouble. I would love to go back next time I'm in Whitstable!

By far the best seaside restaurant in Britain we've ever been to. The service, as almost all the reviews say, couldn't be bettered. And the quality of the food is outstanding. The Mackerel pate was the finest we've ever had. Totally fresh and pure tasting. And the grilled mackerel for the main course was perfectly cooked. It's not easy to make sure that fish is just right like this - neither too mushy or too tough. Fresh local food, simply but beautifully cooked, You'd think this was easy to do. But it's not, as most restaurants demonstrate to their disadvantage. But Jo Jos has the recipe perfected. Top, top marks!

We arrived a little early, only to find that I had mistakenly forgotten to confirm our reservation. The staff set about finding us a table without delay and went to great lengths to ensure we were welcomed and comfortable. The Mezze was absolutely fantastic and the Pollacks Goujons were the best battered fish I’ve ever eaten! There was such an attention to detail. I couldn’t rate Jojo’s high enough and I don’t know why it’s not number one. We’ll be back!

This is the 2nd time I have visited Jojos and the food and service was very good on both sittings. I really appreciated the slightly less busy nature of the restaurant on the last sitting on a Sunday. I love the choice of small plates, that are also offered as larger portions, the seafood dishes are a real favourite. Sitting by the window gave an extra special feel to thevisit. Will ne back again soon.

Our meal at JoJo’s was superb. The restaurant is really well designed; it’s comfortable, vibrant, and a perfect mix between feeling busy but with your own space to enjoy your meal.
