Food was good but not great. But everything else about this place is high class. Staff was very helpful and considerate. They have ample tables on the top floor and on the lower floor, rooms that were very good for private events

Reception was nice. Had difficulty finding the "ballroom". Because none of the signs were marked as Ballroom.

Have been here for dinner and for receptions. The food is excellent, and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

Excellent food and top notch service! I just had my daughter in law baby shower at JAI and if was perfect the food delicious the menu had something for everyone and a a fair and reasonable price.

We go here every year for birthday weekends. Fave room 115. Has an amazing two person, stone jacuzzi. All of the rooms are great and a lot of them have Jacuzzis. Michael is amazing and extremely helpful!

I came here for a funeral luncheon. The food was very good. I enjoyed the steak they had and the desserts they offered. The location was very nice. The architecture of the buildings and the views of the woods and creek, I can only imagine how beautiful this place would look in any season other than winter.

We all (8) had a wonderful time. We had the octopus and egg rolls for appetizer. Food was very good and service was attentive.

Lovely room and dinner at restaurant was wonderful

Well, its an old historic hotel- Beautiful grounds and buildings. We had a maintenance issue that was quickly resolved and we were compensated for our issue- who could ask for more? BTW- the restaurant was incredible!

Today 12/27/23 we celebrated Christmas with our family it was a wonderful day. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. I would recommend the Joseph Ambler Inn for any occasion.

This is a special place to come to anytime! Always terrific food and cocktails, and the seasonal decorations are spectacular. Hosted a brunch for 40 people and they did a terrific job, thanks !!!

HOTEL REVIEW, did not eat at restaurant. It was EXTREMELY loud until almost midnight, and then the next day from 11am-4pm. The walls are incredibly thin and this wasn't disclosed to us when I specifically called and asked about noise before booking. Spoke to front desk and they offered no solutions at all. Super expensive for a room with barely any amenities besides the bathtub. Ambler inn, if you are going to have a tile shower, please clean the grout. It was stained black and brown. The "fireplace" advertised was basically a flickering LED that made a constant and annoying clicking sound. It was very uncomfortable leaving our room because there was a wedding going on most of the night and another next day, we had to pass through it to leave the building. NO fridge, NO ice machine, NO room service. Plumbing sucks. Oh, and to top it off it is on a very busy road with sirens and car noise all night. Enormous waste of money. Since the restaurant reviews mix in with the hotel's, it's very misleading to see such a high rating.

Great evening with friends recently at the Joe Ambler Inn. Service, food, and atmosphere was exceptional. So lucky to have the Inn literally right down the street.

Extremely poor service and no heat. This appears to be a nice setting with historic buildings but beyond that be warned. I checked in on a chilly 35 degree night at around 9pm. As others have noted this property needs a lot of TLC and is in poor to fair condition at best. The heat didn’t work in the room and after giving it over two hours and freezing it was unbearable. I called the front desk to request a room transfer and was advised “we don’t have any rooms”. I then advised I’d need to be refunded and check out because the room had NO HEAT. The manager “Mike” was called on the phone which made a bad situation even worse. Fortunately there are many better accommodations within close proximity and they have HEAT! Hopefully this property gets new management or redevelopment soon.

Joseph Ambler Inn was a dream come true for wedding venue! Working with Jamie and the rest of the staff was so easy and stress free. We had a lot of requests such as specialized meals for guest with food allergies, how to set up the décor for the reception, and space for hair and makeup. All of these requests were accommodated with no issues. One example of how Joseph Ambler Inn went above and beyond, was about 2 hours before the wedding we realized the petals for the flower girl had not been delivered. At this point our entire wedding party was having their photos taken. Without even being asked Jamie and her team had gone to a local store, bought roses, and prepared them for the flower girl. I think this just illustrate that at Joseph Ambler Inn they truly care about your special day, and you are not just another event. Outside the wonderful staff, the location is also just perfect. Most of our guest were arriving from out of state so having the opinion to have our guest on site was perfect. We also were able to have all our events on site including rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, welcome party, ceremony, reception, and afterparty. On top of all of this the food was just amazing!! I cannot count the number of people who told me how much the enjoyed the appetizers, meals, and drinks. If you are looking for a venue that truly, does it all and goes above and beyond on your special day, Joseph Ambler Inn would be the ideal place for your big day!!

I wish I could give it a good rating, but I was very sick 7 hours after eating there. Could be coincidence, but I think it was the salad.

Attended a funeral lunch in last week. The setup was beautiful the grounds are breathtaking. Such a cute little place to have a get together. We had the choice of two menu options a herb chicken or a salmon. The salmon was wonderful the sauce was delicious. The staff and bartenders were very professional and everything was perfect.

We went to their restaurant to use a gift card we were gifted.

This was a quaint Inn. They had houses you could rent out for an entire party, they had rooms in the general houses. We were there for a wedding and had three other weddings with us that weekend. The walls were very, very thin and you could hear EVERYTHING. To give an example : I was on a work call in the room and was concerned about my volume disturbing others. The breakfast was great! I was shocked at the offering. We came in the fall and the weather was perfect and it was so pretty with the trees and deer out in the field. The staff and folks working at the Inn were very kind and accommodating. I would recommend staying here!

I take my parents here for lunch regularly and we all have a great time. The only reason I don't give service full points is because sometimes restaurant service seems to compete with event service. It makes sense that event service is given priority, and the food is so good it has never been an issue. Highly recommended.

We'll suited to large groups due to their event hosting pedigree, the restaurant at the Inn is the place to bring a large party to celebrate your special occasions.

Lovely suitable please for team lunch or dinner. Staff are very courteous. Presentation of food was excellent and tasty too.

we reserved a room in the restaurant for a 90th birthday party. It was lovely and private and the service staff was fantastic. The fillet is the best.

Celebrated my wife’s birthday here. Nice outdoor dining and seating. Fresh bread and salad with walnuts and fresh berries. Good drinks. Filet was cooked to perfection. My sea bass over crab risotto was very good. Complimentary dessert for my wife’s birthday. Great service and friendly conversation by our server, Denise. Will definitely be back.

First time there, even though it is close by!! Started with a glass of wine, warm bread and butter. Entree was their chef's special - crab imperial stuffed lobster, mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables (green beans & carrots). Creme brulee for dessert. One of the best meals we've had in quite a while. Food was delicious (compliments to the chef), and the service was excellent!! We will be returning!!

I attended a wedding here. It was beautifully done. The staff were great and the food was delicious. They also have a wonderful outdoor space for professional photography.

Nothing compares to Joseph Ambler Inn! They have everything you could want for a perfect, small to medium rustic wedding. There are great options for both indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces. The whole campus is gorgeous and well kept. The food is SO GOOD!!! Having on-site accommodations was a major plus for both in and out of town guests. Walking across the courtyard after partying all night was the perfect commute. Their wedding package includes so much: Open bar, all food, champagne toast, day of coordinator, wedding cake, bridal suite, honeymoon suite for the couple(!)... I'm sure I'm missing things. Jamie was very responsive and really worked with us in terms of budget and logistics. She was great. I saw a few reviews saying they aren't very responsive, but that's not true. I will say I was very pro-active in setting up my own times to talk with Jamie, and I think that may be important to do, rather than waiting on her to reach out if you're an antsy bride like me. Meg, our day-of coordinator was a total rock star! There were quite a few moving parts I was concerned about during the day, but the whole thing went FLAWLESSLY. My husband and I (and our guests!) can't stop raving about this venue. We can't wait to go back just to eat at the restaurant.

The hot water in the shower in my room did not work during the weekend that I was there even after I reported it twice. There was black soap scum in the shower door and dirt on the bathroom floor. There were ants in the kitchen area. At breakfast there was no oatmeal (the only carbohydrate options were sugary buns and scones). I would give it one star, but the grounds are beautiful and the food items they did have were high quality.

A great place for Weddings, banquets, parties, a great place to go for dinner, lunch. Or a great place as a getaway weekend for your wedding anniversary. Lunch and dinner are not very expensive. Excellent service, excellent food.

One of our favorite go to's... Enjoy the food, the place, the people! We go here for our ANNIVERSARY whenever we are in town! Always perfect! Great happy hour at their bar weekdays 430 -530. Breakfast is lovely. Grounds gorgeous. Just a great local getaway!

Funreal celebration. She loved comfort food - grilled cheese and red soup, pizza, pb&j's, and waffle w/ ice cream. Great food and the when restaurant inn was very quaint.

The grounds are beautiful. Went for dinner and wasn’t impressed with the food we ordered - clam appetizer, lobster roll, pasta primavera, and schnitzel. The one dish we all enjoyed was the baked Brie and garlic. We also enjoyed the wine selection and cocktails.

I was there with a friend for a financial seminar. Food was delicious!

It’s a shame because it has such potential. Positive aspects of the stay. It’s a beautiful place, very comfy bed and lovely staff. Negative aspects of the stay. Restaurant not open on Mondays with no warning. After an 18 hour journey I had hoped food and drinks would be available. But no. No drink making facilities in the room! In all the places I’ve stayed this is a first. Unbelievable. Not even the ability to make a quick coffee or tea. Obviously no fridge in the room either. Light right outside my window and no curtains makes it feel like daytime all night. Not enough hot water for a bath. Heater is at ceiling level and noisy. As heat rises it feels permanently cold and with the outside temperature at 0 C heating would be nice! Room not cleaned during stay. Doesn’t really bother me too much. But instead we should at least have a place to dry our towels (heated rail) and somewhere to empty bins. No safe in the room to store valuables. Large gap around the door and lock doesn’t feel secure.

We came for a funeral repast and everything was ready & waiting. We had our own house all the staff was so accommodating, especially Eileen, our hostess. I would recommend the Joseph Ambler Inn especially for this type of occasion.

Great atmosphere and the food was excellent!

We hosted our daughter's wedding here in December 2021. The event was beautiful and it came together perfectly in the end. Jamie did a wonderful job in pulling the event together and Meg (our day-of coordinator) was incredible and very calming. The food was delicious, everyone was served at the same time and the waitstaff and bartenders were attentive to everyone. The only reason for a 4-star rating instead of 5 stars was because I thought pre-wedding communication could have been a little better, especially regarding the rooms. Our room blocks were a bit muddled and the front desk staff did not always seem to understand the specifics of our contract but, in fairness, some of the guests did not help the situation. However, Dana got that together in the end as well. There were multiple staff changes in between the scheduling and the wedding and I think this resulted in some of the miscommunication. Having said that, the most important part of the experience (the event itself) gets a 5 star rating so I do recommend the JAI as a wedding venue and I thought Jamie was really patient when working with me and great at pulling it all together. Thanks to Dana, Jamie and Meg for all of their hard work.

My Son got married here, and I have nothing but good to say about The staff, the food, and the hospitality! What a wonderful experience!

Wait staff was wonderful and most all of the 15 in our party were very happy with their entree.

Yeah it's a little pricey there, but when you drink your tea, you can stick your pinky up as high as you want to.

Just priceless that's all I can say the food is amazing the staff are friendly I recommend spending the weekend if you live in the city and just want to get away or just a night out

Incredible meal and spent the night in the suite. Clean rooms, very nice and comfortable. Service was great and staff very friendly and accommodating. Look forward to going back!

A truly beautiful old world place alot of which is original and well maintained will be performing a wedding there in the near future cantvwait to see it decorated

The food and the service were excellent. The Champagne Chicken and vegetables were delicious. My only disappointment was the parking lot. It had snowed a couple days prior and the walkways and parking lots were not cleared. This made it difficult for my parents to literally trudge through. Other than that, we were very satisfied with our dining experience.

Wednesday evening I attended The Joseph Ambler Inn with some nursing colleagues for our monthly dinner meeting. I arrived about 3 minutes before the event started. When it was time to place my order, the server only offered me chicken despite having other options on the event menu. He claimed that I arrived late therefore the only food item they could offer was chicken. I was not late. He took orders before arrived. I refused to eat the chicken dish, and asked the kitchen to make the scallops and shrimp which was on the nursing event menu. Finally after debating with some staff, they brought out the shrimp and scallops dish. To be honest, I was turned off, I didn’t even want it at that point. The clearly were upset and who knows what they did to my food. After dinner, about 10 of us wanted to sit at the bar for a quick cocktail. Well the bartender was rude and unprofessional. He told us they were closing early and he clearly didn’t want to serve us. A couple next to us asked for food items and he was rude to them as well. How do you tell your customers you’re closing early and refuse to serve them? Unsure if I was a target because I was the only person of color, or if your staff is notorious for being impolite.

It was superb With everything in my soul I would recommend everyone to try it for any and all occasions I have no idea the coast for it was where family and friends all were able to gather to remember and celebrate our beloved friend. A Funeral mass was held in Buckingham Pennsylvania at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Absolutely beautiful the church is bran new giant stained glass windows all over and Reverend Monsignor Joseph Gentili was very kind he really lead the service with respect. While reminding us all that our holy father The Lord Jesus Christ our God will welcome his Angel our loved one home open the pearly gates of The heavens and give him eternal lasting life to be forever in the his glory. Gerard Donaghy a United States ARMY Veteran a craftsman he worked as a welder for most of his life and loved it. Mr Donaghy was a loyal son caring brother dedicated husband loving father fun uncle and greatest grandfather and Wonderful friend to us all. For his next adventure begins His life here will be greatly missed but his soul will live on in the heavens for eternity.Till we all meet again my friend in the after life. a great man Sir Gerard Donaghy born May30,1935-December26,2021. Mr Donaghy I believe would have been very pleased with how he was remembered and how truly delicious the Joseph Ambler Inn was they paid special attention to every detail I felt it was beautiful the property and the dinning room were there was a buffet Fresh Salad and Bread with butter then the main dishes were so perfectly cook fresh Chicken Florentine and Steak marsala also cooked to perfection every I have to say that I haven't been blown away out to eat in many years and it was superb fresh green beans in a garlic butter toss and roasted potatoes they even made my son Who is 4 without me having to ask for anything special for him they just came right up to us and gave choice es of spaghetti 🍝 with or without red sauce or chicken fingers and french fries and he was said both and with out anything they made it so very nice for him I was very blown away with how kind everyone was and then dessert apple turnovers and chesses cake and chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream on top I was even able to bring food home I will definitely be going back there again in the future it's in Montgomery county not far from the Montgomeryville Mall on Horsham Rd it's a definite hidden secret I will have to go plan a stay over and get back to everyone about my stay in the future God bless and stay safe happy and healthy a have blessed new year

Food is very basic low budget wedding food, even dining in the restaurant.

Staff are pleasant and welcoming. Due to Beverley accommodating our request the experience was great, very relaxing and quiet. Thank you Beverley!

The property overall is nice. We stayed in the Rose Valley room Suite 202 and there was no water for two days. We had to use our cell phones to call out the front desk to have them run the water in the kitchen area for hot water to circulate for five minutes at a time to barely take a shower. Another room was offered the day of check out but it was too late at this point.

Food was good, service was good. For groups, they don't do separate checks and that was a nightmare for those that paid with their cards. That needs addressed by management with the staff.

Food, service and ambiance outstanding!

Was very disappointed with a recent lunch with friends. Tables were spaced very, very close. For such a large area to seat diners, they made no effort to spread things out. Wait staff not wearing masks was another red flag. Perhaps the most disappointing was the reactions when we very politely expressed our surprise about spacing and masks. No professional response, just looking annoyed and immediately asking us if we’d prefer to leave. A simple sorry you feel that way, we’ll pass it on. We ate our meal, food was good as always, we tipped well, but we won’t be back.

Stayed here in lieu of a bad chain hotel experience last time I was in the area. Historical, neat, cozy. Somewhat noisy. Slamming delicious weekend continental breakfast almost like pre-covid days, but not quite.

Everything was excellent!! Great food, Especially the parmesan chicken and all the other great dishes.

This place is so beautiful, the grounds, the buildings and the interior decor beautiful. Our check-in was fast but we were never given any information for wi-fi access, what time breakfast would be served or that you can always grab coffee, snacks or a quick bite in the registration office if you must leave before breakfast is served. We stayed in the stone bank barn above the restaurant, the rooms a very comfortable but the noise from the kitchen below was extremely loud. We had a private birthday party and the service was so-so, food was adequate but the cake was so dry we couldn’t even eat it.

We ate at the bar, the food was okay (homemade is better), drinks were a little expensive, I would go back again but would have to dress much warmer. They need to install coat hangers.

Great for a weekend getaway! The property is beautiful and the rooms are very nice with a historic colonial feel. we only stayed one night since we had to get back home. We did have a problem with the heat in the room, but managed to keep each other warm. THe room was clean and the bed was very firm but comfortable. Recommended for a romantic getaway.

Had a reception there and it was great. The staff and food were great. Bar staff could make almost anything.

Mother's 80th Birthday party was met with the Bartender catering our 20 person brunch while also covering the bar area. The experience wasn't like in the past. Brunch came out over an hour later. Service could have been much better.

People were great, venue was beautiful, loved the room, king size studio, had breakfast, was very good. Didn't eat in restaurant for dinner, had other plans. Would come back.
