The best fish and chip shop around! Not only is their fish and chips beautiful, they do lots of other menu items so there's something for everyone. 11/10 best place in the UK.

Just had cod and chips from jjs and they were the best I've had in a long while. Very English fish and chips. Will be calling again.

JJ's Chippy is my no.1 food is always spot on, and they don't scrimp on the chips! Staff are always polite and helpful. Will never go anywhere else now.

After spending many years working on the tools across most of South and West Yorkshire, I've had the pleasure of visiting many chip shops. I have to say, this one stands out as possibly the best I've ever been to! The food is outstanding, offering a wide variety of choices at reasonable prices, and the staff seem up for a laugh. What I also found impressive was that they seem to have a sense of social responsibility, offering special deals for those who are facing financial hardships. In summary, the quality of the food is exceptional, the prices are fair, and the lasses behind the counter are sound. We definitely need more places like this one! Cheers.

Since I was a young kid, the food has remained consistently good. Fantastic food, decent prices. Hopefully they still have the milkshakes that they used to sell made from the powder in the large polistyrene pots with a big straw.

Been eating here 27 year since I was at school and I’ll keep eating here touchwood for as long as it’s open, foods great always has been, they always cater for our needs, a lovely family run business, caring genuine people who keep costs low as possible in todays climate that’s an achievement in itself,always service with a smile and great conversation. There fish and pies are a must absolutely beautiful.

Friendly staff but not so good food , the chip's were just warm and refried and the spam fritter tasted atrocious. Sorry but wasn’t any good .

I've travelled up and down the country and this is by far the best I've been to the prices and brilliant and the customer sever is out standing and when you walk into the shop they make you feel right at home highly recommended

Got a large fish, must admit i was expecting it to be a bit larger, that’s inflation for you, It was cooked to order which was nice, the batter- nice and crispy but it was greasy, what you can expect from a deep fat fryer. Place was clean and the staff pleasant, well worth another visit.

Can't find better fish and chips than here.

I arrived at this place after travelling for a while, I expected very nice people but instead I got arrogance!! Was not a professional atmosphere at all, I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone! The chips were soggy! The fish batter was far too thick! The sausage was raw and gave me food poisoning which I have proof of! DO NOT GO HERE!

Just ordered a large fish ,i waited for them to cook it ,i got regular fish large chips n large peas ,it was horrible hardly any batter on the fish .and am sorry to say the chips was like rubber and it all got chuck in the bin .

I don't understand how the staff can social distance in such a small area. I saw a member of staff go outside in her plastic apron and gloves then didn't discard them and put on new! Not really what a customer wants to see!

this is under new ownership the two woman in there did't seem to know what they were doing they had run out of chicken and mushroom pies they were waiting for an order great for a saturday night they also had a customer go out for bread.we had chips sausages and steak and kidney pie.the chips we could have squeezed the oil out of.the pie was very dry indeed.they used to be very good.will never be going again

Best Chips ever ! Been eating From this chippy since I was a nipper. Its changed hands but the methods have been passed on. Small tweaks have improved the batter and pastry, its now lighter and tastier 😍😍

My first experience of "Two in a bun" and omg it was lush. The best mushy peas I have ever had and the chips are divine. The staff are polite and courteous and I will 10000% visit again when I am in the area. Keep up the good work!

Lovely little chippy, friendly atmosphere, in house seating at takeaway prices so you can eat it while it's hot. Slightly too far from home to buy and take home to eat but well worth the fuel to go and eat it there.

Wow, fantastic food, everything have had has been superb and most recently introduced kentucky chicken strip wraps to make your mouth water, add cheese and coleslaw to it absolutely beaut, excellent value for money and the place is spotless, the staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend

I had the battered halloumi for the first time on Saturday and it was honestly the best I have ever had (and i’ve tried a lot! 😂) will definitely be coming back on a regular base now that I know I can get it so close to home. my kids also had the kids meals and they are such good value for money. My family & I would highly recommend JJ’s 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Every meal I've eaten here has been superb, lovely white fish with crispy light batter just how i like it, very tasty homemade pies, friendly helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Popped in on our way home as it was the first chippy we came across. I have honestly never seen a portion of chips so small? Do the people of Colwyn Bay not eat normal size meals? And who serves a sausage dinner in an open tray (no lid) and then wrapped in paper? Absolutely shocked at the size of the portions here and had to stop up the road for an extra bag of chips for the kids to share

Easily the one of the worst fish and chip take away in the respective area. My experience with haddock and chips at JJ's fish and chips was a huge disappointment. The fish was not fresh and was incredibly greasy. That greasy, I must say, it managed to escape the package and run down my clothes and ruined my coat.

Use to love this place when it was JJ’s, but since yesterday it was taken over by new owners and the name has changed. I use to go regularly as I go to the local high school, went today to see if it had changed much. BAD DECISION! To be fair the man gave us a student discount, but he then proceeded to pick up the sausage from the oven with his un gloved hands and put it in the box. We then went to sit in the “restaurant” area as we always do, soon to be followed by the chef shouting at us (3 sixteen year olds) about how we couldn’t sit in here to eat a takeaway and that it was rude. He also complained that we were using the metal forks, because that meant they had to do more washing. ITS NOT THAT HARD!! Then he went to the customers he was serving and continued to talk about us and how rude we are. After that he came back into us and said again that it’s unfair people pay £4 more to eat in the restaurant (which was empty)

They are always friendly to anyone who walks in and always packed out so to me it a great cup shop it’s the only one around here that does vegans sausage so they think off every one

Greasy not cooked enough chips the fish didn't taste fresh the peas were anaemic and tasted like also asked for homemade fishcake and was given the shop bought even though i saw the 2 different types in the glass heater...... Very poor

Just called in on spec after a cold day in the fresh air at the Welsh Mountain Zoo and we were rewarded with lovely friendly service and absolutely top notch Fish n Chips. Truly delicious. We'll be back!

If you want cheap and cheerful you cannot go far wrong here. The staff cannot do enough to make you welcome and enjoy your food which is excellent. The food is home cooked and tasty and at £5.80 for a meal from the menu with bread and butter and a cuppa its better than McDonalds lol. it is very clean an if you don't mind going outside in the back to use the staff loo there is everything you need.

Just purchased chips peas and fish bites. The fish was moist and tasty. Well done Tracey on providing great fish.

I decided to try this chippy for a change. We had used it when it was owned by it's previous owner, then it was quite good, but alas not anymore!!! I called in last night Saturday, there were three Women serving, they seemed quite friendly and chatty. The Woman that served me seemed to be on something? I kept having to repeat my order, this should have told my what to expect. Finally got the order, she was apologetic! I said it's ok so long as the order is all there!!! Blow me when I arrived home, an incomplete order, and wasn't sure if I'd been overcharged!!! My Wife tried phoning them to discuss the problem, an answerphone on a mobile network!!! A day later still no acknowledgement.......The Food YUK!!! It made me queasy, and if you want gravy, they serve it in slices, and to be honest this has put me off any takeaways. I certainly won't be using this shop ever again, my stomach is still queasy!!!

We sat in here to eat on a cold wet day .the owners a mother and daughter was very friendly and made us welcome and nothing was to much trouble for them .The food was beautifully cooked all served piping hot on warmed plates.I had the fish special which was beautiful and a fantastic price. Look forward to visiting again.

With only 20 minutes to closing, arrived to eat in the cafe from the chippy. Food was amazing in quality, generous portions, and a brilliant price too! Fed a family of 4 for £20 including drinks.

Sorry for the pun in the title but me and my family visited here while on holiday, food was great and a good price. Restaurant was bright and clean with helpful staff.

Chipscwere fine and to look at so was the fish. The batter was crispy and hot but unfortunately the fish was freezing cold when you got through the batter. Seagulls enjoyed it !!
