Was told about this place 3yrs ago.. ket trying to get there and was disappointed with everywhere else.. finally 2 weeks ago managed it and again 1 hr ago. Amazing fish, large pure white tasty as hell, chips crunchy outside fluffy inside , nothing greasy or untasteful. Without a doubt the best fish and chips in Harrogate. The staff where all friendly and quick to attend to my order. Presentation in a box was helpful and less hassle than wrapping paper. If your passing please give this place a try,they deserve our custom.

Great place to get fish and chips! First time I have visited and I was not disappointed. The lady who served us was polite and friendly and food cooked to order. Food was piping hot and absolutely delicious Will definitely be visiting again.

Went in a couple of weeks ago, ordered the "Special" Fish, it turned out to been 2 fish? Had chips with that. The fish was greasy as were the chips, they are NOT being fried at the right temperature. Why are they using a stupid batter? It does not work at low temperatures. Lesson: 1. A "Batter" is to protect the fish inside and allow it steam itself to optimum full flavour and firmness. My first and last visit! Have been to the Wharfe in Otley a couple of times... no problems.

Hands down the best thing to happen to Harrogate, best fish and chips, huge portions and really decent prices to. My number one chippy to go to and I highly recommend trying it out. My friends have and they don't go anywhere else now.

Always stop off here on my way home from working at local racecourses .. after 9 hours on my feet to have,such great food before my journey home . Amazing fish n chips The best I have tasted Medium haddock , chips, and a bread roll.. .. not cheap but reasonable and the potions are very generous . Proffessional fish fryer to who is in full control and great staff..

This is my local fish and chips And I can honestly say I never had a bad meal once. The fish is freshly fried and same goes with the chips, Never under the heating light too long. The portion sizes are good Highly recommend A****

Our favourite Fish & Chips in Harrogate

Food was nice but I was wearing a mask and still asked to wait outside even though there was no one in the shop. None of the three servers had a mask and one girl had hair falling all over her shoulders that she was repeatedly touching before packing my food. Utterly unhygienic practise.

Pately Bridge is good but this is even better. Very large fish and cooked to perfection. Huge portions of chips. Stay away unless you are really hungry. 2 large fish an share a huge chips for £11. What's not to like!!

Usually great Fish, but sometimes the chips can be a bit soft or the mushy peas slightly watery. The service is great and I'm just being a moaning Yorkshireman!!!

Absolutely love the fish and the chips here. Been a few times now. Got a Special fish for £6.80 and large chips for £2.50 - feeds me and my wife easily, and we are 'decent eaters' The portions are impressive and the quality is very good. Definitely recommend.

Went for a Chip butty. Simple food but was a massive portion. Really good value for money as well. The bread was nice and soft and the chips were cooked right, not soggy or too crispy which was nice. Paid contactless and was nice to see a rule of 2 people at one time during these covid-19 times. Appreciated the safety. Happily go back and try the fish and chips as a meal option next time. Have a suspicious feeling that the oil used is not vegetable oil and is beef dripping. Would be nice if there was an option

Called into The Wharfe yesterday evening for fish and chips on the way home from work. Although the shop appeared to be busy the wait wasn’t too long and the staff seemed to handle the ‘two customers at one time’ rule fault well. The food itself was fantastic, good portion size and the best chips I’ve had in a very long time. I will certainly be back soon.........

More than 2 persons in shop at a time . Some staff not wearing face coverings . Brought this to there attention, i was advised if not happy then dont use the shop. Not a problem . 👌

Ordered one fish and chips and one sausage and chips. The fish came without any chips (which unfortunately we didn't realise until we got it home) and both the meals looked to have been liberally doused in salt (despite saying we didn't want salt or vinegar on either portion!) Both meals were practically inedible, the shop's phone number isn't being answered and we don't have time to go back for another try. Very disappointed and wishing our normal chip shop had been open!

Ordered a large fish and chips and a small sausage and chips with scraps on both and she put salt and vinegar on both when I asked for salt only on the fish which I didn't realise until I got them home. came away with a large fish with no chips and 2 small sausages and chips which she charged me £9.20 for when I saw on the till it said £8 something. I've tried ringing the number but it's not recognised. I also attempted to pay with contactless due to covid19 but she said it was money only. also the guy at the back that was doing the cooking wasn't wearing a face mask. I thought I'd give this place a chance seeing as jennyfield fisheries around the corner from the co-op was closed which is our usual, I regret the decision entirely. Waste of time and money and won't be returning.

Best in class. In all respects, this has to be the best fish & chip takeaway both in and around Harrogate. Price is very competitive, and when compared to quality and servings, it beats the competition hands down. Also worth noting is the shop's hygiene practices, which are first class. Pleasant and helpful staff, no draconian rules about entry, just common sense. Worth traveling to for your fish & chips!

I was working in the area, and thought I would try the wharfe fish and chip shop and really pleased I did they were absolutely the best fish and chips I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection, generous portion and the curry sauce delicious. Very clean, nice staff. Would highly recommend I will definitely return, as a business owner reviews are very important.

These are by far, some of the most amazing fish and chips in the area. The portions are beyond generous and the service is great. However, I couldn’t give five stars as they don’t appear to be passing on the VAT savings to their customers. But of a shame really as otherwise, they are amazing.

Jennys fish and chip shop is the best for miles around, and I mean hundreds of miles! I am a bit of a fish and chips connoisseur and would recommend this place. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

Best fish and chips I’ve had in ages. Finished work near by on a Friday evening, so no brainer, it had to be fish and chips. Both fish and chips were great, staff very friendly and helpful. My son wants me to go every Friday now!
