The best ice cream we’ve ever had!!! Amazing !

Superb ice cream, we’ve been known to have x2 in one day having driven to Newlyn twice to achieve this, well worth the trouble. I recommend Jelbert’s to anyone I know who is visiting Cornwall. Can’t wait for the next one, YUM YUM !!!!!

Jelbert's had been at the top of my places to visit list for years and finally today we got to try Jelbert's iconic vanilla ice cream with clotted cream and a flake. Literally nothing better on a sunny October Cornish day. This place is described as an institution for a reason

This is not the first time we have eaten ice-cream from here. Polite and friendly gentleman serving us. The ice-cream is wonderful. A 'muzt' if you visit the area.

Called in whilst on holiday in Cornwall after seeing James Martin on tv saying this was the best ice cream. He wasn’t wrong it was delicious! Only 1 flavour vanilla but that’s all you need, make sure to top off will a blob of Cornish clotted cream and a flake and what more could you want! We were served by 2 lovely pleasant girls and will call again on our next holiday. Well worth a visit to this lovely shop.

We had read about Jelberts and were keen to visit and try this wonderful ice cream. It did not disappoint! This is hands down the best vanilla ice cream I have had. They just sell vanilla ice cream, that’s it…. (You can get flakes) That’s everything that’s needed. £2.30 for a massive single scoop or cone. If you love ice cream, it’s a must. Thank you Jelberts.

The idea of only one flavor option in an ice cream shop is a new concept for me but the vanilla was not disappointing. The waffle cone was the crispest I have ever had. I couldn’t decide if the ice cream or the cone was better. Friendly warm service. I would go again.

Absolutely delicious, must have with cream & flake for the full experience. Even my ither half who only likes whippy ice cream enjoyed it.

Visited Jelberts many times over the years. You've simply got to go if you are near Newlyn. No other ice-cream comes close to their's just simple "iced" cream with an extra dollop of clothes cream and flake in a tub. What more could you ask for...bliss 🍦💕

They only sell Vanilla here(no fancy flavours!), but definitely do not be put off by this! There are however some toppings and flakes etc. you can choose from. This is probably one of the nicest Vanilla ice creams in Cornwall! Clearly home made and very authentic tasting! Staff were also really pleasant and friendly. Well worth a visit for ice cream fans!

The Best Ice cream I have ever tasted, and great value. I always drop by when I am in Newlyn. My favourite is a double tub with clotted cream.

There's only one flavour, vanilla, with or without clotted cream. And the shop is basic .. no frills at all. But .. it's the best ice cream in the world.

The mix of perfectly smooth vanilla ice cream with a dollop of unctuous clotted cream is sublime. NB no other flavours or dairy free … but that’s almost the point!

After visiting Newlyn to get a fish supper we were puzzled by so many people literally flocking to this ice cream shop. Everyone in the area had a cone or a tub! When you see this kind of devotion you're curious to find out what's the story is. So after the fish supper we went and bought two tubs. Generous scoops reasonably priced and we weren't disappointed. Creamy beautiful confectionery made daily by a family business. Just fantastic!

So many people told us about Jelbert's in Newlyn that we simply had to visit. It was so good that we visited twice on our holiday. Only one flavour, but simply amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

There is usually a queue outside this humble looking establishment. That says it all ! Get in the queue and enjoy simple authentic Cornish ice cream. No funny flavours, or special cones. You don't need them here !

Jelbert's does what it does -- serve the best icecream. You can have vanilla, vanilla or vanilla. They make it just up the road and trundle it fresh to the shop.

They only do one flavour, Vanilla, but it is the best vanilla you will ever taste. You can have a chocolate flake! Take away only. TRY IT.

Lovely little find in Newlyn, but for visitors to be aware it’s just the one Cornish vanilla flavour (but very tasty). However it’s the addition of clotted cream which is truly unique. If you want to take it even further then flakes are optional too. Good to see all tubs recyclable and wooden spoons available so massive thumbs up for environmental responsibility. A Cornish institution but can’t quite compete with other local producers purely due to the single flavour. The only reason it’s not 5*. Reasonably priced. Would recommend.

All 3 flavours were spot on, including good old vanilla. Very creamy, no crystally bits (is that a word?), perfect level of flavour.

Nothing fancy but they do it right. They only offer homemade clotted cream vanilla ice cream, which is great and tasty.

If you are in Newlyn try ice cream from a someone different and Jelberts is the place ti visit. A family run producer which is freshly made every day.

A description I read was... 'best ice cream in the county'. Well, it is not far off! Creamy and rich texture. But there is only vanilla flavour. They only take cash and close at 5pm (weekday)! But, overall, worth a try.

This is utterly, absolutely, definitely the best ice-cream I've ever tasted and will probably ever taste. I've been going to this little family run shop ever since I can remember (I'm 32), even after moving out of the county and starting my own family, I still come back here every summer and now my kids have the pleasure of enjoying this unbelievably great little treat when we visit each year too. You just can't beat this ice-cream with a big dollop of clotted cream, leave it for a minute or two before tucking in to it with that now slightly hard clotted cream. Gotta have a flake too. Can't reccomend this place enough. ENJOY GUYS!!! 🤯😋🤤🍦

Having previously described Jelberts as “simply the best” we had our second Jelberts of the season today and, it wasn’t. It was good but not as good. Maybe the new management need to take heed and find out why there are small lumps of ice...

We go to Jelberts every year for the past years but this year after spending over £30 on ice creams for me and my family I was very disappointed 😕 It seemed to be full of ice particles and no where near the usual creamy flavour that we have experienced in the past. Disappointed 😕😕

I love the simplicity of this ice cream shop. They only serve vanilla so it’s a good job it’s very tasty! You can add clotted cream for 40p. At first this seemed like it might be too much but I went for it and you should too - what a combo! It’s cash only so take some out before you go.

the place is really old fashioned looking and a bit scruffy ro8nd the edges and only does clotted cream vanilla ice cream but it is amazingly good and you really don't want for anything else. cannot recommend it highly enough but I dont think they were doing anything except take away tubs when we passed by. have late lunch at mackerel sky and pop next door for scoop of this brilliant ice cream after that. delish.

Lovely ice cream and always reasonable priced.Have noticed the price had crept up these last couple of years which is understandable as everything does but to charge £2 for 1 small scoop in a very small tub and £3 for 2 scoops is a rip off.I wondered why the man in front of me in the queue walked away empty handed and I did too.What a shame.Good ice cream but not that good.

My daughter had done extensive research on where the best ice creams around Penzance were to be had and we sampled quite a few, but this was by far the best! Served from the door and only vanilla, but well worth the visit!

It was very nice - don't get me wrong... just - the world's best? Not really - just a lovely old traditional family business doing something well - and worth supporting because of it. No frills is part of the idea - I like it. I'd go again but it's not worth travelling far for. Also wish it was served with wooden spatula, not plastic, and that the clotted cream was served onto the ice cream rather than in a separate plastic tub. Too much plastic single use waste. Easy to reduce while staying traditional.

The best ice cream ice ever eaten! I read an article that this place had to close down due to a customer complaining, what an absolute joke! This place is incredible. (It absolutely didn’t deter me coming here) a must visit for anyone close to Newlyn. There was a queue outside every single day. Great prices and amazing ice cream!
